Chapter 1: The beginning of an adventure
Shadow always had a hard time in his hive. Ever since he was born, there was one word that could
describe him, and that was short. His height was 3 feet tall, and he always got picked on for it,
constantly being called short and tiny. One day, he decided he had enough and he did something
no drone would ever think of doing. This is his story.
Shadow woke up inside his pod, the outside of it being obscured and blurred. He sighed and made
a promise to himself. "Today is the day I will leave the hive." He slowly crawled out of the pod and
walked around, then he saw it. The exit to the hive, calling to him to leave and live a free life outside
of the hive. His joy overtook him as he ran to it, before being yanked back by a strong hoof. He
looked to see who it was, only to find the leader of the hive staring down at him.
"Where do you think you're going?", the leader asked. Shadow shivered slightly, but regained his
courage moments later. "I'm going to live outside the hive!" Shadow said, trying his best to sound
anywhere near brave. The leader simply laughed. "You, living outside the hive? Where are you going
to live?" Shadow replied with, "I'm going to live in the place all the other drones talk about. Ponyville."
The leader laughed again. "Good luck. The outside world will tear you apart." And with that, he turned
away and left.
Shadow turned to the exit, slightly nervous, but overall ready. "Let's do this." He gave off a few deep
breaths before walking to the exit, taking his firsr steps outside the hive. The sunlight blinded him
as his eyes adjusted to the brightness of the outside. When his eyes finally adjusted, he saw he was
surrounded by trees with birds flying overhead and the sounds of animals all around. "Wow. So, this
is the outside world. I like it. Now, to find ponyville." With that, he flew up into the sky as fast as his
tiny wings could carry him and started his journey to a new life.
