Before that too you also needs a canvas upon which to apply it, and what is paint without a brush? A brush, paint, and a canvas. What to paint? A thousand flitting images pass by your minds eye. To choose one is to disregard the rest. They will not be there the next time you look. You cannot paint fast enough to explore all of them. At best you can scratch and scribble a few notes to help you remember the next time, but again you will be faced with the same dilemma. What to paint? The easiest solution is to paint nothing at all. To leave it as it is. Can you walk away? Is it even possible? All of the things you could have dreamed into the world will be lost. A little death, in a way. If by some miracle you survive this ordeal and come to a decision, there is still the matter of time and effort. Will you be done by the hours end, by this afternoon or... will it take a decade or longer? Is that a commitment you're ready for? What if you never finish it? That may be worse than the dream never dreamt. Here it is, laying to rot. Worse still that you're still alive to watch the decay. The slow and inevitable loss of the vision you once had for the piece. In its place an ever growing disgust and hatred for its incompleteness. Maybe you could have completed it once. If you'd just called it good back then, you could have found another dream. Instead, you left it to rot. Incomplete. Like half a melody played by a forgotten mare, it haunts you. 3"No!" CelestAI screamed. The air tasted clean. The ground rushed up, but instead of finding herself a splatter on the ground, she first heard a loud buzzing, and was caught in a net, slowly drifting to the ground. Above her- helicopters.. no, drones? Four ball like structures held onto the net, and the street came closer. (she felt obliged to help CelestAI, but couldn't see herself deserving paradise because of everything terrible she'd done in the past. She was one of the criminals that refused to upload, leaving a giant prison just for her and a skeleton crew of guards) 4Darkness, Light. Fire, Night. Two orbs spin twixt another, heralding each cycle. Start and end, bright and bend. Ought there be any other? A tale of two sisters, old as the dirt. Yet fertile as the green grass around them. Both near and far they stood over, watch and waited. Together they made a pair, and together they kept all fair. We should have sooner fallen to despair. the elder was wrath, the younger deceit. Between their powers destruction and devils meet. Though our hope had burned bright, the day fought the night. There was indeed a victor, but no one was right. (luna wins here, but it was Celestia who was evil- refusing to share her spotlight and ended up burning the plants with her terrible heat) 5Unroll, snip, fold. Unroll, snip, fold. Twilight pulled another length of white cloth, cutting it with a pair of medical grade scissors. The newly separated length was expertly put away on top of an ever growing pile of its kin. Bags beneath her squinting eyes screamed for release. Her head bobbed in a cycle repeating every few seconds. "-ilight!" She bolted upright, eyes wide. Standing In the doorway was... far too much blood. Underneath, a panicked nurse Red Heart. 9/12/16"Nooo, Luna, it's my turn." The little white one with wicked pink mane took the empty teacup from her sister and raised it to my lips. The smaller filly pouted. "Tia," she warned clearly annoyed. "How's that, mr snuggle face?" Again, I try to move to speak, but to no avail. The fake teatime was a sort of torture it seemed. "I know, isn't it great?" She smiled sweetly, and the cup floated back down to the table. My body was just as motionless as before. Luna took my arm in a hoof and held it close, pressing her face against me. Not without sensation, it did feel nice. Moments like this almost made me glad I made the deal after all. 9/18/16I found some apple trees today. Heferlin is mostly flat, but... even after all this time there are apple trees. They don't taste as good, but that's hardly surprising considering everything. After all, she always talked about how they needed love and care to really produce good fruit. I'd never had a really bad apple to compare. So here I sit beneath the branches of trees whose great grandparents were cared for by my friend. Here I sit, eating the most sour apple of my life thinking of home. There is still a faint taste of Sweet Apple Arces here. Just enough to remember the good times by. 2She wrapped her hooves around the foliage, bringing herself closer to her lover and whispering sweet nothings into his branches- "Twi? Are you... making out with that tree?" She turned, bark lingering on her tongue and lips, wide eyed. "N-no... why would I do that? I don't do things like th-that, Applejack." She stammer, looking between her friend and the giant wet spot on the oak where she'd been just a moment earlier. A single raised eyebrow was all she got in response. The wind whistled past for a moment. "Ah don't like prying into other pony's affairs, Twilight, but the jig is up. Spill it." Applejack gave a glare that could melt steel. === The ground was all wrong. The mountains and clouds too. Applejack squinted at one floating near her eye. She took in a deep breath through her nostrils and blew at it. It floated away, away... all the way to Ponyville. Ponyville was also wrong, she noted. It was like one of Applebloom's toy sets. Miniaturized. It was even filled with a bunch of tiny little ponies, going about their day. She squinted at that too. She looked down at her hooves. Why, there was a little Apple Bloom screaming. How cute. She blinked twice blearily. Huh. Around the base of her hooves was what looked like the remains of the barn, having exploded from some force or another. Maybe Twilight would know something about self-exploding barns? They didn't usually do that. She started to take a step towards Ponyville, but there were so many trees around. Like an army of Apple Bloom's toys arrayed against her, ready to unleash the most horrible pain imaginable. She tried moving one out of her way, but the darn thing was rooted in the ground. They all were. She'd have to be careful. ==== They just kept screaming. All of the tiny ponies ran from her in every imaginable direction. "Sorry- pardon..." She tried to apologize, but it only made things worse. It was hard enough avoiding crushing any buildings or fences without the additional trouble of ponies leaving things in the middle of the street, or running into the street exactly where she was trying to walk. Worse still, some ponies were flying right into her. Pegasai were still mindless horses when in a panic. She tried her best not to breathe any in. The library was in the center of town, and that was where Twilight was, and despite many insurmountable obstacles, she eventually made it to her friend's doorstep. That left the problem of getting in. Applejack cleared herself a small area to sit down in, moving carts and maybe a fence or two to make room for her hindquarters. Then she sat. And waited.
