She wrapped her hooves around the foliage, bringing herself closer to her lover and whispering sweet nothings into his branches-

"Twi? Are you... making out with that tree?"

She turned, bark lingering on her tongue and lips, wide eyed.

"N-no... why would I do that? I don't do things like th-that, Applejack." She stammer, looking between her friend and the giant wet spot on the oak where she'd been just a moment earlier.

A single raised eyebrow was all she got in response.

The wind whistled past for a moment.

"Ah don't like prying into other pony's affairs, Twilight, but the jig is up. Spill it." Applejack gave a glare that could melt steel.

The ground was all wrong. The mountains and clouds too.

Applejack squinted at one floating near her eye. She took in a deep breath through her nostrils and blew at it. It floated away, away... all the way to Ponyville.

Ponyville was also wrong, she noted. It was like one of Applebloom's toy sets. Miniaturized.

It was even filled with a bunch of tiny little ponies, going about their day. She squinted at that too.

She looked down at her hooves. Why, there was a little Apple Bloom screaming. How cute.

She blinked twice blearily. Huh.

Around the base of her hooves was what looked like the remains of the barn, having exploded from some force or another.

Maybe Twilight would know something about self-exploding barns? They didn't usually do that.

She started to take a step towards Ponyville, but there were so many trees around. Like an army of Apple Bloom's toys arrayed against her, ready to unleash the most horrible pain imaginable. She tried moving one out of her way, but the darn thing was rooted in the ground. They all were.

She'd have to be careful.

====

They just kept screaming. All of the tiny ponies ran from her in every imaginable direction. "Sorry- pardon..." She tried to apologize, but it only made things worse. It was hard enough avoiding crushing any buildings or fences without the additional trouble of ponies leaving things in the middle of the street, or running into the street exactly where she was trying to walk. Worse still, some ponies were flying right into her. Pegasai were still mindless horses when in a panic. She tried her best not to breathe any in.

The library was in the center of town, and that was where Twilight was, and despite many insurmountable obstacles, she eventually made it to her friend's doorstep. That left the problem of getting in. Applejack cleared herself a small area to sit down in, moving carts and maybe a fence or two to make room for her hindquarters.

Then she sat.

And waited.
