Pancake Syrup. That's my name. Its a dumb name. Pinkamena, er, Pinkie just calls me Syrup. Even when I used to bully her, she called me Syrup and not my full name. She was weird. Really weird. She never cared that I called her by her full name, or that she got abused, for that matter. I don't know how....or how I became her friend in the first place. I think I can dig deep enough into my memories for ya.
Let me see. Ah. That's right. It was a sunny morning. I didn't have much of a sunny attitude though. Heh. Anyway, mom yelled at me to get up. Well, more like she yelled this.
"PANCAKE SYRUP, YOU GET DOWN HERE AND JOIN YOUR FAMILY FOR BREAKFAST, RIGHT NOW!" See? It was the first thing I heard, so I wasn't really ready for it. I reluctantly got out of bed and walked down the stairs to the Tartarus my family called breakfast. My brother and sister were throwing food at each other, and Mom was eating normally. I guess Dad left before I woke up. Wait, nevermind. He already left me a year ago. He's dead. Not that I care.
I grabbed a slice of toast, put some butter on it, and left. I didn't really know where I was going, nor did I care where I ended up. Nopony would care where I ended up. My family never pays attention to me anyway. They never paid attention to me except to call me down for something to eat.
By the time I finished my toast, it was the middle of the day. I guess I woke up really late. Like always. everything was so predictable. I hated that. But then, I noticed an all-too-familiar broken tower. I smiled to myself. I climbed up the tower, and waited.
By the time she got there, I was asleep. She climbed up the tower and shrieked. It was enough for me to wake up.
"Good morning Pinkamena." I knew all-too-well it was nighttime, but Pinkie didn't care.
Or she didn't notice. She didn't move after that. Then, she trembled in fear and said.
"Look at me." I didn't know how to respond. Other than looking at her. There was no other way. I looked back at her. I got out from under her and I looked better. I looked at her. She had gauze everywhere. Her right eye, her forehead, ears, chest, legs, rump. And her eyes. Her eyes were, distant. She had been through a lot of things.
Her eyes were now demanding.
"I suggest you become my friend.' She didn't me a beat.
It felt like I was hypnotized.
Not that I care. Nopony cares.
"And why should I?" That should get her. But it didn't.
"Because I don't have any and neither do you." Ouch. Way to make the nail go deeper into my skull, Pinkamena.
"And how can you prove that?!" I know I sounded harsh. That's the point.
"I can't show anything visual." Ha- "-But I don't see you hanging out with anypony at your school.
"How do you kn-" I was cut off.
"I have free time too." Really?
"Free time? The time where you get beaten senselessly? Wait, oh Celestia, am I feeling bad for her?"
"That's not very nice." Whoops.
"I-uh..." Why am I stuttering?! Get your thoughts together, brain!
"It's fine." Her endless blushing said otherwise. "Now about my previous question..."
"Which I don't want to answer." I snapped back despite her not snapping at me.
"In which I don't care, Miss. Pink Spots." It took me a while to figure out what she meant. *DING!
"Y-you wouldn't..." She was to much of a coward!
"You're right." Phew. "He won't do anything." Double phew. "I will." Oh horseapples.
"FINE! I accept your offer." To my surprise she chuckled lightly. I felt heat rush to my chee-wait no, brain, stop.
"Yay." She whispered. She whispered. I had to admit, it was kinda adorable. Didn't make my blood drain out from my face though. "Oh! And why are you blushing?"
"I guess your blushing is rubbing off of me." There we go. Thank Celestia my brain was still working. Thank Celestia that I went to school and therefore was smarter than her.
"Um, okay? I guess that'll be our answer. For now. Uh." Oh Celestia. Do I have to foalsit her? It's not like she'll ever find out the answer to my blushing. She was too dumb for that. But then again, the nurses teach her a lot. Huh. Maybe she isn't the stalker. Well, the only stalker.... "You gonna answer or what?"
"AH! I MEAN UH UH UMM..." Oh Celestia, oh Celestia, oh Celesti-
"Pfft. Did I scare you that bad?" Oh no.
"O-of course not!" No way. No how.
"Are you suuure?" Out of all the things she had to do, she had to stretch out sure.
"Yes i'm sure." She wasn't going to get me.
"Alright. You better not be lying to me though." She giggled. Why does she have to be so cute? Even her straight hairstyle is cute.
"I'm not." I restrained myself from getting closer. We were close enough as it is.
Or, as it was. Did I really make it look like it was happening now? Because this happened a week ago. Oh well.
"PINKAMENA DIANE PIE YOU GET DOWN HERE AND DO YOUR WORK LIKE THE REST OF US!" Pinkie's father didn't know how to not scare her.
"Oh dear. Well, uh, bye Syrup!" I waved meekly at her. I guess her father scared me as well.
"Bye."
