My name is Casino Truecard, a new student who just transferred to Canterlot City to go to their high school a few days ago from the city of Manehattan, New Colt. And the school that I came from is absolutely the most notoriously known school of all time:

Tirek High School.

And I kid you not; bullying was the norm, fucking each other over was the extra curricular activity, and being top dog was a mandatory ideal. But if you were a person that blew shit up or vandalized any building outside of the campus, you got major props for doing so from even the most evil of students.

And as for me, I was one of the bullied people who never succumbed to their ideals. Day in and day out, it was the norm for me. But I am happy that I NEVER!! did any of that crap. And after my junior year in that hole-in-the-wall, my entire family had left the city of Manehattan to go to a new place. And that also made me feel so much better about myself than anything else.

Now, as to who I actually am? Well, that's easy for me to say: I'm a rather tall guy at about six feet and five inches tall. But not only that, but my main activity is one that only so few people, like my family for example, in this world can understand: I am a card enthusiast. And from my perspective, I just think that it is a blessing.

In my opinion, there is nothing better than the simple pleasure of having a deck of cards ready to play with in your hands. Whether it's one of the traditional Las Pegasus recreational games played for money or fun, or trading fantasy or sports cards with one another, it's all one of the simplest yet greatest pleasures that I have had in my life. And, of course, I see myself as someone that is able to create certain card trophies for those that are just the best people. The last time that I did such a thing was when my entire family was gathered together last Christmas. And after taking a family photo together, I created a card that still resides within my wallet. It's one of the few treasures that I got to keep after leaving Manehattan.

The alarm clock screams its announcement that I had no choice but to wake the hell up from the slumber that I had just gone through after moving every item into my new house the day before. And after mumbling angrily at it, I slam the button to shut it off. I scramble to my feet to take my shower before putting on my best clothes for the new school day.

My light blue denim jeans and a white jock shirt underneath a red t-shirt are the best clothes that I put on. Along with a fresh pair of socks and boxers, that is. But the part that complements them all is a hooded jacket that displays my family's chosen crest in the midriff: The four symbols of the card suits going from spade, heart, club and then diamond.

My breakfast consists of a small bacon and egg sandwich on butter-toasted bread with some cheese and a few drops of hot sauce to boost up the flavor. But to fully make my day start with a kick, a small amount of salad is placed next to it. After eating my grub, I take my backpack and head to the door. But as I was about to open the door, both my mom and my dad stop me within a moment.

"Son, we need to talk to you about a few things that you need to know before you head off to your new school," my dad, who is known as 'Spades' within the family tree, interjects before my fingers are even touching the metal.

I turn my head to face them both.

"First thing that you know is this," my mom begins. "We are no longer in Manehattan, so don't forget that the people in your new school might not be as evil as the ones that you've seen before," she speaks in a matter-of-fact tone before continuing with, "And I know that this change of schools will be even better because of how I read ahead to find out that Canterlot High is actually the polar opposite of Tirek High: Friendly, kind, and even better with how the students are just better."

"But just remember what your uncles and I have taught you," Dad intervines politely. "Don't let any of the bullies that you might find walk over you, Casino. We all love you, son. And we would more than be disappointed to hear from your new principal that you have gotten into a bit of trouble because of a misunderstanding."

It takes them a little longer than five minutes to explain certain rules to me, but I got the gist of it after breaking it all down into a few simple guidelines.

"So: Be kind and respectful to everyone, don't let the bullies walk over you, find some new and better friends, keep up with my homework, and be myself. Is that right?" I ask them both after taking a moment to process the information while counting their lines.

"That's it, Casino. You've got it all down, son," Dad smiles with a light slap to my left arm.

"And remember the first rule of poker: Leave emotion at the door," Mom adds to my lines with a quick but warming hug to me that I give back to her with a small peck to her cheek.

"Love you, Mom. Love you, Dad. See you when I get home, okay?" I speak to them after opening the door. Within a few seconds, I see the street that will lead me to my new destination. After reading the directions from my cell phone to get to my school from my house, I make my trek towards my new school. Hopefully, the students there will be immensely better than at THS.

.....

As I approached the horse statue that decorates the front entrance of the new school, after taking such a long walk to get to it, I could hear a small voice calling out to the other students as they just passed by to get to their groups of friends. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a group that I can hang out with after today.

"Please help the animals. They really need a new home... please?" the same voice called out, just above a whisper as I walked closer to the statue.

Looking over to find the source of the pleads, I find a beautiful girl standing near the base of the statue, handing out flyers for an animal shelter that she was more than likely a volunteer at, based on how she spoke from what I heard. Her hair is pink, her skin is a creamy yellow, her eyes are a light greenish-blue, and her whole uniform consists of green and white with butterflies on the skirt and a hairpin with said insect.

"Hello there," I wave to the girl. But just as I was about to ask her what she was doing, she gives out a small scream before she bolts to the back side of the statue to hide from me. I roll my eyes with a deep sigh, gathering some clue that she must be shy towards other people. Either that, or the fact that I am a bit like a giant... compared to her height. I pick up one of the flyers that she unintentionally dropped and see that its asking for new volunteers to help with giving the animals a new home.

But as I am about to leave, I hear a plead from her that sounds like, "No-no, wait!"

I turn back to face the girl, and she is still hiding the rest of her face from me. Her eyes still look to me, still showing a bit of that fear. By then, I realized that she must have been quite the cutie to whoever was the lucky man. Or woman. I was never someone that judged anyone because of who the people wanted to love in this day and age. And I was never going to start doing that. To do so would make me a soul-less shell that dared to call himself a man.

"Um... were you, t-that is... were you wanting a flyer?" she asks me timidly, keeping her voice down. Though it was above a whisper, I nod my head to her after showing her the flyer that I had picked up. I was still quite confused by her shy behavior towards me, but I thought better about it and just internally shrug it off.

In the attempt to show her that I was not going to threaten her, as I remembered certain people like her assumed, I approach her slowly while waving my hands down. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you, uh.... what's your name?" I ask her, realizing that I did not ask her for her name. "I'm Casino Truecard. And it's a big pleasure to meet you," I started my introduction with a smile, hesitantly.

"Oh, my! You must be a new student here! Oh! I am so sorry," she gasped to me as I see her approaching me slowly.

"What for?" I ask her with an eyebrow lifted up, confused by her sudden apology.

"For not introducing myself... Oh, Fluttershy... you are such a bad person for not being kind to him," she muttered to herself.

"Hey now! Don't say that," I replied to the girl.

"Sorry..." she said to me again while keeping her head down as her gaze didn't leave mine.

"It's alright, now. No need to keep apologizing. So... Fluttershy, was it?" I ask her after hearing her name. The girl in front of me looked up with her eyes going from short and demeaning to wide and happy within seconds of hearing my question. I smile to her, and she gives me a weak but genuine one back.

"Y-yes, that's right. I'm Fluttershy," she introduces herself with a gentle shake of my hand.

"And like I said, it's a big pleasure to meet you, Fluttershy," I greet back with my hand shaking hers back.

"Oh, uh..." Fluttershy trails off before speaking back up. "Did, uh... did you say your name is Casino? T-that is, if you don't mind me asking," she asks me with a curious look to me.

"Mm-hmm. I'm Casino Truecard," I reply to her with a nod. "And I just moved to this city from Manehattan a few days ago," I added to my answer to her.

"Really?" the girl proceeds to ask me.

"Oh, yeah," I nod to her again. "But I was born in Las Pegasus, Neighvada, originally," I added on to the conversation.

"And how many years did you live in Manehattan?" Fluttershy asks me again.

"From the eighth grade until my junior year in high school there," I replied to her in a deadpan voice rather quickly.

"Oh, uh... I'm sorry--" she begins to apologize.

"No-no! I should be saying that," I object to her with a wave of my hand. "I'm just sensitive about my time in Manehattan."

"N-no, really. I-I... uh... I'm really sorry that I imposed that question on you," she speaks softly to me.

By the time that I try to object, those puppy eyes are in place. Hnnggh... I hate it when they do that! Never underestimate the power of the cute face attack! Especially if the one utilizing that tactic is just adorable to begin with.

"It's alright, Fluttershy," I say to her with my eyes reverting back to her. "You didn't know about it. And I can forgive you for that."

But as a tear is wiped off, before she could go into more of that cute face in her reply to my sincere acceptance, an unfamiliar booming voice calls out her name from a few yards behind us.

"HEY, FLUTTERSHY!"

I slip the folded flyer into my left back pocket and find the source of the call belonging to a cyan skinned girl with a rainbow color scheme in her hair. This was another student that I was unfamiliar with, but she seemed friendly enough in my eyes. Oh there was a tomboy fashion in her clothes and behavior, but I could figure out that she was not the typical jock typing that I observed from my previous days. Her body, while hugged by her clothes, was observed to be quite sexy in its own way.

"Oh! Hi, Rainbow Dash," she greets the girl after making an involuntary squeak. Rainbow Dash, huh? Sounds really cool.

"Oops! Sorry 'bout that, Flutters," Rainbow apologizes immediately, to which Fluttershy accepts with a giggle. "Huh? Oh! Hey there, big guy! Name's Rainbow Dash! You must be new here, right?" she greets with a raised fist that she wanted to be bumped after lifting up her ruby-red colored eyes to meet my gaze.

"Mm-hmm. Name's Casino Truecard. Pleased to meet you, Rainbow Dash," I greeted to her with a fist bump.

"Huh. Truecard, right? Never heard a name like that," she comments to me with a grin. "Heh. Sounds really cool," she adds on.

"You really think so?" I ask her with an eyebrow raised up.

"Well, duh! I mean, I never heard anyone having a name quite like that," she answers in that grin growing wider.

"W-well, thanks," I reply to her with my small grin getting bigger by the second.

"You're welcome, bud. So, hey! Given that you're new here, will you be wanting a tour of this school with us?" Rainbow asks me within a second of my reply. "Fluttershy and I are waiting for the other girls to get here, so maybe you'd like us to show you around," she further suggests.

"Well, uh... before I do that, I got to head to the principals office first to pick up my school schedule," I immediately tell her after thinking about it for a moment.

"Now that sounds like a splendid idea, darling," another voice calls up from behind the two girls in front of me.

Almost immediately, I see four more girls approaching me slowly while they line up beside the other two girls.

"Oh, Casino! These girls here are our friends," Fluttershy speaks up to me after pointing her hand out to the other girls. "This is Rarity-" she begins with her finger pointing to the purple haired one.

"A very good morning to you, darling!" she greets me in that same voice from before. I give a small bow to her in reply.

"Applejack," Fluttershy continues, as a blond girl with freckles on her face comes up. "Howdy, stranger," Applejack greets me with a tip of her cowgirl hat.

"This is Twilight Sparkle," Fluttershy goes on to say, indicating the purple on purple girl with thick-rimmed glasses over her amethyst colored eyes. "Hi there," she greets me with a simple wave of her hand to me, to which I give back.

"And this is--" Fluttershy was about to finish before I hear a big gasp coming from the pink on pink girl with light blue eyes. Within a second after hearing that, the same girl rushes through the front entrance, disappearing without a trace.

"What just happened here?" I ask her in my confusion.

"That was Pinkie Pie, the most random girl that we know," Rainbow answers. "But she's the best at planning a party for every occasion," she adds on.

"And she'll more than likely give you one of those parties," Rarity quips.

"And for... what reason?" I ask the posh one, almost slightly fearing what might happen.

"Well," Twilight speaks up for the first time since the intro, "because she doesn't know you. And with that, she'll give you a 'Welcome to Canterlot High' party."

Before I could fully introduce myself to the other girls, I hear the words "HEADS UP!!!" from Rainbow being shouted out. I look over and see a football coming my way. I firmly grab the ball with my hands and toss it lightly back to a pack of jocks coming up. They compliment my performance and ask if I was interested in playing in their school teams. I respectfully decline with a note that being on a sports team, with no offense intended against my new acquaintance Rainbow Dash, is not in my interests. They respect my declination and scurry off to the door.

I look to the other girls, and they all seemed impressed by how I handled myself.

"So, uh... I am wondering, after school that is, if all of you would be willing to give me that tour of this school," I pondered to all of them with a raised brow. They all nod their heads to me with a big smile as they said their goodbyes to me for now.

.....

A few minutes later, after successfully navigating the halls, I get to the door of the Principal and Vice Principal's office. I knock three times before I hear a warming voice say, "Come in."

"Principal Celestia?" I wondered.

"That's me," she replies.

"My name is Casino Truecard, and my parents had informed you of my arrival and transfer," I quickly say to her, hoping that the answer would be delightful.

"Why, yes. Your parents did inform me three days ago about your transfer to this school," Ms. Celestia smiled at me. "And I must say that it is a real pleasure to meet a new student in my school, Mr. Truecard."

And I smiled from that little remark that she made to me. And after I get my schedule, planner and the list of all of the after-school clubs from the principal, the Vice Principal politely interrupts us for a little help with some of her paperwork.

"My hope is that you'll be able to have a wonderful graduation with us, Mr. Truecard," Ms. Celestia speaks up in a 'goodbye-for-now' message.

"Me too," I reply to her before closing the door behind me.

I look at my schedule and see that my lunch break comes after the fourth class, before the fifth class starts. My first class is Chemistry IV with a doctor that I'm sure I heard about on TV. Strangely though, I think I heard his name on a BBC special. Eh, just a coincidence. I'll live.

"Chemistry with Dr. Whooves?" a new voice speaks up from a distance away.

"Uh, yeah. Certainly looks li-iiikkeee...." I begin to stammer as I see a girl in front of me, who must have been the source of that beautiful voice.

The image that I saw in front of me had almost set my soul into an inferno. A redheaded girl with gold-yellow streaks in her hair, amber-yellow skin and turquoise blue eyes. And right in front of me. A leather jacket that spoke 'I'm a bad girl', a purple sleeveless shirt and an orange skirt with her knee-high boots was what she was wearing.

"You okay?" the girl spoke to me, snapping me back to reality.

"Oh! Uh, y-y-y-yeah! I just- w-well I, uh..." Way to go, dumb ass.

"You just got your schedule from the Principal?" she asks me with her eyes on me. I could only nod dumbly. "So you must be new here, right?" she further asks me after I nodded.

We get to our introductions, and I learn that her name is Sunset Shimmer. I almost blurt out that it's a beautiful name, but I bite my tongue before I could do so. And after I tell my name to her, she and I walk to the classroom that apparently, she and I needed to go to.

"Welcome to Canterlot High, Casino," she smiled to me, to which I thanked her silently. This... was going to be quite the epic experience for me.

.....

Many hours later, I head straight home after being given the tour of the whole school, both inside and out. And all from the group of girls that I met earlier. And Sunset was also in that group, to my surprise. But what really set me off was the event that took place after the tour.

Before I get myself to the bed, I look at the contacts list in my phone and see that seven new numbers were added. And all from the same girls from before. This was just a dream come true.

While looking at the digits, I see that Sunset's cell phone number is starting to claw itself into my memory. But before I call her, I take a deep breath to calm my nerves. My thumb hits the call button after taking a moment to breath. The phone rings on the other side.

(click) "Hello?" her voice greets me.

"Hi, uh... Sunset? This is Casino calling. From the school?" I say to her from the mouthpiece.

"Oh, Casino! I didn't expect that you'd be calling me! I thought that you'd at least call Pinkie or Twilight," Sunset speaks to me in a surprised tone.

"Why's that?" I ask her, confused with her opening.

"Well, uh... It's just that no one, other than my friends if they are going out, calls me after school," she replies to me in a tone of sadness that I pick up from her answer.

"Really?" I ask her, almost furiously.

"Yeah..." she sighs.

"And no one, except for your friends, calls you up after school?" I asked her incredulously.

"Mm-hmm," she mumbles again.

"B-but... T-that's just-- Wrong!" I growled out to her. "I mean, I would have thought that you'd at least have some boy trying to call you after school!"

"Huh? What do you mean, Casino?" she asks me from the other side.

"I mean, uh.... t-that is, I, uh.... I'd have thought--" I try to say before she interrupts.

"Now wait a minute, Casino..." she calmly interrupts.

"Okay..." I sigh with a breath in and out of my mouth.

"Hey, Casino?" I hear from her on the line.

"Uh-huh?" I ask with a raise brow.

"Thanks for calling me," she sweetly says to me. "It was very sweet of you to do this..."

"Anytime, Sunset!" I respond to her with a smile.

"But there is something that I want to ask you, though."

Uh-oh.

"W-what is it?" I ask her in fear of she might ask me.

"Um... have you- that is, uh... have you ever had a girlfriend?"

I was dreading that question with a passion. Come on man, lie to her!

"No, I haven't." Damn it, Casino! You just had to give her your desperate call.

"At all?"

"I never had one. Why?"

"Oh! Uh, i-i-it's not important, just w-wandering," she begins to stammer.

Holy Sun and Moon! Is she---

"Sorry, gotta go! Pinkie is calling from another line!" she says to me in a panic.

"May I call you later?" I ask her almost immediately.

"Yeah, uh... Sure, Casino... I would love that..." she answers with a giggle.

"Buh-bye for now..."

"See you later, cute stuff..."

Huh? What was that?

(click) (dial tone)

'Well, that does it: All reports are in! I'm officially falling in love with the redhead girl!' I begin to monologue inside of my head as I lightly slap the phone onto my lap. 'Damn it, Sunset Shimmer! You really know how to fluster a guy, don't you?' I begin to nod off to take my nap, and after my eyelids fall, I fall asleep.

.....

.....

.....

(3rd Person)

Sunset presses the cancel button on her phone and blushes furiously after saying those two words to him.

"Shit!" she yells out. "I can't believe I said that! And to the new guy, no less!"

After a big yell into her pillow, she calms down and assesses the situation.

'Damn it, Casino Truecard! You really know how to make a girl blush, don't you? And you really made me fall in love with you! Wait- what?' she screams internally.

"Holy shit... I've fallen for Casino Truecard," she whispers before slumbering to her bed to take her nap.

A shot comes in with both Casino and Sunset both saying in their sleep: "I am so going to make him/her mine... if it's the last thing I do."
