The two had spent there whole summer together hanging out and staying up late. It would soon be back to school to Fluttershy's dismay. Her face then saddened at the thought of being once again away from Rainbow Dash even if it was only one class period. Tears start to form in the girls teal eyes as she worried about them drifting apart like most friends do. Even worse Rainbow finding someone she liked. She tried to wipe the tears away as she saw her friend awake. Rainbow rubbed her eyes and then stretched lazily. Fluttershy tried her best not to look as the rainbow haired girls shirt lifted slightly showing off her toned stomach. "Geez Shy why didn't you wake-" Rainbow started before she caught a glimpse of Fluttershy's teary eyes. Rainbow quickly went to hug Fluttershy with a worried expression. Fluttershy couldn't hold it anymore and let the tears fall. Rainbow stayed silent still completely confused. "What's wrong Shy?" Rainbow finally asked. "Why are you crying so much?" Fluttershy let out a shaky breath as she pulled away from the hug. Her hair falling in her face as she contemplated what she wanted to say. Once she gained enough courage to speak she met Rainbow's eyes only to quickly look down again. Rainbow thought it was just Fluttershy's being her usual bashful self. "I don't want to lose yo-our friendship!" Fluttershy quickly caught herself. "I don't want us to drift apart and you find someone you'd rather be with." Rainbow blinked at Fluttershy's confession before putting a comforting hand on the other girls shoulder. "Look Shy no matter what happens you'll always be the most important person in my life." Fluttershy's face turns a slight crimson as she listen's to Rainbow in awe. "Y-you really mean that?" She knew the answer she just wanted Rainbow to say it. "Of course I do Flutter's you're my best friend and we tell each other everything!" Rainbow exclaimed with a genuine smile. Fluttershy's heart dropped remembering her deepest darkest secret that she wouldn't ever tell her friend. Rainbow was saying all this stuff and Fluttershy felt an urge to finally tell her the truth. "Rainbow there's something I need to say." She whispered only loud enough for the other girl to hear. "what is it?" Rainbow asked leaning in to make sure she could hear clearly. Fluttershy couldn't help but look down at the girls mouth then down at her own fidgety hands. Rainbow was so close to her she could hardly breath. Swallowing hard Fluttershy looked at Rainbow. "Rainbow I-" She was cut off by her mother opening the door. "Rainbow Dash your sister's here." Fluttershy's mom spoke softly with a light smile. Rainbow turned and smiled back at her. "Yeah can you tell her I'll be down in a second?" She asked as her eye's drifted back to Fluttershy. Fluttershy's mom laughed lightly and closed the door. Rainbow turned fully to Fluttershy whose face was practically the color of Rainbow's shorts. Rainbow waved a hand in front of her friend flushed face worriedly. "Um, Shy you were saying?" She asked with a chuckle. The Shy girl shook her head quickly. "Oh I forgot, you better go Rainbow Scootaloo and your mom are probably waiting." She spoke lowly her hair falling over her right eye. Rainbow moved the hair from her friend's eye. "You sure?" She asked concerned. Fluttershy simply nodded turning her head. Rainbow shrugged and quickly collected her belongings throwing them carelessly in her cyan book bag. Fluttershy watched her in silence. "Well I'll see you at school tomorrow." Rainbow said hugging Fluttershy. She waved out the window to her friend as the car pulled out of the driveway. After Rainbow left Fluttershy leaned against her bedroom door covering her eyes with her hands. She wasn't sure if she felt relieved or frustrated. On one hand she didn't ruin her friendship with her best friend, but on the other hand she would never get back the courage she had to tell her true feelings. Back to schoolThe alarm buzzed in Fluttershy's ear making her jolt up. She sighed as she got ready for school. Looking in the mirror one last time with a determined smile as she headed out. Finally arriving at school she got a text from Rainbow Dash saying she would be coming in during lunch. So focused on the text she didn't notice someone in front of her. She crashed into them causing them to drop all the books they were both holding. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" The other girl said pushing up her glasses and helping Fluttershy pick up her books. "Oh no it was completely my fault I wasn't paying attention." Fluttershy said softly. The two girls helped one another and stood up in unison. Fluttershy looked down and kicked the ground lightly as they stood in awkward silence. "I'm Twilight Sparkle I'm new here." The girl offered her hand to Fluttershy and she shyly shook it. "Um....I'm Fluttershy." She spoke lowly only slightly audible. The warning bell rung and a heard of students came down the hall. Fluttershy and Twilight looked at eachothers schedule. They had homeroom third and fifth period together. Fluttershy felt very proud of herself. She finally made a new friend by herself. Sure Rainbow introduced her to Applejack and Pinkie Pie, but this was the first friend she made on her own. Perhaps this wouldn't be that bad of a school year. After forth Fluttershy and Twilight met up with her friends. Applejack was sitting in the far right with Pinkie Pie and another girl Fluttershy didn't recognize. "Oh hello girls this is Twi-" She was interrupted by the girl beside Pinkie Pie. "Twilight!" The girl got up giving Twilight a hug as she giggled excitedly. "Rarity?" Twilight hugged her back lightly. "I thought you were moving to Manehattan!" Manehattan." "Oh it's a long story Darling do sit down." Rarity said sitting beside Pinkie once more. Fluttershy raised an eyebrow as she looked around to find Rainbow Dash who was no where to be seen. "Have you seen Rainbow yet?" Fluttershy asked as her eyes continued to scan the cafeteria. "Who's Rainbow Dash?" Twilight rose an eyebrow at the unfamiliar name. "I am!" A voice came from behind Fluttershy. Fluttershy smiled and turned to meet Rainbow's eyes. She could instantly tell something was wrong, but she knew Rainbow probably wanted to tell her in private so she didn't ask. Rainbow tried her best to put on a smile and it fooled most, but not Fluttershy. Rainbow sat next to Rarity and smiled at the two new girls sitting with her friends. "Hey I'm Rainbow Dash but I guess you already know that!" She said proudly. Fluttershy smiled and took a seat next to her friends. After everyone was introduced they chatted for the remainder of lunch. Afterward Fluttershy and Twilight walked to there fifth period art class. The teacher seemed nice. She allowed the students to sit where they liked. Fluttershy decided to sit by the window and Twilight sat beside her. The late bell soon rang and Rainbow came bursting through the door. "Sorry I'm late I had to take care of some business." Rainbow explained as she took the empty seat next to Twilight. Fluttershy frowned ever so slightly, but corrected herself. -Come now Fluttershy it's your fault you took the window seat. Plus it's not like you have to worry about anything Twilight is a nice girl.- Fluttershy thought to herself fixing her attention back to the teacher. After the final bell rang Fluttershy decided to ask Rainbow what happened this morning. She ran to her locker and quietly . Rainbow Dash and her had seventh period together which was gym class, but Rainbow needed to talk to the coach and told Fluttershy to wait by her locker. Soon enough Rainbow came sprinting down the hall. Fluttershy couldn't help but smile at her friend. As she came to a stop at her locker she quickly did the combination with ease. Fluttershy just stood therr in silence. Her admiration toward her athletic friend went far beyond what Rainbow could ever think. If only she knew the truth. Rainbow grabbed her snapback and put on her sweater that said '20% cooler'. After closing her locker she turned toward Fluttershy with a smirk. Fluttershy blushed at the attractive rainbow haired girl "Uh...Shy?" Rainbow said with a raised eyebrow. "Oh um...sorry what?" Fluttershy smiled in embarrassment. "I asked if you were ready?" Rainbow said her voice seemed irritated or annoyed. "Oh yes I'm sorry " Fluttershy said looking down her heart hurt whenever Rainbow seemed aggravated with her "Look Shy I'm sorry I just had a rough day." Rainbow said sighing. "What happened earlier?" Fluttershy asked with a worried expression. "Lets get to your house first I don't really want to talk out in public." Rainbow had an unreadable expression as she walked out the school's glass door. PerhapsOnce Fluttershy returned home her Mom was washing clothes so she just went to her room. Getting out her sketch book and putting headphones in she relaxed on the bed. She wasn't great at drawing , but she enjoyed doing it. It calmed her and let her express herself. She wasn't surprised that once she got done drawing it turned out to be another sketch of Rainbow Dash. She let her fingers trace the lines she made' a small smile formed on her face. Her mom walked in and sat some folded clothes on the bed. Fluttershy quickly closed her sketchbook. "Um..mom can I ask you something?" She said getting off the bed to put the clothes away. "Of course honey what is it?" Her mom asked. "Well Pinkies having a party Saturday and I wanted to know if I could go." She closed the dresser and sat back on the bed. "Yes ,what time are you going to be home?" Her mom asked already knowing the answer. "I think we're sleeping over." Fluttershy fiddles with her fingers. "That sounds find to me, Rainbow will be there right?" Her mom asked making Fluttershy raise an eyebrow. "Of course why wouldn't she?" She answered. "Good." That's all she said before closing the door. As if on cue Fluttershy's phone buzzed. She picked it up reading Rainbows number and instantly answered. "Um...Hello?" she said blushing for no reason. "Hey." Rainbow said with her usual tone. "So what's up?" Fluttershy paced the room. "Did your mom say yes?" Rainbow seemed eager to hear a response "Mmmhm." That's all Fluttershy could say as her eyes scan her sketch book. "Did I call at a bad time?" Rainbow asked. "Oh no, how was your day?" Fluttershy said quickly. That was a conversation starter Rainbow began to talk up a storm. Fluttershy didn't mind she loved hearing Rainbow talk. She smiled as Rainbow laughed at her own joke. She wished she could stay talking to Rainbow dash forever, but it soon became late. "Oh my goodness is it already 10?" Fluttershy yawned and laid in bed. Rainbow paused and Fluttershy could hear shuffling. "Oh well dang Shy you better get to bed." Rainbow said also yawning. "Your yawn is so cute." Fluttershy said then soon regretted it. "I don't do cute..I'm too cool for cute!" Rainbow said defensively. Fluttershy giggled at the pout in Rainbows voice. "Night Shy....I love you." Rainbow said. Fluttershy tried to talk normally as she blushed. How she wished Rainbow meant it in the way she wanted. "I love you too Dashie." She instantly hung up. Laying her head on her pillow and closing her eyes she tried her best to drift off to sleep. TwilightAfter a while Rainbow seemed to avoid me. She started spending more time with the others especially Twilight. It's been three months now. Every time I invite her to my house she's either going over Twilights or she's busy. I sighed as I looked over at the two of them laughing and showing there drawings. I look down at my own art project. Once again it was Rainbow. Her eyes were always my favourite second to her smile at least. The way she curved the right side of her mouth. Another sigh escapes me. The art project was to draw someone you look up to and then at the end of the month we're supposed to give the person the drawing. I really hope she won't think it's weird. I felt my face heat up as my eye's look to her. -Rainbows POV- "So Twi do you maybe want to hang out tonight I kind of have something to tell you." My hands felt so clammy and my face felt slightly hot. "Sure after I study for exams." She said collecting her things. "Your such a nerd." I smirk. "It's pretty cute though." "You pick on me to much." She laughed. I frown as my flirting went right over her head like usual. I really like her, but she's so dense. The bell rings and I lean down to get my stuff on the ground. "Rainbow..." A small voice spoke behind me. I turn seeing Fluttershy looking very flushed. She always does that now probably because she feels awkward about our kiss. "Oh hey Fluttershy what's up?" I ask casually. "I was wondering if you and Scootaloo wanted to go tubing with me and mom this tomorrow." She started messing with her sleeves. I started to speak, but she quickly cut me off. "You could stay with me tonight if you want." She didn't look at me. "Actually Scoots is going over Rarity's to hang out with her little friend Sweetie Belle." I answered before I could finish she spoke again. "Well you can still come that is if you want to." She spoke quickly and a little louder than usual. "Well Twi is coming over so-" She turned when I said that making me stop. "Oh okay well I see you later." She runs off. I really feel bad that I've been avoiding her, but that's the only way I can move on and get over her. TearsFluttershy walked in her house behind her mother. They had been tubing for 2 hours and she felt exhausted. "Too bad Rainbow couldn't come with us she really loves going down the fast hills." Her mom spoke taking off her snowy shoes. "Yeah, I think I'm going to take a shower mom." Fluttershy said changing the subject. "Oh okay I'm going to make some tofu and vegetables for dinner." Her mom said looking at her daughter in worry. Fluttershy didn't reply as she walked up the steps to prepare the shower. Once she finally decided to get out of the shower she put on her green pajamas and went in her room. As she brushed her hair she saw that her phone was blinking. A voicemail from...Rainbow Dash. Ten minutes ago that's odd. She was supposed to be with Twilight. Fluttershy finger hesitated above the play button for a moment before she finally pressed down. "H-hey Shy I need to tell you something important please let me know when you get home." Rainbows voice seemed a little down like she was holding back tears. As if on instinct Fluttershy clicked the return call button. The phone rang once, twice then the line connected. "Hey Shy..." Rainbow spoke lowly. "Rainbow is everything okay?" Fluttershy asked with worry. "Can you meet me outside?" Rainbow asked. Fluttershy didn't answer just ran down the steps practically jumping three steps as she sped out the door. Rainbow sat out on the curb and Fluttershy stepped behind her. The rainbow haired girl turned to meet the teal eyes of her friend. They stayed looking into one another's eyes not speaking. The wind blew gently causing Fluttershys hair to gently blow. Rainbow blushed gazing at the beautiful girl in front of her. She stood and gulped walking toward Fluttershy. "Rainbow what's going on?" Fluttershy asked. Rainbow hesitated for a moment to gather her thoughts. She then started laughing miserably. Fluttershys eyebrow arched as she looked at her friend who appeared to be off her rocker. "I really tried Fluttershy I did..." A single tear fell down the sporty girls cheek. "W-what do you mean?" Fluttershy asked. "I'm sorry..." Rainbow whispered balling up her fist. "Sorry for wh-" Fluttershy was interrupted by Rainbows lips connecting to her own. Truth be told by a RainbowRainbow pulls away from the kiss and Fluttershy blinks in shock a light blush covering her face. "R-rainbow...?" Fluttershy squeaked. "I think I'm in love with you." Rainbow sighed. Fluttershy's eyes filled with tears and Rainbow quickly looked away. "I'm sorry I tried to avoid you and start liking other people but-" This time Fluttershy cut Rainbow Dash off with a kiss. Rainbow starts to melt into the kiss putting her arms around her friends back. Fluttershy let everything she's been holding back into the kiss. Wrapping her arms around Rainbow's neck. Once they both pulled away Rainbow smiled big at her friend. "So you like me to?" Rainbow asked. The shy girl simply nodded holding the rainbow haired girls hands. They both walked back to Fluttershys home. "Oh is Rainbow staying with us tonight?" Fluttershys mom said poking her head through the kitchen door. Fluttershy looked to Dash who smiled. "If that's okay with you ma'am." Rainbow said. "Of course now you two come in here and eat." The woman smiled at the two girls. Fluttershys mom and Rainbow did most of the talking during dinner but, Fluttershy didn't mind. Fluttershy laid her head on Rainbows shoulder and the other girl relaxed laying her head on top of Shy's. "I thought you liked Twilight." Fluttershy said breaking the silence. "I tried to get rid of my feelings for you but, in the end it didn't work." Rainbow replied. "How long?" Fluttershy looked at her hands that she started fiddling with. "Since middle school." Rainbow muttered. "What...Really?" Fluttershy looked at Rainbow in shock. "Yeah." Rainbow said. Fluttershy yawned and stretched slightly. "Tired?" Rainbow asked getting up from the bed. "Yes, will you um..." Fluttershy blushed looking away. Rainbow raised her brow. "You want to cuddle?" Rainbow smiled knowingly. Fluttershy nodded pulling the covers allowing Rainbow and herself to get comfortable. Rainbow wraps her arm around Fkluttershy and Fluttershy does the same back. "Goodnight Shy." Rainbow kisses Flutters noes fondly. "Goodnight Dashie." Fluttershy cooed snuggling as close as possible. Within minutes the two feel into a deep blissful sleep. Dream within a dreamFluttershy woke up with the birds chirping and the beautiful sunlight shining through her window. She sat up rubbing her eyes with a smile. She looked down to the spot beside her where Rainbow... Fluttershy's eyes dart fully open as she looks at the empty spot beside her. She tumbles off her bed and down the stairs in a desperate attempt to find her rainbow haired friend. She crashes into her mother as she steps off the final step. "My goodness Shy what's gotten into you?" Her mom speaks with concern. "M-mom where's Rainbow dash?" Fluttershy shutters at her moms blank expression. "Who?" Her mom raises a confused eyebrow. Fluttershy's face becomes paler than usual. "Honey I think you need to lay down, your acting delusional." Her mom guided her up stair. As the door closes Fluttershy collapses to her knees. Tears streaming down her face as she screams. Rainbow jumps out of her sleep at the sound of her girlfriends screams. She looks over to her as she watches her kick and scream. As if on instinct she shakes the girl awake. Fluttershys eyes dart open and the first thing she see's is Rainbows magenta ones staring worryingly back at her. Fluttershy shakes slightly and tackles Rainbow showering her with kisses. "Uh Shy not that I don't appreciate the kisses, but what happened?" Rainbow Dash chuckles nervously. "Oh Rainbow I thought I'd never see you again!" Fluttershy cries as her tears fall from her face onto Rainbows. Rainbow blushes as she see's Fluttershy straddling her. Trying to focus on what the girls saying all the while trying to sit up. "Er..F-fluttershy..." Rainbow finally spoke up after she couldn't take it any longer. "What is it Dashie don't you like this position?" A voice that Rainbow recognized as Fluttershy only more low in seductive spoke softly. Rainbows eyes bulged open as she looked up to what appeared to be Fluttershy. Her once teal eyes were now a shade closer to Rainbows own magenta one's, her hair slightly more spiked along with a smirk that Rainbow had never seen. "F-F-Flutt-" Rainbow was stopped by a finger pressed to her lips. "Shhh now we don't need my mom awake." Fluttershy said pushing Rainbow backwards. Rainbows mouth was in an o as she stared at "Fluttershy". Fluttershy smiled leaning in to Rainbows face. "Good girl." Her voice in a hush tone as she pins Rainbows arms above her head. Rainbow still couldn't speak nor think. "Oh Rainbow I've been waiting for this for so very long." Fluttershys sultry voice was making Rainbows blush become more noticiable. She lets out a giggle at how Shy her usual bold friend looked. "Rainbow..." "Rainbow..." "Rainbow!" Fluttershy shakes her girlfriend awake. "Huh?" Rainbows eyes opened as she jolts up. "Oh sorry my mom wants us to come down for breakfeast." Fluttershy spoke in her usual shy voice. Rainbow saw that she looked perfeactly normal. Teal eyes, smooth hair and bashful smile. Was it all a dream? "You must have been having a good dream." Fluttershy said. "Y-you could say that..." Rainbow blushed. Fluttershy giggled...just like in her dream. "Come on girls!" Fluttershy's mom said from downstairs. "We're coming!" Fluttershy spoke as her and Rainbow decended down the stairs. Rainbow being unusually quiet. Parent issue'sFluttershy and Rainbow walked quietly to Fluttershy's house. The sound of Rainbow's sneakers hitting the floor as she sped up was the only noise to be heard. As Fluttershy walked through the front entrance and up the stairs. No one would be home until around five. Once they finally reached her room, Fluttershy sat her book bag in the corner. Rainbow lazily sprawled out on the bed. The other girl sat quietly at the end of the bed waiting for Rainbow to speak. "Well I guess I can tell you now." The Rainbow haired girl let out a breath. Fluttershy wasn't sure what she was expecting to hear. Rainbow opened her eyes and looked over to her friend. "Look Shy I don't want you to look at me different after I tell you this...I've been kind of nervous to tell you." Rainbow tried to keep a calm exterior, but Fluttershy could tell the girl was nervous. "This morning I told my parents and I think you deserve to know" Fluttershy blinked at her friend with confused eyes. "Fluttershy I.." Rainbow didn't finish she simply looked down. Fluttershy put her hand on Rainbow's. Smiling at her reassuringly. "You can tell me anything Dashie." Fluttershy said softly. She thought she saw Rainbow blush, but maybe she was seeing things. Fluttershy's heart was beating like crazy. She wanted Rainbow to tell her. Not wanting to get her hopes up she pushed all her hopeful thoughts away. Rainbow finally looked up with her brows furrowed. "I'm a lesbian." Rainbow said. Fluttershy's eyes widened slightly. She knew by the look on Rainbow's face that when she told her parents things didn't go well. So she hugged her as comforting as possible. Rainbow didn't expect it as she stiffened in place. "Y-you don't think I'm weird?" Rainbow stuttered in shock. "No of course not." Fluttershy answered quickly. They stayed hugging for a good three minutes. When Rainbow pulled away to Fluttershy's dismay her eyes were slightly watery. Fluttershy looked at her worriedly. She of course seen Rainbow cry before, but this was far different. All she could do was return to hugging her tightly letting her friends tears soak her yellow sweater. InvitationThose who knew Pinkie pie knew it wouldn't be long until she threw her annual back to school party. Pinkie had a party for almost any occasion. Back to school, Halloween, Christmas, New Years, heck even Easter. It didn't surprise Fluttershy to see the pink envelop in her locker. She was surprised she didn't get the envelop sooner. It was Thursday and Pinkie normally had the party on Friday. As her long slender fingers opened the invitation she was surprised at what she saw. The party was Saturday not Friday. This seemed unusual and...suspicious. Fluttershy wanted to ask Pinkie at lunch why she chose Saturday instead. Unfortunately she couldn't spot her anywhere in the cafeteria. "Have you seen Pinkie pie?" She asked Applejack. "Sorry Sugarcube I haven't seen her since this morning." AJ said taking a bite of her sandwich. "Who are we looking for?" Fluttershy jumped as someone spoke behind her right in her ear. She turned meeting Pinkies excited blue eyes. The girl had a wide smile on her face and her untamed hair bounced every time she moved her head. "Hello Pinkie I was looking for you." Fluttershy said as she messed around with the invitation she had in her hand. "What can I do for ya?" Pinkie asked. "Well I was just wondering why your having your party Saturday instead of Friday." Fluttershy pointed to the date on the Invitation. Pinkie's face got serious for a moment before she busted out in a fit of giggles. Rainbow who overheard her laughter walked over to the two. "Hey what's so funny Pink's?" She asked glancing to Fluttershy for a moment. "S-she said she d-didn't know why the p-party was on Saturday." Pinkie said between laughs. Rainbow looked at Fluttershy again before she also couldn't hold back her laughing. Fluttershy felt dumb for asking as she watched her friends laughter dying down. She then felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked to Rainbow who had a smirk. "Look Shy thus party is going to be way cooler than the others." She said. "Pinkie's parents aren't going to be there and AJ's bringing cider." Fluttershy felt like a complete idiot as she looked down. Rainbow must have noticed because her face fell. "Hey Shy it's okay don't feel bad." She patted the other girls shoulder. "Yeah I mean it took Rainbow a minute too!" Pinkie pitched in. Rainbow rolled her eyes. Fluttershy smiled at her. "I'm okay." She sat beside Applejack again. 'I just hope I'll be able to convince mom to let me go.' She thought to herself. MistakesRainbow Dash was having the time of her life. She already had three cups of cider and felt like she was dancing on clouds. "Um...Rainbow?" Fluttershy spoke softly. "Yeah Shy?" Rainbow said "Do you wanna step outside with me?" Fluttershy asked stepping toward the door. She couldn't take being around so much people and she thought spending some alone time with Rainbow would be nice. They stepped out onto the balcony and as the cold breeze hit Fluttershy she instantly shivered. "Cold Shy?" Rainbow took off her jacket offering it to the other girl. Fluttershy blushed when Rainbows scent washed over her. "So um..are you having a good time?" Fluttershy started. There was silence. Rainbow looked at Fluttershy closely as if reading her. She held a playful smirk on her lips. "Hey Shy...ever thought about kissing a girl?" Rainbow asked leaning against the railing. Fluttershy blushed and turned her head. She didn't know what to do she was feeling conflicted. Rainbow was drunk that's why she suggested it. Right? Before Fluttershy knew it Rainbows lips connected to hers. She closed her eyes enjoying the feeling for only a moment before turning her head. She loved Rainbow, but she didn't want all this to happen only for Rainbow to forget or regret it. She decided to be responsible and stop it before she couldn't control it. Rainbows eyes widened and she backed away. "Oh shit Shy I'm sorry!" Rainbow said quickly. Before Fluttershy could respond Rainbow disappeared back into the crowded house. Fluttershys eyes teared up and she decided it would be best if she just went home instead of staying the night. She moved slowly through the crowded room. Trying her best not to shed a tear. As the door came in view she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned sharply to see Applejack. "You alright Sugarcube?" The blond haired girls concerned face made Fluttershy almost cry on the spot. She needed that comfort another person could give and she couldn't get it from Rainbow at the moment. Although she wanted to she instead ran out Pinkies front door. She sprinted the 15 blocks to her house. Once she made it to her house she snuck up the steps knowing her mom was already asleep. Once she made it to her room she collapsed on the bed letting her tears fall free. What if this changed her and Rainbow Dash's friendship forever. They could never be the same and how would Fluttershy be able to admit her feelings. Fluttershy's phone buzzed but she ignored it deciding to go to sleep away her troubles. Not that that will help... UnreasonableFluttershy woke up to her phone buzzing. She looked at it with tired eyes. 17 unread messages her eyes scanned the notification was in the corner. Two were from Applejack that read, "Hey Sugarcube you alright?" and "Do you need to talk about something?" Four from Pinkie pie saying the same thing, "Fluttershy where are you?" And the last eleven all from...Rainbow dash. All of them ended with "I'm sorry Shy." or "I didn't mean to." Fluttershy just couldn't take it anymore she dialed Rainbows number. It rung once...twice...three times before she heard the voice that brought her such sweet agony. "Hello?" Rainbow answered. "Rainbow I-" Fluttershy was soon cut off. "Fluttershy I'm at the door can I come in?" Rainbow said without any tone. "Y-yes, come in." Fluttershy said with a flushed face. Soon enough Rainbow peeked her head in the door. Fluttershy didn't look up as Rainbow Dash sat on the edge of the bed. "Look Fluttershy before you say anything I'm sorry!" Rainbow said while shaking. "But I-" Fluttershy started. "Look I didn't mean it last night like at all!" Rainbow said ignoring the fact Fluttershy was trying to talk. "Rainbow listen-" Fluttershy tried once more. "I don't even like you like that I promise!" Rainbow said blindly. Fluttershy then winced as her heart ached. It was silent for a moment before the rainbow haired girl cleared her troat. "Well Rainbow it's okay I didn't really mind , you were drunk and stuff." Fluttershy said trying not to cry. "Yeah I didn't know what I was doing." Rainbow said. This made Fluttershy look down and she let out a shaky sigh. "Um...I don't feel to good Rainbow can I just call you later?" She asked. "Yeah sure thing thanks Shy so...uh bye." Rainbow dashed out of the room. "She didn't even say she loved me..." Fluttershy whispered as she laid back down soaking her pillow in tears once more.
Last day of summer vacationFluttershy looked over at Rainbow's sleeping form. The two had spent there whole summer together hanging out and staying up late. It would soon be back to school to Fluttershy's dismay. Her face then saddened at the thought of being once again away from Rainbow Dash even if it was only one class period. Tears start to form in the girls teal eyes as she worried about them drifting apart like most friends do. Even worse Rainbow finding someone she liked. She tried to wipe the tears away as she saw her friend awake. Rainbow rubbed her eyes and then stretched lazily. Fluttershy tried her best not to look as the rainbow haired girls shirt lifted slightly showing off her toned stomach. "Geez Shy why didn't you wake-" Rainbow started before she caught a glimpse of Fluttershy's teary eyes. Rainbow quickly went to hug Fluttershy with a worried expression. Fluttershy couldn't hold it anymore and let the tears fall. Rainbow stayed silent still completely confused. "What's wrong Shy?" Rainbow finally asked. "Why are you crying so much?" Fluttershy let out a shaky breath as she pulled away from the hug. Her hair falling in her face as she contemplated what she wanted to say. Once she gained enough courage to speak she met Rainbow's eyes only to quickly look down again. Rainbow thought it was just Fluttershy's being her usual bashful self. "I don't want to lose yo-our friendship!" Fluttershy quickly caught herself. "I don't want us to drift apart and you find someone you'd rather be with." Rainbow blinked at Fluttershy's confession before putting a comforting hand on the other girls shoulder. "Look Shy no matter what happens you'll always be the most important person in my life." Fluttershy's face turns a slight crimson as she listen's to Rainbow in awe. "Y-you really mean that?" She knew the answer she just wanted Rainbow to say it. "Of course I do Flutter's you're my best friend and we tell each other everything!" Rainbow exclaimed with a genuine smile. Fluttershy's heart dropped remembering her deepest darkest secret that she wouldn't ever tell her friend. Rainbow was saying all this stuff and Fluttershy felt an urge to finally tell her the truth. "Rainbow there's something I need to say." She whispered only loud enough for the other girl to hear. "what is it?" Rainbow asked leaning in to make sure she could hear clearly. Fluttershy couldn't help but look down at the girls mouth then down at her own fidgety hands. Rainbow was so close to her she could hardly breath. Swallowing hard Fluttershy looked at Rainbow. "Rainbow I-" She was cut off by her mother opening the door. "Rainbow Dash your sister's here." Fluttershy's mom spoke softly with a light smile. Rainbow turned and smiled back at her. "Yeah can you tell her I'll be down in a second?" She asked as her eye's drifted back to Fluttershy. Fluttershy's mom laughed lightly and closed the door. Rainbow turned fully to Fluttershy whose face was practically the color of Rainbow's shorts. Rainbow waved a hand in front of her friend flushed face worriedly. "Um, Shy you were saying?" She asked with a chuckle. The Shy girl shook her head quickly. "Oh I forgot, you better go Rainbow Scootaloo and your mom are probably waiting." She spoke lowly her hair falling over her right eye. Rainbow moved the hair from her friend's eye. "You sure?" She asked concerned. Fluttershy simply nodded turning her head. Rainbow shrugged and quickly collected her belongings throwing them carelessly in her cyan book bag. Fluttershy watched her in silence. "Well I'll see you at school tomorrow." Rainbow said hugging Fluttershy. She waved out the window to her friend as the car pulled out of the driveway. After Rainbow left Fluttershy leaned against her bedroom door covering her eyes with her hands. She wasn't sure if she felt relieved or frustrated. On one hand she didn't ruin her friendship with her best friend, but on the other hand she would never get back the courage she had to tell her true feelings.
Back to schoolThe alarm buzzed in Fluttershy's ear making her jolt up. She sighed as she got ready for school. Looking in the mirror one last time with a determined smile as she headed out. Finally arriving at school she got a text from Rainbow Dash saying she would be coming in during lunch. So focused on the text she didn't notice someone in front of her. She crashed into them causing them to drop all the books they were both holding. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" The other girl said pushing up her glasses and helping Fluttershy pick up her books. "Oh no it was completely my fault I wasn't paying attention." Fluttershy said softly. The two girls helped one another and stood up in unison. Fluttershy looked down and kicked the ground lightly as they stood in awkward silence. "I'm Twilight Sparkle I'm new here." The girl offered her hand to Fluttershy and she shyly shook it. "Um....I'm Fluttershy." She spoke lowly only slightly audible. The warning bell rung and a heard of students came down the hall. Fluttershy and Twilight looked at eachothers schedule. They had homeroom third and fifth period together. Fluttershy felt very proud of herself. She finally made a new friend by herself. Sure Rainbow introduced her to Applejack and Pinkie Pie, but this was the first friend she made on her own. Perhaps this wouldn't be that bad of a school year. After forth Fluttershy and Twilight met up with her friends. Applejack was sitting in the far right with Pinkie Pie and another girl Fluttershy didn't recognize. "Oh hello girls this is Twi-" She was interrupted by the girl beside Pinkie Pie. "Twilight!" The girl got up giving Twilight a hug as she giggled excitedly. "Rarity?" Twilight hugged her back lightly. "I thought you were moving to Manehattan!" Manehattan." "Oh it's a long story Darling do sit down." Rarity said sitting beside Pinkie once more. Fluttershy raised an eyebrow as she looked around to find Rainbow Dash who was no where to be seen. "Have you seen Rainbow yet?" Fluttershy asked as her eyes continued to scan the cafeteria. "Who's Rainbow Dash?" Twilight rose an eyebrow at the unfamiliar name. "I am!" A voice came from behind Fluttershy. Fluttershy smiled and turned to meet Rainbow's eyes. She could instantly tell something was wrong, but she knew Rainbow probably wanted to tell her in private so she didn't ask. Rainbow tried her best to put on a smile and it fooled most, but not Fluttershy. Rainbow sat next to Rarity and smiled at the two new girls sitting with her friends. "Hey I'm Rainbow Dash but I guess you already know that!" She said proudly. Fluttershy smiled and took a seat next to her friends. After everyone was introduced they chatted for the remainder of lunch. Afterward Fluttershy and Twilight walked to there fifth period art class. The teacher seemed nice. She allowed the students to sit where they liked. Fluttershy decided to sit by the window and Twilight sat beside her. The late bell soon rang and Rainbow came bursting through the door. "Sorry I'm late I had to take care of some business." Rainbow explained as she took the empty seat next to Twilight. Fluttershy frowned ever so slightly, but corrected herself. -Come now Fluttershy it's your fault you took the window seat. Plus it's not like you have to worry about anything Twilight is a nice girl.- Fluttershy thought to herself fixing her attention back to the teacher. After the final bell rang Fluttershy decided to ask Rainbow what happened this morning. She ran to her locker and quietly . Rainbow Dash and her had seventh period together which was gym class, but Rainbow needed to talk to the coach and told Fluttershy to wait by her locker. Soon enough Rainbow came sprinting down the hall. Fluttershy couldn't help but smile at her friend. As she came to a stop at her locker she quickly did the combination with ease. Fluttershy just stood therr in silence. Her admiration toward her athletic friend went far beyond what Rainbow could ever think. If only she knew the truth. Rainbow grabbed her snapback and put on her sweater that said '20% cooler'. After closing her locker she turned toward Fluttershy with a smirk. Fluttershy blushed at the attractive rainbow haired girl "Uh...Shy?" Rainbow said with a raised eyebrow. "Oh um...sorry what?" Fluttershy smiled in embarrassment. "I asked if you were ready?" Rainbow said her voice seemed irritated or annoyed. "Oh yes I'm sorry " Fluttershy said looking down her heart hurt whenever Rainbow seemed aggravated with her "Look Shy I'm sorry I just had a rough day." Rainbow said sighing. "What happened earlier?" Fluttershy asked with a worried expression. "Lets get to your house first I don't really want to talk out in public." Rainbow had an unreadable expression as she walked out the school's glass door.
PerhapsOnce Fluttershy returned home her Mom was washing clothes so she just went to her room. Getting out her sketch book and putting headphones in she relaxed on the bed. She wasn't great at drawing , but she enjoyed doing it. It calmed her and let her express herself. She wasn't surprised that once she got done drawing it turned out to be another sketch of Rainbow Dash. She let her fingers trace the lines she made' a small smile formed on her face. Her mom walked in and sat some folded clothes on the bed. Fluttershy quickly closed her sketchbook. "Um..mom can I ask you something?" She said getting off the bed to put the clothes away. "Of course honey what is it?" Her mom asked. "Well Pinkies having a party Saturday and I wanted to know if I could go." She closed the dresser and sat back on the bed. "Yes ,what time are you going to be home?" Her mom asked already knowing the answer. "I think we're sleeping over." Fluttershy fiddles with her fingers. "That sounds find to me, Rainbow will be there right?" Her mom asked making Fluttershy raise an eyebrow. "Of course why wouldn't she?" She answered. "Good." That's all she said before closing the door. As if on cue Fluttershy's phone buzzed. She picked it up reading Rainbows number and instantly answered. "Um...Hello?" she said blushing for no reason. "Hey." Rainbow said with her usual tone. "So what's up?" Fluttershy paced the room. "Did your mom say yes?" Rainbow seemed eager to hear a response "Mmmhm." That's all Fluttershy could say as her eyes scan her sketch book. "Did I call at a bad time?" Rainbow asked. "Oh no, how was your day?" Fluttershy said quickly. That was a conversation starter Rainbow began to talk up a storm. Fluttershy didn't mind she loved hearing Rainbow talk. She smiled as Rainbow laughed at her own joke. She wished she could stay talking to Rainbow dash forever, but it soon became late. "Oh my goodness is it already 10?" Fluttershy yawned and laid in bed. Rainbow paused and Fluttershy could hear shuffling. "Oh well dang Shy you better get to bed." Rainbow said also yawning. "Your yawn is so cute." Fluttershy said then soon regretted it. "I don't do cute..I'm too cool for cute!" Rainbow said defensively. Fluttershy giggled at the pout in Rainbows voice. "Night Shy....I love you." Rainbow said. Fluttershy tried to talk normally as she blushed. How she wished Rainbow meant it in the way she wanted. "I love you too Dashie." She instantly hung up. Laying her head on her pillow and closing her eyes she tried her best to drift off to sleep.
TwilightAfter a while Rainbow seemed to avoid me. She started spending more time with the others especially Twilight. It's been three months now. Every time I invite her to my house she's either going over Twilights or she's busy. I sighed as I looked over at the two of them laughing and showing there drawings. I look down at my own art project. Once again it was Rainbow. Her eyes were always my favourite second to her smile at least. The way she curved the right side of her mouth. Another sigh escapes me. The art project was to draw someone you look up to and then at the end of the month we're supposed to give the person the drawing. I really hope she won't think it's weird. I felt my face heat up as my eye's look to her. -Rainbows POV- "So Twi do you maybe want to hang out tonight I kind of have something to tell you." My hands felt so clammy and my face felt slightly hot. "Sure after I study for exams." She said collecting her things. "Your such a nerd." I smirk. "It's pretty cute though." "You pick on me to much." She laughed. I frown as my flirting went right over her head like usual. I really like her, but she's so dense. The bell rings and I lean down to get my stuff on the ground. "Rainbow..." A small voice spoke behind me. I turn seeing Fluttershy looking very flushed. She always does that now probably because she feels awkward about our kiss. "Oh hey Fluttershy what's up?" I ask casually. "I was wondering if you and Scootaloo wanted to go tubing with me and mom this tomorrow." She started messing with her sleeves. I started to speak, but she quickly cut me off. "You could stay with me tonight if you want." She didn't look at me. "Actually Scoots is going over Rarity's to hang out with her little friend Sweetie Belle." I answered before I could finish she spoke again. "Well you can still come that is if you want to." She spoke quickly and a little louder than usual. "Well Twi is coming over so-" She turned when I said that making me stop. "Oh okay well I see you later." She runs off. I really feel bad that I've been avoiding her, but that's the only way I can move on and get over her.
TearsFluttershy walked in her house behind her mother. They had been tubing for 2 hours and she felt exhausted. "Too bad Rainbow couldn't come with us she really loves going down the fast hills." Her mom spoke taking off her snowy shoes. "Yeah, I think I'm going to take a shower mom." Fluttershy said changing the subject. "Oh okay I'm going to make some tofu and vegetables for dinner." Her mom said looking at her daughter in worry. Fluttershy didn't reply as she walked up the steps to prepare the shower. Once she finally decided to get out of the shower she put on her green pajamas and went in her room. As she brushed her hair she saw that her phone was blinking. A voicemail from...Rainbow Dash. Ten minutes ago that's odd. She was supposed to be with Twilight. Fluttershy finger hesitated above the play button for a moment before she finally pressed down. "H-hey Shy I need to tell you something important please let me know when you get home." Rainbows voice seemed a little down like she was holding back tears. As if on instinct Fluttershy clicked the return call button. The phone rang once, twice then the line connected. "Hey Shy..." Rainbow spoke lowly. "Rainbow is everything okay?" Fluttershy asked with worry. "Can you meet me outside?" Rainbow asked. Fluttershy didn't answer just ran down the steps practically jumping three steps as she sped out the door. Rainbow sat out on the curb and Fluttershy stepped behind her. The rainbow haired girl turned to meet the teal eyes of her friend. They stayed looking into one another's eyes not speaking. The wind blew gently causing Fluttershys hair to gently blow. Rainbow blushed gazing at the beautiful girl in front of her. She stood and gulped walking toward Fluttershy. "Rainbow what's going on?" Fluttershy asked. Rainbow hesitated for a moment to gather her thoughts. She then started laughing miserably. Fluttershys eyebrow arched as she looked at her friend who appeared to be off her rocker. "I really tried Fluttershy I did..." A single tear fell down the sporty girls cheek. "W-what do you mean?" Fluttershy asked. "I'm sorry..." Rainbow whispered balling up her fist. "Sorry for wh-" Fluttershy was interrupted by Rainbows lips connecting to her own.
Truth be told by a RainbowRainbow pulls away from the kiss and Fluttershy blinks in shock a light blush covering her face. "R-rainbow...?" Fluttershy squeaked. "I think I'm in love with you." Rainbow sighed. Fluttershy's eyes filled with tears and Rainbow quickly looked away. "I'm sorry I tried to avoid you and start liking other people but-" This time Fluttershy cut Rainbow Dash off with a kiss. Rainbow starts to melt into the kiss putting her arms around her friends back. Fluttershy let everything she's been holding back into the kiss. Wrapping her arms around Rainbow's neck. Once they both pulled away Rainbow smiled big at her friend. "So you like me to?" Rainbow asked. The shy girl simply nodded holding the rainbow haired girls hands. They both walked back to Fluttershys home. "Oh is Rainbow staying with us tonight?" Fluttershys mom said poking her head through the kitchen door. Fluttershy looked to Dash who smiled. "If that's okay with you ma'am." Rainbow said. "Of course now you two come in here and eat." The woman smiled at the two girls. Fluttershys mom and Rainbow did most of the talking during dinner but, Fluttershy didn't mind. Fluttershy laid her head on Rainbows shoulder and the other girl relaxed laying her head on top of Shy's. "I thought you liked Twilight." Fluttershy said breaking the silence. "I tried to get rid of my feelings for you but, in the end it didn't work." Rainbow replied. "How long?" Fluttershy looked at her hands that she started fiddling with. "Since middle school." Rainbow muttered. "What...Really?" Fluttershy looked at Rainbow in shock. "Yeah." Rainbow said. Fluttershy yawned and stretched slightly. "Tired?" Rainbow asked getting up from the bed. "Yes, will you um..." Fluttershy blushed looking away. Rainbow raised her brow. "You want to cuddle?" Rainbow smiled knowingly. Fluttershy nodded pulling the covers allowing Rainbow and herself to get comfortable. Rainbow wraps her arm around Fkluttershy and Fluttershy does the same back. "Goodnight Shy." Rainbow kisses Flutters noes fondly. "Goodnight Dashie." Fluttershy cooed snuggling as close as possible. Within minutes the two feel into a deep blissful sleep.
Dream within a dreamFluttershy woke up with the birds chirping and the beautiful sunlight shining through her window. She sat up rubbing her eyes with a smile. She looked down to the spot beside her where Rainbow... Fluttershy's eyes dart fully open as she looks at the empty spot beside her. She tumbles off her bed and down the stairs in a desperate attempt to find her rainbow haired friend. She crashes into her mother as she steps off the final step. "My goodness Shy what's gotten into you?" Her mom speaks with concern. "M-mom where's Rainbow dash?" Fluttershy shutters at her moms blank expression. "Who?" Her mom raises a confused eyebrow. Fluttershy's face becomes paler than usual. "Honey I think you need to lay down, your acting delusional." Her mom guided her up stair. As the door closes Fluttershy collapses to her knees. Tears streaming down her face as she screams. Rainbow jumps out of her sleep at the sound of her girlfriends screams. She looks over to her as she watches her kick and scream. As if on instinct she shakes the girl awake. Fluttershys eyes dart open and the first thing she see's is Rainbows magenta ones staring worryingly back at her. Fluttershy shakes slightly and tackles Rainbow showering her with kisses. "Uh Shy not that I don't appreciate the kisses, but what happened?" Rainbow Dash chuckles nervously. "Oh Rainbow I thought I'd never see you again!" Fluttershy cries as her tears fall from her face onto Rainbows. Rainbow blushes as she see's Fluttershy straddling her. Trying to focus on what the girls saying all the while trying to sit up. "Er..F-fluttershy..." Rainbow finally spoke up after she couldn't take it any longer. "What is it Dashie don't you like this position?" A voice that Rainbow recognized as Fluttershy only more low in seductive spoke softly. Rainbows eyes bulged open as she looked up to what appeared to be Fluttershy. Her once teal eyes were now a shade closer to Rainbows own magenta one's, her hair slightly more spiked along with a smirk that Rainbow had never seen. "F-F-Flutt-" Rainbow was stopped by a finger pressed to her lips. "Shhh now we don't need my mom awake." Fluttershy said pushing Rainbow backwards. Rainbows mouth was in an o as she stared at "Fluttershy". Fluttershy smiled leaning in to Rainbows face. "Good girl." Her voice in a hush tone as she pins Rainbows arms above her head. Rainbow still couldn't speak nor think. "Oh Rainbow I've been waiting for this for so very long." Fluttershys sultry voice was making Rainbows blush become more noticiable. She lets out a giggle at how Shy her usual bold friend looked. "Rainbow..." "Rainbow..." "Rainbow!" Fluttershy shakes her girlfriend awake. "Huh?" Rainbows eyes opened as she jolts up. "Oh sorry my mom wants us to come down for breakfeast." Fluttershy spoke in her usual shy voice. Rainbow saw that she looked perfeactly normal. Teal eyes, smooth hair and bashful smile. Was it all a dream? "You must have been having a good dream." Fluttershy said. "Y-you could say that..." Rainbow blushed. Fluttershy giggled...just like in her dream. "Come on girls!" Fluttershy's mom said from downstairs. "We're coming!" Fluttershy spoke as her and Rainbow decended down the stairs. Rainbow being unusually quiet.
Parent issue'sFluttershy and Rainbow walked quietly to Fluttershy's house. The sound of Rainbow's sneakers hitting the floor as she sped up was the only noise to be heard. As Fluttershy walked through the front entrance and up the stairs. No one would be home until around five. Once they finally reached her room, Fluttershy sat her book bag in the corner. Rainbow lazily sprawled out on the bed. The other girl sat quietly at the end of the bed waiting for Rainbow to speak. "Well I guess I can tell you now." The Rainbow haired girl let out a breath. Fluttershy wasn't sure what she was expecting to hear. Rainbow opened her eyes and looked over to her friend. "Look Shy I don't want you to look at me different after I tell you this...I've been kind of nervous to tell you." Rainbow tried to keep a calm exterior, but Fluttershy could tell the girl was nervous. "This morning I told my parents and I think you deserve to know" Fluttershy blinked at her friend with confused eyes. "Fluttershy I.." Rainbow didn't finish she simply looked down. Fluttershy put her hand on Rainbow's. Smiling at her reassuringly. "You can tell me anything Dashie." Fluttershy said softly. She thought she saw Rainbow blush, but maybe she was seeing things. Fluttershy's heart was beating like crazy. She wanted Rainbow to tell her. Not wanting to get her hopes up she pushed all her hopeful thoughts away. Rainbow finally looked up with her brows furrowed. "I'm a lesbian." Rainbow said. Fluttershy's eyes widened slightly. She knew by the look on Rainbow's face that when she told her parents things didn't go well. So she hugged her as comforting as possible. Rainbow didn't expect it as she stiffened in place. "Y-you don't think I'm weird?" Rainbow stuttered in shock. "No of course not." Fluttershy answered quickly. They stayed hugging for a good three minutes. When Rainbow pulled away to Fluttershy's dismay her eyes were slightly watery. Fluttershy looked at her worriedly. She of course seen Rainbow cry before, but this was far different. All she could do was return to hugging her tightly letting her friends tears soak her yellow sweater.
InvitationThose who knew Pinkie pie knew it wouldn't be long until she threw her annual back to school party. Pinkie had a party for almost any occasion. Back to school, Halloween, Christmas, New Years, heck even Easter. It didn't surprise Fluttershy to see the pink envelop in her locker. She was surprised she didn't get the envelop sooner. It was Thursday and Pinkie normally had the party on Friday. As her long slender fingers opened the invitation she was surprised at what she saw. The party was Saturday not Friday. This seemed unusual and...suspicious. Fluttershy wanted to ask Pinkie at lunch why she chose Saturday instead. Unfortunately she couldn't spot her anywhere in the cafeteria. "Have you seen Pinkie pie?" She asked Applejack. "Sorry Sugarcube I haven't seen her since this morning." AJ said taking a bite of her sandwich. "Who are we looking for?" Fluttershy jumped as someone spoke behind her right in her ear. She turned meeting Pinkies excited blue eyes. The girl had a wide smile on her face and her untamed hair bounced every time she moved her head. "Hello Pinkie I was looking for you." Fluttershy said as she messed around with the invitation she had in her hand. "What can I do for ya?" Pinkie asked. "Well I was just wondering why your having your party Saturday instead of Friday." Fluttershy pointed to the date on the Invitation. Pinkie's face got serious for a moment before she busted out in a fit of giggles. Rainbow who overheard her laughter walked over to the two. "Hey what's so funny Pink's?" She asked glancing to Fluttershy for a moment. "S-she said she d-didn't know why the p-party was on Saturday." Pinkie said between laughs. Rainbow looked at Fluttershy again before she also couldn't hold back her laughing. Fluttershy felt dumb for asking as she watched her friends laughter dying down. She then felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked to Rainbow who had a smirk. "Look Shy thus party is going to be way cooler than the others." She said. "Pinkie's parents aren't going to be there and AJ's bringing cider." Fluttershy felt like a complete idiot as she looked down. Rainbow must have noticed because her face fell. "Hey Shy it's okay don't feel bad." She patted the other girls shoulder. "Yeah I mean it took Rainbow a minute too!" Pinkie pitched in. Rainbow rolled her eyes. Fluttershy smiled at her. "I'm okay." She sat beside Applejack again. 'I just hope I'll be able to convince mom to let me go.' She thought to herself.
MistakesRainbow Dash was having the time of her life. She already had three cups of cider and felt like she was dancing on clouds. "Um...Rainbow?" Fluttershy spoke softly. "Yeah Shy?" Rainbow said "Do you wanna step outside with me?" Fluttershy asked stepping toward the door. She couldn't take being around so much people and she thought spending some alone time with Rainbow would be nice. They stepped out onto the balcony and as the cold breeze hit Fluttershy she instantly shivered. "Cold Shy?" Rainbow took off her jacket offering it to the other girl. Fluttershy blushed when Rainbows scent washed over her. "So um..are you having a good time?" Fluttershy started. There was silence. Rainbow looked at Fluttershy closely as if reading her. She held a playful smirk on her lips. "Hey Shy...ever thought about kissing a girl?" Rainbow asked leaning against the railing. Fluttershy blushed and turned her head. She didn't know what to do she was feeling conflicted. Rainbow was drunk that's why she suggested it. Right? Before Fluttershy knew it Rainbows lips connected to hers. She closed her eyes enjoying the feeling for only a moment before turning her head. She loved Rainbow, but she didn't want all this to happen only for Rainbow to forget or regret it. She decided to be responsible and stop it before she couldn't control it. Rainbows eyes widened and she backed away. "Oh shit Shy I'm sorry!" Rainbow said quickly. Before Fluttershy could respond Rainbow disappeared back into the crowded house. Fluttershys eyes teared up and she decided it would be best if she just went home instead of staying the night. She moved slowly through the crowded room. Trying her best not to shed a tear. As the door came in view she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned sharply to see Applejack. "You alright Sugarcube?" The blond haired girls concerned face made Fluttershy almost cry on the spot. She needed that comfort another person could give and she couldn't get it from Rainbow at the moment. Although she wanted to she instead ran out Pinkies front door. She sprinted the 15 blocks to her house. Once she made it to her house she snuck up the steps knowing her mom was already asleep. Once she made it to her room she collapsed on the bed letting her tears fall free. What if this changed her and Rainbow Dash's friendship forever. They could never be the same and how would Fluttershy be able to admit her feelings. Fluttershy's phone buzzed but she ignored it deciding to go to sleep away her troubles. Not that that will help...
UnreasonableFluttershy woke up to her phone buzzing. She looked at it with tired eyes. 17 unread messages her eyes scanned the notification was in the corner. Two were from Applejack that read, "Hey Sugarcube you alright?" and "Do you need to talk about something?" Four from Pinkie pie saying the same thing, "Fluttershy where are you?" And the last eleven all from...Rainbow dash. All of them ended with "I'm sorry Shy." or "I didn't mean to." Fluttershy just couldn't take it anymore she dialed Rainbows number. It rung once...twice...three times before she heard the voice that brought her such sweet agony. "Hello?" Rainbow answered. "Rainbow I-" Fluttershy was soon cut off. "Fluttershy I'm at the door can I come in?" Rainbow said without any tone. "Y-yes, come in." Fluttershy said with a flushed face. Soon enough Rainbow peeked her head in the door. Fluttershy didn't look up as Rainbow Dash sat on the edge of the bed. "Look Fluttershy before you say anything I'm sorry!" Rainbow said while shaking. "But I-" Fluttershy started. "Look I didn't mean it last night like at all!" Rainbow said ignoring the fact Fluttershy was trying to talk. "Rainbow listen-" Fluttershy tried once more. "I don't even like you like that I promise!" Rainbow said blindly. Fluttershy then winced as her heart ached. It was silent for a moment before the rainbow haired girl cleared her troat. "Well Rainbow it's okay I didn't really mind , you were drunk and stuff." Fluttershy said trying not to cry. "Yeah I didn't know what I was doing." Rainbow said. This made Fluttershy look down and she let out a shaky sigh. "Um...I don't feel to good Rainbow can I just call you later?" She asked. "Yeah sure thing thanks Shy so...uh bye." Rainbow dashed out of the room. "She didn't even say she loved me..." Fluttershy whispered as she laid back down soaking her pillow in tears once more.
