"The cakes!" Pinkie screamed as she franticly overturned trays and lifted cupcakes. Fluttershy ran in.

"Pinkie!" She said with alert, "Did something happen to Mr. and Mrs. Cake?"

Pinkie giggled, "No, I just felt like screaming that and checking the cakes. But I just caaaaan't wait to deliver these cakes to all of those smiling orphan ponies! The looks on their faces will make me lots of new friends who I'll cherish forever."

"That's really nice Pinkie..but where are Mr. and Mrs. Cake anyway?" Fluttershy asked with her usual quiet tone.

"Probably somewhere around. I'll go check." Pinkie said as she bounced away.

"FLUTTERSHY WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" Pinkie screamed from the other room while poor Fluttershy held her ears, "SHOULD I COME IN THERE TO TELL YOU?"

Without waiting for an answer, Pinkie bounced in as if nothing had happened.

"The. Cakes. Are. Gone. I repeat. The. Cakes. Are. Gone. We must find them!" Pinkie said as she jumped behind the counter, as if she would go missing too.

"Oh..Pinkie..I um, maybe they're only out somewhere else in Ponyville." Fluttershy looked at her wrist as if it had a watch, "Oh dear, look at the time. I better get going to feed Angel and the other animals. See you soon."

Fluttershy made a dash for the door, but Pinkie grabbed her.

"This is serious Fluttershy! I need your help to find the Cakes so we can deliver the cakes!" Pinkie giggled at the end of her lecture.

"Can't deliver the cakes without the Cakes." Pinkie giggled as she caught Fluttershy trying to tiptoe out the door.

"B-But Pinkie Pie...what if Angel, um, get's hungry?" Fluttershy asked in a desperate attempt to avoid Pinkie's shenanigans.

"Don't you worry about Angel! In fact, I'm bringing Gummy along for more company!" Pinkie interrupted Gummy's endless staring, grabbed him and put him under her arm for safekeeping.

"Let's get searching!"

~~~
Pinkie overturned tables and chairs, crouched lower on the ground than Gummy and somehow got on the ceiling to look for clues with her magnifying glass.
"Pinkie...I'm just gonna go..." Fluttershy whispered as she tiptoed to the door. Lucky for her, Pinkie Pie was too busy inspecting a cupcake with light blue frosting. Fluttershy inched out the door, but forgot Hearths Warming Eve was in two days. That combined with the bitter cold snow forced her back in.
"Think I can borrow a coat?" Fluttershy asked helplessly as Pinkie inspected the same cupcake.
"Clue!" Pinkie shouted with joy as she showed Fluttershy her hoof. It was a hair of Mrs. Cake's pink mane, with a smudge of frosting on it.
"Pinkie..." Fluttershy muttered, "It must've fallen off when Mrs. Cake passed by. It's barely a clue."
"I'll have Gummy hold on to it," Pinkie said as she stuck the hair in between Gummy's teeth, "But now we need to look for more clues! Fluttershy, check in Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cakes' cribs. Maybe those two little devils hid the Cakes there!"
Just to be nice, Fluttershy went into the foals' room, but didn't search. She simply tiptoed in, took a peek, then left. The two were fast asleep, so Fluttershy didn't bother them. She knew Pinkie would stomp through like Cerberus, so she was happy to let them sleep soundly.
"They weren't there," Fluttershy said as she trotted back into the room, only to find Pinkie inspecting yet another cupcake, "Just the two little angels. Speaking on angels, I need to go home to feed Angel. Bye bye Pinkie." Fluttershy tiptoed to the door.
"But Fluttershy!" Pinkie said desperately, "The Cakes and I are super excited to give these cakes to the orphan ponies on Hearts Warming Eve. How can I give them the cakes all by myself?" To end her speech, Pinkie pulled the saddest puppy eyes ever and held Gummy out in front of her, as if his stare were cute and adorable. This was apparently cuter than Angel, Pinkie at least.
"Ok ok," Fluttershy sighed as Pinkie jumped for joy, "This does sound awfully important to you. I'll help again."
As Pinkie inspected cupcakes, Fluttershy looked in every room in the house, besides the Baby Cakes' room.
"The Cakes aren't in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, other bedroom or closet," Fluttershy reported when she returned.
"And they're not in the red cupcake, blue cupcake, yellow cupcake, pink cupcake or maroon cupcake!" Pinkie groaned.
"M-Maybe I should look for clues and you can search the house..." Fluttershy suggested.
"Hmm...Okay!" Pinkie said as she bounced into the kitchen with Gummy on her back staring at the wall. Fluttershy began to clean up the mess Pinkie had made when she found a note under a table from one of Pinkie's freak outs. Fluttershy picked it up. It read:
Dear Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie,
We're going out to the hat shop and the costume shop. We've decided that you'll put on a play for the fillies and colts while they eat the baked goods that were bringing. We should be back before sundown.
Sincerely, Mr. and Mrs. Cake
"Wowza!" Pinkie exclaimed as she read the note, "Mystery solved!" Just then, the Cakes walked in.
