I woke up alone, again. Pinkie Pie had gone but she left a tray of muffins and a simple note saying only "Thanks".

"Look my scouts have seen a small caravan coming from one of the smaller villages heading for the main force. If we're quick we might be able to get ahead of it and take a look. Ya in?" Flying along like that I was almost able to forget our troubles for a short while. But soon enough I could see smoke rising from other parts of Equestria reminding me of what we were in for.

Partway there we were met with a batch of reinforcements from Cloudsdale, the last free city in Equestria (Other then Ponyville of course.), Changelings had tried to take it early in Chrysalis's attack but without the goblins support they were beaten back.

Finally we came to a ridge overlooking where they cavern would pass, we settled down to wait its arrival. Before too long it came into view a couple wagons pulled by what looked like badly beaten Earth ponies and a couple dozen goblins. To my surprise they did not appear to be shielded against me. Either Chrysalis could not shield all her minions or she was simply concentrating on certain ones. I motioned the others to stand down. We'd waited too long and we had too many wounded, nopony was willing to leave behind their loved ones. We were all going down together. And maybe that would have been fine... But we knew a worse fate was waiting for anypony they captured, even the fallen. You've seen what they do. They eat us! Not only that they seem to relish in torturing and cruelty." Her voice got real low, her head hung down.
