Like A Puppet In Suspention

It was dark in ponyville when a lone Pegasus mare sped through the streets towards the outskirts of town. She was glancing behind her every now and again as she galloped out of ponyville with the little bundle in her hooves. As she ran out of the town the flapping of wings could be heard following behind her as five pegasi followed close behind. She ran for the Everfree forest but just as she was about to enter she was tackled to the ground by one of the pegasi. The bundle in her hooves fell to the ground with a cry as it hit the ground. As the mother fought with the pegasi she did not notice one of them pull out a knife and sneak up behind her. As the pegasi snuck up behind her they raised the knife and brought it down stabbing her in the head killing her instantly. As one of the pegasi made they're way to the crying foal they heard a sound from inside the everfree. It sounded like something walking towards them. As the sound got closer it started to sound like running. They paused and listened. Finally a shape appeared at the edge of the everfree. it looked like a minotaur but was too skinny. as they looked they heard a female voice in they're head. "you five reek of death and sin tell me why have you killed this mare?"

"She was the mother of a freak" spat one of the braver pegasi. "And what would you do with this child?" "She will follow her mother in death!" "No you five will leave this place at once or suffer the consequences of your actions" "And who are you to give us orders?" spat the Pegasus. "who am I? why I am just a puppet with no strings." at this the five decided that the creature and foal were not worth their time and left leaving the foal with the "puppet". "don't worry little onesaid the puppet as she picked the foal up "I will protect you".
