The Cupid Pony (Hearts and Hooves Day Special)
Today is the day, for Hearts and Hooves Day! Everypony in Ponyville begun to hang out with their special somepony. After having a great time during Hearth Warming Eve, Roland Gen got out of the train station and begun walking around the town. He glanced around as everypony was doing something special for their special somepony. He sighed and while having a forced smile, he can't help that he felt.......alone.
I wonder if I'll find a special somepony to fall for.....he glanced up in the sky. Roland Gen, aka The Chronicler of the Bionicle series, and Golden Flare's BFFL (Best Friend For Life) have always been a wallflower in his colt years. He always been focused on his Chronicler job as he tried to ask a mare out, but due to his shyness and awkwardness, it was hard for him to find love so he gave up on it.
C'mon, Roland, you can't think about that. Beside, Golden said that the girls need help on setting up the Annual Hearts and Hooves Day Festivals. he shake those thoughts and trotted to Sweet Apples Acres where ponies are setting various hearts decorations up along with tents.
"Hey, Roland!" a voice was heard as Roland turned and saw Golden calling him as he trotted to him.
"Hey, Golden. Where're the girls?"
"Well, Twilight and Applejack working on the list of the events, Pinkie and Fluttershy are doing the party planning, and Rarity and Rainbow working on the banners." Golden explained.
"I see." Roland nodded then notice somepony is missing. One of which is Twilight's personal student.
"Where's Starlight?"
"Well you can say that Starlight is dating my brother so they gone to Canterlot to spend time with each other." Golden replied as Roland nodded.
"Why you go see Twilight? She might find a spot for you to work on." Golden said as he nodded, he trotted to the stage as Twilight is checking on the list.
"Princess Twilight." Roland called as she turned to him and gave a small smile.
"Hey, Roland, glad you can make it." Twilight said.
"I see that you girls got this handle." he looking at the stadium as ponies are working on the stages.
"Yeah, but there's some that we need to work on the rodeo events that Applejack is working on." she said as they both headed to the left, unnoticed, from a bush, two eyes open and glance at them and giggled.
While Twilight levitate some hay bales, Roland Gen and Applejack pushing the barrels of cider to the stand near to the rodeo.
"Thanks for helping out with this, Roland." Applejack wiping a sweat from her forehead.
"It's no problem, I'm glad I can help you with anything for the festival." Roland replied.
As they got the last stack, Twilight came to them with a list "All right, that should be it for the rodeo event."
"Great, I'll get Big Mac and Applebloom to get the cider ready." Applejack said as both nodded.
As they walk around the festival, Roland glanced at Twilight. The beautiful mane, the gorgeous eyes, and the cute smile, he blushing red as he realize what he's doing and shook those thoughts off and turn away.
C'mon, Roland, you can't fall for Princess Twilight Sparkle. She's the Princess of Friendship for pete sake! She'll never fall for a simple pony like me!
"Is everything all right, Roland?" Twilight asked snapping out of his berated mind.
" Oh.....uh, well, I'm fine..." he gave a force smile which she shrugged as he sighed quietly and focus on heading to help Golden and Pinkie. Unnoticed, Twilight glance at him and having deep thoughts and a blush in her cheek.
Once they made it, Golden was helping Pinkie making her special 'Strawberry Supreme Red Velvet Cupcake' as he got the cupcake set as Pinkie working on the frosting.
"Oh, there you two are!" Pinkie wave at them.
"How's Applejack's rodeo going?" Golden asked them.
"Everything all set for her." Twilight said as they begin helping out with Pinkie and Golden. Both stallions working on baking the cupcake as for Pinkie and Twilight, working the frosting.
"So any idea of what this festival is going to be for?" Roland asked placing the next batch to the mares. "I know it's to celebrate Hearts and Hooves Day but is there more to it?"
"Yeah, you see Shining Armor and Princess Cadance are coming to be the guest of honor the Hearts and Hooves festival." Twilight said, doing a heart shaped frosting.
"Really?! Awesome!" Roland said.
"Yep, Pinkie asked them to be the guest of honor for the festival for foals to teach them about the true meaning of Hearts and Hooves Day." Twilight explained.
"I can't wait to see them. It's been a while seeing them after the Hearth's Warming Eve." Roland said with excitement as he headed back inside of the tent.
As they continue making the cupcake, Twilight spot a filly with a curly mane of light pink and light purple nuzzle around a colt with a spinner hat and a vermillion and light orange mane walking around the festival.
"Sweetie Belle?" Twilight cocked her head in confusion as both foals coming towards the cupcake tent.
"Hi Twilight." Sweetie Belle said.
"Hey, how are you?" Twilight asked.
"Good, just spending time with my lovely dopey Button Mash." Sweetie Belle nuzzle him as Twilight raise an eyebrow on those pet names.
"Oh thanks, my Sweetest, lovely, beautiful pony pie." Button Mash return the nuzzle which Twilight hesitate at this.
"Anyway, one cupcake please?" Sweetie Belle asked with a bit on her hoof. Decide to find out, she took the bit and gave one of the cupcake which both hopping away as she watches them going to a table.
"I wonder what's gone into her?" Twilight wonder as she heard hoof steps and she turn to the left and saw Applebloom and Scootaloo running.
"Aw man, where are they?!" Applebloom exclaimed.
"I don't know but we need to find them!" Scootaloo said.
"Scootaloo? Applebloom? What's going on with Sweetie Belle?" Twilight asked.
"Well......" Applebloom begin explaining to her what happen.
Flashback
"While the Crusaders and I helping Rarity with the design tent, we decide to walk around since she said that she'll be working on her dresses. As we pass to one of our classmate, something hit Sweetie Belle's lump and Button Mash's. We came to her side and asking if she's all right, but suddenly she stares at him lovely as both starting to acting what happen to Big Mac and Miss Cheerlie."
Flashback end
Twilight was surprised. Sweetie Belle just fallen for a colt just 5 minutes? And given what happen at the last Hearts and Hooves Day that Big Mac and Miss Cheerlie fallen under a love poison (which the CMC made by accident), they acting in a similar fashion to them.
"I bet that the Cupid Pony is behind all this." Roland's voice was heard as the others turned to him with confusion.
"The Cupid Pony?" Twilight asked
"Yeah, there's some rumors from other ponies that in every Hearts and Hooves Day, a mysterious pony begin spreading love around everypony upon using magic. They say that the Cupid Pony's magic is equivalent to a Love Poison."
"I heard about those rumors too from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon." Applebloom thought as Scootaloo nodded too.
"Please, there's no such thing as a Cupid Pony." Twilight said in a scientific tone.
"And those are just rumors, Roland, they can't be real."
"Well, other ideas of how Sweetie Belle and her 'crush' going gaga towards each other?" Roland pointed to them, sharing milkshake with each sip while lost into their eyes.
"Okay, maybe I should do some investigation on this." Twilight said.
"If you need some help, I'll go with you." Roland said earning a surprise from her.
"But Roland don't you....."
"Don't worry, I'll tell Golden about this. He'll understand." he replied.
"Thanks Roland." Twilight gave a small smile not to mention a small blush on her cheek.
After telling Golden about helping Twilight, he and the Princess walking around the park after gather information from the CMC that the Cupid Pony mostly likely make it's move there.
Roland, carrying Twilight's bags, glanced around the area "This is the place."
He set the stuff down as Twilight open it up and got a device and turn it on "Okay with this device, I can trace any love magic around the area and if possible, the Cupid Pony will appear."
"But how would we know the Cupid Pony is here?" Roland asked "There's a bunch of love magic around."
"Well, from my device, it can scan the area of natural love magic. And if there's an abnormal love magic, then the Cupid Pony will appear." Twilight explained as Roland nodded.
"So now what?" he asked.
"We wait." Twilight sat down on her haunch as Roland laid on the grass area.
After a few minutes, Roland sighed and looked at Twilight, working on her device. The sun ray sent her eyes, coat, and mane sparkle like a star in the galaxy stars. Wow.........she does look amazing.....Roland blushing upon his mind seduced by her beauty.
"Roland, you all right?" her voice snapped him out of his trance as he shook his head.
"Huh? Oh well, um, fine, fine, heheh......" the young storywriter pony stammers which the princess raise eyebrows at him and shrugged.
After that he sat up and glance around the park, seeing everypony hanging out with their special somepony which Roland sighed. Then he glance at her as confused, the princess also glanced at the same direction.
"Something wrong, Twilight?" he asked.
"Nothing, Roland." Twilight replied however, even for a young storywriter pony know that something is nagger her mind.
"Twilight, even though I'm not the Element of Honesty, I can see that something is wrong with you."
She sighed "Well, I'm not into romance when I move to Ponyville. I want to take time to learn more about Friendship, even I got my eyes onto one pegasus stallion during one of my adventures."
"Oh...." Roland felt sadden upon hearing that.
"But.....I'm always focused on my responsibility, that I got little time for it and I'm not certain if I can find somepony to fall for."
"I guess you and I are in the same boat......" Roland mumbled quietly.
"What?" Twilight glanced at him.
"I-I'm mean, I'm certain that you'll find your special somepony, Twilight." Roland quickly changed the subject with a nervous smile.
Then the device beeping loud as both looked at the device as it shown a huge magical reading of abnormal love magic on the right.
"Looks like the Cupid Pony is on the move!" Twilight said as both gallop to the direction.
On the Town Square, most of the ponies were strangely glancing at each other, loving and starting to calling pet names, nuzzle their nose, and other lovely dopey stuff. Twilight and Roland looked at the ponies as they see their eye iris were shaped into hearts along with a pinkish glow on them.
"We're getting closer." Twilight said as they turned right, the device shown a pink dot closer to their location at the marketplace.
Both of them looked around as they saw a stallion and a mare nuzzle at each other. Behind them, a pony was wearing a cloak and by size, it must be a mare. Nopony can see from the smile from her muzzle as she turned, Twilight shouted.
"Hold it right here!"
She stopped and turned to them as Twilight readied her magic as Roland prepared himself.
"I don't know who you are, but it's time you stop putting ponies under a love spell." Twilight said.
The Cupid Pony chuckled and said "My, my, my, Princess of Friendship, what do you mean? All I did was helping ponies find love and look how happy they are."
"Happy?" Roland narrowed his eyes "You call this happy? You trapped them into a love spell and they don't know if they're truly felt that way! Love comes from true feelings and genuine emotions, not from attempted alchemy and magic!"
The Cupid Pony laughing then glanced at Roland "Oh that. Sorry, but those Hearts and Hooves Day's lessons doesn't suit my needs to spread love."
"Either way, we'll stop you from putting more ponies under your love spell." Twilight said.
"Then you better catch me!" The Cupid Pony unfurled a pink energy wings and flying into the sky. Twilight flapped her wings and chasing her in the sky, leaving Roland behind to watch the battle.
Trading magic beams at each other, Twilight dodge of the Cupid Pony's light pink magic as she fire her only for her to use the clouds as cover then conjure heart shaped magic arrows and fire at her. She perform a barrier and block the attacks and fire her magic again but the result is the same. With quickly reflexes, the Cupid Pony levitate a cloud and throw at Twilight which she blocked it, only from behind using a teleport spell, she fire her magic as Twilight was hit, squarely in the chest, and plummet to the ground.
Roland widened his eyes, saw the Princess of Friendship falling down "Twilight!"
He rushed quickly as he jumped and quickly got her in his hooves. He glanced at the unconscious princess as he shake her to wake up "Twilight? Twilight, are you okay? C'mon, Twilight, wake up."
Her eyes begin to stir as she glance at Roland who smile at her "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Twilight got out of his hooves as unnoticed from, a lovely smile was formed "Thank you, my lovely hero."
"Huh?" Roland cocked his head in confusion and also a blush was formed.
"Now I think about it, maybe having the Cupid Pony around isn't that bad. I mean we could use little more love around right? Especially somepony handsome and very cute as you, Roland." Twilight open her eyes as Roland widened his eyes at the sight of her eyes iris become hearts and glowing with pink energy.
"Twilight, while I appreciate of flirting with me, snap of it! This isn't you!" Roland backing up away from her as she walking slowly towards him "You know better that what true love is!"
"Yes I do, and now I'll teach what the Cupid Pony taught me." Roland was about to run, a pink aura frozen him as Roland grunted, trying to move.
"Twili-" Before he tried to speak, Twilight place her lips onto his', as Roland blushing red while she wrapped her front hooves around his neck while kissing him. Roland's eyes begin to take shaped into hearts and glow the same energy as her's. After a few minutes, both separate as Roland having a love sick expression at her.
"You know what? Maybe you're right. Having the Cupid Pony isn't a bad thing." he said as both headed to the festivals. Behind them, the Cupid Pony smile at her accomplishment.
At the cupcake tent, Golden and Pinkie finished decorated a cake, with Pinkie placing the last top of the decoration on top.
"There we go!" she wiped out her sweat as she slide down the ladder.
"All right, the Ultra Strawberry Supreme Red Velvet Cake is done for Shining Armor and Princess Cadance for the guest of honor." Golden said.
"Pretty impressive if I say so myself, huh, Goldie?" Pinkie said.
"C'mon, Pinks, you always know how to impress me." With that, Pinkie gave a quick kiss on Golden's cheek as he blushing a bit while scratching his mane.
Then something came up as he look around the festival "Say, should Twilight and Roland be done on finding this Cupid Pony?"
"I don't know, Goldie. Usually, Twilight always not into those rumor stuff since she's mostly into rationally stuff." Pinkie replied.
"Yeah....." As he look around, he spotted two familiar ponies coming back "There they are!"
Golden and Pinkie rushed to both of them but they stopped once he saw Twilight and Roland nuzzling each other.
"Twilight? Roland?" the red pegasus was bit surprised yet confused "Um, are you two all right?"
Roland then glanced at his best friend "Yeah, I'm just spending time with my lovely dopey princess."
"What?" Pinkie raise an eyebrow at that pet name.
"C'mon, my cutie pie, we better get something to eat." Twilight said, earning another confusion to him.
"Okay." Roland then kiss Twilight's cheek which Golden and Pinkie felt weird at this sight. Since when both of them became a couple today?
"We better get going, Golden and Pinkie. Bye." With that, both of them bounced around leaving the two behind.
"Something isn't right, Pinks. Roland and Twilight are best friends but even they wouldn't go that high level of friendship since they only met one month ago." Golden said.
"Do you think that the Cupid Pony might had to do something with them?" Pinkie asked.
"I don't know, but it's a possibility." Golden replied. "Plus if Shining Armor see this........"
"Golden! Pinkie!" a voice was heard as Golden flinched a bit as they turned as they notice Princess Cadance and Shining Armor.
"Princess Cadance! Shining Armor!" Pinkie waved at them
"It's good to see you again, Pinkie." Princess Cadance said then glanced at Golden "Golden Flare, glad to see you again."
Retaining his cool, he gave a smile at them "It's good to see again, Princess Cadance."
"Looks like you and the others already got the festival going." Shinning Armor glanced around the festival.
"Yeah, we did. And we just got done with the cake." Golden replied.
Shining nodded then notice somepony is missing "So where's Twily?"
Golden sweatdropped at this. He can't let him know that Roland and Twilight are acting smitten towards each other. His imagine if that happened :
Shinning Armor grabbed a sword and begin chasing Roland around the town, with his face pasted in anger.
"Roland, keep your hooves off my sister!" he angrily said as Roland screamed the top of the lungs.
"Well, the thing is......" Golden tried to explained-
"Oh, both Roland and Twilight are under some kind of love spell and begin smitten towards each other." Pinkie pipped.
"Pinkie!" Golden placed his hoof onto her mouth but it was too late as both were shocked at this, especially Shining Armor.
"Wait, Twily and Roland are under some kind of love spell?!" Shining Armor asked.
Sighed at this, Golden nodded.
But instead of being angry at his best friend, he shown concern to them "But how did that happened?"
Golden explained of how both Twilight and Roland decide to investigate in finding the rumored 'Cupid Pony' after encounter with Sweetie Belle. What surprise is Princess Cadance furrowed her eyebrow.
"We don't know if the Cupid Pony is real or not, but we do know that Roland won't intentionally fall for Twilight since they just only met a month ago." Golden explained.
"Actually, the Cupid Pony is real, Golden." Princess Cadance said as the others turned to her.
"Wait, you mean she's real?" Pinkie asked as she nodded.
"The Cupid Pony is a pony who using forbidden love spells to trapped ponies into an unending love spell almost similar to a Love Poison but much worst." Princess Cadance explained.
"Wait, how worst?" Golden asked worriedly.
"The victims who been hit by the Cupid Pony's magic will fall towards another one upon seeing them. They mostly transfer that magic to them through a kiss and place them in the same spell. Once that happened, they'll remained like that even after Hearts and Hooves Day passed but if left unchecked, it'll drained off their magic and place them under coma."
"WHAT?!" Pinkie and Golden exclaimed in unison.
"But how did you know this?" Golden asked.
"Because at one point, in the Crystal Empire, there have been reports of Crystal Ponies are under a coma. Most of the doctors explained that they were infected with abnormal love magic which causing their minds to shut down. Shinning Armor and I tried our best to help with the patients after King Sombra is defeated years ago."
Both Pinkie and Golden turned towards each other, mortified at this information.
"Where the last time you saw them?" Princess Cadance asked.
"Just on the left of the festival." Pinkie pointed to that direction.
"Then we need to get to them quickly!" With that, the four rushed to find Twilight and Roland and stop the Cupid Pony.
At the left side of the festival, Rarity working on a heart shaped basket while Rainbow practicing on the sky.
"There we go." Rarity finished the last one and set on the side with 10 basket made. She then levitate another piece of yarn and sewing it only to find that she's starting to ran out of fabric soon.
At the same time, a voice was heard "Rarity!"
She turned and saw Spike with a wagon of colored fabrics and set on the side.
"I got the extra fabric from your boutique you requested. Along with the gems too."
Rarity raised an eyebrow which Spike sighed.
"And yes, I didn't ate all of them."
Rarity giggled and pulled the wagon into the tent while nuzzled him then a kiss on the cheek which Spike fainted.
"Thanks so much Spike. Now we just need to finished 20 more for the Hearts and Hooves Festival's Pegasus Grand Prix."
Spike got up quickly as Rarity placed some gems onto the finished basket.
Spike notice Rainbow racing Thunderlane along with other pegasus ponies as she crossed the finished line which most of the pegasus ponies stopped flapping their wings, giving them a break.
"Seems like Rainbow is excited for the Grand Prix." Spike said.
"Well, she's going to be part of the exhibit match with the Wonderbolts so she thought of helping the pegasus ponies that signed up get some exercise before the main event."
Spike nodded as he continued helping Rarity with the basket.
Meanwhile, the pegasus ponies breathing a bit before a whistle was heard as Rainbow swoop down with a coach hat.
"All right, ponies! If you want to prove who can beat me in the Pegasus Grand Prix, then you better flapped your wings and ride the wind!"
All of the ponies nodded except for one pegasus pony who's breathing heavy, trying to catch his breath.
"Can.....I.....just.......take......" Thunderlane asked in breaths but Rainbow interrupted.
"Uh uh, Thunderlane! This is an important event for the Wonderbolts to see!"
Thunderlane groaned as having an annoyed expression.
Meanwhile at the top of the clouds, the Cupid Pony conjure a magic bow with magic arrows with heart shapes on the end as she focus on her aim at Thunderlane's rump. With a quick pull from the arrow, she locked on to it then as Rainbow continue lecturing, she released it as in quick speed, hit the target.
"YOWWW!" Thunderlane yelped as the arrow dissolve into him as he rubbed his rump.
"Thunderlane! Don't interrupted when I given a lecture!" Rainbow scolded at him as he about to say something, his eyes turned into hearts and glow upon staring at Rainbow.
He nodded and hold a dreamily smile "Sorry, I won't make you mad again."
Rainbow cocked her eyebrow in confusion as she was about to say something -
"YOWWWW!!!" Rainbow yelped in pain as she rubbed her rump as the effect takes hold on her.
Then one by one, all of the racer pegasus ponies were hit by the same arrow and fallen under the spell, going lovely-dopey on each other.
Spike noticed this as he got Rarity's attention and point to the event.
"What in the name of chamomile is going on?" she asked.
"I don't know, they starting acting......strange." Spike replied.
Then hoof steps was heard as they turned and saw Golden, Pinkie, Shining Armor, and Princess Cadance coming.
"Shining Armor! Princess Cadance! You guys made it!" Spike said.
"Good to see you again, little bro. But we got things to worried about!"
"Well, we got other things to worried about too." Rarity pointed as they widened their eyes at the racers going gaga at each other.
"Not good! Rainbow is under a spell too!" Pinkie said.
"Spell?" Rarity asked as they explained about the Cupid Pony, which widened their eyes at the information they processed.
"Wait, what about Twilight? We can-"
"She's already under a love spell too! Even Roland Gen too!" Golden finished Spike's sentence.
"Then we better find the others before the Cupid Pony reach them too!" The others nodded as they dashed out of the tent and trying to find the others.
As they reached to the festival center, the group were shocked at this sight : everypony in the festival all under the Cupid Pony's love spell. Each of them were floating in unscientific reason, sharing milkshakes, nuzzle their nose, and other lovely dopey things.
"Not Good! Not Good!" Spike panicked.
"Everypony is all under the Cupid Pony's love spell!" Pinkie said.
Golden glanced as Applejack and Fluttershy were under the same spell, nuzzling two stallions.
"Even Applejack and Fluttershy too!" Golden said.
"Is there anyway to snapped all of them off?" Rarity asked.
Princess Cadance was about to speak when another voice was heard "You can't snapped them off, dear."
The ponies and Spike turned and saw the Cupid Pony smirking under the hood.
"The spell will remain as long as my magic course through each and everypony that I placed on."
The ponies and Spike got into a battle stance as all of them glared at her.
"Oh, Shining Armor and Princess Cadance, it's good to see you again. Like my lovely gift for the Crystal Ponies?"
"Not exactly!" Shining Armor readied his horn "You endangered them using that petty spell and now you placed them on my sister and my friends!"
"This is gone too far Cupid Pony! Release all of the ponies you placed under their spell!"
Shining Armor blasted his magic at her only for her to dodge it.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. What made you think that I'll release them? Look how happy they are! Finding their true love towards each other by my magic." Cupid Pony said.
"You wrong, Cupid Pony!" Princess Cadance unfurled her wings and readied her horn " Love through magic doesn't win anypony's heart! It's only their genuine feelings that will!"
"Always been the high and noble are you, Princess Cadance." Cupid Pony replied.
"Well in that case, show me which one of our views is right for everypony!" She unfurled her pink energy wings and charging at her, readied her horn firing her magic.
"I got this!" Shining Armor conjure a magic shield and deflect the magic bolts. Unfortunately, the magic bolts rebounded and headed straight towards Golden and Pinkie.
"Look out!" Both Spike and Rarity pushed them out of the way as they were hit.
"Rarity! Spike!" Golden shouted.
"Go help Shining Armor........and Princess......Cadance......" Spike tried to speak as his eyes begin to changed shaped into hearts.
"Hurry.......save...........every......." Rarity's eyes finally turned into hearts as well as Spike too as they going gaga for each other.
"No!" Pinkie shouted.
Golden grunted then turned to see the battle. He turned to Pinkie as she nodded as they rushed into the battle to help them. As Shining Armor and Princess Cadance defend and attack repeatedly, the Cupid Pony kept dodging and firing their magic at them only to rebound by Shining's magic shield. Just as the Cupid Pony launch another magic, flying cupcakes splat at her side, losing her focus as she turned and saw Pinkie with her party cannon and Golden loading another one into the cannon.
"Oh so the couples want to fight me don't you? Then I give them a taste of their medicine!" She firing their magic even with Princess Cadance pushed her off her aim. Shining Armor tried to rushed towards them as both Golden and Pinkie widened their eyes at the incoming love magic beam as the magic hit them.
"Golden! Pinkie!" Shining Armor shouted as their eyes begin to changed shaped into hearts but each of them grunted as the pink aura dissipate.
"WHAT?!" the Cupid Pony shrieked at this "My magic! It doesn't work on them!"
Shining Armor and Princess Cadance stare in wondered as Pinkie fired a stick batter at the Cupid Pony who didn't react in time and got caught into it.
"Rggggh! Let me go!" she struggled to get out.
All of them gather around the Cupid Pony as Shining Armor said "Now time to see under hood of the Cupid Pony."
He use his magic to pull our the hood as the Cupid Pony's face revealed : a unicorn pony mare with a red velvet mane and a curly mane.
"Sweetheart Rose?!" Princess Cadance asked in shocked.
"You know her?" Golden asked as she nodded.
"She's been Princess Cadance's colleague and classmate since Canterlot Academy." Shining Armor turned to her "You're the Cupid Pony?"
She only grunted turning them away "As if I ask you."
"Sweetheart, why? You've been a good friend to me back at the academy but then after graduation, you and I lost contact to each other."
"Why?! Because, you stole him away from me!" she glared at her while pointing at Shining Armor which widened in surprise.
"What do you mean, Sweetheart?" Shining Armor asked. "Why do you think that Princess Cadance stole me away from him?"
She sighed "Ever since that you came Shining Armor, I always having a crush on you. You're the only pony that I fallen for as such, I want to ask you on the Fall Formal Gala as my date. However, when Princess Cadance ask you out first, I was heartbroken and such, you left me when you two having a great time to each other. I tried to at least make Shining Armor my best friend since you two became a couple, but I unable to because of how you enjoying time with her. Thus, I became resentful of her and decide to severed all ties with you and him."
The ponies were shocked at this story but most important, both Shining Armor and Princess Cadance were sadden. They never knew that Sweetheart develop feelings for him but they never realize it.
"But what about the spells that you cast on everypony?" Golden asked.
"That was a love spell that I studied from Star Swirl after I stumble upon it in the Canterlot Library. Every Hearts and Hooves' Day, I've seen ponies without any special ponies and because of my goodness to my heart and the past still linger, I decide to use that spell to find love for them. Thus I taken the name of the Cupid Pony and I begin spreading love on every Hearts and Hooves' Day so that nopony would ever suffer from the same fate I did."
"Sweetheart, I can understand why you did but doing so won't make everypony truly happy." Princess Cadance said.
"And what make you say that?! You don't know how you and him know how broken I am because you didn't share the times and adventure you and him to me!" Sweetheart shouted.
"Look, we're sorry for not seeing the pain you carried for so long, but you need to let it go and move on." Shining Armor tried to console her.
"How can I? I tried that before but every time, I kept thinking about you and her and it drives me mad!" she screamed.
"I know and you need to give it some time, Sweetheart. I know that I didn't realize your feeling for me and I know that I meant the whole world to you, but from experience, I learned that even with strong feelings and going lengths to do it won't work in the end, if they made a decision, you need to accept with good nature and maturity. I fallen for Cadance and now I already made my decision to be with her." Shining Armor said which she sadden by it.
"However, " he raise his hoof to her "I would to be your friend to you, Sweetheart."
"Same thing." Princess Cadance raise her hoof too as tears from Sweetheart drips down as she hesitated at first but she finally grasp both of them.
The touching moment was interrupted by a cough as the others turned to Golden and Pinkie.
"Uh, that's great that you've now changed but -EVERYPONY STILL UNDER THE LOVE SPELL?!" Golden reminded as he point to the love spelled bind ponies.
"Oh right. Let me use my magic to reverse it." Sweetheart tried to move up but realize she still stuck "After getting that batter off of me?"
After a quick minute of Pinkie finished the cake battered in 10 second (which everypony was surprised), Sweetheart focus her horn as a blue magic aura appeared and created a shocked wave across the festival, snapping everypony out of the love spell.
"Huh?"
"What?"
"Eh?"
At the same time, Rainbow and Thunderlane was nuzzling each other until the blue wave hit them snapping them off as they shook their heads and glanced at each other which both blushing red as Thunderlane nervously walking away.
"Uh, well um-"
'SMACK!'
"Ugh! Yuck!" Rainbow disgusted and slapped his muzzle knocking him to the floor.
Meanwhile Sweetie Belle and Button Mash sharing noodles as they about kiss, the blue wave snapped them off as they taken the same expression which both scooted away from each other blushing madly.
As for Spike and Rarity, they too were blushing at each other after they been snuggle at each other.
For Twilight and Roland, both close their eyes and move their heads towards each other until the blue wave hit them, freeing them from the love spell.
Both open their eyes as they widened in surprise and yelped away from each other blushing.
"Uh, T-Twilight?! Did we-you and I- were- I'm so sorry!" Roland stammers crazy
"Roland! I-well- didn't mean-I'm so sorry!" Twilight stammers.
Both turned to Golden and Pinkie coming to them along with Shining Armor and Princess Cadance with Sweetheart Rose with lots of explaining of what happen.
At the festival, now being finished, everypony was enjoying the time. Princess Cadance and Shining Armor were telling story they come up with to the foals about Hearts and Hooves' Day, Rainbow was racing with the Wonderbolt and the pegasus ponies in the Hearts and Hooves' Pegasus Grand Prix, Pinkie presented to the bakers of her masterpiece which all of theirs' jaw dropped down, Applejack coaching ponies on the rodeo event, and Rarity made special creations for everypony, a special kind Hearts and Hooves' basket and Fluttershy helping the foals on a petting zoo.
Golden walking around the festival, glad that everything is back to normal as he glance around at his friends spending time with each and everypony.
Then he saw Twilight came with Shining Armor and Princess Cadance "Enjoying the festival?"
"Yeah, even though that everypony panicked once we free everypony from the love spell Sweetheart placed upon." he replied. "Speaking of which, what happened to Sweetheart Rose?"
"She's at the amphitheater, telling a story she called the Cupid Pony." Princess Cadance said as all chuckled "Basically all the events that happened but with her own taste to it."
Twilight noticed somepony is missing as she turned to him "Where's Roland?"
Golden's smile turned to a sadden expression as he sighed "Well, he's at the orchards. He's feeling guilty for fallen in love with you even though it was a love spell that made him that way."
"Didn't you tried to console him?" Shining Armor asked.
"I did but no luck." he shook his head.
That cause them to worried as Twilight glanced at the orchards and with some thought, she said "I'm going to talk to him."
She flapped her wings and head to the orchards.
Meanwhile, Roland sat down resting his head on his hooves. Memories linger as the Cupid Pony's love spell made him fallen for Twilight as he tried to stop it but no avail. Once he's free, he felt guilty for doing that to her believing that she might end their friendship.
"Roland." a voice was heard as he turned and saw Twilight coming towards him.
"Twilight. Should you be checking everything to make sure the festival is well?" he asked.
"Well I already done it 35 times and my brother and my sister in law suggest for me to enjoy the festival." Twilight sat down next to him as he looked away, sadden.
"Roland, listen what you and I did, it's not our fault. It's the Cupid Pony- I mean Sweetheart Rose's fault for placing the love spell on us." Twilight said.
"I know, but still, that was still me who doing all that........" Roland said.
"It wasn't our free will doing it, just the love spell that's messing up our mind." Twilight said but that didn't nothing to help him.
Twilight place her hoof onto his shoulder "Please Roland, you shouldn't blame yourself for what you did."
"Still, it is. I can't even forgive myself that I won't able to tell you something once we stop the Cupid Pony."
"Tell me about what?" Twilight asked.
"That I actually fallen for you." Roland said as Twilight widened her eyes with a blush.
"Yes I want to tell you about it. Even though we just met and spending time with the others for two months, I starting to enjoy being with you. You're smart, kind, assertive, brave, magically talented, organized, and beautiful. I admire of what you and your friends done so much that I just want to be like you."
Twilight was blushing to her face burning with crimson at those kind words that Roland is saying.
"You really meant that?" Twilight asked as he nodded.
"But then why didn't tell me about it?"
"Because I want to know what my heart and feelings is true. Plus, I want to spend more time with you so I can know you better and......." he close his eyes tears coming from him. "I'm worried that you wouldn't fall for a simple Chronicler like me. I've been alone and even I tried to find a special somepony, I've always been shy and awkward not to mention busy of my job, so I gave up of finding one."
Twilight wasn't unsure of this as she looked away, trying to figure out what she'll say. Then her heart felt skipping a beat as she listen to it, she understand what she felt about him.
"I understand if you don't feel this way, Twilight. I just want to let it out since I bottled it for too long. I don't want to lose you-"
Roland's sentence was interrupted as Twilight hugged him. Roland was surprised at her response as his mind unable to respond, his heart told him and he hugged her.
"To be honest, I was confused when I met you, Roland. You have a good heart, full of not only kind, caring, passionate, and a strong will, but also from the Bionicle stories, Unity, Duty, and Destiny. I thought at first, you're another storywriter but the times you and I spend, I too enjoy being with you."
Roland glanced at Twilight, seeing the sparkle from her eyes.
"In a sense, I want to tell my feelings to you. That I want to be your special somepony if that's okay with you?"
Roland was surprised beyond words at her honest expression. Then he smile and nodded.
With that, both of them move their heads closer and as they planted their lips onto each other's. Then they wrapped their hooves around each other's neck/waist as they continue kissing each other in the moonlight.
At the cupcake tent, Golden and Pinkie served the last cupcake as he turned to his marefriend.
"So you ready to tell them about it?" he asked.
"Goldie, I'm certain that the others will handle it." Pinkie reassure him as they closed the tent as they gather their friends and even Shining Armor and Princess Cadance.
"All right, Pinkie and Golden. This better be important." Rainbow said.
Pinkie nodded as glanced at the group only to find two ponies missing.
"Hey, where's Twilight and Roland?"
"Right here, girls." Roland called out as the others turned and saw Roland holding Twilight's hoof.
"Oh no! Not again! Roland and Twilight are under the Cupid Pony's love spell!" Pinkie cried jumping in midair.
"Pinkie, calm down, we're not." Twilight reassure her which she stopped at midair.
"You see, Roland and I, well......." Twilight blushing "after a few words, we uh........."
"We fallen for each other and now we're a couple." Roland finished.
The others were surprised but after a few silence, all of them cheered at them.
"Well dang, congratulation." Applejack said.
"Oh I'm so proud of you two darlings." Rarity said.
"Congratulation you two." Fluttershy said.
"So awesome!" Pinkie cried.
"Just don't go mushing around on me." Rainbow said.
As for Shining Armor, Golden feared that Shining Armor would get angry at him but instead he walked towards him and smile.
"Well, I'm glad that Twily found somepony special so you better take good care of her or else."
Roland nodded as Princess Cadance came to them.
"Twilight I never knew you'll find love just like you want to find a handsome stallion knight when you're a little filly."
"Princess Cadance!" Twilight's cheek blushing intensely as the others laughed. Roland came to Twilight's side and nuzzled her which she returned it.
"So that's everypony is here, we got some big news to tell you." Golden said.
"What's going on, Golden?" Roland asked.
"For years, Pinks and I been a couple, spending time with each other, and now after a few thought, we finally decided."
"What?" all of the ponies asked.
"Pinks and I are getting married today."

So this is my Hearts and Hooves Day special and it's going to connect to Golden Flare's OC story. This is going to take some inspiration from Littlest Pet Shop episode, The Secret Cupet and also from Kim Possible episode, Emotion Sickness (give credit to Golden Flare for that Kim Possible idea).
