"Damn bus... damn parents," I thought to myself as I sat down at a bench to wait for a bus home. "Can't freaking drive here and get me."
My parents dropped me at friend's house to stay for awhile. My parent's bad planning had also gotten me stranded, and using my OWN money to get home. I had a cell phone, but I didn't feel like talking to my mom just then. The streetlights flickered on at their regularly scheduled time. signaling night was approaching.
"Just my luck. I live in downtown Memphis, and it's night time."
Just then, my cellphone rang.
"Mweza, I'm sorry. I thought your dad could pick you up. You have money, right?"
"Yeah mom, i'll be fine. I'll use the bus."
"Alright. I love you son, Be safe, okay."
"Okay mom."
I closed my phone. "Bitch."
"I'M TIRED OF LIVING WITH THEM! I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ON THIS PLANET ANYMORE!" I shouted to no one in particular.
I sat back down, It wasn't like anyone would help me with that. I looked down at the worn down corner where I was sitting at. I kinda wished someone would kidnap me now.
*THWACK*
I awoke, and found that I was in a bed, it was night still, probably closer to mid morning though.
"Well, at least i'm not dead." I thought.
"Moshi, go check on our guest."
"Moshi... why does that name ring a bell?"
Before I could find an answer to my question, a white little creature came running through the door, and pounced me.
"Mrow!"
"Ah!" It was licking my face profusely.
"I think our guest is awake? I should greet him"
Just as soon as I could pry Moshi off my face, An old man who was wearing glasses, and balding walked in.
"Ah, you're awake, good to see..."
"Who are you?" I asked.
"You can just call me The Professor." he said.
"Alright... Can you get your do- cat... Whatever it is off me?"
"Moshi. Come here."
With that the thing got off my face and went to the professor.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"You're on my ship."
I decided to look out the window. What I saw shocked and moved me almost to tears. We were floating through an almost eternal expanse of just about every color of the rainbow.
"We're not in Water!" The Professor said sarcastically.
"Good observation. We're crossing dimensions."
I ran to another window. Big mistake. I fell to the floor groaning in pain.
"GAH! My head!" I cried.
"You were attacked. I saved you. That's why you're on my ship."
"Okay." I picked myself off the floor and stood face to face with him. I was just a bit taller than him at 5'3.
"Well, If you're done staring at the beauty of the universe, I've got something to tell you. Come with me."
I followed the professor into a mostly white room filled with computers. Everything was going off.
"Why does it look like a laser light show in here?"
"Because we're screwed," he deadpanned.
"What do you mean."
"Well, I've haven't got enough power to sustain this ship for much longer. Basically, we're going to crash without power."
"What power source does this thing use?"
"Cells. Crystalline energy pretty much."
"Huh. So did you run out?"
"No. I was robbed."By the CosmoNOTs.
"Who are they?"
"An Intergalactic Terrorist Organization, hell bent on using the cells for evil."
"Why don't they just mine for more? You said these are crystals right?"
"They would, but these are the only ones in the universe. They are extremely rare."
"So are we going to get them or what?"
"NO. I'm too old. You are."
"WHAT!?"
"Hey, I did rescue you. And space isn't too forgiving of an environment."
"Professor, you've got to be kidding me!"
"I mean this."
"O-okay. How are we going to go about doing this?"
Go to that bedroom you were in, there should be some clothing in a closet. Try some of them on."
"How is clothing going to help me?"
"Just trust me."
"Fine.".
I went to the room and found the closet. There were several sets of clothing. I saw a chef's outfit. I put it on. Loose and flowy, just like one of these should be.
I walked back into the room.
"Alright, I'm in a chef's outfit. Do you like to molest boys in nice clothing?"
The Professor glared at me. "Go make something to eat."
"Alright old man, I don't think a chef outfit will help me. You better keep a fire extinguisher on hand. this ship is made of you know."
The Professor simply waved me off. I walked out of the room to do the task assigned to me. I found the kitchen after a bit of searching, located some ingredients, and cookware, and got to work.
I started out with cutting some vegetables.
"Here goes nothing."
Instead of cutting off my precious digits like I envisioned, was chopping them like they do in cooking shows, extremely quickly.
My hands moved of their own accord. Slice after slice, I even knew the temperatures for the recipe. Before I knew it, I had made a delicious (If I say so myself) chicken, and vegetable stew. I grabbed two bowls out of some cabinets and poured my stew in them.
"Professor! Dinner's ready!" I shouted from the other room.
"Alright, I'll be there In a second."
After a few moments, The Professor and Moshi walked in. The Professor poured moshi some food in a dog bowl and he joined me at the table.
"So kid, lets see what you're capable of."
"Hmm... Not half bad. Terry did better though."
"Who's Terry?"
"Just some kid I used to know."
The Professor seemed pretty distracted. I decided to find out more later. I finished my stew and decided, if I was going to help The Professor, I would need some sleep.
"Hey, I'm gonna go to bed okay?"
"Yeah, alright."
"Poor guy must be out of it today." I though to myself.
I went back to the bed I woke up in. It was really soft, I fell asleep almost immediately.
AN: I wrote this because I was listening to contact ds music, and their was no story about it. I kinda want this to be an HiE fic... I'll figure something out.
