Twilight has grown comfortable living in her new castle in Ponyville. But the Princesses, in particular Celestia, have been worried about the fact that there are no guards to protect the new Princess of Friendship. Twilight has tried to reassure them that she does not need them, but in light of all the recent incidents that had occurred around Ponyville in recent months, they convince her that it is something she needs to have.

Twilight now faces the task of forming a unit that will exclusively serve her and her alone. And with recruits coming in from all the corners of Equestria, the unit will soon come to be one of the most diverse and most loyal of any guard unit ever formed.
