Chapter 1 : That Just Happened

Vinyl Sctarch, much better known by her stagename DJ P0N-3. Definitely one of the best when it comes to modern music. Classic music, however, was her roommate's forte. Octavia, one of the few, if not only  earth pony to make it big in the inner circle. Tavi, as Vinyl liked to call her, was normally off in Manehattan, notorious for being the center of high society and organized crime. About 300 times as safe as Los Pegasus, living with a higher-up in the Crips, rivaled by the Bloods and the Royal Guard. It kinda sucked being where Vinyl was, getting where ever she lived shot up as soon as word got out about it, running around with a 3000 bit bounty, and having dodged guards more than once. More than she could count, for that matter. Luckily Tavi was always gone, on one side. Not lucky that she herself couldn't be, on the other hand. She had enough enemies all across Equestria, didn't need to lose her friends.

Poor guys, the two suits that knocked on her door. Shouldn't have had those Tommy guns out. Like always, when someone knocked, Vinyl brought a 12 gauge to the door. Once she opened, she couldn't help but noticing them while her own gun was behind the barely ajar door.

"Miss Scratch, please come with us."

"Why, exactly?"

After an exasperated sigh, he continued. " Please, ma'am, don't make this hard."

"Well, you don't know me."

"You have two seconds to get out here."

"How about two shells?" With that, she threw the door open, brought the shotgun up, and with one loud pop and a splatter of blood, the first one was on the ground, face completely gone and a piece of skull in her electric blue mane. While the other one was busy grabbing something from a smaller holster, she brought the gun on him, cocked it, blew it just like the first guy, and with the sound of rushing air, everything went black.

Now she was here. Tied up in an oddly fancy chair for this setting, from personal experience. Comfy, too. Preparing for the single, dramatic light to come on, she was already pooling spit in her mouth. Just like she predicted, she soon saw she was in a solid concrete room in front of an important-looking person in a brown suit, slightly short but still aged, and a matching bowler hat.

"Well, then. Seems you were quite the problem to acquire, but we have you now. Tell me, about how much do you know about your roommate?"

Going through the routine she'd developed for these situations, she spat right in the man's face, then the question hit her. "I swear if you lay a finger on her, you won't live to see anymore family, because you'll be the only one of your pathetic family tree left. The rest is going right in a fire to keep some war veteran alive." Preemptively dodging the slap that didn't come, she tried to throw the chair back to break the delicate-looking wood, to find it was chained to bolts in the ground. However, she felt the back nearly break.

"You know, this suit is worth more than your life." For the first time in a while, she got properly bitch slapped. Her shades only held by the string under her hair.

"Vinyl Scratch, pleasure. Introductions aside, why the fuck an I here?"

"Well, seems you are a good point of weakness for a certain enemy of ours."

"Who, my dad? Because I highly doubt you would have a grudge against either Photo Finish or Hoity Toity."

"Well, no. You see, Octavia-"

"Let me guess. She's always here for, like, some mafia business, and you guys are the rival mafia, or whatever the fucking term is."

He seemed stunned for a second, then confused. "Wait, you knew?"

"Wait, I was right?!"

"You guessed.?"

"Was that a question or statement."

"It was your dead grandma now shut up and look scared for the damn camera."

"Go fuck yourself, I've been here before. I already have a plan." She twisted to the right, and broke the back of the chair off and the ropes loosened enough for her to slip out. A big mistake for tying someone to a chair is have only one piece of rope. rolling off the back of the chair, she freed herself from the rope, and jumped to the side from a flying fist. She then jumped and slammed her knee into his chin. With a grunt, he staggered back. She managed to grab his revolver from his holster in his shoulder, and center the sight on him.

"Well, then. Seems you should really consider getting more stable chairs for tying up professional criminals. That really didn't work out."

"I noticed. You kinda managed to get my gun, could I have that back please?"

"You can have, let's say, a bullet." With that, she pulled the hammer back as if to shoot, but knew that would alert the others in the building, as he couldn't be alone here.

"Woah! Wait, wait, let's talk about this."

"Get me out of here alive and I'll return the favor."

"Fine, just-" He was interrupted by the gunshots outside of the room.

"Well, guess I might be getting rescued."

"Seems so."

"You want off the hook, right?"

"Your gonna help me?"

"Nope." An awkward silence, and the door burst open revealing a very surprised Applejack. Wait, AJ?!

"Ah, whelp, she seems to have things, well, under control sugarcube."

"Vinyl!" That was what she expected, not Applejack. Octavia came running through the door, and into a hug that Vinyl had not dropped her gun for. The guy she was aiming at, however, did go a bit quiet considering what she thought he would normally do.

AJ broke the silence. "Well, well. Whadda we got here?"

The man seemed slightly worried. "Touch me, and die. Flim and Flam won't stop to get me back."

"Well, they'd better get ready to go through Celestia for that, sugarcube." With that, she fired what Vinyl only noticed was a Magnum, twice into the man's head. While that was going on, she decided to catch up on some things.

"Tavi, we have some catching up to do, I'd think. How about we trade a few questions."

"Go ahead."

"First off, what just happened?"
