The Age of the Princesses is over, their deeds now living on only in legend. Stories tell of a perfect world, a time of greatness hundreds of years ago that the inhabitants of this fallen world look towards in hope. But the Equestria of that time is dead, broken and shattered like the world it was built upon, bathed in the light of a now-chaotic sun.

Yet, hope has a way of surviving in even the bleakest of circumstances. The inhabitants of this unforgiving place are not so easily ended. In the shards of old Equus, life still endures as well as it can.

In this difficult time and place, a young freighter captain and her crew struggle to make ends meet. Trying to survive in the wildest regions of the Expanse, they will find themselves instead thrust into events that will shake the foundations of their whole world.
