Chapter 1
Load Full StoryI could feel the wind rush past my face as I ran. My heart was going faster than a Wonderbolt at a air show. I could hear the pounding paws of the Timberwolves closing in on me as a ran. I picked up my pace, knowing that the price for stopping would be certain death. I felt one nip the tip of my tail and I tucked it under me and ran faster. I could see the edge of the forest getting closer, knowing that the Timberwolves rarely leave the forest I decided that that was my best bet. Making a mad dash towards the opening of the forest, I leapt through it throwing myself onto the grass. I quickly got back up and looked back to see of they were following me, only to see them glare at me before turning around and leaving. "Yeah, you better run assholes!" I shouted at them. I turned back and noticed a town in the distance.. Pulling out my map, I looked near me and saw a town named Ponyville. "There it is" I thought to myself, and I put my map away and walked towards the town.
Ponyville seemed to be your average quaint little town. Thach roofed cottages, places to eat and hang out, and lots of different ponies. I heard the ponies back in Phillydelphia talking about it saying it was a nice place full of friendly faces, a perfect place for a stallion like me. I mean I loved Phillydelphia, there was so much that a pony with a lot of free time could do there. However, I just needed to get away from it all. All the ponies knew who I was an feared or hated me for it. You see, my job choice is one that most ponies would find very unsettling. I was an assassin, one of the greatest ones there ever was, and they knew that. I couldn't even look out my front window without somepony giving me a dirty look or have fear in their eyes. But hey, it may be unsettling to most, but it pays well! Up to about 50,000 bits depending on the target. But, this was a new start for me and I am prepaired to leave it all behind, the fighting, the killing, I'm even trying to reduce my alcohol intake, which I most likely wont be able to change. As I reach the corner of Hay avenue and Saddle street, I see a hotel down the road named "The Snoozing Filly". I look around and see a clock tower showing about 8:30 and decide that is would be a good place to stay for the night until I get a house of my own.
I walk inside to a cozy little lobby with a couple couches and wall lanterns. A older mare sat at the counter reading a book.
"Hello mam, are there any rooms available?" I asked. She looked up from her book and jumped a little when she saw me.
"oh, goodness, you scared me Mr. yes we have several rooms open."
"Good, how much for a standard room?"
"20 bits please." I give her the bits and she takes them and disappears to a back room for a sec before coming out with a key. "Here you go! please enjoy your stay!"
"Thanks." I walked upstairs to the indicated room and went inside. It was a decent sized room, with a bed, desk with a lamp and chair and a nightstand. I set my map on the desk and went into the bathroom to wash up. After I was done washing up I looked at myself in the mirror. I freak other ponies out with the way I look, most don't say but I can read it in their eyes. I was a blue stallion with a messy, long black and red mane and tail. My body is covered with scars and burns from my past life in Phillydelphia. And then there is my right eye. As if the scars weren't creepy enough, my eye resembled a black and red cats eye with a big gaping open wound over it. I new there was no denying it, I looked like a freak. I turned to the sides and unfolded my wings to look at them. About 4 years ago, I was captured by a group of equality terrorists. They took me to a concealed room and to make sure I didn't move, they cut out a important tendon in my wing base so I couldn't fly anymore, and I still cant to this day. I missed flight more than anything and I would give anything to have it back. I shook off the awful memory's and decided I should get some rest. I turned out the light and crawled into bed watching the street lights illuminate the street out the window. I could see flashing colorful lights coming from one of the buildings down the way and thought I could investigate that tomorrow. I then rolled on my side and closed my eyes, eager to see what this town has to offer tomorrow.
I woke up the next morning to a beautiful sunrise out my window casting light onto the bed. I got up and went into the bathroom to fix my mane and tail, brush my teeth, and that's about all I can do with myself. I walked into the hallway and locked the door behind me, then left the hotel and walked down the street to see what Ponyville had to offer. While I walked I noticed out of the corner of my eyes, ponies were getting wide eyes and staring at me. I even noticed one mare drag her foals inside. It was just the same as Phillydelphia, and here I thought it would be better. I passed a neat diner as I walked and decided that that would be a good place to eat breakfast. I went in, grabbed a seat and ordered a coffee. As I waited for my coffee I watched out the window at the different ponies. It had been almost ten minutes since my coffee had been ordered and I was about to get up and leave until somepony started talking to me.
"Hello" I heard them say behind me. I turned around and replied.
"Hello, can I help you?"
"Oh, my bad. I thought you looked lonely and wondered if you wanted some company." Considering this was the first time somepony has done this I decided to allow her to join me.
"Yeah, you can sit"
"Oh ok. I guess I should be the first to introduce myself my name is prin-" I cut her off right there.
"I already know who you are, Princess Twilight Sparkle"
"Oh, really? I've never seen you here before."
"That's cause I'm not from here, I just came from Pillydelphia."
"Oh wow! You came far. What is your name?"
"Omega Shock"
"Can I ask why you left Phillydelphia for a place like Ponyville?"
"Lets just say I have my reasons, Twilight."
"Oh, ok. I mean, its just that most ponies wouldn't even dream of moving from such a higher class society moves to a place like Ponyville." As she finishes the waiter walks back with my coffee, says hi to her and then leaves.
"Well, I in case you haven't noticed by my appearance, I'm not like most ponies." I say as I sip on my coffee.
"Well Omega, Its a pleasure to meet you, and I'm happy to see you here in Ponyville and I hope you like it here. Oh, and if you ever need anything, just stop by the castle." She gets up and leaves out the door and flies away. .
"Well I'm glad to see somepony likes me here." I think to myself as I drink the rest of my coffee, and then head back out the door.
