Chapters "Bwah... what's happening?"
"Jonah... is that you?"
"What? Is that you, Calvin? You seem... younger."
"And you."
"Would you two just shut up and open your goddamn eyes?"
I opened my eyes, and wished I hadn't.
The ground was coming closer.
I turned my head, and to my great surprise, there were two ponies, specifically colts, one Unicorn, one Earth Pony, falling next to me. I turned my head back and surveyed myself.
"Fuck! This is a goddamn HiE!"
"Wait, what's an HiE?"
"I'll explain when we get to the ground, Brandon!" Luckily, I was the one with a cool head between us three. I could always think clearly during bad situations.
"Calvin?"
"Yeah?" The unicorn spoke.
"Okay, I need you to focus on the thing sticking out of your forehead!"
"OK!"
"Now, close your eyes and picture the clearing below. Imagine the three of us appearing there!"
"Got it! Why am I hurting?"
"That's expected! Now, concentrate on us being there!"
"Okay! Oh, god, this... AAAUUUGGHHH!!!!!" A flash appeared from the unicorn's horn, envelobing me and the earth pony.
"What's happen... wait, we aren't falling! WE AREN'T FALLING!" As I looked around, I saw that we weren't, in fact, falling. We were on solid ground.
Being the cool headed one, I decided to stand up first. Note to self: bad idea. After upchucking my recent lunch, I tried once more, this time falling flat on my face.
"Three time's a charm." Is what I should've said, but obviously those things only come to me the night after. Anyway, I finally managed to stand up. I spent a few moments studying my new quadrupedal stance, and then checked up on the other two colts. Only now did I get the time to examine them. The Earth Pony was light green, and had a neon blue mane. The unicorn was white with another light blue mane. I looked at myself and saw that I was a sort of rich blue color. The strands of hair hanging in my eyes told me that my mane was silvery-gray. I felt along my back and found two feathery lumps. I mentally brohoofed myself for getting to be a pegasus. The other colts were faring worse than I did at standing up; they were too used to their bipedal lives and tried to stand on their hind legs.
"Guys, like this." I got their attention and displayed my four-hoof style. They tried it and got my results, thankfully.
"So, is that you, Jonah?" The unicorn spoke up.
"Only if you're Calvin." I replied.
"Well then, I must be Brandon!" The earth pony finished.
"Okay, you seem to know about this place. Where the hell are we?"
"Okay, guys. I'll confess. I'm a fan of My Little Pony." I said.
Their jaws simultaneously dropped.
"Yeah, yeah, be haters. Ok, 1) It's cool. And 2) We're in their world now, so I am the coolest out of us three now."
"Dammit. I was the coolest!" Brandon couldn't believe it.
"Now, you probably have questions, so ask away."
"Where are we?" Calvin asked.
"Equestria. Land of the ponies. Probably most peaceful place in the universe."
"What the hell are we?" Brandon questioned.
"We are ponies, specifically colts. They're a ponie's equivalent of boys. Brandon, you're an earth pony. They have strong hind legs and are generally more athletic than others. Calvin, you're a unicorn. They focus magical energies into their horns and cast spells. What you did back there- that was magic. I am a pegasus. We have wings, so we can fly around. Also, clouds are tangible to us. Any more questions?"
"Yes." They replied in unison.
"NO MORE QUESTIONS! THE SUN HAS SET AND RISEN TWICE!" I couldn't bear it anymore!
"Wow! I never thought Jonah could know so much!" Calvin and Brandon were amazed at how much I know about this world.
"Yeah, yeah, I got 100s on my finals. Shut up." I waved a hoof dismissively at them. "Let's get going. If I'm correct, Ponyville should be Northwest of here. And that would be..." I gazed at the sun, measuring the distance from the horizon, "that way!" I pointed my hoof northwest and started walking.
"Okay, girls, I have the perfect plan for getting our cutie marks!"
"Okay, Apple Bloom, what would that be?"
"I'll tell you when we get there!"
"Okay, but this better be good! Rainbow is teaching me to fly at noon, and I can't miss it."
"Hey, look! It's a way out! We're gonna survive!" Brandon exclaimed at the first hint of light peeking through the trees.
"Finally!" Calvin agreed in exclamation.
"Now, be aware. We are going to be under heavy suspicion. Three colts appear out of nowhere and say they're from a different universe? How about we just say we're amnesiacs?"
"Sounds good to me."
"Okay. Let's go."
We stepped towards the light.
"Hey, girls, did you hear something?"
"No."
"Well, I'm gonna go check it out."
"Sure, we'll follow you."
Suddenly, the bushes near the girls rustled. Then three colts fell out.
"I told you that we should have gone horizontal instead of vertical!" One colt said. It was a blue pegasus.
"Well, I thought it would be cool if we popped our heads out vertically and looked around." Replied a white unicorn.
"I still think it would be best if we picked up the bush and tiptoed around." The green earth pony stated.
"Wait! Look, fillies!" At that, the three disappeared back into the bush. A moment later, they reappeared, only standing.
"Why, hello there. It is nice to see such beautiful faces on a fine day." The pegasus said in the fillies' direction.
"What's with that weird voice?" The filly unicorn questioned.
"I told you to not do the voice!" The earth pony colt whispered.
"Oh... um, sorry?" The colt pegasus apologized.
"It's alright. My name's Sweetie Belle. This here's Apple Bloom, and that's Scootaloo! Who are you?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Well, we don't exactly know... All I remember is that he" the pegasus pointed at the earth pony, "is called RB. He" now he pointed to the unicorn, "is Windows, and I'm Sea."
"Well, I'll say you've gotten yourself in a right pickle." Apple Bloom said. "Why don't we take you to our friend's house? She should be able to help."
"Sure, we need all the help we can get." We followed the three fillies into town.
Twilight and the new kids
Finally, we came to a large tree. I knew it as Twilight's library. Apple Bloom knocked, and the door opened. A certain lavender unicorn stepped out and looked around, finally settling on down. She was surprised to see the CMC accompanied by three blank flank colts of unknown identity.
"Oh, hey girls. What can I do for you?"
"Our friends here came out of the bushes on the edge of the forest. They don't remember anything about why they're here."
"It's true. We all woke up in a clearing, and could tell we knew each other. Then we walked through the forest and came out here."
"Well, that is pretty odd. Tell you what, I already have three guests in your predicament staying here. While you sort things out, you can stay here."
"Thanks, miss..." I was really playing into my role as an amnesiac.
"Twilight Sparkle. You can call me Twilight, though."
"Thank you, Miss Twilight." I led Calvin and Brandon into the tree, and they were surprised to find it full to the brim with books!
"Jonah, this is your kind of place." Calvin whispered in my ear.
"It's really not. Wait until you see the bakery." I whispered back. I put a shocked look on my face to match the others.
"This is the Library. I I live and work here. It used to be just me and Spike, but a few new faces showed up and I took them in. They're out for a bit." I wondered who the other three ponies were, and if they had gone through the same HiE-ification that we had. Of course, they may just be random ponies, and have been forever. Either way, I was excited to meet them.
"You'll be staying on the fold-out couch." She tilted her head towards a couch that suddenly sprung out into a very unappealing mattress.
"We all have to sleep on that?" Calvin, or should I say Windows, disbelievingly asked.
"Well, my spare bed is taken currently. I dragged this out earlier, conveniently."
"Well, that makes enough sense."
"Now, I know this is weird, but-"
"Hey, we need as much help as we can get. It's not weird at all." I responded.
"Thanks. The other three should be back about now."
At that very moment, three stallions were standing outside that very door, each carrying a mountain of grocery bags on their backs.
"Why... did... we do... this... again?" The pegasus asked.
"Because you insisted that we help the pony that's helping us." The earth pony answered, carrying his load without an issue.
"Seriously, you've been nothing but crazy about her." The unicorn said, holding his load in the air, surrounded by a yellow aura.
The pegasus opened the door, only to find Twilight accompanied by three young colts. One, the pegasus, looked familiar to him. He couldn't put his hoof (still not used to that thing) on it. He also looked very similar to himself, as the colt had sparkling silver hair and a royal blue coat. The stallion had a coat of the same hue, but his mane was a shining gold.
"Oh, you're back! These three colts just appeared out of the Everfree. They say they can't remember anything, and they need a place to stay. Can you guys stick with you current living arrangement for a while longer? I just can't get another bed right now."
"Fine." the earth pony and unicorn sighed, and dropped their loads. (Teehee!)
"Huh-ahh" The pegasus put his groceries in the pile and walked to the colts.
"Hi, my name is Golden Sky. Yours?"
Who said only 3?
I didn't realize what was going on until something hard smacked me in the face. I looked around and saw some clouds sparsely placed through the sky.
Wait... SKY?
I raised my head and found a sight I never imagined was possible.
I was a pony. On a cloud.
Huge WTF moment there.
I looked around for the thing that smacked me, but all I could see that was abnormal were two black dots getting farther away and screaming.
SCREAMING?
I rolled of the cloud and pulled my arms... hooves!? To my sides and plummeting to earth. Normally, I would never do something like this, but it just felt natural. Like walking, or breathing. I looked back at myself and saw two... things coming out of my sides. They were large, feathery, and... SWEET JESUS I HAD WINGS!
I gave a few test flaps and found that I flew faster downwards while flapping. Wait, WHY DOWN? AHH! Oh, yeah, dots. Less of dots now, more circles. Still far away. I flapped harder and the circles grew bigger. Bigger. Bigger. I could see them clearer now. They had faces, and one had something sticking out of it's head. Like Twilight! I had never seen much of the show, only the first minute of the first episode. Then my mom walked in, called me gay, and my brother Jonah vouched for me. He watches it full time, every episode, reads stories, listens to the music, all that. Even Rule-34 stuff. I saw his iPod once. Sheesh, that boy needs to get a room. Anyway, he would love this. Becoming a pony, and flying . Even I was loving the flying. Now I was in arms range of the dots, and I could clearly see that they were also ponies. I swooped down and put my hooves on their backs and surprisingly held them without an issue. I pulled up and flew straight forwards.
"Why were you falling?" I asked.
"Well, honestly, I don't know. I woke up a few seconds ago, I'm still dazed." The horn-thingy answered.
"Hey, is that you, Watson?"
"Wait, are you Sam?"
"That I am. Who's this big lug? He's heavy."
"I can't be sure, but I think he's Austin. He has the same sort of face."
"I know that this is gonna be weird, but I know what we are."
"Wait, you do?"
*One minute and a short discussion later*
"And, that's why Bronies aren't gay. And, I'm not even really a fan of the show."
"Pretty gay, man. Pretty gay."
"Shut up. Okay, here's a town. We can land there."
"Why are you so calm about this? We wake up in weird bodies, in a weird world, and you're all Mr. Calm and collected?"
"Apparently so."
As we approached the town, I descended and finally landed in the square. The first thing I noticed was the number of ponies looking at us. I realized that they all had the butt-mark thingies, and that we didn't. One walked out from a group and approached us. It was that one I saw in the first episode! Umm... Twixie, no... Dawn, no... Oh yeah, Twilight!
"Hello there. Looks like you could use a hoof." I now realized that we were still hovering a few feet off of the ground. A pink glow shimmered from her horn-thing and around the normal pony-person. I dropped Watson on the ground and landed myself. I went over to where she laid the normal pony and slapped him once or twice with my hoof. I'm still not used to that thing. His eyes opened and he spoke.
"Oh, jeez. Not these things."

The one where they explain the confusing line
"Wait, what?"
"Not these ponies. Why the ponies?" The earth pony continued.
"Now, Aaron, stop complaining about these... ponies being ponies."
"No! I want a peaceful, dreamless sleep, and what do I get? Ponies."
"This isn't a dream."
"Great, even worse."
"Well, we're here, and we're probably gonna be here for a while."
"Fine. I'll stop complaining."
"Good. Now, everybody-"
"Everypony." Twilight interrupted.
"Right. Everypony is staring at us, and if you complain about them being who they are, they will murder you with friendship and glitter. Be quiet."
"Okay, okay."
"Umm... You're sort of making a scene in front off everypony. Why don't you come with me to my house."
"Uhh... sure!"
So no one told you Equestria was gonna be this way?
"Okay, can you please explain to me what's going on?"
"Well, we're new in town."
"You don't have your cutie marks."
"We never got our butt-marky thingies."
"Cutie marks. And at your age, everypony has their cutie marks."
"Well, the exception proves the rule, you know?"
"You lack simple grammar like 'Everypony' and 'Cutie mark'."
"We were badly schooled?" I was unsure of my hasty answer.
"Well good thing you're in a library. You're going to want to read these," she lifted a giant stack of books our way. "these," another giant pile. "and these." She lifted a last pile of books to us. "I'm going to go out for a while. Study up!" She walked out of the open door, but poked her head back in.
"By the way, what are your names?"
I was stumped for an answer. Watson beat me to it, though.
"I'm Shock Watt."
Austin replied next.
"I'm Nay Sayer."
I was left to answer.
"Umm..." I looked around for ideas. I saw one thing that got my attention. Some golden threads were hanging in my eyesight. And if I was a pegasus, then I would have an airy name. Like... Sky. Golden Sky.
"Golden Sky, Twilight. Nice to meet you." I reached out and shook her hoof.
"Nice to meet you too." She gave a happy smile of approval and walked off.
