Raccoon City, Missouri

40 hours after initial infection
43 hours after contact lost with HUNK and Delta team
30 mins after Omega team deployment
Omega team had just destroyed the server room and was now moving to the records room to destroy all physical evidence of Umbrella’s involvement. As they were moving down the hallway they heard voices come from one of the side rooms, Anonymous looked at the door and then looked towards Sarge for whether or not they should open it. Sarge nodded and Anonymous and Kestrel stacked on the door, Red opened the door and Anonymous and Kestrel entered.
“What do you got?” Sarge asked since heard no gunshots and only some whimpering.
“Civilians, three women, sir.” Kestrel responded
“Sir what do we do with them?” Anonymous asked.
One of the women looked at Kestrel and Anonymous and assumed they were military.
“Oh thank god, please you have help us, we were starting to think rescue wasn’t coming.” she said as got out from behind the desk she was cowering behind.
“Hold on, I’ll ask command.” Sarge said as he contacted command, “Command, Omega here, we found several civilians requesting instructions.”
“Omega, terminate any survivors we can’t risk a single witness.” Command ordered
“Command, say again, it sounded like you said terminate.” Lucky asked making sure she heard command right.
“What do mean terminate, your not here to help us?” the other woman asked as if someone had just drowned her puppy.
“Affirmative Omega, Corporate wants no witnesses or chances. You are to terminate any survivors you find, that’s your orders.” Command repeated ensuring the team understood.
Before anyone could say anything, suppressed gunshots were heard along with a quick scream.
“Command, survivors terminated.” Kestrel calmly said as he walked out of the room and reloaded his now empty MP-5/10.
“What the fuck did you do, you just killed innocent people!” Sarge practically screamed at Kestrel.
Kestrel looked up at his team leader and responded in a dead like tone, “Following orders, your the team lead, you should know what that’s like. Instead of questioning what just happened, we should keep moving the blood’s sure to draw the infected this way.” as he finished he simply shoved his past Sarge and kept moving down the hallway.
“Kestrel get back here, what the fuck are you thinking?” Sarge commanded as tried to keep his anger under control.
Kestrel turned around and walked right up to Sarge, “I was thinking that I’d do my job and follow orders. You know what, let's put in terms you’d understand, hmm. If we let them live Umbrella would have us killed, how I don’t know, but they would, also the civilians would also die, did you actually believe they’d have a chance to survive any further? I follow orders they die quickly, we live and corporate remains happy with us, they have no need for toys that won’t play the game.” Kestrel finished his rant and turned around and kept moving towards the records room.
Sarge hated to admit it but, Kestrel had a point, if corporate had no qualms with killing survivors then what would they do if Omega suddenly lost it’s usefulness, more than likely send another team to kill them or hunt them with their B.O.W.s. With that train of thought Sarge gave a slight shiver, but he remained steadfast and focused.
“Let’s move Omega.” he quietly ordered as they continued after Kestrel.
Anonymous who was in the room with Kestrel and the survivors, was wondering if killing survivors was a mercy after they had most likely been through. Anonymous was made of tough stuff as he wasn’t even fazed when command ordered the death of the survivors or when Kestrel turned his gun on them and put two in each head, maybe he would have been affected had there been any children, but for three simple women, he was more concerned about what he had stepped in.
Marseille was appalled that corporate would waste such potential test subjects, for all they had known they had antibodies for the virus. But she digresses, in the end it was probably the best decision, the survivors would have been more trouble than they’re worth.
Fox while disgusted at what they had been ordered to do, but he understood where Kestrel was coming from, remembering when he was betrayed by his fellow thieves when he was no longer needed, what bothered him was how quick Kestrel followed the order, that meant either he was loyal to corporate to a fault, he was psychotic or he was simply a survivor, that did what was necessary to fight on. Either way he needed to keep an eye on Kestrel.
Lucky was shocked to say the least, that in a heartbeat, they would be ordered to kill survivors, and Kestrel would do it without a second thought. Of course it was the right move, she couldn’t deny that. What shocked her was Kestrel’s words that corporate would kill them if they didn’t follow their orders like toy soldiers, she wondered was that basic intuition or experience talking. Had Kestrel’s former team disobeyed and been killed or worse, whatever it was she had to strengthen her resolve lest she been seen as insubordinate when she has to kill a survivor.
Kestrel was mentally berating himself, how could he just kill them like that, like they were nothing. Not a minute before they had been asking them for help, he had to remind himself that they weren’t human they were bags of meat that all, not people just bags. Kestrel was wondering if he could retire after this, just forget everything he had to do for Umbrella, but before that he had to finish this mission.
Red was taking up the rear and wondering if this was any different from what he did in Afghanistan. He wasn’t paying attention when the door to his left broke open and a dozen infected fell upon him, with a roar, if could only scream as they began tearing into him.
“Ahhhhh-ghrk!” Red scream was cut short as an infect clamped down on his throat and ripped away.
“Shit!” was Lucky could say as she leveled her Aug at the feeding frenzy of infected and began spraying into the accumulated mass of decomposed flesh. Behind her Anonymous, Marseille, Sarge, Fox and Kestrel started to engage as well. More infected were streaming out of the door and into the hallway, they had no choice but start falling back as the infected surged towards them. As they were falling back, Sarge found a door that branched off in a separate hallway.
“In here, move!” Sarge yelled as prepped two of his M26 fragmentation grenades. As the team entered he tossed them in the hallway as he shut the door behind him. Kestrel and Anonymous were pushing a large desk against the door as a brace. Once they were in they quickly moved towards the records room, not wanting to be ambushed by more infected.
Once they reached the records room they all took a quick breather, Sarge was pacing back and forth.
“Damnit, why the fuck wasn’t anyone paying attention, we should’ve heard the infected or at least noticed the door was going to give!” Sarge yelled wondering if he could have done something to prevent this death.
“He died cause he got complacent he wasn’t paying attention and he paid the price, people die, we’re soldiers, get the fuck over it.” Lucky said as she decide that now was not the time for their ‘leader’ to get all broken up over a death.
Sarge gave Lucky a good hard look, “No one was supposed to die, easy job, in and out.” he said as an attempt at an explanation.
“Always expect deaths, a good leader would know this!” Lucky rebutted as she got closer to Sarge, poking him in the chest.
“Enough! He’s dead that’s it, it’s over, let’s finish this so we can leave.” Fox said as he worried if the arguing would attract the infected. As he was intervening Kestrel motioned for Anonymous and Marseille to get close to him.
“While the kids argue, I say we just rig the whole place go up like a roman candle, Anonymous, you got enough bang for that?” Kestrel asked
“Damn skippy son, I got enough to torch the whole building if you want.” Anonymous said with pride and joy in his voice.
“Alright while you do that, Marseille, you need to burn some random documents for corporate if they’re watching.” Kestrel said wanting to cover all the bases.
“Oui, and what will you be doing, eh?” Marseille asked as she ignited the pilot light in her XM 42 flamethrower.
“Me I’ll be helping Fox deal with the kids.” Kestrel said as he turned towards Sarge and Lucky who were only being separated by Fox.
As Kestrel walked up to the arguing pair, a large vent grate was knocked off and several T-Virus mutations known as ‘lickers’ crawled in, they immediately noticed the loud arguing and began closing on the noise hoping to find their next meal. The first licker pounced on Kestrel, he was only able to keep the beast at bay by using his left forearm as a brace against it’s throat.
“Get it off me!” Kestrel yelled as he was trying to avoid getting chomped on.
Fox was the first to react and raised his Calico at the licker and began unleashing a storm of 9x19mm at the creature’s back, Sarge and Lucky had began to attack the other lickers that had crawled in. Anonymous focused on setting his last grenade to ensure nothing in the room would survive the firestorm that would be ignited. Marseille had just finished burning the papers she gathered and turned her flamethrower on a licker that had tried to pounce on her.
The licker that had pinned Kestrel had died with a screech and fell off of him, Kestrel quickly got up and began shooting at the remaining lickers, within a few minutes all the lickers were dead. They had began to make their way towards the exit, Anonymous being the last out as he had the string connected to all the pins in the grenades. As he was heading out a licker that was playing dead pounced on him and began to bite through the armor on his arm.
Marseille noticed that the doors behind her had slammed shut on their own, she began to look around for Anonymous, noticing he wasn’t there with them, she called out to the team.
“Anonymous isn’t with us, he must still be inside, eh!” she called out, getting their attention.
Sarge, stopped and turned around heading back to the records room.
“Go, I’ll get him!” Sarge called as he ran back, hoping nothing serious had happened to the demoman.
As he neared the room he angled himself so he would shoulder check the door open. When he did this he saw that Licker was feasting on Anonymous, Sarge swore and shot at the licker, killing it. As he neared he saw that Anonymous was moving, thinking that he was still alive somehow, he ran over to him.
Sarge kneeled by his fallen comrade, “Hey, hang in there I got you.” he said as he removed Anonymous’ helmet.
Once the helmet was removed, the now infected Anonymous lunged at Sarge and pinned him underneath his heavily armored body and was snapping away at Sarge’s arm. Sarge began to struggle, but screamed out in pain as he was bit through his forearm. He knew that no matter what he was done for, he needed to complete his mission, he began to feel around for the string that connected all the grenades together. As he found it Anonymous once again tore a chunk of his flesh off and made a scream like howl at Sarge.
“Omega, this is Sarge, get out of here, I’m detonating the grenades, Anonymous didn’t make, Lucky, you're in charge now, don’t kill my team.” Sarge said as final words as he pulled the string, five seconds later the whole room went up in flames.
From the lobby of the building the remaining members of Omega team could hear the explosion. They knew that signaled the loss of two more teammates, leaving Omega team nearly halved. They all heard Sarge’s final words, no one had any misconceptions on what to do now.
Lucky contacted command, “Command, this is Omega, records room and any physical evidence destroyed, reporting three members KIA, requesting further instructions.”
“Omega, you are to rendezvous with your driver outside and move towards an Umbrella facility, we have a spy trying to gather information there along with several survivors who need to eliminated attempting to use the facility’s railway to escape the city, also you must recover Sherry Birkin, your extraction hinges on this, do not fail.” Command said with anger and a sneer.
“Affirmative command, Omega out.” Lucky said quickly, as she ended the conversation.
As she finished the team went outside and saw the Peacekeeper they arrived in waiting for them, they quickly entered the now spacious vehicle. The Peacekeeper began to move on towards the team’s next objective.
