chapter 1 Reality continues to ruin my life.
I have happy dreams, normally full of motorcycles and raptors or just some weird things that my mind wants to put me through. I like it, helps keeps things interesting because if there's one thing that bores me more than anything else it's boredom. I know right? I’m a poet, and I don't even realize it! But anyways back to sleep (which is currently 4 on my top 10 list) I don't remember anything from last night. Well that's not quite right, I guess I should say I don't remember going to sleep last night.
All I know is I was helping my nerdy brother Aaron with some. I don't know, THING. It looked like something you would see in a sci-fi story or StarCraft or something. YES it was like something from StarCraft but it crappier, much, MUCH crappier. Just try to imagine what it would be like it NASA used a city dump to build their things, yeah, that good.
Anyways so I was helping him with his homemade warpgate and it starts lighting up and shaking like crazy. Next thing I know BAM I’m sleeping. So I guess something happened that knocked me out or something. Because I was left in that creepy half asleep half-awake state feeling that everyone gets experiences every now and then. I think that there's a name for it, but whatever it is it suck! The only good thing about it is that I could feel that I was laying on something soft and it's warm. Which leads me to think that I’m in bed. Great, if Aaron is trying to play some stupid prank to get me to wet the bed or something while I’m like this. I’m going to put catnip on him while he’s sleeping and see how he likes having the cat biting him all night.
That when I hear it. “Oh, oh dear.” Wait that's not Aaron “a-are you ok?” that's definitely not Aaron! That sounds like a girl, a cute girl. A cute girl that was in my room! Why was she in my room!? Oh please let me have pants on!!
I tried to open my eyes and regretted that instantly. Someone must have opened the blinds because the sun was blazing on my face. I groggily rolled over and tried to cover my face. But every muscle in my body ached and didn't want to move. “Wow, y-you're a human” I hear the cute voice say.
Needless to say that was weird, even for me. Now that's saying something seeing that I just get blown up by something in my brothers room that probably shouldn't exist. So I decided to try opening my eyes one more time. now I expected to see someone there. But I did not get that instead looking down at me was a horse. A yellow horse with pink hair to be precise. But wait it get even better, it has wings. It’s a wingaling horsey.
Now again, dreams, I like them. They can by just about anything. But I must have had some really special brownies to see this! Then to make things even weirder it was just standing over me looking at me with its big bright eyes. It was just not normal.
Finley it started to slowly step back moving off of me. I just watched it as it started to hide its face behind its hair or it’s main rather. It would have been cute but then I hear “oh, s-sorry.” . . . . Did it just?. . . .
Whoops, there it goes. Yep my brain stopped.
I closed my eyes as I put my hand to my head. As I started slowly shaking my head. “Oh are you ok?” I hear the voice say again.
“Yeah, I just need to restart my brain really quick. I would get a Mac but I’m a gamer and well, you know.”
Once reality finished loading I opened my eyes again. I was expecting to see my room or something but all I got was that yellow horse again. It had the most confused look on its face. That irritated me a little bit, I was the one that gets to have that expression. I mean I feel like I earned it after stubborn yellow horse stubbornly decided to still exist.
“Hello” I said. I don't know why I said that it's not like I was expecting it to understand me or anything. It just seemed like the thing to do. To be honest I kind of thought someone would step out from behind a tree or bush and tell me what was going on.
The yellow horse started picking its hoof into the ground silly. I didn't pay it much attention because at that point something started pushing on my leg. I looked down saw for the first time in recorded history a pissed off bunny rabbit. yes, it is confirmed they do indeed exist. He was kicking my leg will keeping this little scowl on his fuzzy face.
At that point I realized that I was laying with my back on the dirt floor. It was shaky but I quickly get to my feet all by myself. as it turns out i was using someone's flower bed as well a bed, you could even see where I was lying because all the flowers were smashed in that area. The bunny looked up at me with another fuzzy scowl.
“Um sorry about that.” I told the bunny. He just huffed and turned his back to me. I could even see his little nose as he stuck it to the air. Then he hopped away in what I guessed was the bunny equivalent of a dramatic stomp.
I turned to the yellow horse (mostly because it was the only other living thing there. now that i killed the flowers) “who tried to take thumpers lucky leg?” I said jokingly
“Don’t mind angel, he doesn't mean anything be it. He just really love his garden that's all.”
“Angel? Hmm he seems a little angry to be an angel if you ask me.”
“A lot of ponies think that. But he really is nice when you get to know him though.”
“I got ya” I said as I turn and looked down at the little horse. She was smiling up at me aaaaannnnndddddd I’m talking to a winged horse. i blinked to make sure i was right. Yep that is a horse, a tiny, yellow, talking, winged horse.
“Um, I’m fluttershy.” she said.
A tiny, yellow, talking, winged horse named Fluttershy. Because why not.
“Um, hi.” full awkward mode activated “I'm Colton. And you're talking.”
When I said that she blushed and started picking the floor again with her hoof. Now, I wanted to be confused maybe even angry at what was going on but you see I, I just couldn't ok and you want to know why? Because Fluttershy was adorable and I didn’t really want to keep talking to her. But to be honest the power of cute compels me.
“So hey, you wouldn't know where I am by chance would you?”
She looked up when I said that. “t-this is my back year.”
“Oh,” is all said in return. Let me tell you how hard it is to resist the urge sometimes.
I just couldn't bring myself to do it in front of her though. but I wanted to so much.
“Ok. Is there maybe someone that I could talk to that may be able to help?” I asked her.
She thought about this for a little. then brightened up when she said “my friend twilight is really good with magic. I’m sure she could explain how you get here. We can go to see her right now. I can take you there.”
“Sure that would be great!”
“Ok then let's go” she said before skipping off happily.
So just like that I found myself in some weird version of reality where bunnies are angry, horses have wing and can talk and i was off to see some magic guy vampire who could hopefully help me understand what was going on. Oh please let this be a dream!
