//-------------------------------------------------------// Pink, Yellow and Shy -by Blue Blaze- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 1 They terrified her. They haunted her. They chilled her spine. They ruled her nightmares. They froze her with their presence. No matter how you looked at it, one fact stood: Fluttershy was afraid of dragons. But……. why? She has developed a lot over the years. She helped defeat Nightmare Moon, defeated and reformed Discord, aided in the defeat of Tirek, and went as far as to spy on Starlight Glimmer. She also helped the pegasi bring water to Cloudsdale, and volunteered to sing in the Ponytones. All of these awesome achievements, and yet……. It was gruesome. She was trapped. Her wings wouldn’t budge due to her being in complete panic. The beast was closing in. She tried desperately to dig her way out, but proved fruitless. It was over. The fiery reptile opened its mouth to unleash hell onto the prey. “NOOOOO!” she screamed, as the devilish dream finally came to an end. She then looked at her bed to see it was soaked with sweat. “Oh, my,” She yawned and headed downstairs to where her animal pals awaited her. She fed her squirrels, ferrets, mice, birds and every other in between. Then came Angel. He was the one who separated himself from the rest, only settling for the finest rabbit gourmet. If one thing was out of place, one thing, it was rejected. “Oh, you want this?” the butter pony asked, the rabbit pointing to the picture of salad that looked much like a sundae. She did as she was told and got everything right, also double-checking to make sure. Then she went back to thinking about the nightmare. Oh, dear. I hope something like that doesn’t happen today. Just then, the Ponyville Tower rang, making Fluttershy remember…… “Oh, that’s right. I’m supposed to meet Rarity at the spa today,” Meanwhile, at the local hospital, a nervous Twilight was galloping down the halls asking for assistance with a creature she found in the Everfree Forest, But everypony she greets, they answer with: “Sorry, I’m on my lunch break,” or “Nope, can’t help you,”. She then came to the only ‘doctor’ she knew could handle the job. Back at the spa, Fluttershy and Rarity were having a chat about the nightmare. “Oh, my. That sounds simply horrid,” Rarity said. “I hope I never have a dream like that ever again,” the shy pony said. “That makes two of us, but you must understand, the only way to stop having nightmares about them is to stop being afraid of them. Surely you understand?” the diva asked. “I….. do,” The door swung open, revealing Twilight and the creature. “Fluttershy, I need your help,” said the purple princess. “Aaah, is that….” the butter pony started, but can already fell the fear build up inside her. “Yes, and I know you’re scared of dragons, but you’re the only one left to ask. You’ve got to help,” Oh, Celestia, I hope this doesn’t last long. Flutters thinks to herself. “Oh, well. I’ll finish up here,” Rarity says in the distance. At the cottage, Fluttershy examines the newcomer. The wings looked ripped, and some scales appeared to be shedded. “How is she?” Twilight asks, knowing the dragon was a female. “She’ll be fine. She just needs a few casts on her wings and they’ll be good in 3 days. Where was she?” “In the Everfree Forest. I found her on my way back to the town. When I tried to get help, everypony screamed and ran inside. I tried to tell them it wouldn’t do anything, but they just didn’t listen,” the princess explained. “Well, I know you have to do things for Princess Celestia, and everypony else is too scared to do it, but me? Do you really want me to take care of her?” the pegasus asked nervously. “Of course. You’re the best animal caretaker ever, besides, this is an opportunity,” “How so?” the timid pegasus asked. “I think if you spend enough time with her, you’ll warm up to her, and to dragonkind,” Twi answered. “Okay, if you say so,” Flutters whispered, nervous about the burden that had just been put on her back. “Thanks. I know that this is only for the better,” The lone pony then proceeded with the healing, wrapping the wings with tape. “I’m surprised she didn’t get cuts from the fall,” Just as she was ready to head to her room, the dragon started to wake up. “Hello? Is anyone there?” she said. Oh, no. She’s awake. “Hi. Are you felling alright?” The dragoness lifted herself up, shaking her head around. “Not really. My wings ache,” “Don’t worry, I wrapped them up.” “Thanks,” the dragoness said with a smile. “How did you get here?” the timid pony asked. “I found a book at the library, and the next thing I know, I was here……. Where is here, exactly?” “You’re in my house, in Ponyville,” Flutters answered. “In Equestria,” The dragoness jumped up in realization, but sat back down from the pain pulsing through her. “Wait, I’m in another world?” Oh, I didn’t know that she didn't live here. the pony thought. “Well, um….. Since we have that out of the way, would you like to tell me your name?” “Um…… it’s…..” the dragoness started, but was too quiet to hear. “I’m sorry, I didn’t get that,” Flutters said. “It’s…….” she tried again, but to no avail. “Come again. I won’t hurt you,” The dragoness looked away, unable to will herself to tell the caretaker her name. “If you won’t tell me your name first, I’ll tell you mine. It’s Fluttershy,” “That’s a nice name,” she commented. “Good, now you can tell me yours,” “It’s Cassie,” she finally said, speaking up. “That’s nice, too,” The two had already started off on the right foot. The Pegasus was sure to remember this day. Stomachs growled. Flutters said, “I guess you’re hungry after your trip. You do need your energy. What would you like?” Cassie stumbled a bit, saying, “I’m not sure. I just got here, so I don’t know what you have,” “That’s okay. I’ll just try to make the most of it. What do you like?” “I’ll maybe go for some cupcakes, if you have that….” Cassie asked. “Oh, Pinkie’s got the best cupcakes ever. I’ll……..” She paused, wondering how the town might react if they saw another dragon running amok. “Or maybe I’ll get them myself,” At Sugarcube Corner, the pegasus was having a talk with Twilight. “So, how are things going so far?” the Princess of Friendship asked. “Great. She finally woke up and told me her name,” she answered. Just then, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie joined in. “Hey, watcha talking about?” Pinkie asked. “Nothing you should worry about,” Twi answered. “Twi, I seen you running all over the place this morning. What’s up? Is it another mission leading to another awesome adventure?” the rainbow pony asked. The princess facehoofed at the statement, saying, “How did I know you would say that? No, I was running around to see if anypony could help me with a….” She paused, noting that others, besides her friends, could be listening. She told then to huddle up. “ a dragon I found,” Rainbow and Pinkie gasped. “WHAT?!” Rainbow stopped for a few seconds, looking around to see if anypony heard her outburst, “What? Why?” Twilight answered, “It was hurt, but nopony was brave or smart enough to take care of her, so I took her over to Fluttershy’s, and now,” looking over at her yellow friend, “she’s getting the help she needs,” “Super! Maybe now you’ll stop being scared of dragons so much and you’ll stop having nightmares of them and you can finally move on with your life and do awesome things like helping with the weather ponies, or join the Ponytones, or do awesome tricks like Rainbow Dash, or become a fashion model again, Rarity always wanted you to go at it again, or….” The party pony babbled, but was cut off by a lavender hoof to the face. “I think we get the point, Pink, but she’s already got a great job as Caretaker, and I’m sure she’s just fine with that,” the lavender pony stated. “So, how is she?” Dash asked Fluttershy. “Is she scary?” “Not at all. In fact, she’s very nice and gentle, and a bit shy,” she answered. “SHY?!” the others gasped. “Yes. When I asked for her name, she hesitated. She’s probably as shy as me,” “Nopony, or dragon, is as shy as you,” Dash shouted. Twilight nodded in somewhat agreement. “What matters now is that we help her get back home. Wherever it may be. Do you know?” looking in Fluttershy’s direction. “No, I never took the time to ask her and I promised her I would get her something to eat. I better get home,” she said, leaving in a hurry. “Well, see ya,” Dash said in the distance. Back at the cottage, Cassie was starting to worry if her ‘nurse’ was in any trouble, then the door swung open. Fluttershy made it back with the cupcakes. “Oh, thanks. I was beginning to worry there,” she said, relieved. “Sorry I took so long. I hope you aren’t mad at me,” the yellow pony said with her head low. Cassie forgave her. Once the two had lunch, Flutters asked, “I forgot to ask you earlier, but…… where are you from?” She smiled. “I’m from a very peaceful place called Dragon Land. My friends and I have lots of fun there,” Flutters needed to investigate further if she wanted to help her friend. “Don’t mind my asking, but how exactly did you get here again?” “Well….” It began when I checked out a new book at my library. I always loved to read a good book, but the owner told me it was a magical book and that he didn’t know how to use it, so I took it with me to see if I could work on it. When I opened it, the pages were blank. I tried flipping a page and that’s when it all happened. I was being pulled into it, much like the pop-up book we have at our school. I tried to fly away, but it was too strong. Everything was white for a few seconds, then the next place I saw was a forest. I didn’t have time to react as I crashed into the trees and injured my wings. That and a few scales. “…and that’s all I know” The pony nodded her head. “I’ll have to tell Twilight about this,” A few knocks was heard from the door. She opened it to reveal none other than the master of chaos himself, Discord. “Oh, I hope I’m not interrupting anything. I was just dropping by for our daily tea,” Flutters panicked and looked at the calendar. Sure enough, it was Tuesday. “Oh, dear. Is it that time already? I’m sorry,” She turned around to see Cassie was hiding. “Um, Cassie? Where are you?” she asked. “Who are you talking to?” the draconequus asked curiously. “My new friend, Cassie. She’s a dragon,” the pony answered with glee. “I’m sorry, am I talking to the pony I know? You’re horrified of those things,” he shouted. “I know, which is why Twilight said that I should be the one looking out for her,” “Well, in that case, you wouldn’t mind if she joined us?” he asked His friend giggled. “Of course not, besides, I think she could use a few more friends to make her fell more welcome,” She called out again. “Cassie, it’s okay. Discord is my friend, so he won’t hurt you,” The dragoness slowly raised her head from behind the couch. She looked at the horrible creation before her and instantly went back to hiding. “That’s okay. She’s a little shy, maybe because she hasn’t seen a creature like you,” “Hm,” he huffed. Fluttershy walked to the dragoness and brought her over. “Cassie, this is Discord. I know he doesn’t look like anything from your world, but he’s really nice once you get to know him,” When Discord saw her, his face lit up. “A pleasure to meet you! Aren’t you the cutest thing I ever saw?” He then got a shot of disapproval from his crush. He then turned to the pegasus. “Of course, not as cute as you, my dear,” The three of them had a great time discussing the things they’ve been doing the past few days. Cassie had never had such a ball. “Well, that was nice. I had lots of fun, did you?” the pony asked. Cassie giggled. “Of course. What will we do tomorrow?” “I don’t know. Maybe I can show you what my friends do and explore the town together,” Flutters answered. “That sounds nice,” The two yawned, getting ready for bed. Flutters thought, “Would you like to sleep in my bed tonight? It’ll be much more cozy, and it’ll help you feel much better,” Cassie’s eyes gleamed, “Thanks. You don’t know how much that means to me,” With that, the two headed off to bed, wondering what tomorrow may bring. Author's Note I hope you like my first chapter. It took a few tries to get some building up between Fluttershy and Cassie, but it was worth it. Until the next chapter... //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 2 Another day, another awesome adventure in Ponyville. Everything was absolutely perfect. Clear skies, lovely animals, and happy ponies all around the town, the place felt like heaven. In the cottage, the beautiful pony arose to the sound of her roosters. *yawn* “I slept wonderfully last night. I better check to see how Cassie is doing,” She walked upstairs to her bedroom and opened the door. She saw the occupant stretching, getting out of the plush nest. Flutters smiled, “Good morning. I trusted you slept well?” Cassie couldn’t help but smile. “I know it would pretty boring to keep you in here all the time, so I thought today I’ll show you around.” “Okay, but….” Cassie thought of what could go wrong. “Don’t worry about it. They’ll understand,” They went downstairs to have breakfast, discussing their tour. “So, how would you like to meet my animal friends,” *gasp* “I’d love to,” “Great. You can head outside, I’ll take care of the dishes,” “Okay, if you say so,” the dragoness said unsure. The yellow pony turned around to where her friend was sitting. “Hmm, she acts like me most of the time,” Outside, the animals were everywhere except by Cassie. She didn’t think they would react this way. “Wait, I won’t hurt you,” “That’s what you say now, but I’m watching you,” The dragoness turned to see a white bunny with an angry look. “Oh, one left. Hey there,” “En garde, monster!” he said, biting down on her with all his might. She was caught off guard as she took one claw covering her mouth and swung the other, hoping the ambusher would get off. Flutters looked out the window to see a cute dragon about to be slaughtered by her well-trained angels, then it hit her. “Angel,” A herd of many different creatures came out of their hiding, forming a circle around the helpless dragoness. “ATTACK!!” the bunny signaled. The army launched themselves at their target, who was now cowering. “STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!” she yelled. The bunny whipped around to see it’s master. “Who dares to cease Commander Angel Bunnybomb and the Army of the Everfree?” “ ‘Tis I, General Fluttershy, and you shall not harm her,” “FOOL! Do you not know what stands before you? The very creature of your nightmares, and thus it is my duty to support you in your time of need, so I have summoned the Army to the Everfree to dispose of it,” “Then I will have to stop your plans,” “DO YOUR WORST, BEAST!!” The Pegasus unleashed her deadly Stare on the second-in-command. The herd looked on, wondering who would break first. The bunny struggled to keep his ground, but was quickly failing. His soldiers cheered him on to get him back in the game. “C’mon, sir! You got this!” said a hawk. “She bows to you. You own her,” said a bear. “Use the flamethrowers!” said a falcon. The commander screeched at his foe, catching her. It proved to be of very little effect. “Grrr, you win this round, but be warned. That thing brings nothing but utter chaos. I will not stop until the beast has been slayed, FOR I AM….. AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaah,” *splash* She then turned her attention to the soldiers of the wild. “Anyone wanna try their luck? Come on,” she said with cockiness. The animals slowly backed away from the enraged yellow Pegasus. Cassie looked at her protector. “Wow, you’re good with them,” “Oh, that’s right. I never told you I have a special way with animals. Believe it or not, I can speak to them and understand what they say,” “Really? Wow,” “I know. Ready to meet my friends?” “Yes,” The two started on their way to Twilight’s, but everypony outside stared at the awkward pair before, saying things like: ‘Fluttershy and a dragon that’s not Spike? Isn’t she scared?’ or ‘Spike’s the only dragon around here. Where did she come from?’ The more amazing thing was why the locals weren’t attacking, but that didn’t stop the fear from slithering inside the dragoness. “Why are they looking at us like that?” she asked nervously. “They’re probably confused to see me with another dragon,” “Wait, ANOTHER dragon?” “Yes. You see, there’s a dragon here named Spike, and… I’m not afraid of him,” “Wow,” They finally reached the castle of the Princess of Friendship, in which they were greeted by said dragon. “Good morning, Fluttershy and…. Uh?” he paused, noting the dragoness his shy friend was accompanied by, “Hey, why are you with a dragon?” “Oh, this is Cassie. You two haven’t met.” “No….. we haven’t……” he said, staring into the eyes of the beauty. “No, Spike. You’re in love with Rarity. You belong to HER!” He thought to himself. “Besides, you don’t even know this girl. You don’t even know if she’s of our world,” “Yeah, I’ll get Twilight,” The lavender pony was soon on her way down the stairs to welcome them. “Oh, hi Fluttershy. I don’t think we ever got your friends name,” She turned back inside. “Spike, I’m going out. You’re in charge,” The trio started on their way to Sweet Apple Acres. The orange farmer was already hard at work when she saw her friends walk by. “Hi, Twi. Hi Flutters, Hi…….. DRAGON!!” All it took was one look to send her in a state of panic. She immediately made her way to the barn and barred the doors shut. The ponies were not amused at this. Twilight teleported herself and her pals inside. “Applejack, There’s nothing to worry about,” “Yeah, Cassie’s the greatest dragon friend ever,” Flutters stated with her hoof stamped on the table. “And take it from me, because I promised myself I take care of her until her wings feel better,” “That’s great,” the farm pony sighed. “Well, if you don’t mind, we’re going to Rainbow’s now,” the lavender pony sighed. “Okay, y’all. Tell her Ah’m looking for her,” “Alright,” Their second stop: Rainbow’s house, where the spectrum Pegasus was staring down at the dragoness. “So, you’re Fluttershy’s new friend, right?” she asked, hovering about the dragoness at an uncomfortable range. “Y-yes” “And….. YOU’RE A DRAGON!” “Ugh!” Twilight sighed. “We already discussed this 50 times” “Says the pony who triple-checks her checklists,” Dash countered. Twilight’s face went red. “Whatever. We just stopped by to introduce you to each other” “Well, hi Cassie,” she said sarcastically. “Hi…” the dragoness responded with lots of nervousness. “So, what are you doing here? Are you spying on us with that thing around your neck?” she asked, pointing out the blue orb. “What is that?” Twilight asked curiously. “Oh, it’s my Dragon Badge. It glows whenever we do something special,” Cassie answered. “Oh, so is it like a Cutie Mark?” “What’s that?” “It’s kind of like something that tells you what your special talent is,” “I don’t think I’ve heard of anything like that. Speaking of which, doesn’t Spike have a Badge?” “Sorry, but no. Back to my question,” Dash interrupted. “Are you a spy?” The adorable dragoness was offended by the behavior of the rainbow Pegasus. “No, I’m not, and Fluttershy knows it, besides, I only came here by accident,” “That’s what you say now, but nopony gets one up on Rainbow Dash,” The lavender alicorn was getting frustrated by this feud. “Stop. Just stop. We finished this argument already. Fluttershy’s friends with a dragon, she’s NOT a spy, and she needs help getting home. Oh…” she nearly forgotten to ask Cassie how to help her get back home. “…yeah, that reminds me, where exactly is your home?” “Can we talk about with another one of our friends?” Fluttershy interrupted. “I wanted to show Cassie what all of them do,” “Oh, sure thing. Almost forgot. AJ’s looking for you,” As the trio left, Rainbow waved a hoof at them. “See ya later,” “Much later,” Their third stop: Carousel Boutique where Rarity was hard at work. “Oh, hello girls. How can I help you today?” “We wanted you to say hello to Cassie. She’s visiting all our friends, so we thought we should pass by,” the lavender pony said. “A DRAGON?! What in Equestria would make you do THAT?” “Don’t worry, she’s very nice,” came Flutters. “Well Fluttershy, if you say so. Hi, my name’s Rarity and welcome to Carousel Boutique, where everything is chic, unique and Mani fique. How can I help you?” “Well….” Cassie started. “Ooh, how about I make you a dress. I haven’t had many chances to dress a dragon,” The dragoness tried countless times to get the fashionista’s attention to stop, but to no avail. As the carnage went on, the ponies got stacked with clothing. When the marshmallow pony was finished, the pile was at least 7 feet tall. “There. I think that suits you,” Rarity said while inspecting her work. “Um…thanks?” “Not to worry, my dear. It was my pleasure,” “So… are we done?” “Of course. I just have a few more pieces that you can try. Come by tomorrow to pick them up,” “Will do,” Flutters smiled. The tour was coming to a close at Sugarcube Corner with the wildest pony around: Pinkie Pie. “Hey, girls and… *gasp* who’s this?” “Pinkie, this is Cassie. She’s a new friend of ours,” the yellow Pegasus said. “And a dragon,” the party pony said sarcastically. Twilight was not amused. “Yes, we’ve been over this before, Pinkie,” “Okey-dokey. HEY! I should throw a ‘Welcome to Equestria’ party! I’ll invite all our friends and we can play awesome games and we can eat cake…” “Yeah, well maybe another time. It’s getting kind of late. We spent most of the afternoon at Rarity’s getting piled with dresses,” “Okay…” The lavender alicorn parted ways with the pony-dragon pair. The new pals headed back with lots of joy. Fluttershy simply beamed. “Another great day, right Cassie?” “Very great day” Author's Note Sorry this one took so long. I had a bit of down time and kind of cooled off. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I'm going to try and mix it up a little bit with some action in the next one. //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Day 3 The sun arose high above the horizon on this beautiful day in Ponyville, but something they never expected was about to come. Fluttershy and Cassie had already set out to Twilight’s to see how the lavender mare fared with her work. When they entered, the lab was once again in ‘organized chaos’ as Rarity would like to call it. The mare blasted through the room at Rainbow Dash speeds, too wrapped up in the works to notice the shy gals step inside. “These calculations aren’t right. Ugh! If I don’t figure this out soon, I won’t be able to help out my friend in time,” “Um…… Twilight?” the yellow mare whispered. No response. “I don’t even think I got the coordinates to where her home is. This is terrible,” “Twilight?” “Of all the worst things that could happen, this is THE….. WORST….. POSSIBLE….. THING!” That was the last thing she said before fainting onto the floor, exhausted from her late night research. “Oh dear,” Flutters said unamused from the alicorn’s mental breakdown. “Twilight, are you alright?” a worried Cassie asks. No response. “She was probably up all night doing all this research. She’ll be fine,” They carried the overworked alicorn up to her room to rest. “I thought Spike had already told her not to overwork herself. She obviously didn’t take the hint,” “Well what do we do now?” “We were supposed to meet Rarity today to pick up your clothes, remember?” “Right, let’s go,” Just then, something started glowing. It was so near to them. “Oh my, my cutie mark. Someone must need my help,” Flutters cried. “Who is it?” Cassie asked. “I don’t know, but this could be important,” They stepped back inside to the map room to see her cutie mark was right above the Everfree Forest. The timid pony was not pleased to see this. “Whatever it is… I hope I don’t have to fight it,” It was basically a solo mission, but Cassie had decided to tag along. It wasn’t long to figure out the problem, which was more dragons. These seemed to have come from the Land of the Dragons themselves. It looked like they were stealing some eggs. “Oh dear, don’t they know it’s wrong to steal other animals’ eggs? Come on, let’s get them,” The chase was long and exhausting, and Flutters was getting a little mad. “Now look here, you bullies. I’m very tired of chasing you through this forest, so you better stop now or I’ll have no choice but to use the Stare” The other dragons laughed at this, so they got what they deserved. Caught in the hypnosis, Cassie flew unnoticed and got the eggs back. Once the pink dragoness was sure she was out of the line of fire, both of them returned the eggs to their rightful owners. “There. That wasn’t so hard,” Flutters said. “That was kind of fun,” “We should get back to Rarity’s. She’s probably wondering why we haven’t made it there yet,” But the fight wasn’t over, as those bully dragons came looking for them, ready to fight. “Hey you,” a red one said, pointing at Fluttershy. “You stopped our raid, and for that, we’re going to stop you!” “Try it,” Cassie threatened. “Or what? You two don’t look like you can lift a boulder,” “Ok,” Flutters said. She closed her eyes as the wind began to stir. The punks looked on at what was to come. The yellow Pegasus soon turned white and in her place, a batpony. “You were saying?” “Uh…… I think we’re in trouble,” “Yeah. Let’s get out of here,” a blue one said shivering in fear. The raiders retreated from their little errand, back to where they came. “Well, I think that went well,” the pony said. “What was that!? the dragoness yelled. “Oh, that’s right. I never told you that I can turn into a batpony anytime I need to, and now seemed like a good time,” “And how can you do that?” “Well….. Applejack and her family were ready to start apple buck season. Everything looked fine, but we were wrong. So wrong in fact, that it wiped out all of the apples at Sweet Apple Acres. We were all called to an emergency meeting, and that’s when she said, ‘They’re back’. We assumed she was talking about the fruit bats that stayed in the west orchard, but no. They were vampire fruit bats. They sucked all the juice out of the apples overnight, leaving nothing but the cores. AJ demanded we get rid of them right away, but I knew they didn’t mean any harm. They were just doing what was best for the orchard, but all AJ saw was the current feasting they were doing with her family’s apples. They didn’t listen. I tried to tell them, but they didn’t listen. We all went to Twilight’s library to come up with a plan. She had managed to make one that involved a spell and me using my stare. I knew it was wrong to take away the very reason vampire fruit bats existed, but I couldn’t let down my friends. The plan seemed to work after one of them rejected an apple, unfortunately, nothing changed. We tried again, and strangely the spell still worked, so that left us with one question: who did it. It had to be a fruit bat because of the fang marks in the apples, and not just one, but a lot of them. Maybe we didn’t round them all up, or maybe…… She paused to show the dragoness her fangs. I stopped by one of the apples that remained good, and that’s when it happened. My friends were so scared to see me like that, and I had no control over myself the first time. AJ was forced to give up her most prized apple in order to get me back. Everything was back to normal, or so they thought….. The dragoness was awestruck at the amazing story of the pony’s transformation. “That’s amazing,” “Come on, we should get back to Rare,” Meanwhile in a nearby cloud, another Pegasus was watching the entire show. “I’m not letting you off that easily. You still have a long way to go before I can trust you with my lifelong friend,” Later in the day, the pony-dragon pair stopped by Sugarcube Corner to arrange a small party. Pinkie was more than happy to do this. The other ponies got on down to the beats and played classic games. Rainbow Dash, however, was a little uneasy with their newcomer and watched her from afar. Twilight saw this and thought the cyan Pegasus should put it out in the open. “Dash, what’s wrong? You’re looking at Cassie as if she’s a threat to us, especially Fluttershy. Why?” Rainbow kept looking at the pink dragoness, waiting for the right moment to pounce. “Because she’s a dragon. Out of all of us, I’ve known Flutters the longest. There’s no way she should be this comfortable around one, except for Spike,” “True, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give her a chance,” “I AM giving her a chance, and the moment she messes up…..” she said, looking at her target with eyes of a tiger. “Dash, don’t you think you being overprotective here?” Rainbow was offended by this. “It’s not if your friend’s life is in danger as we speak!” her voice picking up with anger. “But she’s NOT in danger. I can assure you,” Twilight’s voice was also started to rise with anger. “HOW DO YOU KNOW?!” Dash shouted, stomping a hoof on the table. “I’ve been looking out for her as soon as me and her…” she said, pointing to Cassie. “ met, and what have you been doing? ‘Trying’ to help her home,” Twilight was offended by this. “HEY, I try my absolute best to help out a friend in need,” “And THAT’S where you’re wrong, Twilight. She is the enemy. She was probably sent here on a secret mission to spy on our world with that thing around her neck. Oh yeah. She’s probably recording us right now,” “That is it, Rainbow Dash. You have got to let all of this go NOW!” Twi shouted on the verge of bursting into flames like that one time with Pinkie. “Come you know I’m right. The only reason you’re calling her our ‘friend’ ……” she leaned in closer to the lavender pony, her face turning from one of rage to one of mischief. “ is because she put a spell on you. Remember that weekend?” The alicorn babbled onto herself for a few seconds. Dash continued by saying, “Now we have to get the potion for you! HA!” That was the breaking point. Twilight eyes and fur turned white and her hair literally set ablaze while she said in the royal Canterlot voice, “FOR THE LAST TIME, SHE IS OUR FRIEND AND YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT THAT!!!!” Rainbow now cowered under the table shaking in fear at the sight before her. “okay,” “That was intense. I never want that to happen to me,” came the party pony. “Um, don’t mind my asking, but why don’t trust Cassie yet, Dashie?” Flutters whispered. “I don’t think it’s good to” “Well, now that Dashie has that out of the way, let’s go on with the party,” //-------------------------------------------------------// Final day //-------------------------------------------------------// Final day The fourth morning, in which was supposed to be another sunny one, was dark and rainy. The pegasi had to make an early storm so the crops wouldn’t dry out. Fluttershy feared the worst part was yet to come as she was awaken by the first thunderclap she heard. Cassie was still sound asleep, and didn’t mind the drums of the sky making their music. In fact, they only soothed her further into her slumber. The yellow pony wasn’t sure to wake the dragoness, or to face the music alone. The booming clouds got louder as the Pegasus shook more with each bang. Little did she know a cyan pony was just above her abode with a gray cloud that was specifically crafted for making thunder. The pony gave it a good kick and sent another thunderclap to the residents below. She was growing frustrated, seeing that she wasn’t getting any closer to achieving her goal: getting the dragon out of her friend’s house and away from the yellow pony. Flutters finally had enough, and she shook her friend furiously. The pink dragon stared at the shivering Pegasus, wondering why her friend was frightened. “What are you scared of?” “The thunder. It’s so loud,” “Is that all?” the dragon asked with a crooked face. “That’s something natural. I can’t make it go away,” “That……..can be arranged, actually,” “What do you mean?” “We pegasi make and move the clouds all over Equestria. There’s a big factory in a moving city called Cloudsdale. My friend, Rainbow Dash, is the head of the factory. One time when winter was on it’s way, she was so excited to spend it with Tank, but we had to break the news to her eventually. She tried to stop it here, but when that didn’t work, she went to our old home and managed to make the whole place go haywire, and with one giant snowball, she covered all of Ponyville in a very deep blanket of snow. We all knew she didn’t want to spend winter without her pet, but she had no choice. I was the one who told her the facts that would eat at her heart, and she was so upset about them she cried for hours. It had to happen. If it didn’t, Rainbow would probably be going at it all winter, and Tank was sure to die, then she’d be really upset; not only for ignoring our advice, but also for losing her pet for the rest of her life. Tank even had a propeller made just for him that can spin on it’s own. All Dash had to do was give it a whirl, and the magic inside the propeller did the rest. We all thought Rainbow was a tough shell, but that day would always haunt her and make her think about what could’ve happened,” “That’s very sad to hear. I’m sure she had good intentions for her pet, but it’s impossible to fight the laws of nature; even if someone is trying to have a great time,” Cassie sighed. “Speaking of which, there is one place that we pegasi can’t do a thing about with nature, and that’s the Everfree Forest,” “We went there yesterday. What do you want to tell me?” “The forest is the only place in all of Equestria that does everything on it’s own; even the clouds. One time, we had to sacrifice our elements to stop the Tree of Harmony from running amok.” “That sounds serious,” “It was, but it’s nothing compared to the battle we had with Tirek. It took all of us to stop him and the magic of friendship, which….” “Is something the matter?” asked Cassie. “No, it’s just that……” “Yes?” “Twilight made this a test for me, well, like a test,” “And?” “And I’ve come a long way with it,” “So what is this test?” “It was becoming friends with you and overcoming my fear of dragons. You’re one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across, and I thank you for that,” “Well, okay…..” said a confused Cassie. “It’s not just that. You come from a whole different world. Aren’t you lucky?” “Yes,” “And we got to know so much from each other,” “Yeah,” “You know, I was wondering if I can visit your world sometime,” “That would be great!” A knock came at the door. Cassie opened it to reveal a steaming Rainbow Dash. “Oh, hi….” “I see I haven’t driven you out yet,” Dash said angrily. “That was what you’re trying to do? Dash, I’m surprised,” came the yellow pony. “I told you Cassie means no harm to us. You should know that already,” “Alright,” Dash sighed. “Come on we better see how Twilight’s doing” “Okay,” Cassie said. The pair made their way through the storm to the castle to see the carnage had not settled down. Twilight teleported to them when she heard the lab door open. “Thank Celestia you’re here! I’ve been up all night constantly trying out different methods and calculations to find Cassie’s home, and now I found it! I only need one more thing to make sure her travel back home doesn’t end up in vain,” “And what would that be?” Flutters asked curiously. “I need her Dragon Badge. It’s the only way,” “Okay,” Cassie replied, unsure. She took off said badge for the lavender alicorn to use it in the contraption before them. The portal began to illuminate the room, blinding the trio. After a few seconds passed, it was ready. “Alright, now you can head back home. Fluttershy, is there anything else you have to say,” came Twilight, handing the badge back to its rightful owner. “Not quite,” “Are you sure?” The yellow pony squeaked a very quiet ‘yes’ that nopony, or dragon, could hear. “I’ll take that as a yes,” the lavender pony said, turning to the departing dragoness. “Are you ready?” Without hesitation, Cassie made her way back into her world as the portal shuts down. Fluttershy stares at the portal, thinking about all the things they could’ve done, how much fun they could’ve had. “Bye, my friend,” Author's Note I'm sorry I couldn't tend to this in recent days, but as soon as I can get stable in life, I promise you all brand new stories. Cassie will certainly be coming back in more MLP/ Dragon Tales crossovers, so be on the lookout.
