Prologue: The Ultimate Adapters

Sam sighed. He knew that this was the end, but it didn't mean he'd go down willingly.

For a millennia and a couple of centuries, humanity had thrived, but then they met the Foriisum. Without any specific technology, strategy, or patterns, there was no way to adapt to them. Not even with the ultimate adapters, humanity. They were unbeatable, and they had gotten to every planet but Earth. When they got to a planet, they didn't just eradicate humanity on it, they completely annihilated the planet. It didn't even last one day. But humanity still held on to one thing- freedom. They, rather than live a slave race, chose to die.

But now, the Foriisum had found Earth, the last planet. Humanity threw everything they had at them-  they were going to die, so they would try to give the next race a chance. The chance they never had.

He pulled out his gun. This was a last resort mission- they were going to try to get him to another galaxy. Even with every precaution possible, it still only had about a 10% chance of success. And Earth was surrounded by the Foriisum. If this worked, and humanity lived on in another galaxy, he would avoid fighting with everything he could.

When he walked out, he was met with Forii chargers and crawlers. He let loose a spray of bullets, and threw a flashbang to stun them. It was then, as he escaped the group of Forii, that he heard the pilots voice in his intercom.

"Help! Help! Please, someone help me, anyone, I don't care who, anyone! Creepers got in and- WAAAAAAUUUUUUGH!"

The ship then lifted off the ground and flew to a Forii cruiser. Great. It was all over for Earth. They would never suspect one of their own ships would bring the bomb. And the bomb was really amazing, it drilled down to the core with pure force, forcing all the magma slowly out of the planet, with the planet collapsing on itself, creating two large meteors with the potential to collapse the solar system and okay I'll shut up now.

He saw a squad of human stragglers get eaten alive one by one with one small snap of jaws on flesh, with blood curdling screams thrown in. They tried to fight, escape- it was like gasoline soaked paper with humans as it, and a flamethrower as Foriisum.

Everything seemed to slow as some kind of pastel, tiny horse, crying, pointed to the ship. He blinked, and the tiny pastel horse disappeared. He looked ahead, and there was a taller white one, doing the same.

A black one was playing with a stuffed pony, then looked around, then continued.

'Damn, I'm batshit insane...'

He shuddered. He had only been scared one time like this.

It was as a child. The Foriisum had attacked his planet...

No. No, can't think about that now, got a species to save.

He ran through the city, knowing in full that he could not help anyone, or all would die. He had learned to hate red- the color his loved ones bled, and the color of those who had made them bleed.

Fucking red...

He killed all Foriisum who dared stand in his way. That one, blam, shot to the head, gray matter everywhere, bang, that one, straight in the heart, crunch, that one, distracted by another screaming human. Crack. That was that one's spine.

Fires raged throughout the city. When he finally got to the launch site, people were doing almost anything to get in. He even had to kill a couple himself. No time to care about it, gotta go fast, heh.

He got on. It was cramped, that was true. But it had high-level cryo, so that in a hundred thousand years, when he reached the Andromeda galaxy, he would only have biologically aged a second.

This was gonna be one long dream.
