Chapters Fluttershy sat in her room in silence. I wanted so badly to cry, but the previous nights had been sleepless from my troubled mind, and the tears refused to come. There was only one name that spoke of all my sorrow.....
" Discord...."
I said aloud with a sigh. It had been a whole month since the Exclude-Twilight fiasco... And I was more upset now then I was that weekend..... All because I am selfish and want Discord all to myself for once. Ever since that weekend, Discord rarely had time for me. He would be playing pranks with Pinkie or Rainbow, helping Applejack around the farm, playing with the CMC (which was rather cute), helping out Rarity with her enormous clothing orders, or helping Twilight with her magic. I sniffled as she saw his mezmirizing eyes and irresistible smile flash across my mind. These thoughts of him used to make me smile, they would brighten my day more then Celestia's sun itself! Now, all I feel is pain in my heart, and my spirit had abandoned me... I heard the door knock and wiped my eyes with my hooves.
" I can't let anybody see me this upset..."
I thought as I walked to the door. When I answered, Spike and all the girls were outside and I smiled.
" Oh hi girls! It's so good to see you! Would you like to come in? You must be freezing! "
They hugged me and went to sit on the couch. I closed the door and walked over to them.
" So, um how are you? "
They all looked at Twilight as she sighed. She then looked at me in concern.
" Fluttershy, you haven't come out of your house in 3 days, we just came over to check on you... To see if you were alright... "
" Oh no " I thought in worry. I feigned a smile of reassurance and held their worried gaze.
" Well as you can see, I'm perfectly fine! No need to worry for me, Twilight. I've just been... A little ill, that's all! "
I hated to lie to them, but I wanted to leave them out of this emotional wreckage over the last month. Everyone seemed relieved at my answer... Except Applejack. She looked at me in deeper concern then before, and this worried me.
" How could I forgot that Applejack is like a walking lie detector? "
I thought to myself as everyone said goodbye. Applejack studied me closely, before smiling.
" Sugar cube, if y'all need anyone to talk to about anything, and I do mean anything , just come talk to me, alright? "
I simply nodded as she exited. I was about to walk back to my room, when a certain little white bunny thumped his foot against the floor. I chuckled at my little Angel bunny, trying, but failing to look angry with that adorable little face of his.
" Are you hungry, Angel? I thought I'd fed you already I'm so sorry..."
He thumped his foot angrily and I took that as a yes. I went to the kitchen and got him a carrot to nibble on. I then, solemnly, walked back up the stairs to my room. I went to my nightstand and pulled out a pure white envelope. I opened it and slightly smiled at the words he had written...
My Dearest, Fluttershy,
I would like to thank you ever so much for the wonderful picnic we had the other day!
Also I was wondering if you would do me the pleasure of having you over to my home for dinner?
I have also invited your friends, and Spike as well.

I had kept every letter that he had sent me, but this one was my favourite by far. It held my heart in a twist of binds that I couldn't explain. That evening was so perfect, but as I thought of it, tears again began to well in my eyes. I missed Discord so much.... Ever since he went to Canterlot to help the Princesses with a problem that was happening in the Crystal Empire that required his chaos magic, I've been in my room, reflecting on all my wonderful and heart-soaring times with Discord. Although since his absence, our joyful memories were only bringing me sorrow and a prick to my heart strings. I looked at my clock that Discord had made... I suddenly averted my eyes from the clock. My mind wailed in sorrow and anger. My voice yearned to scream, to let myself release all of my pain on little cottage. And I gave in to my anger, my loneliness, and my sadness, and unleashed it on my little part of the Equestria.
" WHY DOES EVERTHING I LOOK AT REMIND ME OF HIM?!?!?!!??!?! WHY DID HE HAVE TO TRAP MY HEART IN HIS GRASP?!?!?!? HE'S DRIVING ME TO THE POINT OF NO RETURN!?!??!!!!? "
I cried out in sorrow. My tears streaking down my face. I saw Angel in the doorway, looking frightened and worried. I looked at him and a memory flashed through my mind.... And I saw Discord toyingly holding him upside down in his paw, and I completely lost control on my poor little Angel.
" GET OUT OF HERE, ANGEL!!!?!??!?!?! "
He screamed in terror at me, and ran downstairs in fear. When I had calmed down I looked down in shame and sadness. I had just screamed at Angel when he didn't do anything wrong.... I silently cried until I felt tired enough to slip into bed. When my eyes were about to close, the last thought that went through my mind buzzed past, like a bee.
" Why have you left me in the dust, Discord? Why? Why must you be so far from my reach? My heart is aching for your voice, your touch, your smile, your.... Chaos... "
I let one last tear drop from my eye before drifting off into sleep, where happiness is eternal.....
Fluttershy woke up from a dreadful sleep. I had experienced a horrid nightmare in my sleep, and what I saw had made my cheeks damp with tears. I got up to make breakfast when I heard my creaky mailbox open. My heart sped up as I thought of who might have sent me a letter. I went outside to get the mail when I saw Angel spending time with Harry (the bear) and many of my other animal friends. Angel looked kind of..... jumpy. I realized I hadn't apologized to him for yelling at him last night, and immediantly felt guilty.
" I had better apologize and do something nice for him... "
I walked over and put my hoof on his tiny shoulder. He jumped, then turned around and glared at me. I looked down at the ground, solemnly.
" Angel, I'm so sorry about my outburst yesterday.... I didn't mean to scare you... I was just..... frustrated... Can you ever forgive me? "
He looked into my eyes and chattered.
" Only if I get two extra carrots for breakfast! "
I smirked and picked up my little bunny. He didn't protest at being picked up, being used to the constant contact I gave him.
" Oh thank you, Angel! I'll get right on your breakfast as soon as I get my mail, alright? "
He huffed in annoyance, but nodded and went in the house to wait for his meal. I went to the mailbox only to see it was empty. I scanned the inside with confusion...
" What in Celestia's name is going.... "
Mid thought, confetti and balloons sprung out of the mailbox, which made me squeak and jump away from it in fright. Then, an envelope shot out towards me. I couldn't move because of the fear and confusion of everything and merely shut my eyes and waited for impact. Only, before it could reach my face, it sprouted wings and stopped mere seconds from my face. I opened my eyes and grabbed the letter from the air, as its wings disappeared. I had a very good guess as to whom it was from, and I smiled as I opened it and read the first few words.

I giggled at his sign off on the letter and brought it inside. I gazed at it in anticipation at the words written. Discord was coming to visit me! The very thought made me overjoyed, my earlier sadness forgotten. And he said he had a surprise for me. What could it be? In my heart, I imagined something that probably wouldn't happen, but I could hope. I went to the kitchen to grab Angel his well deserved carrots, when I heard Angel start to squeak and chatter angrily in the living room. I rushed into the room to see what was wrong, and my eyes widened as I saw what or rather whom had angered Angel.
" My dear Fluttershy, it is so good to see my closest friend! Although the rabbit I could do without seeing...How have you be- "
I couldn't control myself any longer as I jumped on Discord and hugged him tight. He hugged me back immediantly and I felt a warm comforting feeling in my chest. I backed away and looked into his beautiful eyes that I missed so much. I smiled so hard that I thought either my face would break in half or my heart would burst with all the happiness I was feeling. He smiled back at me, with joy and amusement swimming in his crimsen red pupils.
" It would seem you missed me more then I expected, my dear "
My cheeks tinged pink, and I shyly smiled. Angel suddenly started kicking Discord in his cloven hoof. I quickly pulled him away and scowled hard at him. He squeaked at me, obviously enraged that Discord was here.
" Angel, you know better then to kick ponies!!! "
He started to chatter loudly and pointed accusingly at Discord. I gasped and glared at him, anger seeping into my eyes.
" That was very rude, Angel!!! Your not going to get any carrots with that attitude!!! "
He still looked angry, but he did not protest any longer. I went to the kitchen and got 3 carrots from the cupboard. I gently gave them to Angel.
" There you go Angel, now no more being rude to Discord, understood? "
He grumpily nodded, picked up his prizes, and left me alone with Discord. He looked rather amused at the whole affair. I sheepishly looked at him in an apologetic manner.
" I'm so sorry about Angel, Discord. I don't know why he is so.... aggressive towards you.... "
Discord chuckled, and wrapped his lion paw around my waist, giving me a dashing smile.
" Oh why does he always make me feel so.... helpless and weak in his arms? I swear, if he beckoned me come to him I would not be able to refuse...... "
I thought as his arm tightened, and his smile didn't falter.
" No need to apologize, Fluttershy, he wouldn't be able to hurt me even if I was as small as he is "
Immediantly, he snapped his eagle claw, and he became as small as Angel. I giggled at his antics. When he transformed back to normal size, he looked at me with pure joy.
" It's so good to hear your laughter again, my dear. I missed it when I was away "
I blushed and smiled at him. It was like the last few weeks without him were forgotten, and now my day had returned, with my heart in his palm. He took my hoof in his paw and dragged me outside. He kept going down the path, until we were in front of the Everfree Forest. I halted immediantly and looked at him in fear and confusion.
" Discord, where are you taking me? "
He gazed at me for a moment, then smiled in amusement.
" To your surprise, of course. "
I raised an eyebrow at him, and he sighed. He looked me straight in the eye with seriousness.
" Please, Fluttershy, can you trust me on this, please? "
I looked at him with confusion, but replaced it with the undying trust I had for him. I smiled at him and my heart nearly skipped a beat.
" Ok Discord I trust you "
He grinned widely and held my hoof softly this time. He kept silently reassuring me that going into the Everfree would be worth it. And as I left the boundary of Ponyville territory, and felt his warm paw on my hoof, I realized that nothing could be closer to heaven then just touching Discords paw.....
As Discord pulled me through the Everfree in a rush of excitement, I was looking at him with amusement that was evident on my features. He seemed so excited to show me my surprise, and I was growing more excited and happy by the minute. We soon came to a clearing, and my face held disappointment when Discord let go of my hoof. I had to hold back cry of protest as he left my side. He looked at me reassuringly.
" Close your eyes Fluttershy....... "
I obeyed and resisted the urge to peek. I heard wisps in the wind and the grass beneath my hooves shifted a little. I desperately wanted to peek, but kept them closed, for Discord. I soon felt his paw and claw on my hooves and I smiled at the warmth I was feeling. He pulled me forward and held my hoofs a moment longer.
" Discord, may I open my eyes now? "
He chuckled.
" Alright, look now, my dear "
When I moved my hooves from my eyes they immediantly went to my mouth in fascination and wonder.
" HE MADE ME A SECRET GROVE!!!!!!!!!!! "
I thought as I looked around. All around me grew flowers of every kind, and the trees glowed faintly in the morning light. My eyes started to water with tears of joy. I saw a decent sized water fall, with a pond surrounding it. The water seemed to shimmer gold, Celestia's rising sun capturing the clear waters. My tears streamed down my face, I looked around once more before turning to the most beautiful creature in there. Discord must have thought I hated it, because he rushed to my side in worry.
" Fluttershy, I'm so sorry.... I knew I put too many flowers in here!!!! I should've made the waterfall smaller!!!!! I should have..... "
I silenced him by hugging him snuggly around his neck. I pulled back to look at his confused face.
" Discord..... I absolutely love it!!!! It's so beautiful and tranquil!!! It's like you brought Heaven to earth and gave it to me.... "
More tears streamed down my face like rivers. I smiled joyously at him. He smiled back and wiped away my tears with his paws thumb. He looked so relieved and happy at my reaction. I felt my heart beat faster with each moment I looked at him. Even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to look away from his caring, mischievous, and mesmerizing eyes. He did this..... For me...... If only he knew how much he actually had made my heart soar. I was so overjoyed that I couldn't refrain from doing what I had dreamed to do to him so many times. I leaned up and passionately kissed him deeply. When I released him from my hold I saw his shocked face and realized what I had done. My happy smile turned into one of pure horror.
" I-I kissed him!!!!!!! "
I was so embarrassed that I ran from him and took off to the skies, happy tears now replaced by fearful ones. I might have just ruined our beautiful friendship! What was I thinking? What would he want with a wimpy Pegasus like me? I pretty much threw myself at him!!! Oh my Celestia, what have I done? I asked all the questions to myself as I flew to my favourate place; the Weeping Willow, my Weeping Willow. I landed most ungracefully and collapsed to the soft grass and cried.
" What have I done? What have I done? "
I repeated this question to myself for I don't know how long.... Why did I do that? Normally when I was around Discord I could restrain my emotions, what had changed? I didn't need a Pinkie sense to tell me what had changed.... He had given me a gift so pure, so beautiful that my emotions needed to be released at that one moment; that beautiful moment.
" But what does it matter now? I've blown my chances with Discord, not only at being his friend, but by maybe becoming something more.... "
That was all I ever wanted..... Ever since I had found out that I was in love with Discord.... I remembered that day clearly and I slightly smiled at the memory.....
I woke up one morning to find Angel glaring at me from the edge of my bed. I looked at him confused, until he angrily scurried down the hall and down the stairs. I followed, wondering what had gotten into my little bunny. When I reached the living room, I saw what was bugging or more of who was bugging him and smiled dreamily. Discord came over for tea yesterday and apparently didn't feel like going back to his pocket dimension or back to Canterlot. I smiled at his sleeping figure, curled up in a tiny blanket. I went to my room, grabbed a much larger blanket, and went down the stairs quietly. I pulled it over him, careful to not wake him up and gazed at his hoofsome face. Her eyes widened at that thought.
" Did I just call Discord hoofsome? "
When she looked back at him, I sighed lovingly at his face. I actually did find him very hoofsome, even if no one else did. I felt something slap me in the face that made me pale a little.
" Dear Sweet Celstia, do I.... love Discord? "
The very thought of loving Discord made my heart give a joyful pound. I suddenly broke a smile out on my face.
" I love Discord!!!!!!! "
My head screamed joyfully. I looked down at him again and couldn't help but see how adorable he was when he slept. Without caring, I leaned down and kissed his cheek. I walked away with a dazed smile, and went back to my room, after taking one last glance at my sleeping love.....
My tears flowed again at the remembrance of that moment. It had been like a dream for me, and I didn't want it to end..... But, sadly, as much as I don't want to leave the land of dreams and love, I had to wake up and face reality once more......
The Lovers Unite
I sat on my couch, with no emotion on my face..... I hadn't come out of my house since the kiss incident.....and that had been 5 days ago. I had barred up my home again, just like when Iron Will had turned me into an assertive tyrant, and refused to come out. I huddled into a ball while Angel stroked my mane in pity and assurance. I was silently crying to myself, when I heard a knock on the door. I glared at the wood and whoever was behind it.
" Go away!!! "
At first I thought they'd left, but then my door was kicked right off its hinges. Rainbow Dash stood there looking agitated and worried with Spike and the girls. I simply looked at them in annoyance.
" Do you just go to ponies houses and knock down their doors? Or is this just for me? "
I said bitterly. They seemed taken aback at my remark, but I didn't care. I didn't care about anything anymore..... Not since my love probably wanted nothing to do with me..... Rainbow Dash looked at me and saw the black circles and tear stains in my eyes.
" Fluttershy, what's going on? You haven't left your cottage in days.... Please tell us what's wrong... "
I looked at her in disdain and further annoyance. I wanted to be alone and they were in the way of that.
" Why do you push yourselves into my problems? I don't want to talk about it so if you would kindly escort yourselfs out... "
I pointed my hoof out the door, but no one moved to leave. I angrily glared at them. They are oh so stubborn when it came to friendship.
" Why must they be so.... constant as to help me when what I want is to be alone? "
I thought as everyone gave me a determined look. I sighed and lowered my hoof to my side, knowing they were not going to leave. I stood there, glaring at them.
" Fluttershy, would you please just tell us what's..... "
My eyes turned red with anger. My eyes narrowed and my teeth grinded together.
" I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU ANYTHING!???!?!!!!? YOU DON'T KNOW THE PAIN I FEEL IN MY HEART??!?!?!!! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE?!?!?!!!?! "
With my anger fueling my strength, I pushed them all out the doorway and quickly barred it up again. When I turned around, I realized what I had done. I put my hooves to my eyes in regret. I had just pushed my friends out when they were trying to help, just like I had with Angel. I cried loudly in remorse and heart break.
" Discord, what have you done to me..... It's like you've changed me just by looking at me with your smile.... Your sweet, caring, devious smile..... "
As I thought of Discord, I whimpered in agony at the memory of his face. His shocked face that said it all to me the day I kissed the Lord of Chaos. What could I offer Discord that he couldn't just make appear? All I had was my love for him, but I doubt he would want it. What would a powerful being like Discord want with a useless, naïve, wimpy pony like me? I was about to go into my room for comfort, when I saw a flash of light come from the living room. At first, I thought it was Twilight and the girls, teleporting into my house, and my earlier anger returned.
" Girls, I said go away! I want to be alone! I don't want to talk about what's wrong with me! I.... "
As I reached the living room, my heart got caught in my throat. It gave a welcoming thump at the sight of the visitor.
" D-Discord? W-What are you doing here? "
He looked at me and gave a sharp intake of breath at my face. He walked over to me and suddenly held me in a warm embrace. He pulled back and looked at me sadly and an unknown emotion stood out in his eyes.
" Fluttershy, why did you run from me? "
A sharp pain struck my heart. I slightly blushed and looked down.
" I-I-I was embarrassed..... I didn't mean.... What I mean is that I..... Oh I'm so sorry.... "
I felt his claw under my chin as he lifted my face up so our eyes would meet. When I looked at those crimson orbs, I melted completely. He slightly smirked at my shyness.
" Fluttershy.... I just want to understand.... Why would you.... Kiss me? Out of all the ponies you could have kissed, why me? "
I gulped as my fear of rejection took hold of me. What should I say? What should I do? I ran countless questions through my head as he watched me patiently, waiting for an answer.
" He deserves to know what took hold of me to do what I did.... "
I thought as his smile faded. I turned away from him, not wanting to look into his eyes and witness his reaction. I sighed and stuttered trying to get the words out.
" I-I had a good reason to do it.... When I saw how beautiful the grove you made me looked, I was overjoyed..... I..... Lost control of my emotions and.... They just...... "
I turned around and gave him a pleading look, one that showed how desperate and worried I really was. He looked at me patiently, waiting for me to finish.
" My point is that..... "
" The moment of truth, Fluttershy.... Get ready for rejection and tears.... "
I looked daringly at him. Love pouring into the depths of my ocean like eyes.
" Discord, I-I love you! I love you so much! When you were in Canterlot, I felt like half of my heart went with you! I ran from you that day because I feared rejection and hate from you! I know you could probably never feel the same, but that will never stop me from loving you for the rest of my life! You've stolen my heart and I don't want you to ever give it back! "
I looked at him with more love then I thought I was capable of. I saw him give me a shocked and blank expression, and I turned from him.
" Just like I thought would happen.... He hates me..... "
I heard his breath quicken and I turned to him in worry. I immediantly felt his lips on mine, and my eyes widened in shock. I soon gave in and silently moaned in pleasure. I heard him lowly growl in his throat and I smirked at this reaction. When we parted, both he and I were breathing heavily. He smiled widely at me.
" Fluttershy, my dear.... You aren't the only one who's heart has been stolen..... "
I gazed at him in hope. Is he saying....
" Fluttershy, I love you too... I've loved you since you first showed me friendship, maybe even when I wasn't reformed.... When you kissed me, yes I was shocked, but only because I thought a kind, beautiful, caring mare like you would never want to be with a monster like me.... "
Tears of happiness shone in my eyes. He felt the same! My face radiated my love for him. I reached up and stroked his cheek in affection.
" But the opposite is what I thought Discord..... I thought a powerful, intelligent, hoofsome creature like you wouldn't want anything to do with somepony like me..,.. Your not a monster, you were and never will be a monster in my eyes..... "
His own eyes were filling with tears. I smiled happily as I wiped them away. He did the same for me. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine again and I welcomed it with the pure undying love that burned in my heart for him. I promised myself in that moment that I would never stop loving him, because loving him and kissing him was all I needed to be in paradise..... Me and Discords paradise.....
I sat in bed and sighed as I gazed at Discord, sleeping soundly next to me. I laid back down on my side to look at his sleeping face. The past 2 weeks had been like Heaven for me. Everyday was memorable for me and Discord. He had asked Celestia if he could stay longer then he had planned, and she said it was alright. Before, when we were friends, I never thought Discord would be the chivalrous, romantic type. He proved me wrong when he took me on our first date.....
I looked through my closet for something nice to wear for my date with Discord. Our date was going to happen at 5 o'clock, and that was in 10 minutes. I soon found a dress I hadn't worn in a while. The dress was sea green with shoulder straps and a flowing train. The dress was my mothers, and I had to hold back the lump in my throat as I thought of her.
" No, tonight is supposed to be happy... "
I smiled softly at the dress and slid it on with ease. I twirled around in front of my mirror and giggled.
" I hope Discord likes it! "
I said aloud as I watched the graceful movement of the train. I had decided to put my hair in a loose bun, and quickly finished with satisfaction. I went downstairs to feed my animals before I left, when I gasped at the sight of my house. The whole room was filled with roses of every colour! I walked slowly to the middle of the room in amazement and awe. One vase of red roses caught my eye, and as I got closer, I saw a note attached to the bouquet.
To My Love, Fluttershy,
I thought you would enjoy these flowers as a representative of my love for you,
I didn't know which colour was your favourate, so I gave you all of them,
All of the flowers combined are how large my affection for you is,
I hope you like them as much as I do you,

I smiled widely at the note. I read it again just to feel the warmth and love that came with it.
" Discord never ceases to amaze me...."
I soon heard the door open and I grinned, sensing who it was. I turned around and smiled lovingly at Discord, who only gaped at me. I chuckled at his obvious amazement.
" Is something wrong, Discord? "
He seemed to come out of his daze and smiled at my joke.
" Nothing is wrong, my dear. I'm simply admiring the beauty standing in front of me "
I blushed wildly. Every complement he gave me always made me blush. I smiled at what he wore. It was a simple black vest over a white dress shirt, with a red tie that was obviously tried and failed to tie properly. I smirked at him flirtatiously.
" And it would seem the hoofsome stallion that I love dearly dressed up for the occasion? "
His cheeks tinged pink. He suddenly started to look worried. I giggled at his nervousness and flew up to his face. I gave him a kiss on the cheek to calm his nerves. He let out a relaxed sigh and looked at me lovingly. I smiled shyly.
" So, what is it that you have planned, Discord? "
He smirked mischievously at me.
" I have something really special planned, but your going to have to wait until later, alright? "
I smiled and nodded. Discords surprises were never dull or disappointing, they were always joyful and fun. He took my hoof gently and we walked out the door. He took me to the secret grove, our secret grove. When we got there, I saw a candle lit dinner for two. I smiled up at him as I went to sit. He rushed to pull my chair out for me, and I giggled at his nervousness and sat, giving him a grin of silent gratitude. When he sat, awkwardly because of his body, I leaned over and touched his paw in a soft, caring embrace.
" Discord, this is so.... lovely and romantic..... "
I jokingly grinned as a funny thought occurred to me.
" Did you have help from any pony? "
He put his hand to his heart in mock hurt.
" Is it that hard to believe that I can do something romantic for the mare I love? "
He started to pretend to pout. I giggled at his adorable pouty face. He seemed to lose the antics at my laughter and smiled.
" Perhaps a salad to start with, my dear? "
I nodded in agreement. He snapped his claws and a pleasant looking salad appeared in front of me, and another in front of him. I smiled shyly at him, and daintily ate my salad. We both spoke of many things that night, of common and of special things, until Discord pulled me away from the table gently.
" I think your surprise has been delayed long enough, my love "
My heart gave a loud thump at him saying "my love". Those two words were like a warm breeze on my face. I followed him, gladly, up to the top of a hill. I looked at him strangely as he walked to peak of the hill. Before I could ask him what he was doing, when his fingers snapped loudly. Fireworks exploded behind him and flowers fell from the sky. One flower landed perfectly in my hair, a blue water lily. I looked at Discord in wonderment. He smiled and took my hoof tenderly.
" Fluttershy.... this..... this is what you mean to me "
I smiled at that beautiful memory. I kissed Discord gently on the cheek with love, and fell into a world of happy dreams and hopes for our future.... Although I didn't know that it wouldn't be as simple as a " happily ever after".......
The Complication
I woke up the next morning to find Discord had left my side. I refused to get out of bed, because the warmth was too pleasing to deny. I wrapped my blanket around me to retain some of warmth my body craved.
" Discord must've went back to Canterlot early.... "
I thought, as I heard someone at the door and groaned sleepily. As I came downstairs, Angel glared at the door at being interrupted from his carrot-filled dreams. I smirked at my bunnies obvious annoyance and opened the door with a bright smile. My smile faded as my friends stood there, and a guilty frown took its place. They all looked more worried then last time.....
" Oh dear Celestia! I didn't apologize to them! "
My eyes started to water with tears of remorse and deep sadness.
" Fluttershy... Please can you tell us what's wro- "
I hugged Twilight and cried a guilty apology.
" I'm so sorry for not telling you all what was wrong! I'm sorry for shutting you all out! Please, forgive me.... "
She seemed confused and cautious at first, but hugged me back with a content sigh. I looked up at them in regret. They smiled forgivingly and I let out a breath in relief. I invited them inside, and as they sat down, Discord shot confetti as he appeared and smiled brightly at me, not seeing the girls, looking confused. He walked over, snaked himself around me, and kissed me affectionately on the cheek.
" Hello, my dear! Sorry I had to leave you this morning, Fluttershy, but Celestia demanded I come to Canterlot to fix a minor problem she was having. "
He tried to kiss me again, aiming for my lips, but I ,reluctantly, dodged his attempt. He looked at me, slightly hurt and confused, as I indicated our friends. His cheeks tinged scarlet, and he chuckled nervously.
" O-Oh, hello, my dearest friends... How have you been lately? "
Rainbow looked at me, concern etched on her face. The others soon set their gaze on Discord, who was looking flustered. Rainbow glared at him, dangerously.
" What.... exactly was that, Dip-cord?
Discord took on his usual denying-to-co-operate face.
" I don't know what your talking about, Rainbow Dash. Can't I give my dear friend Fluttershy a peck on the cheek? "
Rainbow glared daggers at Discord. Everyone else started to look concerned at me.
" Not when afterwards you aim for square on the lips! "
Twilight looked at me, as if hungry for answers.
" Fluttershy? "
I felt my mind crack in fear. My heart pounded against my chest. I let out a sigh.
" Time to face the music, as they say "
I looked at my friends with all the bravery I could muster in my time of fear. My fear almost showed in my eyes, but I replaced it with a look of determination.
" Girls.... I love Discord and... he loves me just as much... "
They all looked shocked at first, then their eyes burst forth flames of anger.
" WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!? "
Rainbow put her face right in front of Discords. Her face as red as a ripened cherry.
" What kind of spell did you put her under!???!!??!!! "
Discord started to unleash his anger, starting with Rainbow.
" I would do nothing of that sort to Fluttershy! But to you? It would be my pleasure.... "
Discord snapped his fingers and Rainbow was forced roughly into a overly laced dress that was pink all over. Rainbow's eyes turned a fiery red.
" Discord!!?!? What did you do to me?!??!!!!?!? "
Discord laughed loudly as he wiped a tear from his eye. He smiled deviously at Rainbow.
" I simply got this dress for you, Dashie! Why, don't you like it? "
She tried to tackle him, but he teleported out of the way. Everyone started to argue with Discord, and they all received something from him. Twilight tried to calm everyone down, but she soon grew angry herself. They all soon had a spell given to them. Twilight was surrounded by ripped up books and they were being torn on her as she tried to get rid of them, Rarity tried not to burst into tears at her now green hair, Pinkie's hair went straight as she was in a dark corner where no laughter or parties were, Applejack looked at the phantoms of her family, arguing and broken up, and Rainbow was trying and failing to get her accursed dress off. I looked at all of them, in so much pain, and I started to let tears of sorrow and disappointment fall down my face. I couldn't bare to see them like this anymore. My own anger was starting to boil inside me. I tried to calm down, but my anger refused to leave me. I couldn't keep my sadness and fury inside me any longer.
" STOP IT!!!! "
Everyone looked at me, terrified at the look of pure rage on my face. My anger did not subside at the look of fear on their faces. I stared at them for a moment, then my rage cooled down as I realized their faces were full of fear. My eyes watered up with shame and despair.
" Why? W-Why can't my friends and the love of my life get a-along? It's all I've ever asked of you.... I-It's all I-I-I've ever wanted from you.... "
I couldn't even look at them..... bickering and arguing.... because of me.... I needed some time away from them. I put my hoofs to my eyes and flew out the door. I heard them call out to me, but my heart ached as I heard Discord. I had to ignore my hurting heart at his voice called me in remorse. I flew as fast as I could, realizing that my nightmare had become reality......
I sat by the waterfall of my secret grove. I don't know how long I had sat there and wept, with my heart pouring into my sobs.
" It's as if my minds torment has become reality, to hurt me.... and those who I love dearly.... "
I whimpered in agony at the very memory of my friends and lover arguing. It was like my heart break from the previous nights nightmare was brought from my mind and placed at my hoofs. There was only one thing that night that gave me tears of fear...... and as I remembered it, my heart lay claim to my throat.....
I stood in a meadow of war, with my only light being the blood red sun that covered the field. I looked around and saw five figures to my left, and only one to my right. I recognized them imediantly, and slightly smiled. My smile vanished and turned into a look of fear as I saw their faces. My friends looked worried and angry, most of their anger directed at the creature that had taken my heart. Discord emerged from the shadows, with a mixed look of malice and love, except the malice wasn't put towards me. He smiled at me, but this smile put an unsteady feeling inside me, not the usual comforting, warm feeling. My friends pushed Discord away, making me give a sigh of disappointment. They all looked at me, worriedly.
" Fluttershy! What are you doing with that monster!?!!!?! "
I gasped. My friends would never go as low as calling Discord a monster..... Discord barged forward and grabbed me roughly around the waist.
" And why, Fluttershy, are you still friends with these nasty, conniving, and quiet rude friends of yours? "
I pushed away from Discord, and looked at them all, fearfully.
" Why are they acting as if I need to- "
My face paled as realization struck me. They wanted me to choose friendship or love.... My ears went flat on my head, as I looked at their expectant and angry faces. I looked at Discord, my day, my heart, my other half...... but he wasn't his usual loving self when I looked at his face. He looked more..... love crazed, angry, and, startlingly, blood thirsty. When I looked at my friends, I saw similar changes. I saw no friendly, affectionate, or caring trace in their eyes, sadly, I only saw revengeful, furious, and hateful looks. I didn't want to chose one over the other...... They were both big parts of my life and without one... I would be.... guilty and sad. They all looked at me, insanely.
" Make your choice, Fluttershy..... You can not delay your decision forever.... "
They said in sync. I started to back away from them, as they were starting to make fear creep into my mind. Both sides looked at each other then, and started to fight. Discord threw Twilight to the side with his magic, while Rainbow was encased in yellow energy. Applejack tried to lasso him to the ground, but the rope turned on her and tied her up with an apple in her mouth. Pinkie pounced on him and he was caught off guard. He collapsed as everyone began to beat on him. I was frozen in shock at the sight, and couldn't move to stop them as much as I tried. Discord, suddenly, made a burst of magic throw the girls back to the ground. Rarity slid beside me, and I gasped at the dip red gashes in her pristine white coat. Everyone had been injured, both sides looked near death. I soon saw my friends were moaning in pain on one side of the field, while Discord was moaning as loud as all five of them combined. I didn't know which to tend to first: My friends, who had always been there for me, or Discord, who showed me the love that I returned..... I started to cry from the confusion and pain in my heart. I soon heard nothing.... Everything was quiet. I looked around, but the only thing I saw was darkness all around. What awoke me that night was the screams of agony and torment that sounded like my friends and lover......
My eyes began to water and stream down my face. The horrible memory of that night making my heart heavy with fear and a great sadness.
" I can't lose them.... They are all a part of me.... If I lose even one of them, I'll crumble into despair...... I'm not..... strong enough to bare that kind of weight on my heart..... "
" You could never lose us..... "
I snapped my head up at the voices. I slowly turned and saw Discord and the girls, looking at me with worry, guilt, and sadness apparent in their eyes. Discord came forward and held me against him.
" Fluttershy, my love, I never meant to cause you despair..... I just.... lost control when I thought...... your friends would..... "
I silenced him, knowing what he was going to say.
" You thought they would take me from you.... "
He simply nodded. I slightly smiled, touched by his worry that I knew I would never allow. I kissed him, softly, giving a a silent message of reassurance. I turned to the girls, who were looking awkward and guilty. I smiled and stretched my forelegs out for them. They grinned, and rushed towards me for a hug of forgiveness. When I let go, Twilight stepped forward, for the first time, along with the others, admiring the beauty of the grove. She then looked to me, glancing at Discord.
" Fluttershy.... Did.... Did Discord.... make this..... for you? "
I smirked and nodded in approval. She looked at Discord in regret, along with every pony else. I smiled, hopeful of what their faces might mean.
" Twilight..... does this mean.... that you approve of Discord, even a little? "
Twilight bit her lip for a moment, then sighed.
" Fluttershy.... as long as you are happy, I'll be happy "
She smiled, as the others nodded their approval. I looked at Discord, with tears of joy brimming my eyes. He smiled at the girls with a look a gratefulness.
" Well, my friends I'm so happy you all decided to- "
I passionately kissed Discord, not being able to contain my unlimited joy for the approval of my friends. He immediately kissed me back with eagerness, and I smiled lovingly into the kiss. The future might hold sweeter fruits than now, but until then, I will simply enjoy the sweet love that I receive and savour from Discord......
" Oh for the love of Celestia, come up for air already! "
Me and Discord released each other from our loving hold, and laughed whole hardily at Rainbow with everyone. All I knew was that my friends and Discord would be loved by me always......
I sat in bed with Discord, and felt giddy at the thought of the next day's events. I had never thought much of marriage until I was old enough, and when my mind had been transformed into a romanticized paradise. It was innocent romance that I had once thought of, until I learned what was 'traditional' and 'proper' on the couples wedding night in this time and age. I looked at his peaceful face, as I silently smiled. A thought made me smile wider.
" Just think Fluttershy, Discord, the Lord of Chaos, in a few hours, will be your husband! "
I stroked his cheek, affectionately. He smiled in his sleep at my hoofs contact. I realized I was too excited to fall asleep, and, unwillingly, got up out of his arms and proceeded to the living room. I went into the guest room, the only place I could hide a certain something Discord wasn't supposed to see until the wedding. I admired the silky fabric of my wedding dress. I poked my head out the door to listen and see if any pony was up. When I didn't hear anything, I went to the dress, taking it off its stand, and slipping it on. I gazed at the mare in the mirror, a mare I didn't recognize. She wore a wedding dress that had off the shoulder loose straps, gold rimmed the chest line and the fairly long train. A single bloomed red rose resided at the middle of her chest. The mare in the reflection copied the movement of my hoof reaching to grab the veil. The veil itself had a ring of turquoise blue water lilies, holding it all in place. I twirled in place, entranced by the movement of it.
" Well, I must say, my dear, you look as if you were an angel sent from above in that dress! "
I silently gave out a shrill squeal at Discords sudden appearance. I tripped on my dress and tumbled into the curtain by the window. I heard him laugh whole heartily at the scene. I stood up, without revealing the dress, and glared at him.
" Discord, don't scare me like that! Why are you even up so late? "
He looked at me flirtatiously.
" Well the bed wasn't really warm after my fiancé left my side "
I blushed crimson. I was still angry that he would scare me like that, but that smile caught me in a bind of forgiveness every time I saw it. I relented, and smiled, still staying concealed with the curtain.
" You still shouldn't be in here, it's bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding "
He smiled. Coming over and placing a gentle kiss on my cheek. He started to place kisses down my neck, and made it almost to my throat before I giggled and pushed him away.
" And we are definitely not supposed to do that before after the wedding "
He put on a fake pout, as I laughed at his adorable face.
" Go back to bed, dear, I'll be up in a second "
For the first time since I met him, he sighed and went upstairs to wait. I slipped the dress and veil off and put them back on the stand. Admiring it once more, I headed back to my bedroom, finding my love laying there waiting. I laid beside him, my back turned to him. He held me to his chest, which was warm and I heard the faint comforting sound of his heart beating rhythmically. I smiled before drifting to sleep, thinking of the joy that life would bring tomorrow.....
At The Wedding.....
I breathed heavily as the time was about to strike. I was sitting outside the doors of the chapel when my nervousness and anxiety crept into my mind. The thoughts all dissipated as Discords voice caressed my ears.
" Everything will be alright, Fluttershy "
I smiled and calmed down. I heard my cue as the doors opened and I saw him there, looking like a nervous wreck. I almost laughed, but was able to hold it back and walked gracefully up the isle. I glanced around at the decor, and smiled. In every corner of the room, a certain flower bloomed in bundles. The end of the isle had a beautiful arc, with Luna under it. Me and Discord decided we wanted Twilight to be best mare, so we chose Luna to preside over the ceremony. Discord looked like he was ready to run a mile, so I gave him a reassuring smile, and he seemed to be less tense. While Luna began the ceremony, I couldn't help but look at Discords eyes mezmirized once again by there colours. I looked at him lovingly as Luna came to my piece of the binding of our hearts.
" Do thou Fluttershy, take Discord to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, now and for eternity? "
I smiled brightly before replying.
" I do, now and for eternity "
She turned to Discord, who chuckled nervously.
" And do thou, Discord, take Fluttershy to be your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, now and for eternity? "
He started to frantically look around, before I reached over and squeezed his paw in reassurance. He let a breath of relaxation and smiled at me.
" I do, now and for all eternity "
I giggled. Luna smiled as she read the last lines of our marriage.
" Then I hereby pronounce thee husband and wife, thou may kiss the bride, Discord "
He held me close, as we closed the gap between us. Everyone cheered, but I couldn't hear, the joy of having Discord as my husband now, made the world around us fade away. We pulled apart and smiled unconsciously at eachother. Happiness means different things to ponies all around, but for me, it's only one word....
