//-------------------------------------------------------// Switched -by lilysplash5181- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 I’ve always been a morning person.  Even without setting my alarm clock, I naturally wake up at 5:15 a.m. to … be productive.  Yeah right.  Usually I jump out of bed and run into the kitchen, scavenging for breakfast.  Then I run into my room, shut the door, turn on the lights, grab my laptop, and plug in some earbuds.  While most teenagers my age stay up late and sleep in, I sleep at a normal time and wake up earlier than the sun.  It’s a bad habit, I admit, but there’s nothing better than falling asleep to the thought of waking up and watching My Little Pony episodes. Yes, I’m a pegasister.  I would say closet pegasister, but lots of people already know this due to all my profile pictures being about ponies, and my wallpapers, and my desktops, and my blogs (Yes, I blog), and my biography lines.  Usually my bio in any social media is “Dance is Life <3 I’m a pegasister and I’m proud of it <3 Kats rule and kats rule!!!”  in that order, ‘cuz dance is my life, ponies are my second life, and kats are my third.  I would add in music as a 4th but I never have enough space. Last night, I changed my Facebook profile picture to a pony request I had drawn for me of my OC/Ponysona.  My ponysona is a pale sea green pegasus, with a black mane and a purple streak, and a cutie mark of my signature symbol, a splash of water drawn as a lily with a swirly stem.  I named her Lilysplash, after my screen name and pseudonym for practically everything I use. “Ding.”  I got a Facebook notification!  Logging in, I saw that my friend had commented on my picture.  “Aren’t you a little old for my little pony?”  When I saw that, I was purely insulted.  Really, I’m on the younger side in the Brony Fandom.  I mean, really?  I gave up talking sense into him and  just shut off my laptop.  It was time for me to sleep anyway.  I took off my watch, bracelet, and necklace, placed them on my desk and turned off the lights and jumped into bed.  I fell asleep instantly. That night, I didn’t have any dreams sadly.  I love having dreams, whether nightmare or not.  I still want to test the idea of being conscious in the dreamworld.  I’ve done it before, actually having thoughts in a dream, and I’ve always wanted to do it again.  Speaking of which, I need to remind myself to pray to Princess Luna for a dream next time.  Anyway, I woke up with a really bad back itch. Groaning, I reach my arms behind my back for the itchy spot when my hands hit something soft and feathery.  Sitting up, I reach up to rub my eyes, but I don’t see my hands at all.  What I do see are two identical cyan hooves. “No way,” I mutter under my breath.  My voice sounds scratchier than usual, but I don’t give it another thought.  A crazy theory runs through my mind, and I want to test it out.  I climb out of bed and look behind my shoulder.  As expected, a pair of feathery blue wings are perched on my spine.  Widening my eyes in disbelief, I look down at my body to see the body of a pony, hooves and all.  I really need to find a mirror. Taking a few steps at a time on all four hooves, I try to walk to the bathroom I share with my sister.  It’s pretty early in the morning, and the sun isn’t up yet.  Sadly, I slam right into the wall… which feels soft for some reason.  Letting my eyes adjust to the dark, I look around to see a room that isn’t my own.  Almost everything is made up of a material that looks like fluffy clouds.  Struggling to get to my hooves, I walk around the room to find a doorknob in the middle of a cloud-wall.  Then the next challenge comes up: opening a door.  I place my hoof right over the doorknob and twist it.  As efficient as a hoof should be, it stays put.  The struggles of opening this doorknob continues for about a minute, before I give up and bite around the doorknob, twisting the door open.  I fling the door back in pride to see a flying green thing come up and hit me in the head.  Like any other day, I black out. “Ugh, what a dream that was,” I sigh to myself.  It feels like everything is back to normal, except my voice still sounds scratchy.  Feeling slightly disturbed again, I open my eyes to see Tank hovering right over me, looking as adorable as in the episode Tanks for the Memories.  I sit up and see the same cyan pony body instead of a normal human body.  Did I mention I’m naked?  This feels like both a dream and a nightmare, to be something I’m not. Just to prove to myself a point, I twist my head back to stare at my butt, no, flank, and see exactly what I expected: A cloud with a tri-colored lightning bolt.  Sitting back, I give up struggling and accept reality as what it is.  Somehow, with this crazy day, I end up becoming Rainbow Dash. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 “Deep breaths.  Deep breaths,”  I tell myself.  Surprisingly, I’m not freaked out at all.  If anything, I’m overly excited.  After all, it’s not every day a brony gets to be their second favorite pony.  And yes, RD isn’t my favorite pony; Fluttershy is.  Which is where I’m confused, why am I not Fluttershy?   I prefer Fluttershy over RD because she’s the most similar to me: quiet and reserved, while RD is who I want to be: energetic, leadership, and confident.  Then I suddenly whack myself in the head. “Not now, don’t go fangirling,” I say, speaking to myself, “Figure out what’s going on.”  Getting to my feet, no, hooves, slowly, I try walking to the door that I opened earlier.  Peering through the doorway, I see a hallway and some stairs.  Exploring this house that appears to be Rainbow Dash’s, I finally find the front door.  Again using my mouth, I open it to see the sky. As a pegasister, I know the basic layout of Ponyville.  But actually seeing it in real life is an amazing experience.  Every detail is there, every building, every pony… every pony!  I need to find somepony to help me figure out what’s going on.  When I think about it, I figure Twilight Sparkle would know what’s going on, and I just need to find her in her castle. Spotting her castle at the edge of the town, I forget one major detail.  Rainbow Dash lives in a cloud.  Above the ground.  Stepping over the edge of the cloud was probably the stupidest thing I’ve ever done. “Ahhhhh!” I scream silently in my head.  Really, who screams out loud these days?  Falling to a possible death, I try to work my back muscles and spread my wings out.  I’ve never skydived before, but I understand the concept.  Now floating softly downward, I experimentally flap the wings once, then twice.  Pretty soon, I get the idea of flying, and I love it.  Now I know why Rainbow Dash loves her wings so much.  The wind in my mane and the freedom of the sky overwhelms me, and I know that I would never trade this feeling for anything else. Finally, my challenge came up: to land.  I slow my flapping down, until I feel my hooves on solid ground.  Silently congratulating myself for passing Flying 101, I lift my head to stare at the crystal castle in front of me.  Several guards were milling around, none giving me a second glance.  Surprised, I step past the front gates and trot to the double doors. Knocking, I wait patiently for somepony to open the doors.  One of the royal guards comes up to me and with a confused expression, opens his mouth. “Excuse me, miss Rainbow Dash, but why are you knocking?  Usually you fly right in,” he states.  I look at him for a second before catching my mistake. Summoning my inner Rainbow Dash, I stutter, “O-of course!  I know, like, flying is 20 percent cooler than knocking, uhh, I was uhh just about to go, uhh, fly in!”  Smiling like an idiot, I use my mouth to turn the doorknob, walk in, and quickly shut the door behind me. “Good going there,” I scold myself.  Really, I should be good at winging it by now, and especially now, since I’ve got wings.  Yeah, I’m bad at puns. “Rainbow!  What are you doing here?” I hear a very, very familiar voice behind me.  Twisting around, I see Twilight Sparkle standing there, her head cocked in confusion. “Oh, um, Twilight!  I have a question for you!” I mumble.  Twilight brightens up at the word “question” and beckons with her tail to the throne room.  Once inside, I see the six thrones just like in the Cutie Map and the tree roots from Castle Sweet Castle.  I stop for a minute and try to process the fact that I’m living practically every brony’s dream.  But I give up after a while, and accept the awesomeness unfolding before my eyes. “So?”  Twilight asks.  I blink and stare at her.  She sighs and rephrases her question, “What’s your question, Rainbow?” “Oh!  Well, you see, I’m not from around here,” I blabber.  “Somehow, I ended up …” “Calm down Rainbow,” she interrupts me.  “I know.” Gaping like a stupid fish (again), I gaze in confusion, “You know?” “Well, I don’t know all about it, but last night I was testing a spell with Princess Celestia, and it went berserk,” she laughed.  “And you’re not the only one either.”
