Chapter 1: Trip to Equality High

Load Full StoryNext Chapter

It was a bright morning in Canterlot High, and it was a normal day like any other. In the front of the school however, was a dark purple luxury-sized car that pulled up next to the walkway. The front left door opened and out stood out a mysterious lady that had purple and green hair, as it was curled up in a French braid bun at the back; she also wore a pink skirt with a symbol of an equal sign on it and her shirt was the same colour as the car. She took off her sunglasses and her eyes appeared blue, then she smirked when she turned around to see Canterlot High. As the rest of the school was busy with students inside the building, Principal Celestia was in her office at her desk when suddenly she eyed the door and the mysterious lady walked in when she opened it. She sat down on the chair across from Celestia, and she formed a formal smile.

"So, I understand that you're here to apply Canterlot High students to move to your school in case some of them have to move town next year?" asked Principal Celestia.

The welcoming guest nodded her head with a proud smirk.

"Yes Principal Celestia, that is exactly why I am here. My school opened up last month, so I want to encourage other students to have their findings in my new school. This is a really popular place, so I expect a lot of students to go." reasoned the guest principal.

Principal Celestia formed a generous smile and nodded in agreement. "Very well, I'll need you to fill out these papers first so to make sure that we will agree on my terms; Principal Glimmer."

Then, she handed the papers over to Principal Glimmer and she put them down on the desk in front of her.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure that Equality High School is acceptable for your students! After all, everyone is equal." she admitted smugly.

As the first bell rang the next few weeks later, every student in Canterlot High paired with their own friends and they walked to a particular direction; knowing that there weren't going to be any classes at all these first three days this week. Suddenly the sound of a mic picked up through the speakers.

"Good morning everyone, please proceed to the hall. All students who are late or haven't signed up for the excursion will be staying behind for normal lessons." announced Principal Celestia as her voice echoed throughout the school.

Sunset Shimmer was walking alone in the school hallway carrying her bag on her back like everyone else, suddenly Rainbow Dash appears next to her and Sunset looks up at her.

"Hey Sunset, ready for the excursion?" she asked her.

"Ready as I'll ever be!" she responded as she put a thumb up.

She then followed Rainbow Dash to the school hall knowing that they'll regroup with the rest of their friends at the area. However, Sunset Shimmer started to grow a little worried.

"I'm a bit nervous Rainbow, Equality High School doesn't sound like there's too much freedom going on there. How will we know if it's any good for the students moving there next year?" asked Sunset nervously. However, Rainbow Dash was still smiling.

"I'm sure it'll be fine, it's not like we're going to live where it is anytime soon. Besides, there are other schools like Manhatten if people aren't interested." admitted Rainbow positivity. Suddenly, from out of nowhere Pinkie Pie popped up in front of the two with a worried face; then she started jumping around everywhere.

"What if that school is full of students who wear crazy smiles and they aren't really happy smiles but eeevil smiles, and what if their Principal is not really all that nice? What if she locks us in forever without us getting out at all?! Oh, there's Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack! Gotta dash, bye!" yelled Pinkie Pie as she then dashed to the nearby front of the student crowd where Applejack, Fluttershy Rarity are almost seen in it before they and Pinkie disappear in the crowd.

Sunset Shimmer shook her head not questioning where Pinkie Pie gets her shenanigans from, then she formed a cheesy smile as she rubbed her neck with her right hand nervously.

"I guess I'm just overreacting, whatever Pinkie said sounds like a nightmare fantasy." she said with an unsure tone in her voice. Rainbow Dash then shrugged.

"She must be having too many Pinkie nightmares, by the sounds of it. I'm sure we'll do fine. If Pinkie Pie says it's true, I don't blame her for being predictable like the time when she revealed our Twilight was a princess from the pony world." admitted Rainbow Dash.

Sunset Shimmer looked around in puzzlement, she knew they were missing someone as Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Applejack were already here. She looked to Rainbow Dash eye-widened in concern about their missing member of the group. "Speaking of our Twilight, where's the other Twilight? Is she coming?" asked Sunset eagerly. Rainbow shrugged.

"I don't know, she said something about staying behind because she had catch-up to do or something. That's all I gathered. I'm not fond of small gossip." she responded to Sunset.

"I don't blame her, after what happened a few weeks ago she wouldn't want to go to a school where there are no shenanigans. She's probably studying for more magic or something, to protect Canterlot High. I don't want the whole weight to appear on my shoulders again after the Friendship Games incident." said Sunset.

The student line was speeding up faster the more Sunset and Rainbow walked, everyone was disappearing into the hall. Then they were the last of the few to walk in.

"Alright, where are the others?" asked Sunset Shimmer.

Rainbow Dash peeled her eyes opened as she looked across the hall. She spotted the rest of their friends on the right side talking to each other in a group.

"There they are!" Rainbow shouted happily as she pointed a finger at them.

Everyone was seated where they were like in the Friendship Games, Sunset and her friends were sitting altogether this time and as everyone gossiped Principal Celestia came up to the stage to prepare her speech.

"Good morning, everyone. I hope you are ready for our excursion this week! Who's excited?" asked Principal Celestia cheerfully.

Most of the students raised their hands up and cheered in reply, but some of the school students had their arms folded and eye brows raised in suspicion about the new school; while Sunset was feeling anxious and Pinkie was looking unimpressed.

"We hope that most of you are looking forward to seeing this school, it has a cheerful reputation and they have great manners over there. I hope as they welcome you with open arms, you will feel welcomed." said Principal Celestia.

Murmurs from the students enchanted across the school hall.

Everyone was patiently waiting for the bus at the front of the school, when it arrived the bus door opened and the school students got in. Sunset and her friends were lined up together behind each other in their seats as the other students were with their respective partner. Fluttershy and Rarity were the only ones that were the most excited out of the group.

"I can't wait to see Equality High School! It sounds like a peaceful place." said Fluttershy cheerfully.

"I hope the design of the building and everything else looks as magnificent as Crystal Prep!...Oh, and our school too." admitted Rarity.

While she loved the idea of everyone wearing different dresses, she got a little jealous of how fashionable Crystal Prep looked. But since the Friendship Games rivalry was over, she wasn't too bothered about Crystal Prep being more pretty than Canterlot High. Sunset was busy reading her special book that was dedicated to sending letters to Princess Twilight, to look at previous lessons from her time in Equestria to get her mind off Equality High School for a while as the others talked about it.

"And the music! I hope I got an awesome athlete to challenge, and a band to face! Then again, I might have to face the whole school..." said Rainbow who lost her touch with excitement.

The rest looked up to Pinkie minus Sunset as they looked at her suspiciously, because she was silent the whole time. Pinkie then eyed them confused.

"What? Can you imagine a school, where everyone was equal and was educated equality? What if they were all brain-levelled as Twilight? Our heads would explode with their logic!" shouted Pinkie Pie who was mad as she thought about all the dangerous possibilities of the school.

Rainbow rubbed her chin in thought.

"You know, she is right. I hope it isn't as bad as I hope you think it is, Pinkie. Students can avoid all the dangerous magic there." suggested Rainbow. All of the students then looked to Sunset as they wanted to hear what she thought of the school. But then, Rainbow Dash remembered.

"Oh, don't worry. She's just as anxious as you are Pinkie." said Rainbow Dash cheerfully. They all eyed Sunset who was darting her eyes left and right, putting her head into the book.

"The poor girl, maybe we should move onto another topic. Sunset will get more anxious if we have to face another magical threat again." admitted Rarity sorrowfully.

The others who have talked in the group nodded their heads in agreement.

Author's Note

This is my first chapter, I hope my writing is better than the last story I deleted. I am learning a bit better now about the writing format and while the characters are a bit OOC, I'm getting used to writing the cast still and I left Twilight out because her human counterpart would be hard to write, since I am not sure about how much development she has had yet during Friendship Games. I'm at a camping site while writing this story and since there is a lot of noise outside to night I will continue writing the next chapter tomorrow. I'll make up the rules of the schools in Equestria's human world as I go along, since it is a magical place and random things can happen, so I hope you are enjoying the story so far. :)

The rest of the chapters will be filled with elements from the Cutie Map episode, but I will try to make some more twists from here.
