While the mane six are enjoying a meteor shower, one meteor changes its course and lands in the Everfree. The group of friends rush after it to ensure the entire forest doesn't burn down, but what they find may be more than they bargained for. A furry companion with strange powers asks the ponies for help with finding his kind and defeating a dark evil that followed it.
