Chapters Breakfast for Three for One
Fluttershy yawned.
Snug in her cozy little cottage, Fluttershy hummed an improvised tune as she worked. She couldn't help but smile, the welcome heat of the fireplace embracing her with a warm hug as she carefully put the finishing touches on her long-awaited morning meal. Taking care not to spill, she shook a can of powdered sugar over a stack of three expertly-cooked waffles, covering them in a layer of sweet, fluffy snow.
Exchanging the can for another, she drizzled a few lines of melted chocolate over her culinary concoction as she planned for the busy day ahead of her. Let’s see, she thought, absentmindedly covering the waffles in a thick layer of chocolate, Today I need to feed the animals, go to the market, clean out the bird cages, give angel a bath…
The list seemed to go on forever. To any other pony, facing such a long list of chores would elicit a moan of dread, but Fluttershy looked forward to caring for her animal roommates. More than that, however, Fluttershy looked forward to indulge in her other passion: food. Despite everything else on her to-do list, right now, there was soon only one thing on her mind.
Breakfast.
Fluttershy hummed to herself, a wide smile on her face as she picked up the plate and began the short journey to the table.
At long last, she sat down, the wooden chair below her moaning in agony as soon as she planted her fat rump down on it. Its complaints fell on deaf ears, however, as the groaning of another had drowned it out: that of her stomach.
Breakfast, after all, was the most important meal of the day, and Fluttershy certainly didn’t forget that. Before her was a feast fit for three, if not four full grown ponies. Fluttershy was a big eater, however, and she wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of her and her food.
Spread out across the table was a smorgasbord of various foods that she had prepared for herself. To her left was a plate piled high with pancakes, drenched in a thick layer of maple syrup and topped with a pat of butter. Next to that was a tall glass of fresh orange juice, moist with condensation produced by the humid summer air. Two pieces of toast, generously slathered with peanut butter, sat on a napkin beside it. To her right were three additional items. Two muffins sat together on a plate, accompanied by a bright yellow banana.
Those were only the sides, however. In front of the pudgy pegasus sat the main course: a large plate piled high with hash browns, a slice of peach pie, and two large waffles covered in a thick coating of powdered sugar.
Fluttershy would have paused for a moment to admire her work, but she was far too hungry to delay any longer. After all, she had skipped second dinner yesterday after the stuffing she gave herself from first dinner had left her passed out on the couch til morning.
Without a moment of hesitation, she dug in.
Fluttershy’s first victims were the two muffins, for no particular reason other than the fact that they were the first she had prepared, and therefore had had the most time to cool off. A culinary connoisseur like her knew that nothing was worse than burning your tongue and ruining a perfectly good meal.
Her lips parted to make way, her second chin and fat-filled cheeks wobbling ever so slightly as they did so. They came together again soon after biting off a third of the pastry, but not before letting out a moan of pleasure from the depths of their owner.
“Mmm…” she moaned, chomping off another third of the blueberry muffin, “Pinkie Pie sure knows how to bake the most delicious muffins”. The final third soon found itself traveling down her gullet after the first two.
The second muffin happened to be her favorite flavor: chocolate chip. It disappeared into her mouth even faster than the first, a few loose, half-melted chips falling free and staining her buttery coat as she devoured it.
As soon as the second muffin began its brief journey into her belly, Fluttershy reached for the glass of orange juice to her left. Carefully guiding the slippery glass to her lips, she tilted it, letting the cool, sharp flavor flood her taste buds. The liquid then found itself traveling down her throat, washing down the second muffin and making room for more food.
Setting the half-filled glass back down on the table, the plump pegasus set her sights on her next target: a tall stack of pancakes.
In the time it had taken her to eat the muffins, the syrup had soaked into the cakes, saturating them in thick, sugary goodness. Fluttershy had planned this, of course, and she took the opportunity to pour on another layer of syrup. To her, and to any other sane pony, there was no such thing as too much maple syrup.
After setting down the now much lighter jug of syrup, Fluttershy slid the plate over and got to work.
Unlike unicorns, who had levitation at their disposal to use utensils, the other two races, pegasi and earth ponies, had to be a bit more creative. In the absence of a fork, Fluttershy instead picked up the first two pancakes with her hooves, folding them in half like a taco. She held the thick, makeshift sandwich up to her mouth, letting the sugary syrup slowly flow onto her tongue.
Fluttershy was probably one of the most patient ponies around, but even she lacked the willpower to continue teasing herself. In only a few bites, she devoured the two cakes and picked up the other two, gobbling them up just as quickly.
While most ponies would be completely stuffed at this point, Fluttershy still had room for plenty more. Being as big as she was, her body needed a fairly large amount of calories each day to maintain itself. With an appetite as fierce as hers, of course, she never failed to hit this number, eating what her ever-growing body needed and then some.
The chair below her meaty flank moaned again as she made quick work of the banana and two pieces of toast, washing them down with another swig of orange juice. The wooden throne below her, though expertly crafted by one of Equestria’s finest artisans, could only support so much weight. And as Fluttershy continued to fill up her belly with more and more food, that threshold came closer and closer to being reached.
It gave forth another moan of pain as Fluttershy swallowed a bite of the peach pie, almost as if to curse its fate of being forced to spend its life under the big, bulky rump of the obese pegasus. Its eternal punishment only seemed to grow worse with each day as her gluttonous habits caused her to consistently pile on more and more weight. Her bulging gut swelled out further with each meal she stuffed between her cheeks. Her thick thighs only seemed to grow bigger and fatter with every bite she sent down her gullet.
Before Fluttershy could bring a napkin up to her face to wipe excess pie filling off her lips, a loud belch escaped from the depths of her tummy. “Excuse me!” she quickly said, more out of habit than necessity.
Meanwhile, below the pudgy pegasus, her chair was still holding on for dear life. If it could think, it would have predicted its end one hundred pounds ago, but yet here it still was, persevering against all odds. Nevertheless, nothing could last forever, and it seemed that Fluttershy’s seat had finally lost the long war of attrition. This was the end of the line. After a long, terrible siege, the wooden fortress had at last surrendered to the vast, fatty army above it.
Snap!
“Wha-” Fluttershy squeaked, dropping the waffle in her mouth as a result. The crispy morsel fell to the ground, only to be flattened by Fluttershy mere seconds later as the legs of the chair below her snapped in two, sending her careening towards the floor.
Panicking, she craned her neck forward, grabbing the table cloth between her teeth in a feeble attempt to save herself. Her efforts were in vain, unfortunately, and she continued to fall backwards, taking the tablecloth and everything on it with her.
The butterball pegasus let out a quiet “Oof!” as her back hit the floor, a series of loud crashes around her causing her to instinctively hide her face under her wings.
Oh dear, oh dear… she thought to herself, cringing harder with every successive crash.
Once the cacophony was over, Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes to survey the destruction before her.
“Oh, my…”
Thankfully, she was unharmed, save for the generous amount of sticky syrup that now occupied her hair. Broken plates, glasses, vases, and, most tragically, ruined food joined her on the floor.
But the worst part of all was the crowd of panicked animals that soon came rushing into the kitchen. Fluttershy felt her heart sink into her chest as the color of her face quickly shifted from yellow to red.
“O-Oh, no, I’m okay! Um, please don’t worry!” She said, beginning the process of lifting herself up from the floor. Thanks to her weight, it was a slightly more involved process. She rocked back and forth a few times to shift her weight forward until she could finally get her forehooves on the ground. From there, she began the arduous process of using her legs to lift herself up.
Despite the fact that her animals were busy cleaning up the mess, Fluttershy still wanted to die from the sheer embarrassment of having to perform the task in front of her friends.
Her hooves shaking relentlessly, she began picking up the shattered pieces of ceramic and carrying them to the trash bin. Though she loved all of her animals and appreciated their diligent help, she secretly wished that they would leave her to be a fat, sticky mess in peace.
She sighed under her breath, using a wing to sweep a the remains of her meal into the trash bin. Well, there's another terrible memory to keep me up at night… she thought to herself.
Once everything was cleaned up, Fluttershy found the courage to thank her animals for their help. Once she was alone again, she turned around to face the mirror across the room. She was a mess. Her fall, as well as the tablecloth’s, had left her covered from head to hoof in powdered sugar, syrup, and crumbs.
“Oh dear,” she mumbled to herself, watching as a glob of syrup dripped out of the fold between her first and second chins. “What a way to ruin a perfectly good morning. I suppose I’ll be needing a shower...”
The light hiss of running water drowned out the sound of Fluttershy’s bathroom scale, moaning in agony as she stood atop it. She shifted around slightly, establishing her footing while the disc below her spun quickly behind the glass. The small, circular piece of cardboard was watched with dread as it spun around, the single second it took to do this seeming to take an eternity.
Then, abruptly, it stopped.
Fluttershy looked down with an all-too-familiar look of disappointment. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she waited for the disc to correct it error and spin backwards. The numbers didn’t lie, however, and as such stayed put.
287.
“Three pounds?!” She shouted, barely containing her urge curl up into a pudgy ball and cry. “I gained three pounds?!”
She looked down with a huff. “It’s...probably just water weight.” She told herself, conveniently forgetting about, among other decadent acts of gluttony, the whole cheesecake she had consumed over the course of the previous day.
Though she would never admit it to herself, due to either denial or a stubborn resistance to change, Fluttershy had a weight problem. Of course, she had always been a bit on the pudgy side, but it was only in recent years that she had ballooned up to her current weight.
She sighed as she watched her reflection fade into a blurry mess as the bathroom mirror began to fog up.
I’m just...so… she thought to herself, a drop of condensed steam rolling down her back, ...so...boring.
Twilight was a princess. Rarity had her shop in Canterlot. Rainbow Dash had just recently joined the Wonderbolts. Applejack and Pinkie were in charge of their own businesses. Her biggest achievement? Eating a whole plate of mint chocolate-chip brownies in under five minutes.
All of her friends led exciting, successful lives. She, on the other hand, was just a boring, reclusive pegasus. Aside from caring for her animal friends, all she ever did nowadays was stay cooped up in her cottage. While all of her friends were out having fun and meeting other ponies, she was sitting by herself, knitting, baking, reading cheesy romance novels, and, of course, stuffing her face all the while. Rarity had recently gotten engaged, meanwhile she had never even so much as kissed a stallion.
She had come out of her shell a little for the first few years after meeting her friends. With an excuse to get out of her cottage and walk around, she had even lost some weight. Back then she was happy and motivated. She could wake up every day and look forward to spending time with her friends.
But recently, those friends had had less and less time to spend with each other. As a result, Fluttershy had returned to her old ways, when her only two friends were her animals and food.
Fluttershy pouted and looked down at the floor. She had let her old habits get the best of her. With no incentive to diet or exercise, one extra slice of pie after dinner turned into two, then three, then four. Pretty soon, the entire pastry ended up in her belly.
While she was able to deny it at first, now, weighing in at a healthy 287 pounds, it was difficult to argue with the fact that her eating habits had taken quite the toll on her figure. But she couldn’t help it. Fluttershy was a lover of everything sweet, and it showed.
Fluttershy gazed at her now completely-blurred reflection in the steam-kissed mirror. Her habit of constantly glancing in the mirror to critique her appearance was suddenly so much more painful than before. She couldn't bring herself to wipe the steam off the glassy surface, dreading the nasty details behind the blurred, buttery blob.
Instead, she simply huffed and stepped into the shower.
“Mmm…” She purred, reveling in the simple ecstasy of hot water on her back to calm her nerves. It was here where she could relax and forget her troubles, however many they may be.
Well, most of them. As one might expect, the extra 200 pounds made washing oneself a much more involved process. Aside from the annoyance of the small space becoming tighter with every passing day, Fluttershy blushed as she felt her many fat rolls yield to the loofa as it glided across her pudgy belly. This only got worse as she moved down to her sides, the dense fat in her love handles even thicker and more pliable.
She rubbed the loofah across skin, letting it sink into her soft, pliable middle. The thick layer of fat that encased her body bounced and jiggled as she washed away the dirt, sweat and grime of the previous day.
How could I have let this happen? she thought, watching as her body jiggled with every little movement. Gone was the petite, slender pegasus she used to be. Instead, she had let herself turn into her true self: a big, fat pig.
Focus on something else, Fluttershy, she scolded herself. Like, um… she closed her eyes as she leaned her head into the stream of water, clearing her mind as she felt the warm water soak into her scalp. ...Like you trip to the market today.
In spite of her troubles, the pudgy pegasus surrendered a smile. Her weekly trips to the market gave her an excuse to go to town and see her friends. Well, some of them. She could always count on seeing Pinkie and Applejack. Twilight too if she wasn’t busy with her royal duties in her castle. Rarity and Dash, unfortunately, could only visit every few weeks.
As she finished washing her hair and moved on to her backside, Fluttershy began taking note of everything she needed to purchase, as well as the fastest route between the various stalls to ensure that she would be able to catch Pinkie or Applejack on their respective lunch breaks.
Though this smile quickly faded as she once again found herself touching her body. She cringed with guilt as she scrubbed between the rolls of her bloated backside, and her face flushed as she felt how huge her butt was.
“I’m so ugly…” she said to herself, washing the suds off the body that she dreaded to even look at. Somehow, even her daily shower had become a chore.

Running the comb through her mane one final time, Fluttershy at last convinced herself that she was presentable enough to be seen by the world. Setting the comb down on her dresser, she turned around and started towards the front door.
“Everyone, I’m going out for a few hours. Be good, okay?” she announced to an audience of her animal friends. “That means you, Angel Bunny.”
Angel rolled his eyes before hopping away.
So cute, she thought, another tiny grin brightening the space between her chubby cheeks.
All set and ready for her trip, Fluttershy strapped on her saddlebags and squeezed through the front door, making a mental note to have it widened. Again.
Fluttershy could feel her spirits lifting the moment she stepped outside. “What a beautiful day.” She said to herself, stopping for a moment to smell the fresh, warm air of the early morning. She inhaled, then exhaled slowly, savoring the soft scent. The misty morning air filled her nostrils, the chilly tang of early spring blending it all together.
“Mmm…” She sighed, her worries leaving her mind. No matter what troubled her, Fluttershy could always find solace in the tranquility of the early morning. And she would need it, too -- it was going to be a long, tiring trek to Ponyville proper. Before starting down the path to her destination, she took one last sniff of the air, savouring its sweet, buttery, aroma.
...Wait, what?
Fluttershy’s head shot up to attention. With the efficiency of a machine, her pupils darted back and forth, obsessively scanning the horizon. A fiery motivation burned in her tummy, the kind of motivation that only a fierce craving can provide.
Almost as if she were in a trance, Fluttershy diligently followed her nose to find the source of the delicious smell. Crossing the small footbridge in front of her cottage, she waddled down the path, her hoofsteps getting faster as the smell became ever stronger.
Her ears perked up as soon as she could hear the sound of a rickety set of wheels making its way down the path adjacent to hers. This path was beyond a short strip of trees, but she didn’t let such a trivial obstacle stop her.
She carefully crossed the wooded barrier, making sure to not mess up her hair. It was then that her brief quest came to an end.
“Howdy.” A low, sturdy voice greeted.
Fluttershy felt an all-too-familiar warmth rush into her thick cheeks. “U-Um…hi.”
Fluttershy reluctantly looked up to see a huge cart filled to the brim with apple pies, pulled by none other than Big Macintosh.
“Um...hi, B-Big Mac…”
It was like an elephant was standing on her chest. She stood there, frozen in place, completely mortified at her actions, which had been akin to a pig running to its trough. She managed to look through her bangs at Big Mac, who stated at her expectantly.
Though the rules of conversation indicated that it was his turn to speak, Big Macintosh said nothing, choosing instead to stifle a cough and kick a loose stone on the ground. He looked down at the mare before him at a total loss for words. This was partly due to his nature, and partly due to his desire to hide his quickly reddening face.
Wow, he thought to himself, nearly dropping the strand of wheat he was chewing on.
Fluttershy got FAT.
The last time he’d run into her, Fluttershy sported a pretty average figure. One could have described her as a little bit chubby, of course, but whatever excess blubber she carried with her was hardly enough to be classified as overweight.
But that was two years ago.
“Howdy, Miss Fluttershy.” he greeted again, quick to turn his face away from the mare. The old wooden wheels of the cart groaned under the weight of their heavy load as the stallion began to move again. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I’m runnin’ a bit late, so I can’t really stop to chat none.”
“Oh…” Fluttershy ducked behind her hair, now littered with loose twigs and leaves. “Um, t-that’s okay. I was just, um...taking a shortcut…” she mumbled, her voice becoming quieter with every word, “...t-to the waterfall…”
Though her mouth tried to lie, her stomach kept her honest, punctuating her words with a loud, bubbly growl.
Fluttershy’s face was almost completely red. "I-I, um…" she stuttered, easing herself into making eye contact with the stallion. “Um...yy-our pies smelled r-really good…so, I, um...”
Big Mac nodded, slowing his pace to look back at Fluttershy. “Eeyup.”
“And I was wondering if I could, um…”
“Nope.” He replied, now shaking his head. “Not right now, at least. I’m runnin’ late as it is.”
“Oh…okay then.” Fluttershy trailed off. “I’m sorry.”
Turning his head away once again, Big Macintosh resumed his steady stroll. The workhorse’s huge, powerful hooves left shallow hoofprints wherever they touched the ground as he made his way into town.
Fluttershy waddled forward a bit to catch up to him. “Well, um...it was good to, um…” she stuttered, wishing she could just bury her head in the sand with every word that passed her quivering lips. “Um… i-it was good to see you, Big Mac.”
However, by the time she had uttered the words, he had already disappeared over the horizon.
She sighed, looking down at the stallion’s hoofprints. Each one was the same as the last, diligently tracing his path from start to finish. With only a short prelude of hesitation, she placed a trembling forehoof over one of the many marks, feeling a warm rush of emotion run up her body as she did so. Her breath became heavy, and a smile crept onto her face as an entire life passed through her mind in only a second.
But nothing, even a fantasy, can last forever, and her thoughts soon took her to a much more gloomy place.
Rarity’s wedding is in a month, the pudgy pony thought to herself, the warm rush of emotion soon replaced by an even hotter wash of shame. And I still need to be fitted for my bridesmaid dress!
Though her thoughts were her only company, the shy little pony found her face turning bright red at the thought.
Oh dear…
She squinted, ducking behind her bangs. The blinding glare of the morning sun served only as a reminder of all she had to do today. Taking a few moments to prepare herself, the porky pegasus began her journey to Ponyville in earnest.
* * *
The soft sound of laboured breaths joined the village ambiance as Fluttershy made her around Ponyville. The small, yet prominent rolls of fat on each of her four hooves jiggled with each step she took, joining her hefty gut as it wobbled back and forth in union.
Common sense would dictate that a pony of Fluttershy’s nature would be mortified by the sheer thought of going about town with a body like hers, yet this was not the case. Sure, she was a little embarrassed, but it wasn't like the town wasn't used to how she looked.
Besides, it wasn’t like she was alone -- plenty of ponies were plus-sized. Fluttershy could count a dozen in Ponyville alone. She was, of course, the biggest of them all by far, but…
She looked down and sighed. Oh...who am I kidding.
The strap of her saddlebag just barely straddled her bloated midsection. It dug into her generous rolls of fat like a mountain road, a solitary path surrounded by steep, rolling hills on either side. Stretched to its absolute limit, it was only a matter of time before Fluttershy’s gluttony claimed yet another victim.
The two bags, adorned lovingly with her cutie mark, were stuffed to capacity with goods -- mainly food. While a few vegetables and leafy greens poked out of the top, they were surrounded by a sea of various sweets - cookies, candies, pastries, and every other guilty pleasure that filled out so much of her figure.
Fluttershy let out another heavy breath as she toddled about the market. Okay, one more stop, she thought between breaths, Then I can head back home.
A familiar voice greeted her as she approached her final destination.
“Howdy.”
Their eyes locked for a split second before Fluttershy found herself ducking behind her bangs.
Oh goodness, she thought, her own heartbeat louder than any of the ambient noise around her.
“H-Hello, Big Mac.” She said, reaching to remove her purse from her saddlebag. Taking out six coins, she held them in her mouth for the shopkeeper. “Um...I would like two apple pies, if you don’t mind.”
“Eeyup”. He predictably replied, ducking his head into the cart while his customer placed the money into its coin built-in compartment. He soon after emerged, two pies balanced precariously on his muzzle.
He looked at his customer and paused for a moment. “Ma'am, where should I…”
“Oh. Um…” she said, putting a hoof to her lips for a moment while she pondered the predicament. She turned to look at the saddlebags on either side of her, filled to the absolute brim with groceries. The stitches already struggled against the contents, and any attempt to add anything else would prove an impossible task. “You can just, um…”
“Oh, dear.”
Big Mac’s head shifted back and forth slightly, still balancing the pies on his muzzle. “Hmm.”
After many awkward seconds of silence between the two, Fluttershy sighed, sticking her head into the cart’s coin compartment to retrieve her six bits. “I-It’s okay. Nevermind. It’s bad for me anyway…”
Still balancing the pies on his muzzle, Big Macintosh stepped to the side, giving himself a brief glimpse of Fluttershy’s plump rear-end as she bent over.
“Well, um, I could, uh…” He began quickly averting his gaze as the mare looked up at him.
“I mean, I’m just about t’close up shop anyway. I could carry ‘em for you, If you don’t mind…”
Fluttershy’s chubby cheeks lifted to reveal a bright smile. “R-really? You’d do that for me?”
Big Mac nervously looked away from the mare as he closed the lid of the cart and slipped into its harness. “Heh… ‘course, ma’am. It’s on the way after all…”
“Oh, that would be such a big help! Thank you so much, Big Mac!” she cheered, the rolls of fat on her midsection jiggling as the mare hopped in excitement. Or, at least, attempted to. It was the effort that counted.
Big Mac's face quickly turned a much brighter shade of red as he walked behind the overfed shut-in, watching her huge rump wobble with each step she took.
"E-Eeyup..."
