CMCB #1: Shining Spoon It was a beautiful spring day in Ponyville, and all of the Fillies and colts were finding their seats at the schoolhouse. Soon they were all sat down in their seats, and just chatting, with the exception of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon picking on the Cutie Mark Crusaders about their blank flanks (as per usual) “Ok, Class, settle down.” Miss Cheerilee said as she walked in the door to start the day. She was a magenta pony, with a light pink and white mane. Her cutie mark was three smiling sunflowers. “Now, we have a new student today. Go on, introduce yourself” she said smiling to the colt behind her. “Um, hi. My name is Shining Spoon.” The new pony almost whispered to the class. It seemed that he was almost as shy as Fluttershy. Shining Spoon was an orange earth pony colt, with Green eyes, and a parted red and blue mane. The class noticed immediately he hadn’t had a cutie mark yet. “Well, it seems we have another blank flank in our midst!” Sneered Diamond Tiara. “By now it’s a common thing.” Silver Spoon chimed in. "That’s enough out of you two fillies!" Miss Cheerilee interrupted, in a very annoyed tone of voice. Then in her usual, sweet tone, Miss Cheerilee said to the new colt “You can sit right there in the front between Applebloom and Scootaloo.” Shining was very nervous. “um, o-okay.” he stuttered as he sat down in his seat. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX At recess, Shining Spoon was hanging out near the door, as he didn't have any friends yet to play with. A few minutes in recess, the two bullies from the morning came up to him. "Well, well, well! if it isn't the new blank flank of the school!" Diamond Tiara mocked. "You think he's going to stand up for himself?" Silver Spoon asked. "Of course not! He isn't special enough to stand up for himself!" Diamond Laughed. Tears started to form in Shining's eyes. 'Oh Look! The little Foal's crying! We have the last name, but we are NOWHERE near related!" Silver Spoon added. "Hey! Leave Him Alone!" A voice from behind them said. It was Applebloom, the filly Shining was sitting next to in class. ""Oh yeah? Or what?" Diamond Tiara Shot back. "Or... or... we'll..." The White Unicorn, Sweetie Belle Stuttered. "We'll tell miss Cheerilee on you!" Scootaloo, the other filly Shining sat next to called out. "Ugh! Fine! We'll go!" Silver said, as she and Diamond Tiara turned around and left shining and the CMC. "We've done enough damage for one day anyways." "T-thank you!" Shining said, trying to stop crying. "No problem! Shining Spoon was it?" "Y-yeah..." Shining replied. "Why?" “Howdy! I’m Applebloom, this is Scootaloo, and that there is Sweetie Belle. We couldn’t help but notice that you don’t have a cutie mark yet!” “Yeah, That's what that entire thing just now was about!” Shining Exclaimed. “Well, you see, we don’t either!” Sweetie Belle responded. Just as Sweetie Belle Said that, the three showed him their blank flanks that looked just like his. “And, you see," Scootaloo Said, "We want you to join our club!" "What's the club?" Shining asked. "Well, we basically come up with ideas on how to find our cutie marks!" Sweetie Belle explained. "Hmmmm... okay, I guess. So what's the group's name?" Shining asked nonchalantly. "Well, we call ourselves..." Apple Bloom started. Then, the three said in unison, very excitedly, "The Cutie Mark Crusaders!" "Alright then! I'll join!" Shining Exclaimed. "Great! Just meet us after school tomorrow and we can go to sweet apple acres, and our clubhouse is there!" Apple Bloom Replied. "Sounds good!" Shining replied. "See you then!" XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX A Few Hours Later...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX "Hey Fluttershy!" Shining said as he walked into the cottage. He was currently living with fluttershy, his cousin. "Oh, hello Shining. please be quiet when you first come home. It scares the animals." Fluttershy said in response. "So how was your first day at school?" "Oops, sorry. And it was good. I made a few new friends!" Shining Responded excitedly. "Oh! That's great! What are their names?" Fluttershy inquired. "Their names are Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. Also, I was wondering if I could go with them after school tomorrow?" Shining Replied. "Oh! I know them! Sure, you can go tomorrow." Fluttershy said. "Thanks Fluttershy!" Shining Said back. Scootaloo yelled at Shining's window. "I'm coming, I'm coming! Don't get your mane in a bunch!" Shining said before running out the door. "Hi Fluttershy, See you at the party!" Fluttershy was Shining's cousin who he was living with. "So, anypony know who is moving into ponyville?" Scootaloo asked. " I do!" Shining Exclaimed. "How?" "Because, they're moving in right next to me! they have a unicorn colt and he is around our age!" "Hey, Just like me!" Sweetie belle exclaimed. "I hope he likes singing!" "And With all of that, he's a blank flank!" And with that, they galloped over to Twilight's castle, 'Welcome to Ponyville' gifts in tow. A few Minutes into the Party... "Hi, I'm Shining Spoon, this is Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. We Couldn't help but notice that you don't have your cutie mark either!" " Hi! I'm Bright Star." Said the unicorn colt. Bright Star was white, with blue eyes, a green mane, with a blue streak in it. "And, no, I don't have my cutie mark yet, Why would you notice that?" "Because we don't either! We want you to join the Cutie Mark Crusaders and be part of our adventures to find our cutie marks! Just meet us at my house with your decision!" "Ok, you Live Next door, right? Sounds great!" Bright Star replied, cheerily. "Ohh, cake time! See you later!. The Next Day... "Hi, is Shining Spoon home? we met at the party." Bright Star asked the next morning. "Oh, yes. he is with his other friends in his room. go on upstairs." Fluttershy replied. "Thanks." Bright Star said as he went up the stairs to Shining's room. "Oh, hi Bright Star!" Sweetie Belle said. "Hi Sweetie Belle, Hi Everyone. I've Decided about Whether i want to become a CMC or not!" "and..." The four said in unison. "Yes" was all that could come out of his mouth before all five of them we're in a big group hug and yelling 'Yay!' "Ok! Meet us at Sweet Apple Acres tomorrow after School!" ""oh Look Silver Spoon! another Blank Flank in our class!" Diamond Tiara sneered. "Again? Wow! Ponies need to learn talents! oh wait, this one probably doesn't have any talent!! Just like the other four!" Silver Spoon Said, just loud enough for Bright Star to Hear. At this, Bright Star Went up to the duo's desks."And Just what is your problem with blank flanks, little miss perfect?" "uh, well, uh..." Diamond Tiara Stuttered. "and Little Miss assistant? You only stay with her to be considered cool." at this, the two were stunned. "Wow, Bright Star! nopony ever stands up to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon! good job!" Sweetie Belle Said. "Thanks!" Bright Star replied. "It was Nothing." "Hey, there's a school talent show later this week! wanna sing together?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Sure! I love Singing!" Author's Note Ooooooooohhhhh!!! Sweetie Belle Exclaimed. "I vote for me and Sweetie to sing together!" Bright Star Said, almost too excitedly, making them both blush slightly. "Well, I have an Idea for the rest of us!" Scootaloo Said. and with that, they were off with coming up with ideas. The Talent Show "Coming up Next, Bright Star and`Sweetie Belle Singing 'Happy' by Ponirell Willineigh!" Ms. Cheerilee called out to the croud. "You Ready?" Bright Star Asked "You know it!" Sweetie Belle Replied As they took center stage, the two started singing. "It Might Be Crazy What I'm about to say," Sweetie Belle sang. "Sunshine She's here, you can take a brake" Bright Star added musically. "Because i'm happy, Clap along if you Feel Like that's what you wanna do." Bright Star sang. "Hey, Come on!" the duo sang. For a moment, there was silence. Clop. Clop. Thunderous applause occurred. "Everypony loves us!" Bright Star exclaimed. "I know!" Sweetie Belle Replied. "Next up, the Cutie Mark Crusaders making... a pie?" Ms. Cheerilee said. "Enjoy!" "Hi, I'm Shining Spoon, this is Scootaloo, And that's Apple Bloom! And We'll be making a pie in 3 minutes!" bake it And at that, the threesome got started. "Using my wing speed, I can make heat to bake the pie!" Scootaloo Explained. "And I got a bag of apples right here For the Pie! "I made the crust already, so all i need to do is make the filling right here and now!" OOH! AAH! "Done! The filling is complete!" Shining exclaimed. "Now to bake the pie!" Scootaloo said. and with that, Scootaloo was off! She was beating her wings faster than she ever had before! and the pie was done in under one minute! "Ta-Da!' the three yelled. Everyone was applauding as hard as they could. "Well, no doubt that we have three finalists, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, Bright Star and Sweetie Belle, and Shining Spoon, Scootaloo, and Apple Bloom!" Ms. Cheerilee Said. "And the Winner is... Bright Star and Sweetie Belle singing 'Happy'!" "What?! This is and Outrage! I demand a recount!" Diamond Tiara Shouted, to no avail. "Oh, No! The Princess Didn't get what she wanted? too Bad!" Bright Star Mocked. "It's Called Karma. You Should Learn How it works." "uh, uh..." Was all that could come out of either of their mouths. "Great Job, Y'all. I really thought we were a'shooin to win with our pie!" Applebloom Complimented. "Thanks!" Sweetie Belle replied. WHOOSH. a streak of blue flew by. "What in the Hay was that?" Shining Asked.
