The Son

As Thunder opened the door, rain had already started dripping from him. He was shaking but hadn't really cared about how cold he was. A small little green colt ran up to him.

"Hi Daddy!" He exclaimed with a smile, jumping into Thunder's arms.

Thunder almost forgot his son's name at that quick moment. He was too busy thinking about what happened with Tia. He looked down at him as he sat on the couch.

"Hey Guardian. Sorry I'm back so late, I had to deal with- S-Something..."

"What was it?" Guardian asked, curiosity in his eyes.

Thunder's heart stopped. He had to think of an excuse but what would it be. I small "ding" went off in his head a few seconds later.

"I-I had to deal with some ponies who were messing with me. They were trying to steal my stuff." Thunder lied to Guardian, trying to sound honest.

Guardian raised an eyebrow and looked at this father's bruises.

"Is that why you have all those things on your body?" He asked, cocking his head to the left.

Thunder realized in an instant that he was talking about his bruises.

"Yes. These are my bruises from the... Uh... Battle between them and I." He said, finishing off the lie.

"Alright!" Guardian chirped trotting away into the house.

Thunder looked down at his feet, thinking about nothing except Tia. He felt like it was all his fault. It was his fault for why she left him. Guilt filled his mind and his heart as he sat there. He switched his mind to something else. Memories. Memories of their first meeting. Their dates. Their wedding. All of it had faded away from his brain. He looked down again as his wedding ring. It was nothing to him now. He got up and opened the front door. He pulled his hoof back and threw it forward, sending the ring flying into the dark rain.

"YOU MEAN NOTHING TO ME!" He yelled out to the world as he lost sight of the ring in the dark.

He slammed the door shut and stomped upstairs, ignoring everything around him. He neighbors yelling at him, Guardian asking if he was okay, and everything else. The only thing that he was focused on was the anger and depression. He walked into his room and threw himself onto his soft bed. He looked up at the ceiling, going into deep thought. He thought about nothing but Tia, guilt, memories, and pain. He looked over to the floor, seeing tons of junk. The main thing he focused on was a long stretch of rope. It was originally used for Tug Of War with Guardian and Tia. Now, it would serve another purpose. A better purpose. He had to deal with something first. He walked downstairs and found Guardian in his room.

"G-Guardian." Thunder said while he felt like he was gonna be sick.

"Yeah Daddy?" Guardian replied, looking cute as ever.

"I-I'm going to take you to Mommy's" He said, getting ready to cry.

"Why?" Guardian asked curiously.

"Because I think it's better if you live with her. You'll be safer there." Thunder finished off.

"Alright Daddy. You know best" Guardian said.

It would be painful to go back to Tia's house. Very painful. But it had to be done...
