It's a few days before Night-Mare Night.Soon the small town of ponyville is to be shaken to its very core. A murder and a suspected suicide by the resident Dj. How will this small town fare against it's first serial killer?

Chapter 1 ~Arianna NightShade

Arianna NightShade

It was a cool autumn night, leaves rustle in the wind. A charcoal grey Pegasus mare sits atop a hill over looking
the small town. This mare is Arianna NightShade. Grinning to her self, as she picks up a nearby stone and proceeds to
throw it in the general Direction of the town. Thinking to herself "This will be one Night-Mare Night they will never
forget" Arianna begins to chuckle softly to herself. Cantering down towards the main road she comes across a few scattered
guards, not noticing her she proceeds to the nearest house. Climbing through an open window Arianna is now in the kitchen of SugarCube Corner.

Carefully so as not to make a sound, Arianna unsheathes the butcher knife from the block. She inspects the blade
intently, rolling it over in the light of the night. She places it silently on the counter, rummaging through her saddle bag Arianna pulls out a cloth and a can of chloroform. Sliding the knife into the saddle bag, she then proceeds to pick up the can and cloth. Ding ding ding...the clock tolls midnight. Silently Arianna makes her way to the Cakes master bedroom. Creak...opening the door she slips in. Quickly in a matter of moments Arianna had dowsed the cloth, drugged Mr.Cake, bound and gagged Mrs.Cake.

Mrs. Cake awakes startled to find herself raised above the bed,she attempts to call the Guard. Silently in the darkest corner of the room Arianna steps out..."Tsk Tsk..TSK.You Should know better Mrs Cake."Arianna says in cool unfeeling voice. Mrs. Cake's eyes widen in fear.

Arianna let's out a soft whistle. She proceeds to whistle the tune 'London Bridge', pulling the the well sharpened
butcher knife from her saddle bag, slowly so as to see Mrs. Cakes face in reaction as she realized that she was about
to die. Mrs.Cake proceeds to struggle however the binds keep her absolutely still, eating into her flesh as she moves,
becoming tighter with every movement.

"I love it when they struggle go ahead and try to free yourself." Arianna said with glee. Moving slowly towards her
taking one step at a time, deliberately she moves sensually as she approaches Mrs Cake. Holding the Butcher's knife by the blade now Arianna prods Mrs. Cake's mare hood with the handle slowly. Mrs. Cake jolts upward.

Sighing Arianna, comments "Well I have no time to toy with you any longer."Slinking around behind Mrs.Cake Arianna
lightly brushes the knife-blade along Mrs.Cake's body, from her right hind leg up slowly, coming to her neck Arianna whispers;
"Goodnight Mrs Cake." Slicing her throat in a calculated and swift manner, Mrs. Cake proceeds to bleed out.
With that Arianna leaves, making sure nothing of hers was left there not even a single feather.

Slinking out of SugarCube Corner unnoticed Arianna, moved in the shadows to her next target for the night. Sticking to the shadows Arianna soon came across Vinyl Scratch. Slowly she approached, Vinyl turned suddenly looking in the direction of Arianna. Not seeing anyone the white unicorn continued onward towards her home. Ever so cautiously Arianna took to the air, landing upon the roof of the town hall. Watching Vinyl intently she gauges the distance between her and the best spot to intercept the unicorn. Vinyl makes a left down the next road, the moon slowly being enveloped behind the clouds. Vinyl reaches her destination.

Octavia sits in the den overlooking a piece of sheet music quietly,"Oh hello Vinyl dear. Your dessert is in the fridge.
Come to bed once you finish. "With that Octavia gets up from the stool on which she was perched and proceeded to the bedroom.
Heading down the hall Vinyl proceeds to the bathroom to take her shower.

Arianna notices this and thinking to herself "Now would be a wonderful time to try my new candied Cyanide." Carefully she pulls open the kitchen window. Sliding in through she nearly knocks over a glass, reacting with lightning speed Arianna catches the glass. Sighing quietly she places the glass carefully back in its original place. Opening the refrigerator cautiously, Arianna notices the labeled cake which reads;"Vinyl, I know how much you enjoy a quick snack before bed;so I bought you your favorite!"

Pulling out a bottle of what seemed to be simple cake decorations from her saddle bag Arianna carefully opens it. Pulling out a single candy she places it delicately atop the cake. Slipping out of the house so as to be much more inconspicuous, Arianna leaves.

Watching the kitchen window expectantly Arianna is soon rewarded with the sight of Vinyl entering the kitchen in some rather choice lingerie. Opening the fridge, in swift movement Vinyl had pulled the cake out, glanced over the card and pulled out a fork. Excitedly she tentatively pokes the cake like a young filly playing with her food. Just as Arianna was about to let out a sigh of annoyance,Vinyl bit into the cake decoration and all. Within a few seconds Vinyl started to choke. Staggering to stay on her feet Vinyl knocks over every standing thing in the kitchen with a loud crash.

Rushing out of the bedroom a scantily clad Octavia appears screaming "Oh my sweet Celestia,Vinyl are you all right!?"
A guard on patrol nearby hears the commotion.Rushing around the corner. He comes upon the Melody/Scratch residence.
Octavia scared for Vinyl opens the door with a thud and a look of pure terror upon her features.

"Guards Guards! Oh my god. Somebody HELP!"

"Whats the matter madam?"

"Its Vinyl, my poor Vinyl she's not moving" Octavia whimpers.

As the guard listens to her explanation, he calls for backup. The guards try in vain to calm Octavia. Looking on Arianna grins maniacally letting out a soft laugh, her voice soon reaches a level in which the entire neighborhood hears. Mwwha hah hahahhah ha ha ha ha!"Reverberates throughout the neighborhood. Taking off, while laughing she creates a spectacle to behold. Rising menacingly Arianna is silhouetted against the pale moon all the while laughing. A single guard visibly shakes at this sight. Believing a new Nightmare Moon has appeared.

~Chapter2~The Sunrises upon a dark day indeed~

A new day dawned upon the small town of Ponyville. Guards systematically placed warning all over the town. "Please stay calm and be on the lookout for suspicious characters, if you spot a suspscious character please report to your neighborhood watch leader." A single guard was busily telling all passersby. A small breeze caused the leaves to rustle in the wind. A grey pegasus. Day Guard captain Chuck A. Namone was consulting with a dark blue Batpony this was the Captain of the Night Guard
Romulus. As the pair approached Princess Twilight Sparkle's castle the door swung wide revealing the violet alicorn.

Staring at the two, Twilight pondered the possible reasons as to why both town guard captains were standing outside of her
door. Speaking first Captain Namone spoke in gravely of the situation "Princess Sparkle I am afraid, that we have been placed in a most precarious position; It has come to the attention of the guard that there has been two deaths in the span of a single Night." Tactfully a eerily Romulus adds "All that is known for a fact is that Mrs Cake of SugarCube Corner has been killed by a persons; unknown. There is on the other hand DJ Vynyl Scratch; she was killed last night while partaking in her usual before bed snack when as miss Melody puts is 'Was choking heavily and keeled over.'"

Twilight looks the guards inspecting them intently, as to see if this was some kind of pre-NightMare Night hi-jinks. The
guards stare back intensely not blinking. Realizing that the guards were serious she then carefully pondered what the guards had said.Princess Twilight, if I may I suggest that we immediately lock down all exits and put a curfew into effect?"Captain Namone suggested. Thinking intently of situation Twilight, answered "No, that would provoke the situation into a much more precarious situation than what we're already dealing with.

Very well, Princess Twilight. Than may I suggest we head over to SugarCube Corner?"Captain Romulus, begrudgingly suggested.
The three cantered to SugarCube Corner. The guard on scene Makiko led the way Cake's Bedroom, Passing Mr Cake and Pinkie on the way. Undisturbed by the emotional instability in which was on disply By Mr Cake the Trio made their way up stairs. Coming across the guard stationed outside the scene Captain Romulus Growled at the Guard, the young Stallion quikcly made way for the trio. Upon entering the master bedroom the group was assaulted with the stench of blood upon their nostrils.

Gagging, Twilight coughs violently in an attempt to stabilize herself. Overwhelming the mare the stench nearly knocked the mare back onto her haunches. Romulus carefully catalogs the state of the room in a preliminary report as Captain Namone, guides the princess through a walk about of the crime scene.In the middle of the walk about suddenly the cries of Foals shattered the silence that had settled over the scene. Shouting one the guards yells"Will some-pony take care of those two!"

As the inspection continues uninterrupted, the group heads to Octavia's. Arriving at the scene the trio passes a still
distraught Octavia violently shaking in nigh uncontrollable shock. Going over the scene, the captains' take note of the position
of all, objects on the scene. Captain Namone tells the guard on duty to take Octavia to the hospital for some R&R. Turning their
attention back to Twilight the Captains' inform her; "We find that, during the preliminary investigation until further information may be ascertained that this was more than with out a doubt executed by a professional."

Twilight was then escorted back to her castle by this time dusk had fallen.

The night shifts into full swing, Filthy Rich throws the annual Nightmare Nights masquerade ball. A cool breeze blows over the party attendees. Looking up Filthy sees an ominous figure silhouetted against the back drop of a full moon. Declaring over the din of the party-goers Arianna proclaims; The Festivities have just Begun! In the following days the bodies will stack at least half a story High!" Laughing maniacally as she finishes she swoops in and steals Diamond Tiara from the Dance Floor. Screaming in terror Tiara yells for help;SOMEPONY HELP ME!" Whispering into the filly's ear Arianna says "You won't see the light of day again."

The Party is now in full panic as Filthy yells for the guards. Hearing the outcries of the distraught party guests the Bat-ponies on patrol nearby arrive in time to see Arianna take off with Diamond. Springing immediatley into action the guards intercept Arianna, Grabbing Diamond by her rear haunches the first guard pulls on Arianna's mane in a fit of rage she bucks the bat ponies as hard as she can , Causing one to bleed from his eyes. Making her escape Arianna heads for the nearby mountains. Forced to stay behind to ensure his partner is alright Night Guardsman Mikau glares after the escaping Pegasus mare. Making her way to the base in which she had set up; Arianna drags a quietly weeping Diamond Tiara to the cellar, tossing her into a make-shift cage Arianna scowls and yells "Shut your mother fucking mouth Tiara!" Straightening up at the force in which the sentence had been delivered Diamond was frightened by the seemingly strange stranger for having known her name.

Muttering to herself Arianna ponders what she should do with the young filly. Noting the pure terror and fright upon Tiara's fetures gave Arianna a sense of pure ecstasy, but it was not enough. Now what should I do with you Tiara? Should I cook you alive? NO.That's to good for the little bitch that you are....No I think I'll...." Trailing off Arianna takes to her new thought with glee. Prancing over to the worktable directly across from Tiara's cage, she begins picking chemicals off the shelf. Buring herself into this new task Arianna Does not notice the Group of Mares Hiking past the Cottage. Taking notice of the sound of soft sobs, the leader of the group a small Buttercream Pegasus called out Soflty "H-hello? A-anyone there? A-are you alright?" Beginning to respond to Flutter Shy's inquiries Diamond was gagged and bound by Arianna before she had the chance. Calling up to Flutter Shy, "I'm fine, just got something in my eye for a moment." Accepting the explanation from Arianna with out a secong thought Flutter Shy responds; "O-oh okay then.I hope you feel better." With That She saunters off.

As the hiking groups hoofsteps fade in the distance, Arianna glares at Diamond with intense malice in her eyes. "If you expect to suvive the night I suggest you listen. Now I want you to shut the fuck up and sleep, If not you will feel the wrath of the true bringer of chaos first hand." Holding a bottle of sulfuric acid close to the filly's face she gestures.Diamond sobs softly and wallows in defeat as she begins to softly cry herself to sleep.

Arianna returns to her work upon the table intently mixing precise measurements of hitherto mostly unknown chemicals. Preoccupied with her work soon night turns to day. Yawning Arianna takes a break, locking down the cellar before heading to the cabins master bedroom inspecting the locks upon the door to the cage, inspecting the magic seal, and window bars she leaves and falls fast asleep.

Late in the night Princess Twilight Sparkle holds a meeting, with Applejack, Rarity and RainbowDash. "Is everypony here?" an anxsious Twilight asks the group of gathered ponies. Yeah, I guess so.Sooo what's the big problem now twilight?" Rainbow responds.

"And for that matter where is Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy?" Applejack chimes in.Preparing to respond Twilight is interupted by knock on the door.Sighing the princess tasks Spike the Dragon to take care of the visitor. Entering the hall Spike mutters under his breath. Faking a smile so large spike swings the door open and says;"Princess Twilight's residence may I help you?". Not receiving an answer he opens his eyes to see no one, looking around Spike notices a sealed note on the doorstep. Heading back inside into the meeting Spike is greeted with; "So who was it and what did they want?"

Not very happy at having to leave the room for a no-show visitor on the other side, Spike Responds with a note of distaste in his voice "No one, Just this note." as he finishes he hands over the note to Twilight. Taking the note from Spike Twilight turns the note over, noticing the seal she lets out a sigh of Relief. Looking on at her friened Apple Jack asks;"So uh who's it from Twi?" Looking on, Rainbow looks back between Apple Jack and Twilight in fit she says rather quite loudly;"Is there something I am missing here?"

At the mere mention of Ranbow missing a point caused a stiffled chuckle from Rarity.

"Not at all Darling"

"Quiet th' both of ya."

Not sure what it was about Twilight decides to finish the meeting. Informing her friends of the recent attacks and not suscpects, this prompts an irrational but true to her personality response from Rainbow "What I would give to go one on one with the monster." Just outside the Halls window sat an ominous Raven.Soon the Meeting ended, The Raven takes to the sky. Arriving at the cabin in the woods near Ranbow Falls. Arianna is awakened by the Raven; "Ah yes what is it RivenClaw?" In a puff of smoke RivenCLaw transforms into a Beautiful Pearl Black unicorn. Walking nearer to the window, she responds "It seems we have a little problem..That Princess is begining to interfere."

"Will we have to push the agenda up?"

"No I think not, Finish the spell with Tiara.Then we will see what miss Sparkle has in mind."

"Very well then Riven." Grabing the last of the ingredients for the mind-Swap spell Arianna heads into the cellar, the door closing whith a bang. Pondering to herself Riven thinks of the primary goal of the two's mission. Suddenly the silence of the cabin is broken by the shrieks of Tiara in exsaperating pain. Riven Grins.

Ha ha ha ha ha! This lovely little Filly will be the last of this town to ever see me!" Arianna mutters to her self, picking up a bottle marked with a skull and soul-bound enchatments. Drawing closer to Tiara with minimal Effort she poors the elixor across her mare hood drawing intricate designs all-the-while reciting an incantaion in an ancient tongue. As the ritual draws to a close both soon are unconscious. Riven enters the room; "Wake up you two." She coos softly to Arianna and Diamond.

Both ponies yawn wide, Drawing in a big deep breath Arianna asks Riven "D-Did it work?"

"Yes, my dear it has." Riven replies holiding a mirror to Arianna, however the reflection was not that of her own but that in which was Diamond's. Gleefully Arianna takes to the new body she has aquired, Grinning and proding as well modeling herself in the mirror she begins to take her sweet time. Riven looks on with a rather quite amused smile, chuckling soflty to herself. Now dear, you know what you have to do.Correct?" Riven asks Arianna. Resoponding in kind;"Yes, I do my love."
With that the two begin to concoct the story of Arianna now as Diamond Tiara's escape.

Riven instructs Arianna to take the lives of the few important citizens in the desolate hell hole that is Ponyville. Waliking out of the cabin Arianna limps toward town. Coming across the some local hikers she calls out weakly; "H-help me. Somepony help me please." nearly fainting Arianna causes a scene tumbling down the hill out of control. Realising the ruckus that was caused by the fainitng pony one of the hikers calls "O-oh dear is that Diamond. OH-My Sweet Celestia its her.."

Rushing to her side the hikers gather around questioning the leader of the condition of the pony. Hushing the group Fluttershy carefully and swiftly issues orders, to make a sling and cancelling the rest of the trip. Arriving at Ponyville Clinic the group rushes into the emergency room, calling for a nurse. A single orderly on duty rushes up and fires a million standard questions in five seconds flat. Moaning Diamond is now in extreme pain. A doctor rushes into the lobby and informs the group that Diamond is to be taken into intensive care.
