I packed my lunch and my flashlight in my bag and waited for my friends to arrive. We were going camping, as usual. Actually its nothing special: It's just a walk through the forest during the night. We always hoped we'd see something special, out of the ordinary, but our destination was the Canterlot National forest, from what I research on the school website its said to be haunted by a legend know as Slendermane of course that was just bullshit so I wasn't gone let that stop me from hanging out with my buddies!
About an hour later the boys arrive ,it was Soarin the mascot of our Wondercolts, Flash Sentry! Guitar player and Twilights lover! and my Cousin Big Mac.
Big Mac had a camera hand. He'd always been a fan of paranormal things and still had the hope he'd see a ghost or anything like that for that matter. We left the house ,headed to my pickup truck and took off.
My Cousin was, as usual extremely excited, and he gave you the impression he could explode of happiness every second. He began recording our surroundings and ourselves when we where traveling on the road beside the Geographic environment surrounding us. I stopped telling him to ask me stupid questions a while ago; He'd always continued the next time we went Ghost hunting.
We parked the car right next to the sigh that said keep out and walked into it despite its obvious warning!
We walked a few miles before needing a rest. Big mac stopped recording as soon as we sat at the edge of the lake to admire the beauty of the full moon reflected on the water. I sat down on a nearby log with Soarin and Flash, I pulled out a well deserved Lunch two grilled cheese sandwiches and gave one to each of my friends. They accepted it gratefully and began taking little bites "Ive got the feeling something's going to happen tonight."Big Mac says so quietly its more like a whisper, but i can still hear that spark of excitement in his voice.
"You always do. " I joke, nudging him.
"Thats true. But this time, it's different." He whispers so softly it looks like hes scared some else would hear it.
"Are you okay?" I ask. "Why are you whispering while we're out here, alone? Are you scared of that old rumor?
Hmm? " I raised my eyebrows, but i keep my short smile plastered on my face.
"You darn right partner? Slendermane might come for us!" He explained .
This angered Flash.
"THERES SUCH THING AS SLENDERMANE! " He shouted so loud it made the birds fly away from the trees in the forest.
He started puffing slowly with a angered expression right on his face, me and other just stood still to slowly let him catch his breate, Although Big Mac just seemed Confused and at the same time angry. He just turned away and relook at the lake.
Flash sat back down. Soarin placed his hand at his shoulder and ask" Flash you don't believe in Ghost?
Is he serious
Flash thought in his head
"Well?" He ask again, impatiently.
"Where waiting!" I Said standing up off the my log but Flash just remained silent.
Then an interruption came from Big mac.
"Oh Dam it the cameras dead!" It just suddenly stopped recording, and now there's a slight static all over the screen. I guess I'll have to turn it off."
What BM just told me wouldnt be anything special if it wasnt because it looked like the temperature suddenly dropped a few degrees in the last few seconds. BM seems to notice it, too. His face shows an emotion i dont recognize.
"Great what we needed. Anything else that can go wrong?" Then suddenly everything went wrong. It started raining and our camp fire got put out.
Flash's angered expression then came back to his face!
"AWWW F****K
Rain became harder and harder by each passing second as me my friends left our camping post to find shelter.
"Do you think we should go back? OR..." I stop mid-sentence, because my flashlight began actin weird, too. "What the..."MY batteries died and we were left in total darkness.
"Braebuen" Big Mac calls me. I don't react. "Braebuen! He nudges me, and I turn around. His eyes are darting around the forest, like he's expecting something could jump on us any second. I think we both agree that, whatever's happening, it's not normal. "I think we should indeed go back."
I nod and BM begins running in a direction we both don't know. I want to tell him out houses are the other way, but he's too far already. I cant leave him here. I have to go after him maybe the other will catch up with us.
I catch up with him after a few minutes of screaming for him to come back. Even now, when I'm running at his side, trying to avoid the trees and other obstacles, he acts like he doesn't know I'm next to him. What has gotten into him? I grab his arm to call his attention and stop running. He resists, but soon gives up and stares me in the eyes. "What are you doing?" I say, while panting. You know the truck is the other way." His skin looks pale and it takes him a while to respond. And when he does, it's just a simple nod Its hard to distinguish it, when we only have the moonlight to see each other. "Can we head back now?" This time he gives no reaction at all, so I drag him along with through the forest.
"Before we go we have to find the others, Understand?
He nods slowly.
"I...I saw something ." He mumbles when where almost at our destroyed campsite. This catches my attention and I turn to him.
"What did you see? I asked him.
"I don't know but.... but it was whiter think it might have been Slendermane.
My eyes rolled to the back of my head.
"Whatever". I responded
Soon we approach the campsite only to find no one was there, then I felt I drop of liquid falled on my hair it wasn't rain, I looked up to witness a horrifying site.
There hanging on the tree by a branch through his chest was Flash, He was stripped completely naked except his Tennis shoes and torned pants, he was covered in scratches, bruises and bitemarks, His stomach was torn cleaned opened with his intestines hanging dangling out covered in maggots eating it away. The disemboweled corpse right eye was missing, and half of both of his lower legs were ripped clean off exposing his bone fragments and of course there was blood everywhere from head to toe.
We both vomited at sight.
"Ruuuuuuunnnnnnnn".
