Long story short, Luna and Celestia leave to get rid of a great evil and never return. Twilight sparkle takes both thrones and finds a book with 3 pages and the third is ripped out she reunites the gang and the cast both spells. Little did they know.
In Equestria on the Summer Sun Celebration, Celestia and Luna had to leave to fight some "great evil" that was entering equestria. They never returned. 30 years after they left Twilight Sparkle took both thrones and ruled all of Equestria. 5 minutes after she sat down in the throne she wondered "what is in this box on the side of this throne?" She opened it and found a book filled with only 3 pages, the 3rd ripped out of the book. She realized she could do these spells IF she reunited the mane 6. She had Spike deliver the letters to them. Little did they know this was going to end in disaster.
