Human generosity

It was night time and I had the sudden need to walk. I went down stairs to warn my parents that I was going for a walk.

“So are you finished fapping to your ponies?” My dad laughed.

I am a Brony and it’s been just a couple weeks that I decided to tell all my friends and parents, not caring what they said. Surprisingly most of my friends accepted this reality. My dad had a hard time to believe that his 18 year old son liked a show about magical little ponies. And he insulted me until I got annoyed enough to stop watching the show. I always replied with a simple phrase that stops him every time.

“Haters gonna hate, dad.” I said.

He sighed before saying a terrible phrase that no child should hear their father say to them.

“I regret creating you.” he said angrily.

Those words stabbed my heart deeply. I looked at him with disgust of what he just said.

“Your dad didn’t mean that!” My mom rushed an apology.

But I didn’t believe that. The look on his face said the truth. I knew that the truth hurts, but I didn’t expect it to hurt this bad.

I grabbed my shoes, a sweater and went outside. Tears were falling on my cheeks. My heart was in so much pain. I walked and walked until the pain disappeared. I even forgot why I was walking in the first place.

I suddenly saw a strange silhouette pass in front. The silhouette ran into a small alley. I followed the silhouette to see what it was, when I entered the alley I didn’t see anything; I was alone.

I decided to sit down, my back against a brick wall and stared at the black sky.

When I looked back down I saw strands of bright pink hair escaping a cardboard box. I got up and walked to the box by pure curiosity. I looked in the box and I couldn’t believe my eyes! In the box there is an injured Twilight and a scared Fluttershy.

“S…stay back. I’m… I’m warning you.” Fluttershy said trying to protect her injured friend.

I knew that I had to help but first I had to get them to trust me.

“I am here to help.” I said with a friendly smile.

“No, you are just here to hurt us more!” Fluttershy exclaimed.

“More?” those words told me that they already encountered other humans, but they were not the friendly type. For a second, I told myself ‘Who would hurt such gentle creatures’. I shook my head bringing back to reality. I had to get them to trust me.

“Not all humans are bad. Only a few of them have their heart corrupted with greed.” I explained to her but she still feared me.

“Please tell me, how long are you guys in our world?” I asked trying to gain her confidence.

“Two… Two days.” She said

“Are you hungry? I have a granola bar in my pocket. I hope you like chocolate chips.” I said as I took out the granola bar out of my pocket; unwrapping it and waving it in front of Fluttershy’s face, tempting her. I always keep a little bit of food on me during my long walks.

She stared at the treat wiggling in front of her face. She licked her lips as she slowly got close to my hand holding the bar. She grabbed the bar with her teeth and slowly pulled it out of my hand. I let the bar slip out of my hand, letting her take it. I watched her hungrily eat the bar. She looked at me with her big aqua eyes hoping that I had more on me.

“Sorry but I don’t have any more on me!” I said sadly.

Her hope instantly disappeared. I decided that it was now or never. I decided to put my hand on her head. She looked at me, not knowing what to do, but didn’t move away. I managed to gain a bit of her trust.

‘I know that you don’t completely trust me, but you’re friend there seems to be injured and it looks like she already lost a lot of blood. You don’t have to trust me, but I want you to believe me that I only want to help” I said while holding my hand.

She looked at Twilight for a second, and then looked back at me; her eyes had the beginning of tears.

“P…Please help her” She said. Tears were now rolling down her cheeks. “I…I don’t want her to die” She was now crying loudly as rivers of tears streaming down her yellow cheeks.

I grabbed her and pulled her against my chest hugging her at the same time. “I will do the best I can. I promised her” She laid her head on my shoulder as I embraced her. I could feel the hotness of her tear filled eyes against my cheek.

I broke the hug after about a minute. I turned to Twi to examine her injuries. She’s in a deep sleep, with only an open wound on one of her hind legs.

First thing I did is to rip off one of my sleeves to use it as a temporary bandage to stop the bleeding. Then I picked up Twi in my arms to ease the transport back home. She was surprisingly light and cold. I held her in a way that I still had a hand free. I looked towards Fluttershy. She was shivering

The air around us had a chill to it. ”Are you cold?” I asked her. She nodded with a shiver. I open my free arm offering her my body heat. “Do you mind if we cuddled a bit more?” I asked with a friendly smile.

She slowly walked toward me and tried to climb my leg. She was now standing up on her hind legs using me for support; looking at me with glistening eyes. I event saw her blush.

“Could… Could you please help me up?” she asked.

“You…You’re not using your wings to lift yourself up?” I asked in reply.

Before she could answer, I helped her up. I was now holding two ponies at each side of my body.

“One of my wings got injured as well.” She explained as she dug her muzzle in my neck.

The sensation of her nuzzling my neck sent chills down my spine.

“Let’s go fix that wing of yours at my home” I calmly said as I started to walk back home.

My proofreader (Benjeman) finished correcting this first chapter. I did not do much modification so that I can put more attention on the second chapter. Hope it helps. And the next chapter will be less rushed as the first one.
