“Sorry it had to be this way… Princess!”
“Sunset Shimmer, a former student of mine.”
“This mirror is a gateway that opens once, every thirty moons.”
“She’s goin’, we’re goin’ with her!”
“Sending all of you could disrupt the balance of this alternate world, causing chaos that would make it impossible for Princess Twilight to return.”
“You must go at once.”

A small asteroid struck the Earth. Out of the crater, a towering metal figure climbed out. It twitched its wings, and eyes glowed a bright blue as it observed its surroundings. It stood up in a forest near a parking lot. It backed behind the building, taking in the view of all the cars. At last, its vision settled on a yellow Chevrolet Camaro with black racing stripes.
Taking in the sight of the vehicle, its eyes glowed brighter, and a beam shot out from each eye, enveloping the vehicle. The being then shifted into an exact replica of the yellow muscle car, and it rolled away. It began tracking the nearest, most powerful source of energy it could sense. In its mind, it recalled its orders...
“Locate the Allspark. You must find it before the Decepticons do. Without it, we will never be able to return home. And, if you get caught, if the Decepticons find you, or… if you find him… send us a signal. We will come to your aid. Good luck, my friend.”

A girl in her late teens stood in front of a statue of a proud horse rearing up on its hind legs. She wore a sleeveless white shirt and a green skirt with three butterflies on it, and she was holding out a piece of paper with a picture of her surrounded by small and adorable animals. Several more copies were securely tucked underneath her arm.
“Canterlot Animal Shelter needs more volunteers. Won’t you help an animal that can’t help itself?” she said, barely above a whisper.
None of the teenagers passing by even took notice of her. At the sight of so many people simply ignoring her pleas for help, she sighed, leaning back against the statue, and slid to the ground, dropping the fliers and hugging her knees. She began to lightly sob, when suddenly she was hit with something that made a loud SMACK against her head.
“Ow!” she exclaimed, rubbing the back of her head where it hit her. She picked up the object that hit her, and held it to her eye level. “The crown for the Princess of the Fall Formal?” she wondered aloud. “How did that get there? Oh well, I’d better return it to Principle Celestia before she gets too worried about it.” With that, she took off, not noticing as a girl with fiery red and orange hair, clad in a tough looking leather jacket, a pink shirt with a sun on it, an orange skirt, and leather boots leaped out of the pedestal the horse statue stood upon.
“What?! Where’d it go?!” she questioned. After all her hard work, from observing the return of the Elements, to months of planning and finally relieving it of the so-called ‘princess’ that replaced her, all of it had been for nothing! She then turned to a nearby student, a boy that looked a few years younger than her, clad in yellow and black running shoes, black jeans, an unbuttoned short-sleeved yellow shirt over a sleeveless black undershirt, and a yellow ball cap decorated with two black stripes and a strange red face in the front center. “You, there!” she demanded. “Did you see someone pick up a crown?!”
The boy blinked at her, taken aback by her attitude, before nodding and pointing in the direction the pink haired girl had run off to.
“She’s going to ruin everything!” hissed the fiery redheaded girl, before taking off after her unsuspecting peer. The boy watched her, blinking, and suddenly burst into a quick coughing fit, seeming to flicker in and out of existence as It happened. He glanced around nervously, then breathed a sigh of relief when no one did. He clenched his hand around his fake I.D. and expertly forged papers, before turning to his true body, the yellow muscle car with black stripes that sat outside the school. He had his mission, but this fiery haired girl and the portal she jumped out of may have complicated things. One thing was for sure. Optimus Prime had to know about this, and the Decepticons could never be allowed to know…

Twilight’s eyes blinked open. She could see some sort of stony path, and a great deal of grass. She could feel a stony texture underneath her, bringing her to the conclusion that she was laying face down on the stone.
“Twilight? Are you alright?” asked a familiar voice. A purple dog with a green tuft of fur on its head stepped into view. She blinked. It kind of looked like her dragon assistant, Spike.
“Spike? You’re not-supposed to-Spike… are you a… dog?” she asked incredulously.
Her dragon assistant looked himself over. “I… think so…” he concluded, “but I have no idea what you are.”
Twilight gasped, looking down and seeing arms with hands and fingers in place of forelegs with hooves. She sat up into a kneeling position, with her fists clenched, and let out a much needed scream. She flexed her fingers in front of her face, and waved her hands in front of her face in fear. Collecting herself somewhat, she ‘stood’ on all fours, and looked at Spike.
“What,” she asked desperately, “does the rest of me look like??”
“Uh, like you! Only not you! Your muzzle’s really small,” noted the former dragon.
“My muzzle?!” she exclaimed incredulously, reaching up to poke her noticeably smaller nose. She gasped and sputtered, about to let out another scream, before two fuzzy paws planted themselves over her mouth.
“Are you gonna scream again?” asked Spike wearily.
Twilight shook her head, and Spike released her mouth. The two turned to observe their surroundings. All around them, strange but familiar self-propelled metal carriages zipped by, faster than any pony could move. Twilight realized that they were almost identical to the ‘car’ devices most of the Autobots and one or two Decepticons from her universe could change into. She could see models similar to Knock Out, or Wheeljack, or Smokescreen, and even a yellow and black striped car parked not too far away that closely resembled Bumblebee.
“What is this place? Do you think this could be where our Autobot friends came from” asked Twilight, prompting a shrug from Spike.
Remembering her goal, Twilight’s attention turned to the enormous building behind her. It was a mighty structure with golden horse heads standing proudly atop the corners, more windows than she (well, most ponies) could count, and a monumental clock tower extending from a spectacular glass dome. None of the houses across the street could match even half of its size.
Coming to the conclusion she knew what it had to be, she spoke. “I suggest we start searching the castle first!” she announced, allowing Spike to jump aboard her back and began galloping on all fours as best as she could toward the new school. She stopped when she saw a strange local standing upright on his two hind legs walking by, leading his own dog on a leash. The two stared at each other awkwardly for a moment.
“Yeah, I don’t think that’s how the new you is supposed to-” Spike began, before Twilight interrupted him as she leapt to her feet, causing Spike to fall off. She brushed off her skirt, smiling awkwardly at the other human.
The man’s dog looked at him with a pleading grin, as if asking him to carry his canine on his back as Twilight did. The man simply narrowed his eyes and pointed forward, denying the dog his request, much to the canine’s annoyance, and the two proceeded on their way.
Twilight waited until they had gone before attempting to walk on two legs. She stumbled forward, grabbing the railing of the stairs just in time, and used the railing to help pull herself up the stairs.
“Come on, Spike!” she said. “I do not want to be like this longer than I have to!”
“Look on the bright side! You don’t have those pesky wings to worry about anymore!” suggested Spike, in hopes of appeasing her. Twilight simply glared, not at all pleased at her assistant pointing out what body parts she no longer had. Nonetheless, she finished her ascent and gracefully brushed herself off before turning and slamming her face on the glass door.
“Hmm!” she exclaimed, trying to concentrate. Open, she thought, darn it, open! The door remained shut. “My magic!” she exclaimed, “it isn’t working!”
“Makes sense,” reasoned Spike, “you don’t exactly have your horn.”
“WHAT?!” exclaimed Twilight. She grabbed at her bangs, and patted down her forehead, only, to her horror, to discover that her new body had sacrificed her most treasured appendage.
“We… really need to find you a mirror…” Spike said, feeling concerned for his friend. He batted the door open with his paw, and the pair entered the building.

The two were oblivious as the yellow Camaro watched them. Twice now, it had seen a teenaged girl exit the pedestal of the horse statue that stood outside of the school. It couldn’t be connected to the AllSpark, it knew that, but it was an important factor.
He briefly considered telling his teammates of it. No, he thought, I have no idea how it works. If I’m wrong, and it’s nothing, it’ll just be “Silly Bumblebee, imagining things that aren’t there.” No. Focus on the AllSpark, but try and gather as much information about this portal thing as you can. Maybe I can talk to that purple girl about it. She seems nicer than that fire-haired lady from earlier.
Satisfied with its conclusion, the car projected its human avatar once more, and followed the two inside, unaware he himself was being watched by an unfriendly looking police officer…
