It was a clear night sky when it all began. In the urban part of town, three teenage girls were running across. After the Battle of the Bands that happened at Canterlot High a few months back, they had been run out of the suburban area. Outcasted by society, they felt scorned, rejected, publicly humiliated. It was more than they could bear. Now don'tdon't feel too sorry for them. They had it coming.
These three were not ordinary girls. They were sirens from another world banished by a great Unicorn wizard called Star Swirl the Bearded. They had the power to entrance anyone with their singing but to do so they needed to fed on the negative energy of others. They came to Canterlot High to attain Equestrian Magic to make their power stronger turning a musical charity showcase into a Battle of the Bands. But they were thrawted by a band whose members possessed the magic they sought out called the Sonic Rainbooms, led by one Twilight Sparkle and one Sunset Shimmer. After that, the pendants which gave them their power were shattered to bits and thus their power was gone. That's when they were outcasted.
No one knew where they went after that but their leader, Adagio Dazzle, wasn't gonna take this lying down. Having managed to hold onto most of the shares, Adagio sought one thing and one thing only...
"Revenge!"
"Tell me, what are we doing again, Adagio?" asked her sarcastic associate, Aria Blaze.
"Our plan was going smoothly until those Rainbooms ruined everything for us. So, we're going to pay them back the humiliation they put us through."
"For realsies?" asked Sonata Dusk, their associate who was pretty ditzy and not too bright. "How we gonna do that?"
"Simple. These shards don't have much power in them but it'll be enough for my master plan!"
Aria asked, "And what will that 'master plan' be?"
"We'll use these shares to turn their band leader, Twilight Sparkle, against them."
"What." Aria said flatly.
"As the most powerful out of all of them, she'll have plenty of magic to spare. Once we get her on our side, she'll give us our Magic back and once she is no longer of use to us, we'll take all of hers and we'll have this world eating out the palm of our hands." Adagio then let out a sinister chuckle.
"That's your whole plan? That's the dumbest thing I ever heard!"
"You both have a point," Sonata said.
"Excuse me?" Adagio and Aria asked.
"This Twilight might be our last chance to be good singers and get everyone to love us again!"
"See?" Adagio said smugly to Aria. " For once, she sees things as they are."
"But, uh, aren't the Rainbooms immune to our singing?"
"And she actually developed some common sense," Aria said smugly to Adagio before turning back to Sonata. "Seriously though, stop acting smart. You're actually starting to scare me."
"I'm scary?" Sonata asked all bubbly.
"And she's back," Adagio said with an annoyed tone.
"Well, anyway, even if they weren't immune, do you have any idea where she even lives?" Aria asked sarcastically.
"I heard she lives somewhere in this area. We just need to ask around if they seen her."
"Well, say we did find her and we could negatively influence her and her magic, we have no idea what will happen once we do. She might give us Magic, or she could just as easily enslave us, destroy us, turn us to stone..."
"Or oranges!" They both looked at Sonata with annoyed frowns. "What? There's an actual spell for that. Plus, I'm hungry. Can we get a bite please?"
"We'll go to a taco stand once Adagio is done with her stupid plan!" Aria said to Sonata. Then, turning to Adagio who looked pretty mad after that last remark, she stated, "You realize this is a gamble with a possibility this will end badly."
"Well, if you wanna be stuck here powerless forever, fine by me!" Adagio stated, angrily.
"Oh, I'll go along with the plan, if only to laugh when this blows up in your face!"
Rolling her eyes, Adagio stated in a growled tone, "Just...come on!"
They searched all over town. It was pretty early in the evening so there were a lot of people around. But as they asked around, it seemed not one of those many people knew where Twilight lived. But Adagio was determined to find someone who knew. She had to find somebody, anybody. They searched and searched for perhaps an hour or two and they were about to give up. But then, Sonata ran toward the others, shouting excitingly.
"Hey, I found someone! She says she's Twilight's sister-in-law!"
The others all ran to her and met a young pink woman named Cadence.
"So, this young lady tells me you're looking for Twilight? Are you friends of hers?"
"Oh, yeah!" Adagio lied. "We go to the same school!"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah," Aria said. "You see, we have an assignment on, uh..."
"Chemistry!" Sonata shouted.
"Yeah, but we never got her number or address. So we hoped someone around her would know where she lived."
"I'm sure Twilight would love to help," Cadence said. Then pointing behind her, she said, "She lives with her folks three blocks down that way. Look for some stars on the first house to your left." Giggling, she then said, "In fact, only house on your left."
"Thanks for the directions, miss," Sonata said, giving her a hug which Cadence returned. "You have no idea how much this means to Adagio!"
Breaking off the hug, Cadence said, as she walked away, "You're welcome. Have a good night to you."
Sonata turned to see Adagio and Aria annoyed with her. "What? We know where to go now!"
"Yeah, well, you didn't need to be so overly friendly," Aria said. "Sometimes I wonder if you even have a brain."
"Okay, enough. Sonata's right. We know where to find Twilight, so let's go," Adagio said, with a sinister grin on her face. And so they took the route given to them by Cadence who was unaware of their true nature.
Little did they know was that they were about to make the biggest mistake of their lives. But I'm getting ahead of myself. So, before we go any further in the story, you need to hear this other story...
