//-------------------------------------------------------// Viridi: Rage Of The Rejects -by TheSorcerersApprentice- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Ambassador Viridi //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: Ambassador Viridi Long ago, gods and goddesses ruled over the land, bringing peace and prosperity as well as war and chaos. One goddess in particular vowed to obliterate the human race as she saw them unfit to inherit the world. Her name was Viridi, Goddess of Nature. She entered in a great war between herself, Palutena, The Goddess of Light, and Hades, the Lord Of The Underworld. The two goddesses brought down Hades with help from a small but powerful angel named Pit. Though the war was over, Viridi was still unsatisfied with the world. In a strange occurrence of events, Viridi was flung into the world of ponies and magic. Palutena and, unfortunately, a newly revived Hades followed her. After a glorious battle, Viridi defeated Hades and found it in her heart to forgive at least some humans. The gods found their way back and all was as it should be. But what of the goddess now? "Da da da da da da...da da da da da da da da..." Viridi hummed as she stepped down from the steps. She had her best dress on, with a dark green top like vines from a jungle and a red lower half like a rose. Multitasking, she brushed her blonde, almost white hair and put a small violet in it. Of course, this was no ordinary day. It was Sunday, the day of rest and being lazy in general. However, this did not stop Viridi from doing a few errands and visiting two friends. "I say a little prayer for me..." Viridi sung as she reached the bottom of her grass covered stairs. "Mistress Viridi, are you quite sure we can trust Mistress Palutena? After all she did attempt to harm us and destroyed your Reset Bomb Depot," Arlon, Viridi's pink-faced butler-like companion warned. "For the record, Arlon, we shot first." "Very well, Mistress Viridi." Viridi walked towards the door and threw her hairbrush out the window while Arlon jumped out to catch it with all the gracefulness of a ballerina. She reached her hand towards the sky and closed her eyes. "Warp," Viridi uttered. In a moment, the goddess was gone without a trace, only leaving behind a couple of rose petals. A majestic and beautiful woman watched carefully over a battlefield. Her green, silky hair flowed in the wind in a hypnotic rhythm. She had to concentrate, for she was in the heat of combat with a warrior of great power. An angel in a white tunic and brown sandals approached her. A fitting match for her, for who better to fight Palutena, the goddess of light, than her greatest commander, Pit? "Check!" Pit exclaimed. Palutena giggled. She was still working on teaching Pit the rules of chess. His progress was slow, but it was progress nonetheless. "Sorry, Pit, but I don't think knights work like that," Palutena pointed out. "Knights go whererever they want to go! I want to be like that someday!" As capable a warrior as Pit was, he was quite naïve. This was usually his weakness, but at times it would strengthen his heart. Unfortunately, had the angel been in a chess tournament, it would've been the former. "Oh, Pit! I think you forgot the rule where knights can m-" There was a sudden knock at the door. "I'll be right there," Palutena said. She got up from a little table as Pit patiently waited for her to return. The goddess of light opened the door to see Viridi nervously standing in the doorway. "Oh, Viridi! I wasn't sure you would make it on such short notice!" Viridi wiped her sandals politely before walking in. "Well, I didn't have anything else to do, lucky for you. So, what's the topic of discussion today?" Viridi said, adjusting two chairs like a bed, sitting down on one and putting her feet up in the other. "Well...I was hoping you could do a favor for me." "Mm? Is there something the great Palutena can't do, but I can?" Viridi smirked. Pit walked up to Viridi with a tray filled with jelly, bread and tea. "Hi, Viridi!" Pit cheerfully greeted. Viridi was caught off guard. Her face went red with the heat of a thousand suns. Viridi and Pit were both in very different relationships than when they first met. It seemed the more horrible things that happened, the friendlier they became. Too friendly, in Viridi's opinion. Not because she didn't like it, of course. She did. It was just her reputation that she was worried about. Viridi cleared her throat, "poshing" up as Arlon would say. "Hello, Pit," Viridi replied. The goddess carefully took the tray and didn't hesitate to return to the subject. "Anyways, go on." "Do you remember Equestria? The land of the talking horses?" Palutena asked. "How could I not? It's been...two weeks since, right?" "We've been communicating with their leaders, hoping to establish trade, create alliances, become friends, but we need an ambassador. Someone whom they trust. Someone who saved their entire race from extinction! Someone who will be...easily buttered up by this speech!" "You're asking me to be your ambassador? I'm not sure about this, Palutena. I threatened their leader to. Her. Face." "Come on! Do it for me! For the ponies!" Viridi considered it and thought for a few moments. She then sighed and gave in. "I'll do it." "Good luck!" Palutena winked. Viridi's body started to glow and was gone in a flash. Viridi ruffled up her dress and growled like an enraged tiger. "Palutena, what did I tell you about warping me without my..." Viridi stopped mid-sentence to find that she was no longer in Palutena's foyer, but rather in the castle of Princess Celestia herself. The white allicorn smiled gently and took a sip of a pink tea cup she had been holding with her magic. "H-Hi..." Viridi stammered, nervously. Celestia walked towards her. "It seems as if we got off on the wrong hoof. We should take this opportunity to start over, yes? Celestia said, knowingly. "O-of course." "Let me first say that my subjects and I are very thankful for your actions the last time you were here. I understand Palutena has told you about our ambassador situation. And by the looks of it, it looks like you've accepted the position!" "That's right." "I'll look forward to many wonderful years working together!" "Yeah, me too."
