The Renegade Heroes
Angel's Nightmare
Previous ChapterAngel Bunny snapped awake, blinking as he looked at his surroundings. Or rather, the lack thereof. He was floating in a black void. Nothing to his left, nothing to his right, above him nor below him. Nothing. Just an eternal pitch black void. He frowned and shook his head. He needed to get out of here, wherever he was.
Then he felt something. It was... warm. He shifted his body and started swimming his way towards it, trying to find the source, only to find that the more he swam, the colder he got. He stopped and noticed that as he waited, he progressively got warmer. He pondered this for a bit, trying to find the logic. He shrugged it off though, he's seen weirder.
As he drifted closer to whatever the heat was coming from, he noticed a small pinprick of white. Tilting his head, he watched it slowly get closer. Once he got close enough to it, he realized that it was a hole in the void. He carefully swam towards the hole, cautiously pulling himself through and falling onto a clean, white tiled floor.
He frowned as he looked around. Now, instead of everything being black, everything was white! The thing was... there were actual things here instead of simply nothing. He saw that he seemed to be in some sort of storage room, only... the boxes were white, the walls were white too. Even the light was white! He shook his head, Fluttershy owed him some carrots after this.
Angel started hearing some footsteps from the other side of the door. They sounded like that stupid owner-thief Discord, but something seemed... off. Angel quickly, but quietly, hid behind some of the boxes, not liking this sense of unease coming from this... thing. It was similar to how he had felt when Harry had moved in, this... primal fear. It disturbed Angel deeply, and he knew for a fact that he did not want to get caught by whatever was causing it, no offense to Harry.
And then the doors slammed open, causing the entire room, Angel excluded, to turn completely and utterly black. Angel couldn't even tell the floor from the box he was currently hiding behind! He stopped breathing as he felt that sense of unease jump straight into pure panic. He silently gulped as he felt the thing moving around, until it seemed to have found what it was looking for and left the room, causing the room to return to white.
Angel let out a shaky breath. He didn't know what was going on, but he did not like it. He gulped and steeled his nerves, walking around the box to see that the thing left the door open. Beyond the door was another pitch-black void. Angel cautiously walked up to the door, watching as the void rapidly dissipate from the right to the left, leaving a white hallway with white decorations. Angel thought about this for a second, and came to the conclusion that the void spreads outward from the thing, retreating back towards it once it leaves a room. That seemed logical, mildly convenient but logical, and would also mean that the thing had left the hallway and went left.
Angel smirked and gave chase, walking out the doorway and heading left. Once he reached the door, he would wait for the void to dissipate, and followed after it. He followed the thing throughout the eternally white corridors and room's, until the void stopped dissipating. Angel blinked and continued waiting, but the void didn't dissipate. He tilted his head and decided to take a chance, poking his head in and looking around. To his surprise, the room was completely black, but the objects in the room weren't taken by the void. It looked like it lead to some sort of... theater? Cautiously, Angel walked in, ready to run as soon as he felt something wrong. He took a look at the stage and gasped.
On the stage, holding a conductor's wand in hoof, was Fluttershy.
Angel blinked a bit and shook his head. Was he seeing things? Fluttershy couldn't possible be here, that thing took her, didn't he? He looked at her and frowned. Something didn't sit right about this. Even so, Angel slowly made his way down the dark auditorium.
As he neared her, he noticed something strikingly different about her. Her eyes were slits. Like cat eyes. He stopped a little bit behind and to the side of her, and frowned. This Fluttershy seemed... Confident? Almost... Angry? No... Determined? Yeah, she seemed... Determined. Then she raised her hoof, conductor's wand with it, and started conducting.
Angel shivered as the bone-chilling melody hit his ears, his eyes glistening as the truth hit him like a train. This really was Fluttershy, the truth was in the performers. On the stage, beyond this Fluttershy, was over a hundred birds, all singing in cadence to the song.
"Y͞͠o̷͢u̴̧҉̛̕ ̶̸͢s̵h̵̀͟ò̸u͢͡l̡̢͠d͏̀͘͞n͟͜'̷̶́t̶͞͠ ͏b҉̶̢͝e̵̕͢͟ ̛̕͟͟͝h̡́̕͜͞e̶͜ŕ̷̶̀e̵̶̕.͡͡"
Angel froze and turned around. There he saw him in all of his glory. The thing that did this to Fluttershy. Flutershy of all ponies.
Angel's eye twitched once. Twice. At the third twitch Angel jumped on the monster that dared to mess with Fluttershy, biting down as hard as he could. It howled in pain, ripping Angel off of him and throwing him to the ground, causing Angel to break through the floor, sealing him back into the black void.
Angel grinned as he spat out a tuft of grey fur. It seem's that he didn't go down without a fight. Although... his mouth did feel a little weird. He smacked his lips a bit before frowning. "Ah piss... I got blood on my lips!"
...Wait... Did Angel just talk?
"Yeah, yah got a bloody problem with that mate?"
...Only due to the fact that you sound Australian.
"Well that's because I am bloody Australian!"
...Oh. Well... Shit. ...Can we get back on track here please?
"Yeah, yeah... fucking racist..."
...I am going to ignore that. Anyways.
Angel Bunny suddenly blacked out, never to remember having talked to the narrator ever again.
Angel Bunny woke up suddenly, blinking a bit and looking around. Where was he? Oh right, that void place. He remembered something about a theatre, some monster thing, and talking to someone? Odd, just who would he hav- And suddenly Angel bumps his head on some sort of grey guitar that was... somehow scaled to his size?

Angel blinked a bit and rubbed his eyes. What was this of all thing's doing in here? Not that he minded, it was a sweet guitar after all, but why was it here in the void? And why was it scaled to his size? Was... Was he supposed to play it or something? It was worth a shot.
Angel drifted up to the guitar, and grabbed a hold of it. He started testing the tuning and found that it was perfectly tuned already. He gulped and looked around for any indication for what to play. When he couldn't find anything he sighed and decided to just play with the strings randomly. Just as he was about to pluck the first chord, his mind flitted back to Fluttershy. His breathing hitched as he started to tear up, mind going blank from sheer loneliness. Fluttershy was gone. And he couldn't get her back. He looked at the guitar again, and mentally begged it to help him. To help him understand.
Angel gasped as could feel the song passing through him, and gritted his teeth as he felt the void around him start to consume him. He closed his eyes and focused only on the song, letting it guide him through the eternal wasteland.
"Tonight I'm so alone, This sorrow takes ahold"
Wait, who said that? And, are there drums playing?
"Don't leave me here so cold"
Angel opened his eyes for the source of the singing, only to find nothing.
"Never want to be so cold"
"Your touch used to be so kind. Your touch used to give me life. I've waited all this time."
Wait, the void's starting to get a hazy, and Angel could vaguely see... something.
"I've wasted so much time! Don't leave me alone, Cause I barely see at all."
"Don't leave me aloooo-ooone."
Angel frowned a bit before closing his eyes, focusing back onto the song.
"Iiiiiiiii'm"
"Falling in the black! Slipping through the cracks! Falling to the depths, can I ever go back. Dreaming of the way it used to be."
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling in the black! Slipping through the cracks! Falling to the depths can I ever go back! Falling inside the black. Falling inside, falling inside the black."
"You were my source of strength, I've traded everything that I love for this one thing."
"Stranded in the offering"
"Don't leave me here like this. Can't hear me scream from the abyss. And now i wish for you my desire"
"Don't leave me alone"
"Cause I barely see at all"
"Don't leave me alone, I'm"
"Falling in the black"
"Slipping through the cracks"
"Falling to the depths can I ever go back"
"Dreaming of the way it used to be"
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling in the black"
"Slipping through the cracks"
"Falling to the depths can I ever go back"
"Falling inside the black"
"Falling inside falling inside the black"
"Black, black, black"
"Falling in the black..."
"Slipping through the cracks..."
"Falling in the black"
"Slipping through the cracks"
"Falling to the depths can I ever go back"
"Dreaming of the way it used to be"
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling in the black"
"Slipping through the cracks"
"Falling to the depths can I ever go back"
"Falling inside the black"
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling inside the black"
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling inside the black"
"Can you hear me?"
"Falling inside"
"Falling inside, falling inside the black"
Angel opened his eyes just as the song ended, the sight of two ponies, clear as day, filling his eyes.
On his left, was a young, brown stallion with lighter-brown mane and tail. He also wore a propeller beanie like a proper gentle-stallion and was holding a microphone.
On his right, a young brown mare with bright candy-green mane and tail.
That night, three creatures woke up at the same time, and the very world felt itself tremble. Because shit was going to get real.
