Location:Manehattan; Parcel Studio
Time: 12:30 p.m, a month after arrival.
In the back of a carriage there was a stallion. A stallion who sat staring out onto the luxurious and busy streets of Manehattan, as he made his way to one of the most renown studios throughout Equestria.
Parcel Studio.
“Here we are sir” a butler said as he opened the door to the rather lavish carriage.
Stepping out of the carriage and on to the cobblestone ground on his hooves was a bronze unicorn with a ruby embedded in his bracelet. The stallion nodded to his butler then took a few steps forward towards a stallion with an asparagus colored coat.
The asparagus coated earth pony met the bronze unicorn half-way through up the path smiling at him warmly before the bronze unicorn spoke. “Thank you Diligent, for having me and my friends over” the unicorn said running a hoof through his styled back mane.
“I’m sure they will appreciate you bringing me all the way out here to watch their show tonight.”
“It is not a problem sir.” Diligent said with a smile, leading the bronze unicorn down the cobblestone path and into the building. “The director has been eager to meet these ponies ever since you brought them over to display their amazing singing talent. I dare say it is the first time I’ve ever seen the director so enamored by a group of ponies music.”
Vendetta smiled. “Thank you sir. I agree those three do indeed have quite an amazing talent.”
“Indeed” Diligent said with a smile, adjusting his neck-tie as the two walked through the automatic doors and into the building.
Vendetta scanned the large lobby with interest. Though the young diplomat had been to many hotels and suites that were just as good as this lobby, the unicorn couldn’t help but take in the wonderful display of the decorations, the albums of multiple artists from the past and the fountain with how it depicted both rulers of Equestria, in both glory and beauty.
“Mr. Vendetta” Diligent called from across the lobby. The earth pony was now in front of an elevator it’s doors slowly opening. “Coming?”
Vendetta took another glance at the fountain before nodding. “Of course.” Crossing over and entering the elevator with Diligent, the doors closed and the elevator began its ascent up.
Once the elevator had begun to move the speakers hummed with static before they activated.
“Hello there! Welcome to Parcel Studios the number one music and art industry in Equestria, where our job is not only to provide you with the best type of music, but to make young equines, griffons and the other species of our world dabbling in the wonderful arts of sound, to reach their endeavors. Recently we’ve had a trio of wonderful equines join our studio in the past week and they performed quite the amazing song, for our director.
`“This is Steady Beat presenting you with our soon to be famous group The Dazzling's and their song: Under Our Spell.”
Vendetta couldn’t help but smile as the song started.
“They truly are gifted don’t you think?” Diligent said with a smile drawing his attention.
Vendetta nodded, you have no idea. “Agreed they are. The best singers I know of.”
Diligent couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh that’s true they are quite gifted. I’d say almost more than Sapphire Shores. It’s like when they sing they just captivate you. You know?” the stallion asked looking at the bronze unicorn.
Vendetta smiled, “I know. They’re voices tend to have an influence like that on others.”
“I’ll say, and their song just fits perfectly, the name especially. I mean you should have seen the Director, he almost never reacts to other songs unless their really good” Diligent stated. “So you can imagine how surprised we were when they sang and he, well he just seemed to fall in love with their voices.”
“Director SoundProof huh?” Vendetta asked. Diligent nodded.
“He’s one of the toughest directors Parcel Studios has ever had, but even he didn’t seem capable of resisting those threes voices. And honestly it was quite surprising” Diligent said expressing his exasperation. “But even I have to admit that after hearing those three sing even I can’t get enough of it. Strange huh?”
Vendetta turned his gaze towards the door as a light ding occurred, signalling they had reached their desired floor.
“Oh trust me Diligent” he said with a slight grin. “It’s not that strange for those three.”
Because if I know them, they’ll do more than put you in a trance with their voices.
The doors opened, the song came to an end and then the two exited. Down the decorated hall featuring the three sisters.
Once reaching the end of the hall in front of a large door that read The Dazzling's, in gold letters the secretary to the directory moved forward and knocked on the door with his hoof.
“Dazzlings, you have a guest” Diligent said warmly. A few seconds of silence passed before a response came.
“Let him in” said a gentle voice. Diligent stepped aside as the door was opened for Vendetta to enter into the room.
“I’ll be back in a few minutes to call them when the director is ready for them to go up to the broadcasting room to meet the mare who’ll be doing tonight’s nationwide broadcast across Equestria.
Vendetta nodded his consent before entering the room and closing the door.
Once the door was shut he spun around to see what appeared to be the fusion of a dressing room, living room, and spa all combined into one. “Over here” a voice called from behind the wall of mirrors that the unicorn faced.
Vendetta trotted over in the direction.
Once he turned the corner he saw them. The equines that had made him the very talk of Manehattan even more so since his graduation as one of the youngest diplomats to graduate from Honeycomb’s Academy of Politics. Or his meet with his friend, the pony he hadn’t seen in a month since he brought these three back into Equestria.
Hailstorm. Vendetta hadn’t talked to him in a while. He’d heard the stallion had grown somewhat a bit more distant with the Elements of Harmony, but was still managing to maintain strong bonds with them.
He smiled weakly. There’s no way I can go back to him now. They wouldn’t understand. *He** wouldn’t understand. Not after I brought them here.*
Vendetta looked up upon the call of his name at the arctic blue equine getting her hoof polished and done, beside her sisters who were getting massages.
The sirens.
“Yes Sonata?” Vendetta said trotting over to a seat near the three siren sisters.
“You looked like you were lost in thought a few seconds ago” the mare said with a smile and worried eyes. “You alright?”
Vendetta nodded. “I’m fine. Don’t worry, you guys excited?”
The arctic blue mare jumped in her soft plump, saloon seat. “Of course! We haven’t been able to sing in ages, since um” she noticed the stare Aria gave her from her table. “Um, yeah anyway” she said putting her hoof back down so the mare polishing it could continue. “I’m really happy. Thanks for helping us with all of this.”
“Your welcome” he replied kindly. “But it was your older sister who got you guys off that small rock and onto a wonderful paradise. She did get you guys to sing in front of the Summer Festival stage, remembe?”
“Well that’s true” the light gold earth pony said with a smug smile. “But in all honesty we owe our launch to you. So thank you Vendetta we appreciate it.”
“Yeah” Aria said, letting out a soft whinny. “Thanks a bunch! Oh yeah, that’s the spot” the siren sighed when her masseuse started working out the tense muscles in her neck.
The bronze unicorn smiled gladly. “It wasn’t a problem. I’m glad to be of some help at least.”
Sonata’s left hind hoof was now getting worked on. The siren, leaned her muzzle over to the spa pony behind her and whispered into his ear.
The stallion nodded. Instantly moving over to Vendetta the pegasus stallion and a mare with a name tag on her shirt saying her name was “Careful Finish” pushed the unicorn back into his seat, one working on his forehoof the other working to add a little shine in his already slick backed mane.
“What’s happening?” Vendetta asked doing his best to keep his voice calm and not feel uncomfortable by the increased attention he had gained.
“Just a reward” Adagio said with a sly smile.
“You deserve it after all” Aria said with a smug grin.
“So relax and enjoy” Sonata said with a grin.
Vendetta rolled his eyes and let the spa ponies do their work, relaxing a bit as they worked on him. Within a few seconds he heard the front door open and the clicking hoofsteps of a pony trotting into the room.
Diligent’s head poked out from behind the mirror of walls. “Dazzlings, Vendetta?” he said gently.
They all looked up, which made the asparagus earth pony smile.
“Vinyl Scratch is here and in the broadcasting room. She’s ready when you are.”
The three sirens looked at each other and smiled. “Thank you Diligent. We’ll be there in a few minutes” Adagio replied.
The earth pony nodded, “The director will and I will be at the elevator, when you’re ready please head there.”
Vendetta nodded, before watching the stallion’s head disappear around the corner.
Two minutes passed before the three sisters were dressed in beautiful one shoulder dresses with a ribbon that matched their manes tied to their fetlocks, shoes matching the dress that matched their eyes.
Vendetta waited by the door, whistling when he saw all three sirens stand before him, confidence radiating from each one. And a slight glint coming off each of their pendants.
“Alright girls” Adagio said with a confident grin. “It’s show time.”
“Through here please” Diligent said leading the group down the hall towards the studio. The group of ponies along with the sirens following in tow were lead down the hall, through a door, up a flight of stairs and through another hall before reaching two massive doors.
SoundProof the director of the studio, a unicorn who wore a blazer opened the doors with his magic. “Go on inside” he instructed.
“Thank you” Vendetta nodded, allowing the sirens to enter first, then Diligent before he himself went inside followed by the director.
“Whoa” Aria said when they entered the room.
And whoa it was. For the room had a gold paint skillfully decorating it, with a variety of colors. Multiple switches for different light adjustments on one wall, while on the other a snack booth that held both refreshments and other means of nourishment.
Standing near the equipment in front of the recording room, was a white unicorn in a sleeveless jacket, headphones up and bobbing her head to music.
“Wow. This place really is the best studio in the world” Aria said, moving over to the snack booth while completely ignoring the unicorn.
“Thank you” SoundProof said with a complacent grin, “Now I’d like to introduce you to our DJ, who’ll be helping broadcast your performance through most of Equestria.”
Diligent tapped the mare in her seat gently, he was able to grab her attention for a brief second before she smiled at him and lifted her shades up. “Miss Vinyl, our singers are here.”
Adagio moved towards the unicorn giving her a smile once the two were close. “Hello, Vinyl it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m looking forward to your cooperation during this broadcasting.”
Vinyl grinned, quickly walking past Diligent and wrapping her hoof around Adagio’s neck who tensed a bit when the unicorn touched her, but calmed when she saw the smile. “Hey no problem girl. I’m just happy I got into this studio, only the best of the best get up here so it’s an honor to work with a group of amazing singers like you!”
“Thank you” Adagio said, moving the mare’s hoof off her neck kindly and away from her pendant. “Now girls.”
“One second” Sonata said.
Vendetta turned his attention away from the director, Adagio and the rest to see Sonata desperately trying to reach for a taco, licking her lips sensually as she moved towards it only for the director’s magic to wrap around the siren and drag her away from the snack booth.
Aria snickered at her sister’s disappointed reaction.
“There will be time for food later. We’re running on a tight schedule ladies and I’d prefer we set everything up before the time for your performance is past start. Shall we?” he gestured towards the recording room.
The three sirens nodded.
“Good” Diligent said. “Miss Vinyl if you would help me get the connection hooked up.”
“Sure” Vinyl says moving towards the panel booth. Meanwhile Director SoundProof followed the sirens inside to the room, giving them instructions on when their cue would be and to wait for him to give them the signal for them to start.
Vendetta sat beside Vinyl Scratch watching everything, unable to shake off the slight feeling of nervousness.
This was the first step to introducing the sirens back into equine society, if this worked everything he’d done. Tricking Hailstorm and the others, using his bracelet, all of it, would be worth it. He couldn’t wait to see the outcome of tonight but at the same time he couldn’t help but feel extremely nervous as well.
“Alright then” SoundProof says trotting out of the recording room. “Vinyl could you please hit the switch to activate the comm for the two rooms.”
Vinyl nodded, with a smile.
“Okay Diligent, get ready to set the connection then we’ll have Vinyl begin her introduction with a few songs, before The Dazzlings, go. Is that alright with everyone?”
Everyone in the room nodded.
“Excellent. Ok then on my signal” Director SoundProof ,lifted his right forehoof up. “Okay then, 3...2...1...” he pointed towards Diligent who activated the LIVE switch.
“Miss Vinyl, your turn.”
Vinyl nodded, moving her headphones off her head and taking in a deep breath before speaking. She grinned.
“Hey there all you ponyfolk this is DJPon3 making a special appearance here in Parcel Studios, I’ve been chosen as the lucky Dj that’s going to work with tonight’s special guests, who I’m sure you might have heard of recently their first song being quite a hit around Manehattan and starting to grow in a few other places. The Dazzlings.
SoundProof nodded, signaling for her to put music up on when she was done. Vinyl got the hint.
“They’ll be singing their latest song in a couple of minutes so make sure you’ll be staying tuned as it will be live all across most parts of Equestria. Enjoy” the director pointed to Vendetta who flipped the switch that played records of previous songs or a few recent ones that had been out for at least a month.
A few minutes passed as the group waited for SoundProof to give them the signal.
“Ok, now.”
Diligent switched power back to Vinyl’s mic after Rara’s song ended. “Welcome back ponyfolk. DJPon3 here and now it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for, here they are. The Dazzlings.”
Diligent switched the background of the room to black, then set three lights on each of the sirens. “Ready over here.”
SoundProof nodded. “You girls ready?” he said through his headpiece, the sirens nodded. “Alright then. 3...”
Vendetta could feel it. His heart beating, blood pulsing through his veins with a new force as he could feel his breath increasing. Am I having a panic attack? he thought, no it wasn’t that. He soon realized it was excitement.
Excitement about what he was about to do. He was about to make history, be the first diplomat ever to be capable of settling a feud that had started over a thousand years ago. And it was all about to unfold in this very studio.
“...2...”
This was it, the moment of truth was coming. He grinned, an absolute feeling of joy taking over.
“...1...Go!” SoundProof instructed, pointing his hoof in their direction.
Diligent sent power to their mics, Vinyl raised the volume and sound so that the music would flow easily. Nice and loud for all those listening to tune in on.
“Go get ‘em girls.” Vendetta tapped the switch that activated the music recorded for Adagio, Aria and Sonata to sing on their request.
Adagio grinned, their pendants all glowing faintly when they were given the signal and the lights hit them. “Show time.”

Hailstorm sat in Twilight’s room with the others listening to the radio, Rara’s song just ending. “Hm...catchy” he thought. The former human turned to leave the room, but stopped when a sudden headache hit him out of nowhere.
“Argh!” he placed a hoof on his head. What on earth is it this time?! the stallion’s thoughts were interrupted by the Dj’s voice managing to reach him.
“Now it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for, here they are. The Dazzlings.”
The Dazzlings? Hailstorm thought. Why does that sound so familiar? His headache had begun to decrease now as he heard the music begin to start. The pain slowly disappearing into nothing, as he listened to the music continue.
That’s when I heard their voices.
Instantly all my thoughts, everything I hadn’t been able to remember the night I lost a day's worth of memory came flooding back to me. Vendetta, the young pony I hadn’t met in the past month and hadn’t been to Ponyville since I awoke was one of the first things I recalled. How the stallion hadn't been here once since I awoke.
Then I realized.
Vendetta had been avoiding me because he’d done what I had feared he’d do. Images of three figures emerging from the portal, the portal to my home instantly flashed into my mind.
My eyes widened with disbelief.
He’d brought the sirens back. And from what Twilight had informed me when I asked who they were, they were a force to be reckoned with.
The music I was listening to was a primary example of this, as I was starting to immediately feel any sense of anxiety, anger or other being sapped away from me and drawing me into a state of calmness.
I quickly shook my head to snap out of the small trance, feeling it disappear instantly.
“The sirens are back. And I’ve got to find out what they’re plans are.”
