For ten long years a Paramedic devoted himself to others. When they cried out for help, he had always been there. But ten years is a long time, and time had jaded his heart. He no longer cared for others and it had just become a job. He was alone, but that's how he wanted it to be. Or so he had convinced himself.

On a rainy and dreary day in Texas, the man met with his end. But in the end, there came a second chance. A chance at a life that he had forsaken. Wishing nothing more than to live again, the man accepts this one last chance, and will do everything to live a life worth living…Even if times have changed.

Well y'all, here it is, yet another HiE fic. If it ain't your cup of tea, then don't read it. However, for those interested, I've done my best to give this HiE a bit of a different spin. I'll leave it at that so hopefully y'all will give it 'the ol' college try'! Also, this story is filled with 'Dawww' moments, so y'all be ready :D.
