“Love is not a thing you get a lot,
But love the girl you have got.
She is always there to care for you,
The thing we have is oh so true”
- Autumn Delight

"No... No... NO!" the bookish Alicorn bemoaned as she tossed book after book behind herself, a scowl crossing her delicate features. She heaved a sigh of annoyance, her hands slowly running through her dark purple hair, as she used her red-ish pink magical aura to lift up the book she had just finished searching through her eyes closed as she laid herself onto the desk with a long drawn out sigh of resignation. She tossed the last of the books over her shoulder earning a small draconic squeal from behind her as the enormous stack of books collapsed on top of her number one assistant. "Nothing..." she muttered to herself. “There is NOTHING, Spike.” She said, without even noticing the small dragon was buried under a bookcase worth of books.

“Twilight, help me!” Spike protested as his claw grasped from under the landslide of books, desperately seeking for a way to pull him to safety. He let out a small squeak as the princess of friendship used her magic to pull him from below the pile of books, setting the young dragon onto the desk, gently.

“Sorry Spike, I’m a little distracted” she excused herself as she looked him over for injuries, even though she knew his scales would have protected him from any real harm that a mountain of books could cause for a pony.

“So what’s on your mind, Twilight?" He asked, his large eyes looking into her violet eyes surrounded by dark circles from the lack of sleep. “Have you actually taken the time to sleep?”

“Of course I haven’t, how could I sleep?” she blurted out in mild annoyance, her wings stretching outwards as she leapt off the chair with a mighty flap. This caused her to stumble on the landing, as she was still not used to being airborne” I have gone through every single book in Ponyville Spike. And I can't find anything about being a princess."

Blushing slightly as she observed the pile of books that she had created, biting her bottom lip softly to suppress a groan. Her hands softly patted the pleated skirt that hung low to her ankles, and pushed her glasses slightly up on her nose. “Well... I should clean this up.” she said with a small nod to her own words not really talking to anyone in particular. Her horn illuminated in a soft purple-pink glow as the princess weaved the spell in her mind allowing the aura to envelop the books, levitating them to their rightful place in the book shelves in record time.

“Remind me again, why do we still have a re-shelving day when you can do that?” Spike asked in his rather typical, playfully sarcastic voice. He eyed the books being placed at a pace that he and Twilight could never manage when doing the same thing by hand and claw.

Arching her eyebrow she glanced to Spike as her magic slowly died down, with a small smile on her rosy lips “Because it’s fun and relaxing of course!” she said, earning a small groan from the little Dragon. "Spike take a letter for me" she was about to say, though the sentence was interrupted by a small young dragon belching out a rather large puff of green flames, from which a sealed scroll materialized into existence landing on Twilight’s desk a moment after.

The young drake smirked just a little as he took the sealed letter from the desk and cut open the wax seal and unrolled the letter "Seems like Princess Celestia beat you to it." He said, grinning slightly as he started to recite the letter's content.

My dearest Twilight,

It has been some time and I hope you are settling in well with your altered from, I know getting used to the changes can be a difficult, and even hard for you getting used to having wings and an increased magical aptitude.

Not to mention getting used to the idea of being a princess of Equestria. I am sure you have been worrying about what is expected of you from now on? I would not be surprised if you have been combing through all books in Equestria for information on the subject.

My sister and I would like to invite you to come to Canterlot this upcoming weekend. So we may discuss this and your future role in the political stage. Not to mention it has been over two months since your coronation and the summer Sun festival is drawing closer, it would be lovely to see you again.

Love,
Celestia

"How did she know I was...?” Twilight trailed off and blushed slightly as she looked to spike questioningly, her cheeks turning a rather cute shade of crimson as she realized just how informal the letter sounded to her, as if she and the solar goddess where... equals. Her hands clasped over her heart as she checked her pulse, she opened her eyes wide at that thought. She was stricken with nervousness although she was quickly snapped out of her freak out moment by the snapping of a claw.

"Equestria to Twilight, wake up Twilight." The smaller drake said, giving her his signature deadpan look. "You're predictable like that, is how she knew. Shall I take a letter in response?" He said, looking at her with quill and parchment already in his claws; a small smile adorned the young drake as he watched his older sister.

"W- Yes, take a letter Spike." She nodded gently, sitting down crossing her legs as she does so starting to recite a letter in return, a bit more formal than Celestia’s letter had been by habit mainly or perhaps by sheer nervousness at the thought of being seen as an equal by Princess Celestia.

Spike scribbled furiously as he followed along with what Twilight was reciting, not having any trouble with his penning, though at times looking up at her with an arched eyebrow “You’re going to reply that formally to her? You realize that being a princess makes you equals right?” he offered though was silenced by what could only be described as a death glare from his elder sister.

Dear Princess Celestia and Luna,

It has indeed been a while princess, much to my personal regret though getting used to my wings is coming along slowly, I have been training with Rainbow Dash though I am embarrassed to admit that little Scootaloo is still a better flier than me at this point in time.

Even though there has been more than one embarrassing situation. I have indeed as you had guessed been trying to read up on what being a princess means but alas to no avail there seems to be no books about the subject out there! Which is something that should be corrected, even if I have to personally author such a work?

But that is not why I am writing you, I would like to accept your offer, and will be coming to Canterlot this weekend. It would indeed be lovely to see you and Princess Luna once more. I must admit I have missed the both of you, especially your lessons Princess.

Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle

Twilight nodded her satisfaction as her number one assistant signed it with her name; she stretched herself with a small yawn. Her wings spreading to their full span as she slumped back into the chair, listening to Spike reciting the letter back to her before rolling it up and sealing it.

Spike took a deep breath and engulfed the parchment with a torrent of emerald dragon’s fire, its ashes blowing out of the window on the winds of draconic magic. “Sent, what now Twilight?”

"Good, I am going to rest Spike. You're in charge for the day" She informed her little brother as she kissed the drake on his cheek tenderly. Her free hand softly patted him over his head, before slowly trotting up the stairs to her bedroom. "No parties while I am sleeping." She said, jokingly.

Princess Celestia let out a small content sigh as she allowed herself to fall back in her desk chair, her eyes half lidded as she held the steaming cup of tea close to her chest. She was taking in the rich herbal scent of her beverage as well as its warmth. It was early in the morning she had just raised her Sun and finally sent her and Luna’s letter to Twilight. Slowly she eyed the sleeping form of her younger sister, nestled in between the pillows on her bed, coaxing a small chuckle of the Solar Princess.

The dark blue haired princess of the night had been so excited when she found out Celestia planned to invite her faithful student over for lessons in being a princess. Luna had practically been bouncing like a young filly that was offered candy for the first time in weeks.

The elder Alicorn stood up, levitating her full cup of tea in her brilliant white magical aura, hands slowly straightening the simple gold trimmed cream coloured gown. As she passes the mirror she took a moment to admire herself, flashing a little smile as she examined her outfit for the day, she had chosen something more traditional for a princess of Equestria, although many of the her nobles could see it as being risqué as it showed off a generous amount of flesh.

Princess Celestia was not vain in anyway, but she was a little proud of how the thin white dress hugged her hourglass figure, bringing attention to her curves. It had a modestly cut V-neck showing off a tasteful amount of cleavage, but not excessively so. As always her outfit was finished by her golden crown and the Sun medallion she wore as her badge of office.

She was pulled from admiring the handiwork of her personal tailor though as a puff of green smoke entered through the open window, materialising in a letter on the surface of her ancient oaken desk.

She allowed herself a fond smile as she took it in one hand, using one of her long ivory white nails top break the wax seal that held twilight’s cutie mark. Reading the letter with a fond smile, she glanced to her sister whispering softly “I am sure Lulu will like it that you are coming in two days.” Slowly she rolled up the letter and levitated it besides her sister with a small chuckle she put down her cup on the trolley that the maid had left with her breakfast and then slipped out of her room silently to allow Luna her sleep.

Nodding at the guards that stood watch at her door, the Princess offered them a radiant and truthfully joyous smile. "Good morning, Moonshadow and Starsong," she greeted the two, causing them both to start a little at the cheery tone in contrast to her usual graceful and soft spoken way of addressing them.

“Good morning, your majesty” The platinum blond and silver haired Unicorn guard said with a small smile of her own. While the strawberry blond haired Pegasus mare remained silent. They both followed Princess Celestia, staying one step to her side and two steps behind her as they had been taught at the royal guard academy. "Did you receive good news princess?" Starsong, the platinum blond and silver haired mare asked, daringly as they walked through the mostly empty halls, the only sound present on the serene morning being the soft clattering of their armour, and the tapping of Celestia’s heels on the floor.

“Yes indeed, very good news in fact!” She replied with a warm fondness in her voice, glancing over at Starsong with a motherly smile set on her lips, “My faithful student is coming to visit this weekend.”

Starsong nodded gently with a small smile “That is good to hear princess, she has been missed by many I must admit, Shall I make arrangements for her old tower to be made ready?” she offered helpfully, and smiled brightly as Celestia nodded her consent.

Starsong gently pushed open the doors to the throne room with her magic and allowed the Princess to walk in, as she and Moonshadow stood followed her and flanked her throne on either side.

Taking a deep breath Celestia approached the already waiting assembly of dignitaries, and nobles that came to appeal to her day court. “Good morning my little ponies.” Celestia said in her signature gentle motherly way, holding up a hand to prevent them from bowing to her.
