Forest looked at his excited brother. "I haven't told you yet?"

"Err... No... not that i remember!"

"Oh well.. lets go!"

"OH YEAH!"

The two pegasi trotted up to the door. "This is gonna be so COOL! what's he like? is he nice? is he cool like you? can he fly well? is he even a PEGASUS?"

"Well... come find out!" Forest knocks on the door and a gray earth pony with a brown mane and tail opens the door.

"Oh hey forest! how are--" His gaze flicks towards Starlight. "Oh hello. who are you?"

"Im your other brother Starlight? Whats your name?" He pipes up.

The earth pony looked at forest confused. "Little brother? last time i checked, i only had one brother..."

Starlight's ears droop. "You really haven't even heard about me?"

"No... im really sorry but i don't. But it's nice to meet my little brother. Im tyler."

"Yay! i have another brother!" He flutters his wings excitedly and winces immediately. "Ow..."

Forest spoke again "Lets get you some ice for that..."

Starlight applied the ice and relaxed. "Okay, that's SOO much better." He looks behind him. "You two catch up... i have to apologize to a certain attractive filly.

Tyler looked at his brother with amusement and gave Forest a questioning look.

"Like Starlight said... we have things to catch up on."

Starlight opened the door to his new home and trotted past forest, his head turned away from him. "Oh... hey forest... how are you?"

"Hey star. How are you today?"

Starlight turned towards his brother to reveal a black eye. "Reeeally bad."

Forest glanced at his eye. "What happened?"

"Well... i was apologizing to Ranbow, and we got into a conversation and when i was about to leave i might have... kinda sorta... subtly but out in the open... asked her out."

Forest shook his head. "You can't just ask a mare out, first you have to warm her up."

"That's not exactly why she hit me... she was shocked and all but i... tried to... kiss her..."

"Wait... you tried to kiss her?"

"I just... i mean i... She's beautiful! Im sorry... i couldn't resist! both of us... sitting on a cloud all alone... my mind took over."

Forest placed a hoof on his shoulder to comfort his brother. "I understand. Just couldn't fight the temptation, huh?"

"Yeah and now my EYE regrets it..." He plopped himself onto the couch. "What am i gonna do now? There's NO WAY that she'll like me after that..."

"Just give her time. Soon she'll know that you can't resist and she'll fall for you too."

"Yeah but how many black eyes are in-between now and then, huh?"

"What do you expect bro? you tried to kiss her and you aren't even dating."

"True... hey, what's that?" He points to a rainbow fountain in cloudsdale.

"The rainbow factory." ((no foreshadowing intended, just random stuff.))

"Oooh. Hey! can i head into town today? i don't go there often..."

"Sure thing."

"Yes! thank you!" He trotted out the door and headed for Ponyville.

Starlight busts through the door, his mane neater than it was before he left. "i met... somepony... called... rarity... big mistake..." he pants even worse and collapses. Ow...

"Well that's what she's good at."

"No no... LOOK at my mane. Never combed it once and its... i don't even... HOW?!"

"That's what Rarity is skilled at. fashion."

"Uhg. Fashion" I look good enough as is!" He jumped up and did a small loop in the air. "i just HAD to bail when she offered to make me a suit."

"i know. you're not much of a gentlecolt are you?"

"And THAT, my brother, is the truth. except the gentle part. im TOTALLY gentl--" He tripped and knocked a vase over. "i got it!" He dived and caught it.

"Nice catch."

"Yeah... thanks... nevermind gentle. i got fast down though!"

"This is true, assuming you can fly away from me with a zapped wing/" He said with amusement in his voice.

"Whatever... And by the way, i just wanted to know something. What happened to Mom and Dad?"

Forest's mood darkened. "I was hoping you wouldn't ask that..."

"Oh... im sorry i was just... i just wanted to know. You're not mad are you?"

"Its fine, i just didn't want to tell you what... happened."

"What happened." he repeated with question in his voice. "Um... okay."

"Well... when i was a young colt, a bit younger than you are, the town i was raised in caught on fire. when i escaped the house, i couldn't find either of them. So i ran inside to find them and i saw them cornered by the fire. Before i could help them, an elder pulled me out and i haven't seen them since.

"i... i..." was all he could say, than tears began forming in his eyes. "So we... you di..." He hung his head, crying.

A tear rolled down forest's face. "I know its sad bro but..."

"So i really am an orphan."

"Im afraid you are."

Starlight shook his head. "No im not, 'cause i have somepony to take care of me. You." He smiled through his tears.

Forest laughed a bit and they both sat there, blinking out the tears when Forest heard a knock on the door, and he opened it "Boss, your back!"

"Yes i am, so the store is opened. how are you?"

"Glad to be back sir. Oh, and this is my little brother starlight."

Staright spoke from behind Forest. "Hello! Im starlight! Back here!"

"Starlight? you know you can come out, right?"

"Yeah, but this pony is a whole lot taller than me!" Starlight scrambled out from behind him and looked up at Mikao. After greeting the other adult pony, He looked outside and saw 2 familiar pegasi. "Hey! there's some of my friends!" Without waiting for a response, he dashed out the door.

"Well he's a very eccentric fellow. so how've you been?"

"I've been pretty good myself i have been mighty lonely with just me here, so im glad you're back."

"Do you think you could head up to the shop in a few?"

"Uh, sure thing boss."

All of a sudden, a shout comes from outside. "Why don't you jerks ever SHUT UP?!"

"Starlight? what's going on out there?"

Starlight didn't hear, and one of the other colts that showed up spoke. "Why don't YOU shut up, ya little filly!"

"You're gonna have to MAKE ME!" Starlight tackled and began punching the other colt.

Forest ran outside "Starlight what are you..." He see's starlight punching the colt

The colt pushes starlight off.

Staright screams at him again. "Ill do this again if you don't leave me alone next time!"

One of the mares next to him walked up to him and whispered something in his ear.

Forest grabbed his brother and pulled him away. "What is going on Starlight?"

"Well APPERANTLY, everthing i do gives this idiot another reason to make fun of me! i'm kinda GLAD i broke his nose!

"You broke his nose?!"

"He's done worse!"

"Cmon starlight, lets go find something ELSE to do."

"Alright... fine."
