Cotton Candy's Point of View

Cotton Candy walked through the woods, holding a basket of blueberries, having just collected them from a nearby field. As she approached her house, she saw the lights on and a few moving figures in the light protruding from the windows. Her heart started pounding, She only had a mother and father, no siblings. So why were there the extra shadows? Forgetting the berries, she rushed to the door and opened it a crack. There were three ponies, a unicorn, and two pegasi, tearing everything up and grabbing the valuables. And on the floor, the bodies of her mother and father, there heads facing 180 degrees around. A lump formed in her throat as she saw the horrible scene. That sadness was soon replaced by anger and she charged in, screaming at the top of her lungs. The ponies looked around in surprise, and once they realized what was making the noise, they started laughing.

“Come now young filly. How do you expect to stop us?”, the unicorn asked. She stopped, how could she? She had only just mastered picking up and moving objects with her horn. But that’s all she would need. Staring past the ponies and into the kitchen, she saw a knife laying on the counter next to some onions. She concentrated and saw it lift off the counter in a orange glow. Concentrating a little more, it flew forward a foot.

“Not gonna answer? Well, you’re here and a witness, gotta get rid of you then.” They started advancing towards her and she quickly yanked the knife towards her. It plunged into the unicorn’s neck and he keeled forward, leaving the knife hanging in mid-air. The pegasi stood there, staring. She threw it towards them and it zoomed through one’s chest then into the forehead of the other. She stood there, letting the knife clatter to the ground as she stared at what she had done. All five ponies lay on the floor, blood pooling around their bodies. As she took it in, she realized that she didn’t feel sad. She didn’t feel scared. She felt happy. This is what she was good at, killing people. But she needed to get out of here before anyone found this and also realized it. She dashed to her room and as she did, she felt a tingle on her flank and knew she had just gotten her []cutie mark](http://orig06.deviantart.net/9ae2/f/2010/050/4/6/dagger_sketch_1_by_ariasilverfyre.jpg). And she knew that it would be a knife, the knife that she had used to kill the people that killed her parents.

Infinity Note's Point of View

Infinity Note sat on her bed, a pillow over her head to muffle the racket going on downstairs. Her mother and brother had gotten into another fight and she had run to her room in fear. Her brother had gotten in trouble at school again for bullying some fillies that still had not gotten their cutie marks. their mother had been furious. he had gotten suspended for a week and she was being sued by the fillies parents. Suddenly a crash was heard from downstairs and then a yell.

“Go on!! Throw things! It’s not changing the fact that you’re tearing this family apart!” Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore. Opening the window, she jumped down onto the porch a few feet below and ran into town, tears streaming down her face. It was late so there weren’t many ponies out, just one or two taking midnight strolls or flights. As she turned a corner, she ran straight into some pony.

“Whoa! Hey there young filly. What’s the rush?” The pony was white with a bright purple mane. She also had headphones that she was pulling off her ears.

“Sorry ma’am. My mom and big brother got in a fight and mom said that he was tearing the family apart.” A tear escaped her eye, and the big pony wiped it away.

“Hey, don’t be sad. Here, come with me to my home. I can get you some milk and cookies.” She nodded and followed the big pony.

“I’m Red octave, but call me Octave” She suddenly said, holding out her hoof.

“Infinity Note, call me Infinity.” They shook and continued.

“Here we go.” They had reached a small little cottage with a bit of smoke rising through a chimney. They walked in and she gasped. THe walls were covered in posters, pictures and drawings. All featuring music.

“Go ahead, sit down.” Octave said, gesturing to a comfy looking chair.

“You really like music.” Infinity said, staring in awe at all the music stuff. Octave laughed as she pulled out a plate of cookies and a jar of milk.

“As much as Princess Celestia is an alicorn. Would you like to hear some?” Infinity’s eyes lit up.

“Yes please!” She grabbed a cookie and stuffed it in her mouth. Octave took off her headphones and placed them on her head. Music like she had never heard before filled her mind. It soothed and warmed her insides, making her feel safe. She swayed to the voices. Octave laughed.

“You like it?” Infinity nodded and started humming along, adding hums here and there to change it up. In her head, it sounded amazing and she was happy with it. As the songs played on, she changed up the hums more and more until she realized that it was getting light outside.

“Oh my gosh! I have to go!” She threw off the headphones with a feeling of sadness and rushed to the door.

“Hey, just to let you know, you’re really good at changing it up and making it new.” She nodded her thanks as she remembered the song she had made up. Suddenly, there was a tingling on her flank and Octave gasped. Infinity turned around and saw on her flank a cutie mark, an infinity sign with part of it having music notes scattered around it.

“Cool kiddo!”
