//-------------------------------------------------------// Ad Nauseam -by Fireflower- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Colorblind //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note I'm Fireflower and this is my new fanfic using canon background characters from the show as human beings instead of their normal forms; however, this is a Mature-rated fanfic with at least one instance of strong language so unless you're in eighteen plus panel, stop right now and hit the back button. As for continuity, this story alone would be set between Seasons Two and Three. Anyways, I just want to state for the record that My Little Pony, or rather Friendship Is Magic along with its setting and characters belongs to Lauren Faust and Hasbro; therefore, I don't own a goddamn thing. Colorblind If there was one thing that had proved to be noticeable, then it would be the shining light enveloping everything and everyone around itself; it's purpose simple: keeping things on the lighter side. For starters, there were rather a clustering series of cloud bursts in every shape and size possible, some were lighter and others were darker but they all had nothing short of a silver lining in every single one amongst the goldenrod sky. Within a large dream drop distance was a civilization defined in such various materials, most of them being the ones fit for the likes of even three little pigs. The calm gentle breeze had surfed across the grassy knoll, the brilliant green surrounding it all on a solid lower plane of existence even at the dirt road guided its way over from a nearby forest, a curvilinear line worth holding as much as it is worth crossing. In the background, there had rested a blue ridged valley of mountains, all of them raging with growth and erosion in the process of their trying times as the sun remained over the horizon. The small town has been bustling about with an utter abundance of people from various demographics: age, gender, finances, and social standing being nothing short from the standardized metallurgy of life. Out of many buildings in this rather quiet place, there was one that had stood out amongst others: a large building was residing in the very outskirts of the town remained in the distance. It had stood up as high as at least three stories tall with a pair of stone chimneys stretching upward as they remained separated by a large distance, separate but truly equal. Its roofing had the style similar to the likes of many residences with the adjacent town, albeit composed of ligneous uniformity instead of loose hay as seen before. Standing out above from the very entrance was a red circle with several pink hearts, all of which were separated by a white cross in the very epicenter of the whole thing. Surrounding it already were such countless windows, all of which were of the same material and shape but otherwise in many various sizes. All that had remained out there was a pair of olive doors resting underneath an awning as they were in front of a dirt trail already inscribed deeply upon the brilliant green. Treading quickly upon the beaten path was a singular woman approaching the large structure already. Her skin had possessed a bright complexion that was as clear as the golden sun shining above in the big blue sky. Standing out and about was a frown that was printed firmly enough to make the most observant be wary of the owner’s harlequin orbs. A white cap was found to be worn upon the owner’s light blue hair, bearing the same insignia as the one upon the building’s front itself. The woman also wore a pale yellow ensemble of a jacket, skirt, and slippers that covered most of her thin body, save for the arms and legs. “Hello, Snowheart…” a voice was heard but it didn’t come from the traveler who came in through the doors in front of her. In front of her was another woman; unlike the former, the latter had some differences easy to point out. The greeter had possessed a darker complexion that was rather reminiscent of a copper alloy in a series of wires that birds resided upon. Unlike Snowheart, she had blue eyes that remained chilled and steady upon the visage like a solid snake. While this woman had the same hat as the one in front, the latter had hair that was purple with some white stripes running about. Upon her corpulent frame were some dull green textiles from head to toe already being overlaid by a dark brown jacket. Snowheart simply stared about and slowly spoke out, “oh… hey, Sweetheart…” “What’s wrong, Snowy…?” the eponymous listener had asked, “is something the matter with you…?” “It must be that troublemaker from before: he’s been leaving me some crap one too many times in my mailbox…” the bright woman groaned in frustration, taking out a piece of paper from her jacket quickly in due time. As some flyers were found within the owner’s grasp, the observer then inquired, “who exactly, Snowy…?” “It has to be that damned drifter from yesterday…” Snowheart answered only about slowly as she showed Sweetheart the paper, “he must have seen me getting off the bus to town right around last night…” “Are you sure about that; didn’t his ad said ‘your eyes were blue’ or something?” the dark skinned woman had only asked about within an instant. The bright woman scoffed in anger and interrupted, “that’s besides the point: my eyes are green, not blue; I’m betting that he must be colorblind…!” “But what if he was referring to Redheart instead…?” Sweetheart had soon said at once, “aren’t her eyes blue…?” “Yes, but she’s probably dating Doctor Monitor or Nurse Turner; besides, for all I know, he might even be referring to Tenderheart instead…” Snowheart answered as she rubbed her forehead. The dark skinned woman made an approach to the bright woman only slowly and replied, “not at all: the Doctor is still busy trying to take care of his patients like we all are and Turner is still dating Ditzy or so I’ve heard; besides, Tenderheart wouldn’t even be in the mood for romance anytime soon…” "In that case, why me…?" Snowheart groaned instantly, “the last time I came close to letting a man, let alone anyone, pardon my expletive, fuck me, he got shot up in the dick back when I went to Horseshoe Bay on vacation…!” “Don’t let the past dissuade you: he’s probably just a nice guy, that’s all; I’ve had my share of nice guys…” Sweetheart sighed at once while plastering a small smile upon the visage. Looking away all at once, the bright woman replied, “how can you be sure about that, Sweetheart…?” "Huh…?" said the eponymous listener as she could barely feel the anger radiating from her friend's body despite facing the opposite corner as if their faces were like repelling magnets, “what do you mean by it, Snowy…?” “I’m just saying… you weren’t there on that night like I was: the attire he'd worn, the unshaven look, the air of raw sewage; I think he’s from the outskirts of the city capital or something like that, not to mention that he reminds of that could–be slipper thief Rainbow Dash…” Snowheart answered at once. As the bright woman soon exhaled, Sweetheart had inquired, “anywhere in particular to be precise…?” "How could I know?" Snowheart replied softly to her dark skinned colleague at once, “as far as I’ve been able to recall, this small town isn’t really that well known save for the local heroics courtesy of the Elements of Harmony here and there once in a while. My best guess would be from somewhere up north; the capital where the Princesses live isn’t very bright and regal now that I remembered but that’s only due to distance on the account of having to take the train from here to Canterlot. Of course, that would mean he would be living around these parts of the country somehow; then again, he doesn’t seem to be one of the locals around here like I'd said earlier…” “Well then, in any case it’s almost time for work so it's best that I get going; see you later…” Sweetheart said as she soon walked away at once; at that point onward, a full beat of silence emerges around the two, as if there was nothing to be elaborated upon anyway. Snowheart soon found herself sighing at once, “take care…” At that moment in time, the bright skinned woman then took another glance at the paper sheet within her very hands. Surely the intense look that she had just given it would have already meant well enough to cause annoyance; of course, this was nothing new to say in the very least whatsoever. As she started to crumple up the paper all at once, she decided to throw it away into the trash can; that act alone should have ended the whole ordeal whatsoever which it has in her jaded eyes. "Hey, Snowheart…" someone else exclaimed, “what are you doing…?” The bright skinned woman turned to face the speaker only to find another person: like the former, the latter was a thin and brightly complexional individual of the same gender and attire; of course, even they had their differences. Like Snowheart and Sweetheart, this woman had even possessed an eye color that was of a cold tone: circled cleanly around the pupils were but a rich yet humble shade of purple. The individual’s hair was of the same style as the dark skinned colleague, albeit completely green like the grass that grew slowly in the sunlight above them. Even so, her clothes were dyed in a rich shade of blue, darker than Snowheart's hair. “Nothing much, Tenderheart; what brings you here…?” she'd asked, facing the aforementioned colleague at once. Tenderheart replied within instantaneously, “Doctor Monitor is going to be starting the surgery soon; he needs us both to come on over to the operation room with Redheart immediately…” "Understood…" Snowheart replied, walking on over alongside her fellow colleague at once, “let’s go…”
