"Are you sure you did the project like Mrs. Cheerilee asked, Vinyl?” the cream colored girl questioned the girl with spiky, electric-blue hair and pale skin, giving her a stern look.
She nods and resumes looking at her phone instantly.
She keeps talking, but I barely pay any attention. My head was somewhere else. Yesterday at home, I was reading a story that Lyra was going on about. And I have been thinking about it since then. The story was about an English girl who wanted for women to have rights. And by coincidence, she finishes working for a mysterious man whom no one knows a lot about. While working for him, she starts learning more about him and even begins to develop feelings for him.
And I have a suspicion he might like her back ...
For people to be that lucky, I'm so envious.
"Yo... Earth to planet Derpy ..."
I wake up from my daydream when I feel someone hugging me from behind, almost making me fall to the floor. And that's why, ladies and gentlemen, I don't wear heels to school.
"Did you read the story I told you about? Beautiful isn't it?" a feminine voice says right in my ear, her minty-green medium length hair falling onto my shoulder as she rested her head there.
A nervous smile crept on my lips, "Y-Yeah .... "
"Awww..." She gets misty eyed and hugs me, "It’s nice to know that one of my bestest friends is liking my favorite story. The next part will be getting you hooked on manga and anime. Oh Derpy, we will have so much to talk about!" With that, her grip tightens and it feels like my life is draining from my body.
Quickly, a tanned hand pushes us away from each other and I was able to catch my breath again.
"You're so mean, Bon-Bon. I was only talking to Derpy-chan" she says with a pout.
Bon-Bon crosses her arms, "More like killing her. If you're gonna kill someone Lyra, in the very least make it painless and instant" she glares at Lyra then turns to me petting my head. "Are you okay Derpy?" her voice soft and serene. I returned her gesture with a smile.
Oh, right! Where are my manners? I’m getting ahead of myself. Allow me to introduce everyone.
My name is Ditzy Doo Hooves (though I don't like for people to say 'Hooves'. It’s personal). I'm seventeen years old and I am a student at Canterlot High.
The girl with the spiky hair is Vinyl, we’ve known each other since elementary school, and like me, she is seventeen. She can be a bit of a ‘woman of few words,’ but when she is with us, or being a DJ in a party, she can be a supernova, a hyper, and cheerful girl.
The serious girl with long charcoal colored hair is Octavia. She is an intelligent and amazing cellist, her mantra is 'Life is not about learning how to play the strings. But rather, about the harmony it emits,' she is usually fighting with Vinyl since Vy can be a bit...absent minded.
Lyra, whom I have already talked some about, has an obsession for anything mythological, anime, manga, and novels. She is quite nice, so long as she isn't in fangirl mode.
Then, last but not least, we have Bon-Bon. Her soft, cobalt blue and light fuchsia curly hair might make her look sweet, but she can be really scary and easily annoyed by anyone. But, deep inside her heart, she really is sweet and like a mother to us.
Bon-Bon and Lyra do complement each other often. I do hope they end up together, especially since Lyra has a crush on her. It’s a long story on how I learned about that.
"So, do you guys have the things for our HQ?" Vinyl smiled while taking out a silver key from her white and black messenger bag.
"Yeah, Lyra and I spent all night doing the dessert since it was complicated," Bon-Bon said, raising a hand to her mouth as she let out a long yawn.
Vinyl and I look at each other grinning. Lyra instantly blushes madly, "Y-You aren't gonna give me a break, are you?" she says, lowering her eyes.
Bon-Bon gives us a confused look, but after a moment, we burst out laughing.
"N-N ...never... g-gets... old," we all say in unison.
We start walking toward the third building, talking and laughing like crazy women, causing everyone else to look at us with a mixture of alarmed and bewildered expressions.
It never gets old.
We arrive at the third building of the school. Only a few people know about its existence since it is far away from the other two buildings of the school. And those that do know about it, think the building is haunted because it’s abandoned. Either that or because of the music Octavia plays here during the free hours. Uncultured riff-raff who don't appreciate the elegance of classical music.
Using the silver key from before, Vinyl opens the door and we all go in. We turn the lights on to reveal our hide-out.
The place was decorated and furnished, thanks to the summer jobs they all worked. A white refrigerator that I bought with my allowance, a medium sized kitchen set, and even a TV and a DJ table. Vinyl must have placed it during summer and probably spent some nights here setting it all up. I was glad that nobody ventured out here, otherwise, we would have to share our little piece of heaven in this drudgery we call a school.
"My babies!" Lyra says, running toward the wine colored couch and taking one of the mangas that were placed, in alphabetical order, in the nightstand next to it.
Octavia lowers her cello case and stretches out her shoulders and arms as she sits down. "Finally, my back was killing me." Then her eyes widen. "Oh my, I forgot to tell you all something! Everyone, please sit down. I have a juicy rumor that I have to tell you all about! And it will blow your minds away."
Everyone sat down near Octavia, except for me. With a sigh, I wonder why do people like to hear some stupid stuff about someone else's life?
"It’s about Dr.Whooves," she says in a sing-song voice with a smirk.
Well, if it is about him then... I guess I could stand to hear a bit. Just a little, I don't know if it is urgent. I take a seat next to Octavia.
"Now that everyone is here, let me begin." She takes a deep breath, "I heard from a friend of my mother's that Doc lives on Blue street and that–"
I let out a groan under my breath. Was that all it was?
"–and that he might have a crush for someone who is dear to him. And one day, plans to marry that girl if she returns his feelings. Also, apparently he likes girls that are younger than him. Although, I can't say what age exactly, but I'll try to find out more." She then turns to me, her light purple eyes fixed on my reddened cheeks. "He owns a two story, light cream colored, rustic house with a big garden and owns a luxurious black car," she smirks. "If you need more info on him just let me know, ok?"
I was going to argue her comment, but the faint sound of the school bell startled all of us.
"Shoot!" Bon-Bon glares but picks up her backpack. "I have to go. See ya here at lunch time." Vinyl opens the door and she goes off running like a bull on a stampede.
"Wow... Scary..." Lyra said, getting up and picking up her purse.
"Well, that's your girl there Ly," I say smiling getting up as well.
We all left and went straight to our classes.
"So, we are free, aren't we?" I ask sitting on a chair in the secluded part of the library.
Vinyl nods while looking at her phone, "Yeah... Crazy how fast things went back to normal after the whole 'Friendship Games' nonsense." Putting away her phone, she continues, "I'm glad everything is back to normal. No more magical thingies, no more Sunset Shimmer to mess with us. Even now, I still don't trust her..."
I nod, "Indeed... What she did to us was horrible. Convincing everyone that you were a mute lesbian... Nothing against them, but telling everyone you were one and ruining your chance with Note was just awful." I rest my head against the cool wooden table. "Still, we can't hurt her since we’d be no better than she was. We have to just—"
"—tolerate her," Vinyl replied, finishing my sentence for me. "Also, we have better things to do, like–" then whispering in my ear, "–getting you with the good Doctor, down and dir—"
As I cover her mouth with my hand to silence her, she gives it a thorough lick. "Ewww, gross Vy!" I wipe my hand on my jeans to get it clean, or, at least, dry, "Don't talk like that about him! He is a gentleman, not some stupid buck-boy."
"It’s said f#$k-boy. Why are you so hesitant to say ‘bad’ words? Everyone uses them from time to time." She then fixes her gaze upon me. "He is a guy, they have needs, even if he denies it and-" a smirk spreads across her lips, "-every guy has a fantasy of being with a young, teenage girl. And you, milady, are one. And like the girl code states: 'Help your girl get—"
I give her my best glare.
"—the man. So, I have to help make that happen for you." She gives a long look at my long, golden hair that is braided on a high ponytail. "Let's fix that hair, shall we?" She gets up from her chair, and begins working on my hair.
She was nice and gentle with my hair, being careful to not hurt me. After about ten or so minutes, she finishes.
"Done, and now you're cuter than one of those video game characters." She places her hands on her hips, "The first part of my job here is done. Now, remember to stay calm and be as Derp as you can!" She shouts, making everyone shush her. "Oh f@#k off!"
I smile nervously until the school's intercom sounds,"Ditzy Doo report to Dr.Whooves office at once."
Vinyl raises her fist, "Let's go Derpy!" she says and pushes me toward the library's exit door.
After entering the office, we are greeted by a wooden door that stated 'Time Turner Whooves: School Psychologist', I gulped.
"Ready, Derpy?" Vinyl all fired up with excitement and gumption. "Remember Derpy," she opens the door and pushes me forward. "All's fair in love and war!" Then closes the door, running away and gaining some scolds from the secretary.
"Good Morning Miss Doo."
I look up and am met with a pair of kind, dark blue eyes.
"How are you doing today?" he asks with a smile. His smile is so bright that it made my heart feel like it was melting.
