"This is the most embarrassing thing I have ever done!" I screamed in my mind. I was sitting on my couch at my computer, writing an MLP fan fiction about seeing into the future, and it was legitimately the worst thing I had ever read. As I sat there, I wondered why I had even bothered trying to write one, after just watching Azekahh read "Twi and me" a few minutes earlier. I wanted to just sit back, and relax, and re-listen to "Big adventure, tons of fun" again, but that only made me feel disgusting, considering I was 6 days away from my birthday, and turning 17.
-30 days later-
I recently discovered all of my emotional problems went a hell of a lot deeper than a few bullies in middle school. So, in order to stop them going deeper, I just shut everything else out for about three days. you have NO Idea the kinds of things that happened in my brain those days. First, I developed a theory on what was "there" before the big bang, which I won't delve too deep into, it's really complex. next, I developed a unifying theory for both quantum, and large-scale physics. And finally, I discovered something that could actually be used for something other than to ask more questions… I developed a theory on faster than light travel. It sounds INSANE, I know, considering I'm only fifteen, but that’s not even half of what happened the next month and a half.
-Two days later-
Note taped to door that said, "HI! Am I using this interdimentional-thingy ma booper right?" and in a considerably smaller font size, "YES PINKIE." I figured that it was one of my parents playing a trick on me, but then I remembered that I hadn't told ANYONE about the fact that I was a brony.
-Three days later-
Woke up with strange headache, and saw a bright, yellow light, briefly appear, then disappear on my mirror-door closet. These strange lights started showing up everywhere, but it seemed like nopony, wait, did I just think that? hmm, well, noONE seemed to notice them but me.
-Next Day-
Had a strange dream… one of the lights opened up and showed me an image of… ponyville. Then I woke up, and saw it, a large, open yellow oval on my mirror, with a picture of ponyville, just like in my dream, and that’s when it started getting weird. An excited Applebloom started jumping across the middle of the road, followed by a swift Applejack, who then proceeded to scoop her up and take her inside one of the buildings, Sugarcube corner to be exact. I was so stunned that I almost disregarded the whole thing, but then I had an idea. I had just played portal 2 the other day, and couldn't help but notice the uncanny resemblance to the portals from the game, so, I got dressed, and went through.
"Hello? Applejack? Applebloom? Anypony!?" No answer. I turned around, half expecting the portal to still be there, but, as I feared, it had disappeared. I did catch sight of something interesting though, I saw a hooded pony, heading from building to building. "this looks an awful lot like that episode where they meet Zecora to me- oh. I had just really woken up, and had the realization of what had happened. I was in Ponyville, in one of the season one episodes! I ran over to the hooded zebra.
"Hey, Zecora!" She looked at me, an obvious look of sheer bewilderment struck on her face.
"Who is this pony in front of me, a colt of pure mystery?" Zecora said. Something that the zebra said didn't seem right, then it struck me, she said "Who is this PONY." I turned and looked backwards, and I saw a picture of a Bohr's model atom on my "flank." It hadn't even occurred to me that I was on all fours.
"Uuuh, My name's, uuuh, ummm, Atom… Fizz! Yeah, Atom Fizz." I thought it was rather clever, being that it applied to my interest for chemistry (Atom) and Physics (Fizz)
"Well then pony, Atom Fizz, can you tell me where everypony is?" Zecora asked.
"Umm, you better let me talk to them, I think they're wrongfully afraid of you." I said. I noticed that the way I formed sentences was Much more nice and friendly, and less full of regret, than on earth. I also was curious as to why my brain was adapting so well to the ponyville environment, I figured it would be a bit traumatizing, but, I handled it as if it were just an everyday thing.
I slowly approached the Sugarcube corner door, and knocked. As I expected, there wasn't an answer. "Hey Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy? You guys in there? My name is Atom Fizz, And I'm here to help." I couldn't help but notice how I didn't even think twice about using Atom Fizz as my name, I just guessed that I had chosen really well.
Just then, the door opened, and I was greeted by six drop-jawed ponies, and a sleeping spike. "Who in the hay are you, and how do you know our names?" Applejack blurted out, but before I could answer, Pinkie Pie pulled me into the room, and shut the door.
"Like I said a few seconds ago, my name is Atom Fizz, and I'm here to help. Before you guys get any answers, let me just say that that 'scary pony' outside, is just a zebra -- a different type of pony -- and she's trying to find some herbs to use, but everypony in town shuts and locks their doors, and she just gets disappointed. So, once you go out there and apologize, I will give you some answers."
"Uuuh, alright, so, uuuh, okay." Rainbow Dash said, just speaking for the first time. The rest of the ponies were still a bit slack-jawed, but their mouths had closed a bit. I slowly opened the door, and beckoned them outside. With the six wary ponies behind me, I felt an odd sense of leadership, but I sensed something different than respect coming from the ponies, fear. All but Twilight Sparkle. She just seemed… curious.
About a minute and a half later, we were standing in front of Zecora, and then Pinkie Pie broke the silence, as always. "HI There miss zebra! I'm really really really really sorry about making up a song about you cooking us into a stew!" I face…. hoofed. Still a little weirded out by my ponification.
That’s when Zecora Burst into laughter. "I dare say, and now can I ask something, If I may?" Zecora said, still giggling between every other word.
"Umm, sure!" Said Pinkie.
"Very well then, my little filly, where is everypony, hiding is silly."
"Well, Everypony is inside the buildings with locked doors because they thought you were evil." I facehoofed again, and went to the town hall, while Pinkie continued her vague conversation with Zecora. I opened the door and yelled,
"Okay everypony! unless you want to have to stay locked up in here for the rest of your lives, I'd suggest you come out and apologize to Zecora, the NON-evil zebra." Again, I was surprised how fast I had started using pony terminology. "Trust me, you don't want to see her bad side."
-A few minutes later-
I lead everypony back to the spot where Pinkie was showing Zecora her song about stew. "Hey there Zecora, I brought the whole town with me, now you can explain exactly what you're doing here in ponyville, so that nopony else stares through boarded windows, wondering what you're doing." I said, in a mildly sarcastic tone.
"Hello people of ponyville, I'm sorry that I scared you, I am simply looking, for some fresh bershrew."
Bershrew? I thought, what's that? As if somepony had read my mind, man I was even thinking in their language, a pony with a blue coat, and a lighter blue mane, and a harp as her cutie mark, jumped in the air and yelled, "OOOOHH I KNOW WHAT THAT IS, IT'S A RARE ORANGE FLOWER FROM THE EVERFREE FOREST!! PICK ME!! I HAVE SOME!!"
Yup, that was Lyra. I facehoofed, again. The thing that Zecora said next was probably even more strange than me being turned into a pony. "Yes it is, a flower of orange, it was that that I failed to forage." I couldn't believe it, my jaw was literally dropped, almost hurting by how far it was stretched, she had just rhymed something with orange. I was dumbstruck. I quickly shut my mouth after pretending to yawn, as if it was no big deal.
"Well, Zecora, thank you for not being angry at the residents of Ponyville, we're all truly sorry." I said, hoping not to provoke said angry response.
"Very well, I shall come, I hope we meet again, and what's more, I would like to say, I now consider you all my friends." Zecora started walking with Lyra, while Lyra was obviously asking about the different types of plant and animal life from Zecoras' home land.
"Well, as I promised, you six are going to get answers now." I pointed in the direction of Sugarcube Corner, and we started walking.
"Alright," I said, "You are probably wondering how I knew you're names, even though we've never met." They all nodded, except for Twilight, which gave me the sense that she already knew everything I was going to say. So, I decided to mix it up a bit, throw in a few things she didn't understand, so that she would get interested. "Let me start from the beginning. I come from a different world. One without magic, as far as our civilization knows. As Ponies are the dominant species here, Humans are the dominant species there, and we are the only life form that can form coherent thoughts." Twilight's' ears and head perked up a little bit. "I, am a human." This caught them off guard. "I was a scientist, someone who tries to understand the way things work. You probably have scientists here too. But, my world works differently than yours does. The biggest difference is that there is no magic. Another is that everything works on its own, and does not require anyone, as humans say it, to control anything."
All six of them took a step back and sat down, even Twilight, but she was different, she was interested, not weirded out. "Anyways, perhaps the weirdest thing, is that two years ago, in my world, a television show- like watching pictures move and talk- came out that was titled 'My Little Pony; Friendship Is Magic' and it was about a young pony named Twilight Sparkle,"
I paused, and she gasped. "And her five best friends that go on adventures to learn invaluable lessons on the importance of friendship." At that, all six of them nearly fainted as the realization of what I was saying hit them. "I was a very large fan of the show, in fact, I watched it every Sunday- the day it aired." I saw that they were starting to grasp the concept.
"And one day, I found a note on my bedroom door that read, and I quote, 'HI! Am I using this interdimentional thingy-ma booper right?' then, in a smaller size group of words, 'YES PINKIE.'" At hearing her name, she raised her head and said "HERE!" Definitely not for the last time, I face-hoofed. Speaking up for the first time, Rarity said,
"So, You're telling us that you are not a pony, even though you ARE a pony."
"Yeah, I know I'm as confused by it as-" I was then interrupted by her.
"A rather, Dashing pony."
"aahahaha, thanks. But, I'm a gentlecolt." I said.
"Well I am a lady" she said proudly. "And so are all of my friends here."
"Exactly." I replied. She looked taken aback, then she stomped her hoof, and grunted. Fluttershy then spoke,
"So, umm, if it's okay with you, can I say something?"
"Always," I replied.
"Ohh, how nice, um thank you. But, um, what you're saying is that humans all over your world, are, umm, watching us?" her voice had slowly turned into a squeak, I honestly felt bad for her, I knew she was shy and sensitive.
"I'm sorry, but yes." I said, with a bit of sadness.
"But," I said, and she looked at me with a bit of hope.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I'm from that other world, and the show currently is taking place in your future, but by me being here, this no longer follows the storyline of the episode that took place at this time in Equestria." I said.
"Oh, well, that’s good." she said, trying to hide her obvious relief. I noticed something shift to my right, and Twilight stood up and walked towards me. The she spoke, honestly it wasn't what I expected to hear. I expected her to say something like "I don't believe you." or, "Prove it." But what she said instead was,
"Don't humans normally wear clothes?" I was so struck by the words, that all I said was,
"Umm, yeah, why?"
"Did you come here dressed?" she said,
"Yeah, why…"
"Well then where did they go?"
I expected to have a negative epiphany, and notice that I was naked, and blush, but actually, I just said, "Probably the same reason I was able to turn into a Pony in the first place." Then, she said,
"Oh, that actually makes sense. So, you were a scientist?"
"Yeah, I was, a theoretical physicist, I thought of things that no other humans had. Of course I wasn't recognized by the public. I am the same age as you, after all." I replied.
"Oh, you are?" She smiled and walked back.
"But, moving on, I need a place to stay, and I don't have any Equestrian currency, so I can't rent a house, so, are any of you willing to lend me a few nights in one of your houses?" Applejack was the first to speak.
"Y'know, I would if I could, but we're already up to our necks in ponies and apples. I'm sorry." Then came Fluttershy,
"I'm really, really, sorry, but I've got several patients, and they're taking up all of my bed space."
"It's okay Fluttershy." I said. Next up was Rainbow Dash,
"Well, I honestly would if I could, but, you're a Unicorn, not a Pegasus, and you can't walk on clouds." This struck me a bit. It had never occurred to me what type of pony I was. Then came Pinkie Pie. I just let her ramble, as I knew what she was going to say.
"Look, Pinkie… Considering everything I've been through, I'm really not in the mood for a party, I'm sorry." She looked disheartened for a second, but she perked up again and said,
"Oh that’s okay! I understand!" I doubt that, I thought. Then it was Rarity, but with her previous statement, I wasn't really planning on staying with her.
"I'm sorry dear, but I'm simply much too busy to accommodate another pony" Then she winked. I half expected her to mouth the words "call me" but she just stared, trying to be seductive, and I facehoofed, at that, she turned around and grunted with her forelegs crossed, and blew her hair out of her face in a very frustrated manner. So that left Twilight.
"Well, Twilight, can you?" She beamed, and said
"Yes! Oh sweet Celestia, I'm gonna have a sleepover with a trans-species pony! Oh, Lyra is gonna be so jealous!" I was really excited to go, with her advanced knowledge of magic, and my advanced knowledge of Terran-universal-physics, we could maybe explain this whole thing! I knew that that was probably what she had planned. Assuming she had made a plan that fast.
"So, Twilight, what do you make of this whole ordeal?" I said, as we walked towards the library house.
"I imagine… It probably has to do with your interests at heart, which is the focus of most magic. But then there's the note on your door. I can't explain time travel between universes. How about you?" She said.
"Well, I've been thinking about a term we have on earth, called a paradox, in which someone-well somepony" I smiled "Travels back in time, and causes a series of events, that lead to that same person traveling back, and I thought that maybe sometime in the future, we'll find a way to send that note to my door, and start the series of events that lead to me coming here." I said. I Immediately realized my mistake of saying "we'll" and I hoped she didn't notice.
"So," She said, "What do you think we should do first?"
"I don't know, what did you have on your list?"
"How did you know about my list- oh. that’s right."
"Don't worry Twi, NOTHING embarrassing has ever come on to the show, its target is children."
"Hey, thanks Atom."
"You're welcome, Twi." She turned her head to her left, at the same time I looked to my right, and we locked eyes. We both blushed and quickly looked away. "Umm, let's just keep walking…" Twi said.
Fairly soon we could see her library tree house. Once inside I saw that Spike was already here, organizing some scrolls, on one of the lower shelves on the bookshelves. "Should I?" I whispered to Twilight.
"Yeah, definitely." it was as if she knew exactly what I was going to say.
"Hey there Spike. You like organizing?" He froze. And I saw that Twilight was trying to suppress a laugh.
"wh-who's th-th-there?" he asked, he was obviously terrified. Twilight couldn’t hold it in anymore, She burst out laughing, and I just said "It’s okay Spike, I'm only messing with you." Snickering while I said it.
"Twiliiiiiight, what the hay?" I couldn't tell if he knew that another pony was there. He turned around and his face drained of almost all of its natural flush green. "Who is th-this?" He stammered as if he was afraid of me being there.
"Don't worry Spike, I'm not ghost or anything, im just from out of town. My name is Atom Fizz. I'll only be here for a couple of days."
"Atom F-Fizz?" Spike asked, still a little shaken. "Twilight, he's gonna bring down all these bookshelves, it happens every time somepony comes over!" I laughed a little.
"Don't worry Spike, I already knew, and I'm already prepped to be extra careful." "You already knew? How? I thought you said you were new?" Twilight was the one to answer.
"We'll explain tomorrow, Spike, just go and get some rest. You did a wonderful job on the library today."
"Alright, just, don't go pulling down any bookshelves." "Good night, Spike." She said.
-Ten Minutes Later-
"He falls asleep that fast?" I asked. His snoring already distinct from the crickets outside.
"Yup, he spends every day cleaning and repairing the library, what do you expect?"
I couldn't argue, she had a very good point. "So," I said, breaking the awkward silence, that had slowly crept in, despite the annoying noises coming from Spike. "What's first on your sleepover plan?" I stifled a laugh, I sounded like an excited seven year old.
"First in order, I think, is to teach you how to use magic, considering you are a Unicorn." Now I was really stunned, Not only was the fact that I was a Unicorn amazing, it also implied that I had the ability to use magic. A concept which I had previously thought impossible.
"Uhh, Oh, yeah, let's do that." I said. Still in a little shock.
"Alright, let me get my basic spells book." Soon after, (Unfortunately, while getting the book, Twilight managed to knock down one of the shelves) we were sitting down in the middle of the library, and Twilight was giving me a lecture on starting to use magic.
"The key, is to think of what you want to happen." She said.
"Check." I replied.
"You need to have a visualization of the act, and then focus energy, sort of like flexing a muscle, to your horn. It can be a bit hard for beg-"
Then I opened my eyes, and I couldn't really see very well. there was a bright yellow flowing light, emanating from above my head. It shone brighter and brighter, until it started pouring out searchlight-like beams that shot out in all directions, until in a flash of brilliant yellow light, it subsided.
"Umm, Twilight?"
"Yeah, Atom?"
"What was that?"
"I don't know."

PREVIOUSLY, ON THE ATOM FIZZ CHRONICLES
"Twilight?"
"Yeah, Atom"
"What was that?"
"I don't know..."
NOW...
Several sleepless hours had passed since... The event. Which as it turns out, is something that only happens when a Unicorn has mastered the use of their magic, which, after some brainstorming, always lead us back to the thought, that I had already known how to use magic.
The problem was, that I didn't believe in magic from my universe, so that left a wide gap. I was the first to talk. "Let me try something." What I wanted to do, was to try to use magic to bring something over here, like, I don't know, a book. It didn't even require any effort, it was as if I could just bring over anything. Next, I tried to teleport, I focused on moving myself from on place to another, but all I did was levitate myself.
"Umm, Atom?" She asked
"Yeah, Twilight?" I replied.
"Shouldn't we be trying to figure this out?" She asked.
"Oh, yeah, that. Well, I do have an idea, but, it could use a bit of constructive criticism." I said.
"Hit me, not.. literally." I couldn't tell if she was joking, so I didn't laugh. All I said was, "I would never hit you. Ever." She smiled and blushed, and looked down and to her left.
"But anyways," Her gaze shifted back to me, "My idea, is that we send a letter to the Princess, asking for an audience with her and the Royal Court." She contemplated, and after a mildly long silence, she spoke.
"It seems like a good Idea, but when going to Canterlot, it's very important that you wear clothing, and look formal, meaning we will have to go to Rarity's boutique."
"Umm, Twi, is there anywhere else we could go, anywhere at all?" she looked at me with a questioning gaze,
"No, not really, if you want to actually look nice." Crap.
"Great, well, let's go, and get it over with."
"Rarity!" Twilight yelled, "Open the door, it's important!" Finally the door opened and Rarity appeared.
"Oh hello deary, what do you nee- oh. you're here." She said, in a sudden change of tone.
"Look, Rarity, we don't have time for this, we're going to go to Canterlot, and I need to look presentable."
"Canterlot!" She beamed. "But, you are going to have to pay for the clothing." She said, ruining my hopes.
"Look, Rarity, I'm sorry, but it's a bit urgent, and considering what I've been through, and how I don't have any money, I don't think it's exactly fair to ask me to pay, but, I will pay later, when I can. If I can." I said, then she sighed.
"Alright, well, lets get you a suit." A few minutes later I was fitted with the most amazing tuxedo I had ever seen.
"Wow, Rarity, this is amazing!" I said "I don't know how I could thank you enough!" After a few exchanged words between the three of us, Twilight and I headed back to the tree house.
Spike was awake, cleaning up the fallen bookshelf from last night. "Hey, sorry about that Spike..." We both said at the same time. He was silent.
"Could you maybe do us a favor, it's just to dictate a letter to Princess Celestia." I said. He looked at me, a bit surprised.
"Uhh, yeah, I guess." After getting a scroll and quill ready, Spike said, "Ready."
"Okay," I replied. "Dear Princess Celestia. My name, is Atom Fizz. I request an audience with your royal highness, and I am staying with your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, at the PonyVille library."
"Done." Spike said.
"Please send it." I replied.
Spike blew a green flame on to the closed parchment, and it vanished. "I guess all we have to do is wait." I said. A few minutes later, Spike choked, and spit out a closed parchment, and read it.
"Dear Atom Fizz, I have considered your request, and have decided to allow it. A chariot is on it's way to take you to Canterlot at this very moment."
-A few minutes earlier, at the Canterlot Royal Court-
Celestia was looking out through the large window to the right of her throne. And at this moment, wondering what Twilight Sparkle was doing. Probably out on an adventure, to learn the importance of friendship. Just then, a burst of green flame in front of her startled her, but then she saw that it was only a piece of parchment tied shut, obviously sent by Spike, based on the green flame. It was probably one of Twilight's' learnings on the importance of friendship.
But when she opened it, it read, "Dear Princess Celestia. My name, is Atom Fizz. I request an audience with your royal highness, and I am staying with your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, at the PonyVille library." She was awestruck, she thought she would never hear that name again, but there it was. As clear as day. A tear slowly ran down her cheek.
"Guard! Please bring me a Quill and Parchment!" She yelled. The tears flowing at a steadier rate.
"I have them, your highness." The guard said.
"Thank you." She said.
"Hmf." said the guard, in a formal way, which she had learned to know was to stand for "You're welcome." She began to write with her magic. She looked it over, checking for any errors. "Dear Atom Fizz, I have considered your request, and have decided to allow it. A chariot is on it's way to take you to Canterlot at this very moment." It looked fine. She cast the spell to send it to spike, and waited.
"Yes, it worked!" I said. "Thank you spike, here let me get this bookshelf for you." I was feeling extremely generous, and lifted all the books back into their sorted position in a few seconds. We talked about the usual things that happen in Ponyville. And eventually, we heard a whinnying outside.
"That's us." Twilight said.
"Uhh, Twilight, are these chariots... safe?" I asked.
"Um, well, kinda. There's always the danger of falling out, but it's a magic rule of nature that if you fall, something catches you."
"Oh, That's reassuring." I said. Twilight giggled. Soon, we were up in the air, standing in the chariot, on our way to Canterlot. In about fifteen minutes, we arrived at the entrance to the castle, where Celestia would be waiting.
"This is beautiful." I said as we entered, and slowly made our way i front of Celestia's throne
Celestia waited, for what seemed like hours, even though she knew that a chariot ride from Ponyville to Canterlot only took around 15 minutes. Then, finally, a colt in an amazing tuxedo, and a purple mare came through the entrance to her court. They made their way, slowly, to her throne, and bowed. She opened her wings, and came to rest in front of them. She spoke. "Welcome, Twilight Sparkle, Atom Fizz." She suppressed a tear after she said his name.
Twilight and I bowed in front of Celestia, and she flew down in front of us. "Welcome, Twilight Sparkle, Atom Fizz." She said. "Now, will you please tell me what this is about?" I spoke.
"Hello, your highness, I have come to ask for your assistance in understanding, a rather, troubling matter."
I was surprised at how calm, and... royal, my voice sounded. "And what is that?" said Celestia.
"I am from a different world, far different from Equestria." I explained how I had gotten here, and what had happened since I had.
"I see." She said. "So, you had knowledge of magic.. Before you came to Equestria?" She asked.
"Actually, no, back in my world, I had completely tossed away the thought of magic even existing." I said. She thought for a second.
"Well then, that leaves only one explanation, you had been sent to that world before you were sent back here." She said. I was taken aback.
"But how is that possible!" I yelled. I looked at Twilight, who was stunned, probably by the fact that I had yelled at the princess.
"Calm Down! I don't know how it is possible. You must work to find out." She said, in a very stern voice, that made me shut up.
"Now. Please take off that tuxedo. Please." I was a little weirded out by that sentence, but I did so, without hesitation. "Now, start to focus your magic to your horn." I did so, and a yellow light emanated from my horn. Soon, the Princess started talking. "Welcome home, Atom, It's good to see you again." I was in shock. As everyone was silent, I looked around the room. Something seemed missing. Then I thought of it. The stained glass window, showing the six friends, with their elements, defeating Discord.
"Oh, no." I said out loud. Twilight looked at me, wondering what I was talking about, but I needed to do something. "Princess!" I yelled. "Where are the Elements of Harmony!?" I was screaming by the time I reached the last word.
"What, why?" Said Celestia.
"WE NEED THEM TO STOP DISC---" I was too late. A deep voiced laugh enveloped the room, and said,
"Oh dear, did I interrupt something?" It continued to laugh. "I'm sooo sorry. I hope I'm not too much trouble. Anger enveloped me.
"Step out of the shadows, Discord!" After I said that, Discord materialized in front of me.
"Oh, are you angry?" He said, mocking me. then He laughed. I said something in a voice so intense that it silenced him.
"Shut up. Where are the elements."
He spoke in my head. 'Oh, did I offend you?' He laughed, so that everyone can hear. "Get out of my head. Anything you can mock me with can be heard by the people in this room." then Celestia spoke up.
"Discord!" She yelled it, then started running at him, horn first, a bright yellow light coming from it. I took note in the midst of my rage, that it was the same color as my magic.
"No, no, nooo." Discord snapped his fingers, and Celestia froze, I looked at her hoofs, and saw that they had been turned into stone, and it was slowly creeping up her body, until it reached the base of her neck, leaving her head free from the stone. Discord then turned to me, and said, "I like you, and you," pointing to Twilight. "And all of your friends. I've been watching you, on all your little adventures, learning about the importance of friendship."
Twilight only glared. "So, I might as well give you a chance." He snapped his fingers, and the other five of the mane six teleported here.
"Oh, Hi! Who are you?" Pinkie said.
"Oh, Where are my manners?" Discord mocked "I'm Discord, your new ruler." He bowed. "But moving on, the elements are located exactly where they need to be. But first, let's play a game. All seven of you reach the center of that maze," he pointed out of the normal glass window. "And you'll be rewarded with the location of the Elements. But, you have to do it by sundown, that leaves you around, say, 6 hours, Oh, I'm so excited to see Equestria back in it's natural state of chaos."
He Smiled a wry smile, and snapped. In an instant, all seven of us were back in the chariot with Spike, "Whoa!" He said. Then the chariot started moving. Soon, we were at the entrance to the maze.
"oh, do we have to go in there?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yes." I said. "Okay everypony, I vote we should split up. But first, we need to establish a telepathic link."
"Can you do that?" Twilight asked.
"I think so. Everypony touch your head to the tip of my horn." I focused on making a link ability. Everypony touched their forehead to my horn, while it was glowing, and a glowing yellow fiber stretched from it to the place where they had each touched. I opened my eyes, and sealed the connection. The yellow strings shattered, in a brilliant yellow confetti. I thought something out from the tip of my horn. 'Can Everypony hear me? Oh, and the way you talk like this is to concentrate the thoughts of who you want to say the thoughts to, and all the thoughts on to the point where the connection was formed.' After that, I heard six voices in my head say 'Alright.'
'Then let's go.' I thought. We all walked in, and turned separate directions, Spike went with Twilight. 'You'll know you reached the center, when you see a large ornate fountain.' I thought to the group. 'Okay' six voices said at once.
-Applejack-
'Okay,' Applejack thought. "Ah still don't get how that works.' She said to herself. She came to a small clearing. There wasn't a fountain in it though, so it wasn't the center. She heard a low laugh. "Discord!" She said.
"Oh, how you know me so. Tell me. What do you think of your friends?"
"They're my best friends, what about it?"
"What do you think that they think about you?"
"Well, I guess I can be a bit harsh sometimes, but I'm always sorry, and they always forgive me."
"Oh, but what if they were lying? What if they've never forgiven you. Ever."
"Y-your lyin'"
"Well, then, ask these." all of a sudden, apples started falling from every tree in the clearing. the formed together in a pile, and spoke.
"We are the keepers of the grove of truth, you may ask one question."
"Alright, have my friends been lyin' to me?"
"Look into the pond, and find out." the bunch of apples said. She looked into the water, and saw one word pop up. "YES." She felt herself weaken, and fall to the ground.
"n-no, it can't be true." She felt all the color drain from her body. "Oh, but it is." Said Discord. She just lay down and sulked. Discord disappeared.
-Rarity-
'Okay,' Rarity thought. "I still don't understand those telepathic links." She came to a small clearing, with a large cliff face in front of her, it had a boulder sticking out of it's side. She thought she heard something say "it's a diamond" and she turned around to look for the source, but there was nothing there. She turned back around, and saw a large diamond stuck in the cliff. She pulled it out. She didn't need friends, she thought to herself, she had this diamond. All the color drained from her.
-Fluttershy-
'Um, okay.' She thought. "I don't think I can ever understand those things." She came upon a small clearing, filled with little woodland creatures. She beamed. "Oh, Hi all you little cute critters. You look awful lonely out here in this maze." Then, they all ran through the hedges. "No, don't go, we haven't made friends yet." She heard a deep voiced laugh.
"Remind you of anything?" It said.
"Discord!" She 'screamed'.
"Yes, yes, yes, it's me. But, did it?"
"No. it didn't."
"Ha, it reminded me of something. The way your 'friends' act. They laugh at you behind your back, and they hate it when your really quiet and shy. Just like those little cute critters. They're laughing at you, and calling you names. Fluttershy, Fluttershy, Fluttershy can hardly fly."
"No, Stop it!" She started to cry. All the color drained from her. and she kept crying in that clearing.
-Pinkie Pie-
'Okey-dokey-lokey!' She thought. "I wonder if this thing is like a party in your head?" she said. She found a small clearing. It was decorated like she would decorate it for a party. "OOOh, A party!" she went in the middle of the clearing, and started dancing. She heard a deep voiced laugh. "Ooooh, Hi! Are you here for the party?"
"Yes, I am. But do you know who isn't here?"
"Umm, Princess Luna?"
"Well, yes but-"
"I've got it! Photo Finish!"
"NO. All of your friends Pinkie. They didn't come to this party because they don't like your parties, they never have, and never will. Neither will Gummy, he just can't go anywhere else." Her mane straightened, and she let out a sigh. It wasn't that she believed the voice, it was that she didn't know how anypony could be so mean and pesomistic. she sat down and sulked.
-Rainbow Dash-
'Awesome!' She thought. "I wonder if I could fly as fast as the thoughts!" She said. She came to an open field, big enough to practice her tricks. She heard a deep voiced laugh.
"Go on then." It said. "Go ahead, practice. See if your 'friends' care. They don't like your tricks, they don't care about your obsession with the Wonderbolts, they aren't loyal to you at all."
"That's not true." Dash said. She started to flap her wings, ran, and took off.
"Uh, Uh, Uh... That's breaking the rules." He snapped his fingers, and Dash started to fall. She hit the ground with a thud. Luckily, she hadn't flown too high. "What was that for?"
"You broke the rules, by flying. So I took away everyone's oh, I'm sorry, everypony's ability. And the body part that allows it."
"Y-you, t-took away my wings?"
"And Fluttershy's wings. And Atom, Rarity, and Twilight's horns."
"That happened because of me?" She said, a tear welling up in her eye.
"Yes, all because of you." Rainbow couldn't handle it anymore. She started to cry, and the color drained from her body.
-Twilight Sparkle-
'Okay' She thought. "I wonder how he did something that advanced, in the short time that he's known how to use magic." She said. She found a clearing, and there was a large fountain in the center of it. 'Atom!' She thought. No response. 'Atom?' She thought again. He wasn't answering. Something was wrong. "Hey, Twilight?" "Yes, Spike?" "Where did your horn go?" Where did her horn go? That was odd, then she looked up, and it was missing. "Aaah! My horn!" She screamed. "That must be why I can't talk to Atom! His must be missing too!" She heard a deep voiced laugh.
"Right you are" It said.
"Discord!" He materialized in front of her.
"Well hello, so good to see you again."
"What did you do to my friends!?" She demanded.
"Oh, they're not hurt. But I can assure you, they're not getting here by sundown."
"What did you do?!" She screamed, Tears pouring from her eyes. "I simply took away the spirit of their elements."
"NO! Oh, whats the point. you win. Are you happy!?"
"Why, actually, yes, I am! Oh, Equestria, How I love the Chaos. And what's more, That Atom Fizz Character that you love so?"
"What about him."
"He doesn't love you, he thinks that you are an egghead, who reads too much." She knew it was a lie, but she just lay down, and let her sadness envelope her. "Yes, I Win! Equestria is mine!"
-Atom Fizz-
I couldn't see the point in walking anymore, we had taken up 5 of the 6 hours we had to find the center. But I at least had to find the others. I tried to use the telepathic link, but I saw the yellow strings form, go over the walls of the maze, and then retract into my horn. I looked up, but, my horn wasn't there. "What the..." Then I heard a deep voiced laugh.
"This way" it said. I knew which way I had to go, I don't know why I decided to follow it, but I knew it would lead me to something important. I walked towards it for about five minutes, and came to a clearing where I saw something I almost couldn't handle.
"Twilight!"
"DISCORD, WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
The Atom Fizz Chronicles: A Rising Terror
PREVIOUSLY, ON THE ATOM FIZZ CHRONICLES
"Twilight?"
"DISCORD, WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
I looked in horror at what lay in front of me, Twilight Sparkle was on the ground, all the color drained from her skin. I reached down and touched the side of her head gently. I heard sobbing, which at least means that she wasn't dead. "Spike, get over here!" I didn't hear a response. "Spike!"
"He went to go find the others." She said between sniffles. "You need to go with him. He's not safe on his own."
I thought about it, and the simple fact that she was making sense while under Discord's spell was enough to tell me that she was right. "Okay" I said. "I'll be back as soon as I can, hopefully with the others." She didn't respond, only pointed in the direction that Spike went. I sprinted.
I ran for about three minutes, before coming upon Spike talking to Rarity. "Rarity, listen to me, it is a rock!" He kept saying over and over again. I interjected.
"Rarity, my hoofs are gentle, I can tell you the quality of that massive diamond."
"Finally, someone who has some sense." She said. I walked up, and put my hoof on the boulder. I don't know how i did it, but I channeled magic through my body, kept my hoof on the boulder, and spoke in Rarity's ear.
"It is not a diamond." I took my hoof off the boulder and walked away from Rarity. Soon, she snapped out of it.
"What's this boulder doing here, and where are my friends?" All of the color went back into Rarity. Spike looked at me with amazement in his eyes.
"Rarity, Spike, let's go." I said. I led both of them back to the center, and said, "Stay in Twilight's line of vision."
"Alright" They both said. I ran off, and sprinted for around five minutes, and came to a large open field, and I saw Rainbow Dash lying a few feet ahead of me.
"Rainbow!" I said. When i was directly in front of her, I put my hoof on the top of her head, and channeled magic. "Rainbow Dash, you are the only pony in all of Equestria to ever create a sonic rainboom. Do you think your friends don't respect you for that? They would respect you even if you couldn't fly. Even the Wonderbolts respect you. And they are more loyal to you, than they are to the Princess." I took my hoof off of her, she stood up, and all of the color went back into her. "Come with me." I said, we sprinted back to the center. "Stay with these two." I said. Then I went back and sprinted to the next clearing, where Fluttershy was sulking.
"They laugh at me." She sobbed. I figured she would be uncomfortable if she felt somepony touching her head, so instead I channeled magic, and sent out a golden rapidly expanding ring of yellow. It passed over her, and she looked at me.
"Fluttershy. Your friends do anything but laugh at you behind your back. You are a sister to them. And they are your friends." i felt a little shaky after that. The powerful magic it took to even use magic without a horn was difficult. Let alone cast a spell like that. Speaking of which, I probably wouldn't have to cast again. All of the color went back into Fluttershy, and she stood up. "Let's go." I said.
"Okay." She replied. We both sprinted to the next clearing, where Pinkie Pie was sitting down, with a straight mane and tail. I walked over and touched her head.
"Pinkie. Your parties, are your special talent. To even think that somepony wouldn't like them, is ridiculous. You are good at throwing parties. Look at your flank. That proves it. You have fun at every word anypony says. If anything, your friends are envious of you." I took my hoof off, all the color went back into her, and her mane exploded back into it's natural bounciness. She started giggling. "Come with me." We all sprinted to the next clearing, where Applejack was sulking.
I felt like one more casting of body magic could probably weaken me to the point where we would not be able to walk, but it was a risk I was willing to take. We still had about half an hour left. I put my hoof to Aj's forehead. And spoke. "Applejack. Your friends would never lie to you. The only things that lied were the keepers of the grove of 'truth,' and they were being controlled by Discord." At that, I took my hoof away from her, and she stood, full flush yellow-orange. "Come on every- " I couldn't finish the sentence before I started to black out.
When I woke up, I saw five ponies standing over me. "How long..." I said.
"Fifteen minutes." Said Pinkie. I jumped to my hoofs.
"Fifteen minutes!" I said, "We have to get back to the center, now!" We all sprinted as fast as we could. We entered the grove at the last minute. Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Spike were all standing in front of Twilight. "Everypony stand in front of Twilight!" I said.
Twilight stood up. "So, everypony is back. The spirit of their element restored." Something was wrong. Her colors weren't coming back. "But it's too late. Discord won." I knew what I had to do. I channeled magic into my hoof, and touched her head. With every bit of magic left in me, I said five words.
"I love you, Twilight Sparkle."
