Choke
Flight of the wounded
Previous ChapterRainbow Dash
Rainbow Dash was sitting on a cloud waiting for Applejack, so that they could go check the Spring Fair out. But, it was tasking forever and she was very bored, so she began taking tufts of cloud and rolling them into spheres and throwing them at passerby. Most just frowned and hurried on, but some threatened to call the guards. She did this for an hour or so before she grew tired again and decided to take a nap. When she woke up, an acrid scent filled her nostrils. Words could not describe what it smelled like. It filled her mouth and invaded her throat and made her eyes water. She coughed and hacked until she fell off the cloud and landed with a sickening crunch. By the time the she regained conscious the yellow fog had nearly engulfed her. Her head was pounding with pain and the fog clobbered at her senses. She laid in fetal position and sobbed and retched, afraid and alone. She had began to lose her conscious when she heard a sound to her right. “Ap-Applejack?” she croaked, squinting in the direction, her eyes watering furiously. She could make out a figure in the fog. She began crawling slowly towards the figure, pausing every few inches to rest. Eventually she reached the figure, to her dismay it was not Applejack, but a colt clad in royal guard armor. He looked not much younger than Rainbow Dash herself, she tapped him gently on the shoulder. At first he did not respond but began to gradually stir. He rolled over and Dash could see some sort of apparatus hanging off of his face like a wet rag. He mumbled something and extended his hoof towards her.”I’m sorry, what?” Dash responded to him before breaking into a coughing fit. He sat up alarmed and pulled the mask off his face and handed it to Dash. Dash understood that he wanted her to wear it, so she pulled it over her face. It was made of a thick but pliable substance. She was guessing that it filtered the air. She looked at the young colts face and had to refrain from screaming in terror. His eyes were puffy and swollen, with small rivulets of blood leaking from his eyes and nose. Each breath sounded like he was giving birth, slowly climaxing in pain. She moaned In realization why the inside of the mask was sticky and wet, he must of head had the mask on for a good two-three hours. He shakily pointed motioning for Dash to go that way before collapsing on the ground. Dash was beginning to hoist him up onto her back when he pushed her away and made a sweeping motion with his hooves. So Dash began walking in the direction he had pointed. Dragging her hooves, she had been walking what felt like two hours but had actually been ten minutes, she decided to keep walking but closed her stinging eyes. More time passed, so she decided to see if she recognize where she was, she opened her eyes, but the world remained pitch black. That’s when Rainbow lost her cool, she howled and tore the mask off of her face and began clawing at her face as if someone had dropped a sheet over her head. She flapped her wings blindly, launching her in the air and sending her into twists and spirals. She shrieked furiously as if trying to kill her unseen attacker. Her wild flight had caused her to fly directly through a window in the Library. She smashed through the window easily, but slammed into a bookshelf headfirst, and for the second time that day Rainbow Dash passed out
