“Hey Twilight, I got you a little present, and I want you to open it now instead of tomorrow morning,” Rainbow said, pushing a wrapped present over towards her marefriend. They were contentedly laying side by side in front of a roaring fire, listening to the crackles and the pops as the wood was consumed. The book before them lay forgotten for the moment, open near the end. “I don’t want to wait another day for us to use my present.”

“But it’s tradition to not open presents before Hearth's Warming day, Dashie!” Twilight said, biting her lip as she looked at the tempting present before her. It was in the shape of a perfect square, leading her to believe that it wasn’t going to be another book. Curious more than anything, she lifted the package, noting that it was fairly heavy and most likely not a book. “But…”

“But… you want to open the present now, right?” Rainbow asked, poking the box a couple times. She put her muzzle up to Twilight’s ear and whispered, “I promise you that you’ll really enjoy it once you open it…” Rainbow gave Twilight’s flank a quick squeeze with her wing, making her yelp and blush in surprise. Twilight relaxed and stared at the box, simply enjoying the moment. Ah, so it’s that kind of present, eh? She mentally shrugged, knowing fully well that this was what Rainbow usually did when she wanted to get some tail. “Oh...” She gave Rainbow a sly smile. “I guess we can break the rules every once in a while, right?” Twilight lit her horn and started tearing the wrapping paper off, a small smile on her face.

“That’s the spirit!” Rainbow said with glee as she watched Twilight pull apart the red and green wrapping paper. Moments later, a plain-looking cardboard box was revealed. “Go on, open it!” she said, giving Twilight’s flank another squeeze with her wing. As Twilight reached for the box, Rainbow surprised her yet again by nibbling on her flicking ear.

“I was ju–just about to! Mmm…” Twilight moaned, leaning against Rainbow’s cheek as she melted into her embrace. “Oh, Dashie… you know just how I like it…”

Rainbow kept going for another few seconds then stopped. “Yeah, you know I do…” she said, laying a small kiss on Twilight’s cheek. “Now go on, open it; we don’t have all night!”

“Don’t we?” Twilight smiled and gave Rainbow a strange look. She reached for the box and opened the flaps on the top, then looked inside. “A book?” she asked, curious as to why Rainbow had packed it inside of a box when she could have just wrapped it by itself instead.

“So whatcha think? You thought it wasn’t going to be a book, right?” Dash asked, her flank wriggling in anticipation. “Read the title for me!”

Since there was nothing on the side she was looking at, Twilight flipped the book over to find fancy gold lettering written across the top of the book’s cover. “One thousand and one ways to please your marefriend,” she read, her blush deepening with every word. “R–Rainbow! This–” Twilight was cut off, for she found Rainbow’s lips upon her own. Closing her eyes, she felt Rainbow gently poke her lips with her tongue, prompting her to allow her in. Twilight shot Rainbow a curious look. “Do we need to go upstairs for this?” she asked with a sly grin.

“Maaaybe,” Rainbow replied, drawing out the word. “Come on, I’ll race ya upstairs! Three, two, one...” Twilight lit her horn a moment before she finished the countdown. “Go!” At that, she clutched the book to her chest and rocketed upstairs only to find Twilight reappearing on the bed. “Hey, not fair!”

“You didn’t say no magic, Dashie,” Twilight playfully shot back. “Do we need any... bedroom enhancers?” She lit her horn and used her magic to pull open her bottom nightstand drawer, revealing a plethora of sex toys that they had built up over the previous months.

“Heh, not this time!” Rainbow replied. She hopped up on the bed and snuggled next to Twilight, then opened the book to the page she found the other day. “It’s this part, right.... here!” she finished with a blush, using a hoof to point out the section.
