The Nightmare
Life never exactly was fair. Who said it was to be? I can at least say that life is balanced. Fate always requires a form of balance. If there is too much good, bad gets thrown into the mix. If there is too much bad, good spoils its fun.
I, myself, enjoyed a nice childhood, had a rough high school, and now a mediocre job at a Pizza Hut. Fairly balanced right? Well...yes and no...yes there was a decent general balance, but no, because Fate apparently had different ideas. And how does getting sent to Equestria have do with all this? Well, it all starts on that crazy night.

Ainsworth, Nebraska: Pizza Hut (October 7th, 2015; 9:55 pm)
“Hey, Zack!” shouted the Pizza Hut manager.
I looked up from the pizza I was preparing as he said, “Once you finish that, you can clock out.”
With a smile, I finish the pizza, place it in the oven, and I clock out. Leaving from the back of the restaurant, I walk towards my bike and unhook it from the fence near the dumpster. Just as I get on to start riding home, I hear thunder in the distance. Looking for the source, I could literally find no cloud in the sky. All the stars in their beauty could be visible.
I heard the thunder again and I turned towards where I heard it come from. On the street facing me was a black horse. The horse was wearing some sort of white blue armor, had wings and a horn, and its mane and tail seemed to glimmer like a night sky that was laced with lighting. I couldn’t help but wonder if I was seeing things or if this was a poor yet well done Halloween joke...until it spoke.
“Your darkness is strong. You will make an excellent forerunner for my return.”
At that, I blacked out.
