Just A Little Bit Of Layla's Heart
Buzz, buzz.
Her phone buzzed for the sixteenth time, she sighed and got up out of bed and made her way into the living room. Her house was surprisingly clean for once, usually, she would have like empty cans or something scattered around, this was the first time she had it cleaned. She grabbed her phone off the table, she entered her password and opened the message. She didn’t even have time to check her phone as the a loud bang came to her ears, Knock, Knock Throwing her head back in a long sigh she walks to the door and answers it, without the state of mind as she’s wearing an oversized t-shirt and socks. It was about 7:30 in the afternoon, it’s normal.The person behind the door was another salesman, He was about 6 ft in height, blue hair. He was about the fifth person to be selling something.
“Good afternoon,” He started as he stood up straight, “I’m with the Brotherhood, the people who…”
“Who sort out the supernatural, yeah I know,” She said as she pushed her hair behind her ear, “What do you want me to buy?”
“Buy? No, no, no dear. I’ve been sent by Princess Twilight to warn you,” He said firmly, “I’m Agent Shining Armor, and she wants you to know that there is a werewolf loose, stay inside tonight! She also wants to have a record of everyone who lives in the area,” He holds out a pad, “ Like your height, eye color, hair color, other, just fill the sheet while I talk to your neighbor,” She took the sheet and Shining started to walk down the pathway then across to her next door neighbor.
She didn’t bother to close the door and grabbed a pen, she sat down on her sofa and looked at the sheet. ” Name? Twyla Snow. Age? 20. Race? Pegasus. Hair color? Blonde. Eye color? Crystal. Why does the Princess need this information? Height? 5’2’’ Any Piercings? 4 golden studs up the right ear and a golden hoop on left eyebrow. That is all I’m answering.” Twyla get’s back up and heads to the door as Shining just got there.
“Just in the nick of time, thank you,” Shining said as he took the sheet off her, “Um… Twyla? You didn’t answer all the questions,” She had already slammed the door into his face.
Twyla made her way back to her sofa and sat down, grabbing her phone which she had received two more messages, at first, she thought it was Rarity asking her to be another model but she was wrong, It was Layla! Someone who was always there for her always made her laugh. She read the last two messages,
“Hey Twyla, you’re most likely asleep, but if you’re not, call.”
“It’s Layla again, well I think you know, call when you’re free.”
Twyla smiled and presses the call now button, it ran for about a minute when she heard Layla’s cheerful voice down the line.
“Twyla! You called, I was starting to think you were ignoring me,” She joked as Twyla gave her a little giggle,
“Yeah sorry, I was asleep then when I was about to look at the messages a member of the Brotherhood came over, it was awkward. Anyways what’s up?”
“I was wondering tonight we could go out for a picnic, you know to get to know each other a little better, plus apparently the sunset tonight? Gorgeous,” Twyla smiled.
“Sure, where about?”
“Shawn’s beach, my step-father’s. He owns like this whole land out by the sea, and the Sun sets on that side as well,”
“I’ll be there, what time?”
“8:00,”
“Okay, see you soon, bye,”
“Bye,”
Twyla hung up and smiled to herself, Time with Layla. Alone. Finally usually her friend, Quinn is there, but tonight it’s just them two. She heads down the corridor to her bedroom, now since she is going out she needs to wear something nice, but not too nice, Walking towards her closet she opens the doors. the first thing she sees is all the pictures she has stuck in there, a lot of them where Layla and herself. She smiled at the memories, the best one was at Layla’s 20th birthday, they all went to a place called Laser Tag or something and the first round was two v two and there were 4 teams,
Red, Blue, Yellow and Green, Twyla and Layla were on the Red team, they won, but that day, was the day Layla held her hand, either by accident or on purpose, Twyla liked it, and ever since it seemed like Layla was getting attached to Twyla, like hanging around with her more, inviting her over to catch up that was going on for about three months, and oh boy did Twyla like that. Now she’s getting invited to watch the Sunset with her. Just the two of them.
Twyla pulled out a clean shirt, some shorts and a clean pair of socks. After five minutes she was dressed, hair brushed up out of the way and clean teeth, she has like 15 minutes before she has to be at the beach. She walked out of her room and down into the kitchen, she began opening cabinets to find something, looking in all of them she didn’t see what she was looking for until she saw it on the kitchen side, Deodorant, Lynx, Excite. The amount of times her mother said she smelt like her father the more she used. The can is made for men, but she loves the smell. Then her phone went off again.
She pulls it out of her pocket and checks the message, this time, it was from Rarity,
“Sorry to be a bother, but are you free tonight?”
“... No sorry Rarity, I have plans with Layla.”
“... Lucky girl, she was talking to me about planning to take you somewhere for a while, but I didn’t know she meant tonight,”
“... She talks about me?”
“... Every time she comes over, right I need to go, I have Fluttershy coming over for tonight, have fun,”
“... Thanks, bye.”
“... Bye”
That made her smile, she held her phone near her chest and closed her eyes. She reopened them and grabbed her keys, leaving the house she smiled as she saw Layla standing outside, with the world's biggest grin, she was about the same height as Twyla, her eyes were baby blue. Layla’s hair was violet and it draped down over her shoulder.
“Come on then,” Layla said smiling as Twyla walked out of her house and locked up, walking down Layla gave her a hug.
“Woah, what’s this for?” Twyla asked.
“Can’t I give a close friend a hug?” She asked as Twyla returned it, “Ready to set off?” Twyla nodded and they set off towards the beach.

The two sat down on the beach, the ocean still and the Sun ready to set, Layla scooted over to Twyla and rested her head upon her shoulder, By the time the sun was setting, the sky was painting of the color’s pink, orange and yellow, The sun drowned in the horizon, its rays of light glimmering in the sea, and the clouds boasted mystical colours. Layla used her magic to tatatake a bite out of her sandwich and looked up at Twyla,
“I’m glad you called, we wouldn’t have been laying here if you didn’t,”
“Yeah, I would have called sooner, but The Brotherhood…” Layla placed her finger on Twyla’s lip to hush her.
“Shut up and kiss me,”
With that she did, Layla pressed her lips against Twyla’s. Shocked at start, she soon relaxed letting Layla do what she wanted thus she did. Layla pushed her back making Twyla lay on the sand as she towered over her, lips still locked. Twyla placed her hands on Layla’s hips as she used her own hands to support her, this went on for about a minute until Layla stopped. She pulled away smiling.
“Sorry I had to cut that short, but I really need to go to the bathroom. One minute.” She got up and helped Twyla up, “You might want to wipe sand off you and use my coat if you want to lay down… Also, it’s a full moon tonight… Kissing under the moonlight,” She winks at her and heads towards her house.
Twyla dusted down her body to remove the sand and placed Layla’s coat on the ground, she laid down on it and looked up. She was right, she spotted the full moon up high in the sky. Then something hit her… What did the Brotherhood say to watch out for?
“... wants you to know that there is a werewolf loose, stay inside tonight!”
Twyla began panicking, she shot up and grabbed her phone, but before she could react to the warning.
In the distance…. a noise.... loud enough to hear.... a howl.
