//-------------------------------------------------------// I Don't Get Sick! -by BuckingPonderous- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Vinyl T. Scratch was well known for her impeccable bill of health. Despite her alleged rough and tumble lifestyle, her lazy attitude, "This is bullshit!" Vinyl snapped in between heaves of breath as she stared at what remained of her dinner earlier that evening. She didn't hear Octavia sigh behind her as she held her mane out of her face as another round of dry heaving tried to remove something from her already empty stomach. "I don't-I don't get sick!" "Seems your stomach vehemently disagrees." Octavia observed as Vinyl shuddered in the floor, unable to do anything but wait for the next round. "Then my stomach is full of shi-" her curse was cut off as once more her body continued to rebel against her. Octavia closed her eyes and continued holding up Vinyl's mane with one hoof while the other ran up and down her back. "You need to get something in your stomach, Vinyl." "Why? It'll just end up-" Again she was interrupted, making terrible retching noises before groaning and gasping for air. "Because it will hurt your throat less to have a liquid flowing up it than nothing at all." Octavia explained when she was finished. Vinyl was still gasping for air and Octavia continued to rub her back. "Will you be alright here while I make you something? I think we've some soda in the fridge from Lyra's last visit." "If you think it'll help, go for it." Vinyl grumbled, lifting her glasses up to rub at her misty eyes. Octavia gave her a very gentle pat on the shoulder before letting her mane go and leaving to go make the drink. Vinyl let out a low groan as it appeared things were finally calming down. Her throat was killing her and she'd give just about anything to go to sleep right now. Her operating theory right now was that if she could fall asleep she could wait this out and her body could get over itself and she'd wake up right as rain. Vinyl waited a few more seconds to make sure she was done dry heaving before gingerly rising to her hooves. It was then that Octavia returned, a tray with her drink on her back. "Here you go." She said, turning to offer the drink which Vinyl took with her magic and brought to her lips. "You need to sip it. If you drink too much, you'll be right back in the bathroom again." "Yes, Mom." Vinyl grumbled, but doing as instructed. Octavia huffed but allowed her friend's bad attitude to pass. Among the list of reasons why being in a bad mood was acceptable, being ill like this wasn't a terrible one. Her expression must have been noticed however as Vinyl paused and gave her a tired but apologetic smile. "Thanks for the straw." Octavia returned the smile with one of her own before guiding her back to bed. "Don't mention it. I know being sick isn't fun." "Vampires don't get sick." Vinyl snapped as she laid back down in bed and set her drink on the nightstand. "Getting sick is for mortals." Octavia let out a soft laugh, ignoring Vinyl's hard glare. "Well, I hate to remind you dear, but you've not been a vampire for a few months now." She gave her a teasing poke in the foreleg. "Or did you forget?" "Shut up Tavi." Vinyl snapped, turning away from her and muttering to herself. "Stupid Tirek..."
