It was only 15 years since Abyss was overthrown, yet the loss of Storm and the other 3 still hung heavily on Celestia’s heart. “I was going to marry-” Luna cut in. “Storm has been dead for 15 years Celestia. I know you loved him, I loved Hail, but they’re both gone.” Celestia listened to her sister’s words. Perhaps I do need to let go… Celestia thought to herself. He shall be my second coming!” The young creature looked up at the Black mist. “I bestow to you my powers of evil, use them well, and rule Equestria!” Abyss exclaimed, sending the creature to Equestria. The creature crashed down in the middle of the newly built ponyville. A young couple spotted the creature in a crater and gasped. “Why I’ve never seen such a young being in such a, state of Discord!” The mare said. The creature smiled and giggled. A small cloud appeared over the creature and began raining milk. The mare was oddly endeared by the young creature. “Oh honey, let’s adopt him!” She said, picking the creature up with her magic. The stallion sighed and nodded. “Fine, what shall we name him?” He asked, looking to his lover. “Why Discord of course, look at him!” She said, nuzzling him. Discord giggled again, his new mother floating in the air. “Oh dear, he is very strong!” Celestia sighed as her magic powered down. “Maybe it takes time.” She finally said, walking out of her room and down through the courtyard. She sighed again, despite her sister’s constant attention, along with the citizens of Canterlot; she couldn’t help but feel alone. The magic of friendship had revealed itself to her when she met the six leaders of the rebellion. Now that it had left her, it left a hole in her heart that she couldn’t fill. Even with the love and adoration of all in Equestria. She sat on a bench and noticed a strange flower growing next to the bench. It sprouted in front of her and six crystals popped out. She felt the strange aura of magic and power emanating from them. She lifted them up with magic and brought them to her room. “Why, these feel extraordinary…” She said. She brought the ancient oracles and scholars to analyze them. Among these wise ponies was Starswirl. He looked at the central crystal after all the others had analyzed them. “These are crystals formed from pure harmony!” He exclaimed, turning them over with magic. “This one increases one’s magic, this one induces laughter, and this one inspires generosity.” He said, picking up the other three. “ This one invokes honesty, this one is pure kindness, and this one is extreme loyalty!” Celestia marveled at the stones. “Then it is settled my young friend, these are from now on, the elements of harmony!” Everypony cheered, yet the young Discord would get no sleep that night. For the one thing that would threaten his rule arrived at Equestria that night. Celestia could feel the fear and power from Discord, but waved it off as her mind playing tricks on her. Magic School is Officially Open!Celestia smiled, proud that her new school was open. Young and gifted ponies crowded around the doors; however, the one that caught her eye was no other than discord himself. The young creature was powerful in the ways of magic, and even though his power had evil roots, Celestia felt as if he would be Equestria’s greatest asset. After all, ignorance is bliss, and Celestia was entirely ignorant of His evil side. Discord walked up to the young princesses, hoping to learn how to control his own powers. “A-Ahem, um, princesses; when will the school open?” He asked, looking up at them. Luna looked down and furrowed her eyebrows. “In a few minutes little one.” Celestia said. Luna pulled her sister aside. “Sister, I’ve never seen a creature in such a state of chaos. He seems to be a creation of Abyss…” Luna said, looking back at the young Discord. Celestia shook her head. “He is powerful, but I sense no evil in him. We will just have to watch him.” She said, patting her sister on the back. Celestia turned around and broke the ceremonial ribbon. Fillies and colts screamed as they flooded the school. Celestia chuckled and walked into the school behind them. Abyss smiled, watching his creation wander through the school. His own power vastly more than that of Celestia. “Soon I will begin molding him to my needs. After he has killed the princesses, I will rule over Equestria once again!” He cackled and wandered through the shadow plane towards the newly developed Crystal Empire. His son was there, learning to use his shadow magic. “Good, and as The King of Chaos is rising in Equestria, The Lord of Shadows rises in the crystal plains!” He yelled. His son, Sombra, heard the shout and wandered towards it. Abyss frowned and walked towards the young colt. “W-who are you?” Sombra asked; looking up at the giant figure shrouded in darkness. Abyss leaned down, his eyes full of fire and hatred. “I, young one, am the necessary evil. I am the thing all ponies and creatures fear. I am discomfort, I am discontinuity, and I am death.” Abyss said, stooping down to the colt. Sombra backed up in fear. “P-please don’t h-hurt me!” He begged, cowering from the figure. Abyss rolled his eyes. “Stand up you sniveling coward! No son of mine shall spend his life as a cowering servant!” Abyss yelled. Sombra looked up in fear and confusion. “I-I’m not your s-son!” Sombra said, remembering his adoptive parents. Surely he couldn’t have been the child of such an evil force. “You are my heir, now shut up, and I shall teach you how to use shadow magic to prolong your life!” Celestia sighed. The past 2 years of classes had been stressing for her, yet she was happy. The school brought all sorts of young magical hopefuls together, forming new bonds of friendship. Yet, once he reached adulthood, he stopped aging. This concerned Luna far more than it did Celestia. Discord walked towards the elements, his copy keeping the princesses busy, and touched one of them. His finger became stone and he drew back his arm. “Well this is interesting…” He said, studying one with a bemused expression. He flew away and took the place of his copy. “So, my fair ladies, remember when you discovered those crystals and there was a big celebration?” Celestia nodded and stood next to Discord as they started walking through Canterlot. “Yes my friend, I do.” She said, looking over the building of the royal garden. “Well, I was just a young creature then. Can you tell me what those crystals were?” He asked, getting closer to the princess. Celestia looked at him and nodded. “Of course! Those were Elements of pure harmony!” She said, sitting down on a bench. Discord sat next to her. He now understood why his finger phased to stone. Those crystals were anti-chaos, and he was pure chaos. He sighed and looked down, Abyss appeared before them. Celestia’s eyes widened as she backed away. “Discord, move away from him! That is Abyss, Equestria’s greatest evil!” She said, as Luna dashed to her side. “Relax Celestia and Luna; I come here not for you, but for Discord.” He said, floating closer to Discord. “Go back to your eternal damnation Abyss!” Celestia spat, light glowing from her horn. Abyss recoiled in fear from the light and glared at her. “I will join Storm in hell, forever tormenting him!” He said with a sneer, Celestia gaped at him and walked forward. “HOW DARE YOU?! HOW DARE YOU, YOU CRUEL BASTARD!” She shouted, her magic blasted at Abyss and he flew back. “How dare I? You filthy whore! I ruled Equestria, and then you and that rabble overthrew me! I am the rightful ruler of this worthless spit of a kingdom!” He spat back. Discord frowned and walked forward. “Nopony insults my friends!” He yelled, expelling Abyss with his own powers. He floated to the princesses, who were still in shock from the display of power. Celestia started stuttering and Luna sighed. “Discord, you’re dangerous, we need to know how we can trust you with this kind of power.” Luna said. Discord frowned. “What, you think I’m going to try to overthrow you? Why that deeply wounds me! I couldn’t dream of hurting you two!” He said, becoming angry. Discord was brimming with hurt; he loved the sisters more than himself. They had been his first friends, and now they say they can’t trust him. He frowned and teleported out. As he appeared in a cave, Abyss appeared. “You see Discord? Friendship is false; you always end up hurt either way. To think you loved them, but what is love if it is not returned?” He said, smiling at the chaotic creature. Discord nodded in defeat. “Chaos though, that is true magic. It brings all things together in a shaky relationship. And you could rule it all Discord, I gave you the power.” Abyss said, smiling as his creation’s confusion. Discord then smiled and nodded. “Yes, I see what you mean, chaos is amusing and fun! Now that I understand that, I won’t be needing you!” He shouted and Abyss frowned. “What do you mean?!” Abyss howled as Discord snapped his finger. Abyss was dragged back to hell. “NOOOOOOO, YOU WILL PAY!” Abyss screamed, thrashing around. As the last of Abyss disappeared, Discord smiled. “Now to cause general mayhem and chaos!” Discord said, smiling as His magic spilled over the hills of Equestria. Celestia and Luna were shocked as chaos was running rampant through Equestria. Discord overthrew the sisters in one day and one move. He now sat on a gilded throne, controlling all the chaos. Celestia and Luna tried raising a rebellion as they had for Abyss, but nopony really ‘Hated’ Discord as they had Abyss. After all, Discord didn’t take their freedom; he wasn’t cruel to them as Abyss was. Their efforts were fruitless, until they remembered the crystals that they had discovered seemingly so long ago. They gathered Starswirl and the rest of the elders to the tree of harmony. “Everypony, this is our dire hour. We must take back Equestria!” Celestia announced, walking to the tree of harmony. “Sister, are you sure we must do this? These crystals sustain the tree.” Luna said, looking up at the tree. Celestia nodded. “Now that we have discovered the only thing able to defeat Discord, we must utilize it posthaste! Do not worry, as long as the elements survive, the tree will continue to control the living creatures here.” Celestia said, getting the crystals down from the tree. They walked to Discord’s throne and saw him eating seeds. Celestia stepped up with Luna. “Oh goodie, my two favorite ponies, want something to eat? Hm?” Seeing the princesses’ stoic expression He shrugged. “More for me.” He said, continuing to munch on seeds. Luna frowned. “We are here to defeat you Discord, with these!” She brought up the crystals and Discord laughed, forgetting his first encounter with one of them. “D-defeat me?! W-with those?! Oh Luna, you always did crack me up, but that was hysterical!” He shouted, still doubling over with laughter. Celestia frowned and signaled Luna. They started to power up the crystal; as Discord was laughing they shot the beam of harmony at him. He screamed as he slowly turned to stone. Abyss shouted. “Damn it… at least my son still has some sense.” He said, looking over his son’s steady preparations for domination.
