I can't remember how I got here. It's been about 2 weeks now and Twilight and the other princesses have been really busy trying to get me back to my world. I mean I kind of still wanted to go back to my normal human world, my own species instead of colored pastel talking horses which really shocked me when I got here. I guess as much as it shocked the ponies. They said that they never seen a human before. Well I've never seen a talking cartoon pony in front of me before. That was only on television or internet or whatever. Or at least I thought it was. Just got out of Twilight's castle in Ponyville. These days I’ve been visiting her because she asked me to. Half the time was for discussing about how the progress is going of returning me home and sort of discussions about what I am. Other times is helping her organize books or have a chat... I've been getting used to the environment around me. The ponies are really nice, greeting me when I walk pass them. Is something you don't see much in the human world...well depending on what part of the planet you live in. I live in the city and people are always in a rush brushing past by you without even saying "good afternoon" or "have a nice day", nothing of that. In here is quite the opposite. Feeling quite comfortable being here. Hell… the ponies even gave me a home to stay in.
As I walk around Ponyville and greet some ponies, I start walking towards the park. Reaching into my pocket I take out my iPod. Oh yea, I guess I should probably mention this. My iPod still has charge in it. How? Well apparently pony’s magic actually is compatible with the battery power. That meant that whenever I needed a full charge, I needed to go to a unicorn who knows magic. Their horn glows with an orb appearing on top of it, and it charges the battery in a few seconds. I think that’s really cool! At first I got worried that maybe if I kept doing this I could drain their power or something (the pony’s power I mean), but no they say they barely used any magic on the device. So yeah, no worries. But also I’m trying not to use the iPod a lot, because I want to get more social and connected with the ponies. Plus… no internet. Bleh. The contents on it is some music and some downloaded YouTube videos. Okay, back to the event; I put on my earphone and put some electronic music as I walk. Occasionally bobbing my head up and down lightly to the beat. Eventually after some walking I reach the park. Grassy fields, a few ponies here and there. It’s really peaceful. I went to one of the trees in the grassy hills and sit down underneath its shade, resting my head back against the trunk.
I watched how the other ponies were running around having fun. Others just relaxing with their friends or couple. One thing caught my attention. A filly. A Pegasus filly walking slowly around, smelling the flowers and picking up some of them. Her white coat, her mane and tail with different shades of blues. Her long mane reached her chest, almost to the upper part of her leg. It waved along with the breeze and with the speed of her running. She looked adorable. She just went on from flower to flower, or towards bushes. She was a little curious and adventurous filly. After a bit of watching I just laid back and closed my eyes, resting my head on the tree. I was planning on taking a quick nap though about a minute passes by and I suddenly feel someone besides me. I slowly open my eyes and to my side, was that same filly. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack from how cute she was. She looked down at me with a curious look.
"Hello." I greet her. She gets a bit nervous and shyly responds
"H-hi..." Oh... My... God. So freaking adorable! I get so sensitive and girly whenever I see someone --or somepony-- that looks adorable. Her voice was really sweet, soft, almost like an angel. One thing I didn't noticed from far is that she had a little bow on her mane. Much like Applebloom has one, but smaller. I look at her and get a bit uncomfortable by the look she was giving me. She looked up, down, observing my body from top to bottom. Again, something that other ponies did when they saw me. It felt awkward because nobody would just stare at you and scan your body. But these ponies hasn't seen a human before so I understand why they observe me in such an odd way. I softly interrupt her waving my hand slowly in front of her.
"Um... Hello?" She gets a bit startled and looks at me still nervous.
"S-sorry... “she says softly, hiding her face with her mane. She's a shy one.
"What's your name sweetie?" she takes a bit of her time before answering.
"I-I'm... Melody. “she responds still hiding her face with her mane.
“Melody. Cute name hehe.” I chuckle and she moves her hooves away from her face and giggles a bit. We look at each other for a bit then she starts talking.
“What about you? What’s your name?” She asks.
“Oh um… I’m Eric.” I respond.
“Hehe. N-nice to meet you Eric” I chuckle lightly. The look of both happiness and shyness in her expressions and those beautiful eyes of hers. I’m literally resisting the urge to hug her. I’m a hugging person, so any hugs from anyone or anypony, it just makes my day better. I think for a bit then ask her;
“So where’s your mom?” I ask. It might seem creepy but I don’t know, she seemed pretty young so I was guessing she was with her mom in the park right?
“Oh. M-my mom is in my house. I told her I’d be coming to the park for a bit while she made dinner.” She replied. I just smiled and didn’t said anything until she continued.
“Hey maybe you want to come meet her?” I stand up and respond
“Oh! Nonono its okay. Um, I really don’t want to bother anypony. Plus I have to do some stuffs today. So busy day hehe. Maybe some other time. I mean, not sure when or where but you’ll see me around here. It’s always nice to meet new ponies.” She smiles shyly
“O-okay. Well uh, I guess I should get going now. Mommy is probably done with dinner. Bye” I say my goodbyes to her as I wave my hand and she starts trotting away. Sighing I sit back on the trunk. A bunch of thoughts got in the way but nothing important. I laid my head back and closed my eyes finally getting my rest.
After getting my rest I slowly open my eyes, my vision starting to focus to the environment. I look around and see that there’s almost no pony in the park and the sun is setting. Damn, must have been out for at least 2 hours. I stretch my arms and legs as I stand up. I start walking and as I do, I think. There was something important today but I forgot… hm… After some thinking I finally remembered. Pinkie Pie was throwing a late night party to hang out with friends. I was invited too. The way she invited was weird, but funny and it cheered me up. She just came by the door, bouncing as she usually does, sing a quick song about the party and gives the invite. She is definitely a great party pony. I would love to have her for arranging my next birthday party… which is still a few weeks away but still.
Eventually I arrive there at Sugarcube Corner. It was already nighttime and inside I could see some ponies already have arrived. My hands starts shaking a bit. Even though I feel happy right now, I feel nervous too. I always have like a moment where whenever I arrive at a party to people, or in this case ponies, that I don’t know, I get nervous. Because I’m bad at socializing and I get nervous pretty easily no matter the audience. I took a deep breath and go right to the front door which is open. As soon as I enter, I’m greeted with Pinkie Pie who jumped right in front of me cheerfully.
“Hey! Eric! You made it!” She greets me and takes out a tray with glasses of fruit punch. I gladly take one and she bounces off. Myself chuckling.
“Silly pony hehe” I take a sip from the punch, I walk around a bit and then see Twilight and her friends talking and giggling together. Since those are the ones I actually know so far, I go to them.
“Oh hey there sugarcube!” Applejack greets me.
“Hello!” I smile in response.
“Greetings darling. I’m glad to see you made it.” Good old fancy Rarity greets me.
“Yup. Great to see you here too. Pinkie mostly made this party for you, since you’re still accommodating to your stay here in Ponyville and um… we wanted to lighten up your mood.” Twilight says.
“Thanks guys. Really. Thanks for helping me so much. I mean… I’m actually kind of… glad to stay here. Even if I had my life planned ahead over at my world, this world of yours suits me better. I mean, as long as I’m not like bothering any of you ponies.”
“W-why would you be bothering us? You’ve been a really nice guy since you came here.” Fluttershy responds.
“Hehe… thanks.” I chuckle a bit and takes a sip of the fruit punch.
“So… what do you mares normally do at parties?” I ask
“Well what we do mostly at parties, have fun! Duh” RD replies.
“Oh! Fun! Did somepony said fun! Oh! My sisters are here!” Pinkie cheers and runs off to the entrance and meet her siblings. One with light gray mane and dark purple-ish coat, the other light gray coat and long gray striped mane and the last one purple short mane, gray coat where some simple clothing. Funny thing though, despite being Pinkie’s siblings, which I would of suspected at least to be as cheerful as her, the three of them had different personalities. First one looks aggressive and grumpy, the other one looked extremely shy, and the other… um… I don’t even know.
As Pinkie stayed greeting her sisters, I continued chatting with the ponies. “So yesterday at the picnic you mentioned something about your birthday right?” Applejack asked.
-“Hm? Oh, oh right. Yea, I was asking what date we were in to see when my birthday’s coming up since, last time I was in my world, I remember that my birthday was due in a few weeks. March 27th”
-“Oh. That’s in 10 days!” Twilight responded
-“Nice hehe!” I smile which then slowly becomes worried look as I start thinking about how I celebrate my birthdays with my friends back in my world. The ponies look at me worried.
-“Hey... what’s wrong?” Rainbow Dash mentioned.
-“Um... n-nothing is just… *sighs* Well I’m just… remembering how I would celebrate my birthday with my friends. Heh. We had great times together… I’m going to miss them...” I sit down. The ponies get a bit worried about me and tries to cheer me up.
-“Hey come on… cheer up… I mean… sure you can’t go back to your world but… look you have us. You can make new friends here. I’m sure that your friends miss you as much as you miss them… again… I’m sorry we can help you in that” Twilight says gently as she sits next to me.
She puts one of her hoof on my hand gently. I could feel her soft fur as well as, somehow, their worries. The emotions here in this world are more vivid to the point where you can feel them. I look up at Twilight as she’s right next to me, she gives a gentle smile which almost immediately calms me. My heart beat goes up a bit as I smile back. I had an urge to cuddle with the ponies. I can’t resist. I haven’t asked them for a cuddle or if I could cuddle with them. Too nervous of how they will react. I was thinking of hugging Twilight but… she hugs me before I even do it. I stay frozen, surprised and then I quickly hug her back tightly, shutting my eyes. I could feel her emotions stronger now. At this moment, time slowed down a bit. I could feel her breathing. Her soft mane against my cheek. It was… a feeling I could never describe in its entirety. I didn’t want to let go. But to avoid awkwardness we let go. Chuckling a bit as we look at each other.
-“What are you ponies doing?! Come on! Let’s have fun!” Pinkie says, she leaves going to her music player and putting on some music. Some of the ponies starts dancing. Rainbow Dash playfully pulls me trying to get me to stand up.
-“Come on! Show us your moves!” She chuckles, the others giggle a bit.
-“Aww no no nono. I’m not a good dancer.” I chuckle. The other ponies help her to get me to stand up and I do. We go with some other ponies and we start dancing. Me being awkward and nervous I try to do some moves on my own. The ponies look at me a bit weirded out but somewhat surprised. Of course, they stand on 4 legs so… their moves are different from mine. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow starts cheering me up to dance some more.
After about 2 hours. I stay sitting down on a couch, laughing as I talk with some ponies. They seemed to be curious about the human world. They tend to ask multiple questions about how things work there. Twilight was one of those ponies that were asking. Of course, being a curious lavender pony herself. I explained to them about how the sun and moon worked and they seemed puzzled about it. Since in this world of theirs, the sun and the moon is apparently controlled by two princesses. It surprised ME actually when I heard that. So is like the earth is the center of the universe? I don’t know.
The party eventually finished, me and some others were last to go out as Pinkie said goodbye to those that started to leave. I stayed standing beside her, waving my hand to them as they left. All of the ponies were… really great to talk to. I loved their cheerful voices saying goodbye to me, some of them even came by and gave me a hug or a quick nuzzle in the cheek. It felt nice. My worries and depression we’re like… not visible at all at this point.
-“Hey so, you enjoyed the party?!” Pinkie asked me in a happy tone as usual. I look at her and smile.
-“Yup. I did. Quite a lot… thanks.” I say
“Anytime!” She responds. Me and the others start going out. I say goodbye to Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy, leaving me with Twilight as she walks besides me.
“Is it okay if I walk with you to your house?” Twilight asks. I gladly respond. “Oh sure. I don’t mind.” We both give each other a gentle smile as I continue walking to my house.
“Heh… that was a great party.” She says and looks up at me. I chuckle a bit.
“Yup. It was. I honestly… don’t usually go to parties…” I respond. Twilight gets a bit curious and tilts her head slightly.
“Why not?” “Well… you see... I’m not much of a party person. Unless if it’s actually with people I know. Like my friends. Some of the parties I get invited have too many people I don’t know or… just not feeling like going.”
“Well you can always meet new people at parties. You never know what new friendship you could make”
“I know Twi… is just… I’m terrible at conversation. I believe we already talked about this right?” I look at her.
“You’ve only told me that but… you never went into details about it.” Right... I never told her exactly why. We were half way to my house so I decided to tell her a bit of it.
“Alright… I’ll explain to you a bit right now. I’ll explain in more detail some other time. *sighs* Basically, I have social anxiety and suffer from… constant depression a lot. I just… I don’t know how to react to certain events and I just… freeze. Not knowing what to do. When I meet new people. I guess… that’s why I often suffer depression.” Twilight gives a worrying look. She didn’t want me to feel this way. I could tell. “I um… alright not going into detail much but… yea. I’m just so isolated in my own mind. I tend to overthink stuffs and it conflicts me from my reality and my social level. I can’t come up with conversations unless someone else starts a topic...” My hand starts shaking a bit, I feel a tightness in my throat as I try to get the words out. Twilight starts flapping her wings a bit, she floats next to me as she leans to me and gently moves her hoof on my hand. I look up at her. The light of the moon reflecting on her face, casting a light blue hue on her coat and reflecting in her eyes. Her eyes… they calmed me as I looked at them.
“I can feel your stress, Eric… you know… it bothers me that you are going through such conflict with yourself. You’re an amazing friend.” She smiles. My heart warms with how sweet she’s towards me.
We continue walking until eventually we reach home. I stop at the front door and look at her. “Well uh… I guess I’ll see you then.” She says. I give her a smile.
“Yup. I’ll uh… see ya too. Hey. Maybe we could, I don’t know, hang out one of these days when you’re free. We can you know, watch a movie, talk for a bit, stuff like that.” Her ears perk up. I could definitely see a change in expression in her as she lightens up.
“S-sure! That sounds great! Um…. let’s see… well I have to deal with a royal meeting tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, me and Spike have to take care of some organizing and shopping. If nothing else really happens then…” She pauses as she thinks. “Today is Monday… so… Thursday sounds alright.”
“Oh! Alrighty. Thursday it is.” I respond. Twilight looks at me, followed by a hug. I hold her close to me, in my arms as we stay hugging for about a minute or so, which seemed like hours. It was obvious with didn’t want to let go. But we had to.
“Heh… sorry. I know I get busy a lot so uh… at least we’ll try to talk and do stuffs together this Thursday.” She says.
“Of course. And it’s alright, I know you’re busy with important stuffs and uh…” I pause for a bit as I try to come up with something to say but just stay frozen in my words. The awkward silence stays for a few seconds before Twilight gives me a warm smile, followed by a soft giggle of hers. She then turns around and leaves. My mind going wild now, I close the door and head to bed.
